  1. We are delighted to annouce the opening of #ffapickup a quakelive classic rulset pickup channel on www.quakenet.org
  2. Our bot has the following public commands for channel users. If you have any requests for future features feel free to query any OP.
  3. !iam <qlAccountName> link yourself to your QL account. You may find that your already known if your a frequent user to irc and have used any pickup channel recently.
  4. !a add yourself to the next game
  5. !r remove yourself from the next game (leaving the channel will auto remove you as well)
  6. !s <server> sets the next server for next game (must be added to use this)
  7. !w shows the current added players.
  8. !l shows last game information
  9. !rules displays rules
  10. !maps displays the current map pool
  11. !findplayer <qlnick> provides you with with that players current server, if they are playing
  12. !playerinfo <qlnick> provides some detailed stats
  13. !get_gamenick <qlnick> get the name of the linked QL account of a channel user
  14. !stats <day/week/month/year/all> shows pickup stats for that time period
  15. !ladder shows top ladder for players that have played a game in channel
  16.  
  17. If your quakelive nick is wrong (query an @) whom will rectify this promptly.

  19. Channel rules are simple. Don't ruin pickup's. This includes but not limited to being abusive, cheating, rage quiting.

  21. Thanks to generosity from the QuakeLive team especially Syncerror we are extremely pleased being able to announce that they will be at least a few Sunday tournaments with Pro tokens up as as prizes of up to one year in length for the first

  23. tournament, in total we have a pool of a several years worth of Pro subscriptions to give away to our various winners and participants selected at random.

In order to qualify to participate in the Sunday cups, players will require to of played at least five #ffapickup games during the proceeding fortnight on top of this requierement all players require to of played at least 100 matches within quakelive itself (any game mode) to help minimize any alternative account signups and to aid in the rating method used to provide as accurate as possible result sets.

  27. FFA Tournament Information
  28. Signups are open at all times. The bot will check that you have been active within a couple of minutes prior to the tournament commencing within the channel or indeed within quakelive. If you are not active within that period it will automatically remove you from the initial player list.

  30. then remove you when the tournament starts or active within quakelive. There is a lucky dip with varioust tokens to be given out to a few of the entrants (at random) as long as the player(s) randomly

  32. choosen plays all their games within the tournament of 1x week pro token. This shall be queried automatically to the the winners (and results of the winner will be notified within the channel itself and on

  36. Tournament commands
  37. !tourn_a adds you to the tournament
  38. !tourn_r removes you from the tournament.
  39. !tourn_w displays the current signed up players.
  40.  
  41. We have limited the initial tournament to the first 256 players that sign up for the time being this may increase depending on interest signups.

  43. The bot will splitt the signed up players into even as possible groups. via elo/glicko rating. eg 64 signups would be 8 groups of 8 with the average rating of each group being close as possible.

  45. Each round is Best of 3 games. The scores for those games are then tallied up.

  47. The top half of each group will go up to the next stage.

  49. The groups will then be reassigned and repeat the above until there is 8 players or less. They shall proceed to the final. This will mean a slight delay between rounds, however will ensure all games are fair as possible. With the final being ensured with the very highest level of play possible.
