- Greetings Chris & Allen,
- There was all the big fuss made over the UEFI, which ultimately wants to
- ensure secure booting. And protect the boot manager. My question is, why is
- there more than one Boot Manager at all?
- It seems to me that a Boot Manager is the one thing, that EVERY operating
- system wants the exact same things from, i.e. to boot their OS. Is open
- source not ideal for this problem? You have a single Open Source Boot
- Manager, and then each operating system is free to modify the code so that
- their OS works with it.
- And, if there was only one Boot Manager, it would open a lot of possibilites,
- like moving the boot manager onto the MB's firmware.
