  5. >wondering how long to hide in the forest
  6. >pass over some thick brush
  7. >see the road a few steps in front of you
  8. >look to the left
  9. >see the road curve sharply
  10. >look to the right
  11. >see the road take an equally sharp curve
  12. >shake your head in confusion
  13. >move to the right
  14. >walk in the forest parallel to the road
  15. >Hear the faint clanking of metal as you move forward
  16. >stop
  17. >look left and right
  18. >try to pinpoint where the noise is coming from
  19. >its getting louder
  20. >look left
  21. >still nothing coming that way
  22. >turn your head to look to the right
  23. >something catches your eye midway through turning
  24. >squint at it
  25. >see a brightly polished set of armor slowly moving in the distance
  26. >drop to ground to remain obscure
  27. >watch the guard carefully
  28. >hear more clanking coming another direction
  29. >turn to that direction
  30. >see another guard much closer to where you are now
  31. >start moving again
  32. >creep forward unseen
  33. >hear voices up ahead

  41. >move into them carefully
  42. >position yourself still
  43. >attempt to avoid bringing any attention your way
  44. >listen to the guards on the road converse
  45. >“…and then we split up looking for him in the forest”
  46. >The other guard is listening to his companion closely
  47. >“after I found nothing, I called out for the sergeant but I didn’t get an answer”
  48. >“I went to search for him and I found his lifeless body laying on the forest floor”
  49. >the guard continues to stare at the storyteller in suspense
  50. >“I didn‘t know what to make of it, I don‘t think I‘ll forget seeing him like that for as long as I live. It was such a horrid sight”
  51. >they begin to pass beyond your hiding spot
  52. >start moving again under the cover of the bushes
  53. >they rustle loudly
  54. >one of the guards catches the movement in the bushes out of the corner of his eye
  55. >he turns around quickly and fires a blast of energy in your direction
  56. >freeze as it skims over your head
  57. >He fires a second shot
  58. >it strikes the front most of your thigh
  59. >collapse over
  60. >start crawling away frantically
  61. >“There!”
  62. >he starts moving toward your direction
  63. >bite your sleeve trying to suppress any cries of pain
  64. >The other remains on the road
  65. >“What are you doing?”
  66. >“I saw something move over there!”
  67. >continue crawling
  68. >see the bushes thinning out
  69. >look around for more cover
  70. >the only bushes thick enough to hide under are being approached by the guard
  71. >feel a hole in the ground underneath your hand as you crawl
  72. >look at it
  73. >Hear the guard approaching
  74. >stuff your arm down the hole
  75. >feel the soft touch of fur
  76. >grab it
  77. >pull out a rabbit
  78. >turn around
  79. >let go of it
  80. >it scurries out of the bushes
  81. >the approaching guard stops his movement and watches it run away
  82. >the guard on the road rolls his eyes at the actions of his cohort
  83. >“Would you be careful with that spell? It could seriously hurt some one”
  84. >the guard moves back onto the road
  85. >the two start walking again
  86. >continue to lay in the dirt
  87. >still biting into the sleeve
  88. >look up
  89. >see the guards out of sight
  90. >attempt to stand up
  91. >stagger in pain as you place your weight on your wounded leg
  92. >take in a deep breath
  93. >start limping toward ponyville
  94.
  95. >back in Canterlot
  96. >a letter reaches Celestia
  97. >she reads through it
  98. >Luna: “Is there any progress, Sister?”
  99. >Celestia: “They searched all over ponyville and didn’t find him. They searched the nearby forest and roads and still Didn’t find him. They searched half of his house and found nothing of use. And just moments ago, They finished searching the 3 towns west of ponyville and parts of the respective surrounding forests to no effect.”
  100. >Luna: “Was there no progress at all?”
  101. >Celestia: “They managed to find some Boot prints and the weapon that may have killed the Sergeant, But no wanted criminals ”
  102. >Celestia Sighs in frustration and glares out the windows irritably
  103. >Luna: “Truly are we facing our greatest foe”
  104. >Celestia: “This is turning into a fool’s errand, I can’t think of any other way to describe it”
  105. >Luna: “Do you think Anon has any idea of the turmoil he is bringing?”
  106. >Celestia: “I don’t know. if you’ve ever heard speak of the violent, sadistic world he came from, you might think he’s doing this for fun.”
  107. >Luna: “Perhaps he simply has more knowledge of this field than ourselves”
  108. >Celestia continues her glare, indifferent to Luna’s reply
  109. >Luna looks at her in concern
  110. >Luna: “Sister, are you well?”
  111. >Celestia: “…five dead. Four of them innocents, one of them a guard who died while serving…and now this wild goose chase. I should have trusted my instincts. I could have exiled Anon when he first showed up and none of this would have happened…”
  112. >Celestia starts moving toward the exit
  113. >Celestia: “…But no, I give him a chance”
  114. >Luna continues to look at her parting sister in concern
