 One major aspect of goth style is an interest in the morbid.

Just as you would not want to be judged for wearing goth clothing, do not judge anyone else for dressing in more preppy attire.

Being creative can help you become more of an individual, and creativity is another major aspect of goth culture.

Goth is something you are naturally. You either are goth or you aren't. You can't be something you're not.

If you're forcing yourself to act a certain way or trying too hard to be something you truly aren't, then just stop, because when you lie to yourself, it is incredibly clear to others.

Reminder that goth culture is about self-expression. Forcing someone to conform goes against goth philosophy.

The emo outlook typically focuses more on depression and and emotional sensitivity, while goths are drawn to dark fantasy and death.

Do not talk about how miserable your life is or act gloomy. It doesn't impress us.

Put simply, a Goth is someone who finds beauty in things others consider dark. They love all that is dark and mysterious.

Goth is not a phase. It is something that you either are or aren't.

 I don't understand people who say "Oh, I used to be Goth." Maybe they used to play the part to fit in for a while - but it isn't something you grow out of!

A person who is hateful, hurtful, violent, or emotionally closed is far away from being ‘gothic’.

The whole part of being a Goth is about being yourself and being unique: not a crowd follower.

Goth isn't bonded or held down with rules. Goth isn't always just sadness, depression, addiction, but instead creativity and freedom in the purest of ways.

If you're very young, or a baby Goth, you may face being called a poseur, even by other Goths. If so, stick it through and believe in yourself.

I like to to know who shares my Dark Soul desires.

In the face of bright, burning hatred, dig your fingers into the cool, dark earth and plant seeds of kindness.
