  1. Clear saves between resets. (This is required any time you start a New Game, since your lucky ID persists regardless of having a save file.)
  2.
  3. Manipulate for a Trainer ID of 0x26fb (09979) and Lucky ID of 0x186f (06255)
  4. - Video: https://youtu.be/LgQiDpcPpDQ
  5. - Paste: https://pastebin.com/Z3BWt8uK
  6. - EonTimer offsets (from personal testing, may need to calibrate to improve success):
  7. - GBP/GSR: 22393+7757
  8. - GBI: 21853+7757
  9.
  10. > TECHNICAL NOTE: There is a god combo that would save a couple seconds (assuming it also has fast options), but the combination is ~1/89.5M (48/4,294,967,296). This may not be found for a very long time.
  11. - TID = 0x26db or 0x26fb
  12. - LID (upper byte) = $18, $20, or $38
  13. - LID (lower byte) = between $3a and $41
  14. - This would avoid having to move Cyndaquil to second (change to box 3 to save, or just exit move w/o mail immediately)
  15.
  16.
  17. Choose boy (saves a decent chunk of frames over girl by having a shorter preset player name).
  18. Set time to 10:00am (not fighting encounters anymore, so default time is fastest).
  19. Name character MAT (preset). The player name needs to be 3 characters for the Cyndaquil manip to work.
  20. Talk to mom. A/B/A/A to her 4 Yes/No questions.
  21.
  22. Cyndaquil manip (DVs = E9xx, IGT = 59/60 success rate)
  23. - Video: https://youtu.be/zqTlMDVPg0o
  24. - Paste (IGT info): https://pastebin.com/7MfAkLMw
  25. - Paste (all adjacent frames): https://pastebin.com/aBu1Lxm8
  26. - Approach Cyndaquil from the left and save
  27. - Buffer inputs until the screen after Continue, then time the A press to advance (A press comes ~13.604 seconds after hard reset for GBP/GSR, ~13.064 for GBI; can use EonTimer, or use game audio as a cue)
  28. - Can either alternate inputs (as in video), or keep B held during textboxes and time all textbox inputs with A.
  29. - Stats are set after clearing the "MAT received Cyndaquil" textbox
  30. - Give Cyndaquil a 1 character nickname ('A')
  31.
  32. > TECHNICAL NOTE: In the future, it is plausible to attempt extending Cyndaquil manip into an encounterless path up to Mr. Pokémon. In this case, you would not nickname Cyndaquil for simplicity. The only reason for the 1 character nickname is it is a marginal timesave over not nicknaming.
  33.
  34.
  35. Optionally, check Cyndaquil's stats and TID for safety
  36. - L5 stats are 19/11/10/11/10/11
  37. - Takes ~6 seconds to check, can be skipped if confident with both manips (male, 19 HP, expected damage from rival, and L6 stats are indicators of correct DVs; there's no way to check TID later on, though)
  38.
  39. Run from all encounters to Mr. Pokémon.
  40.
  41. Rival
  42. - (swap Leer and Tackle) + Leer + Tackle x4-6
  43. - Potion for safety if you can't kill and Scratch kills you
  44. - You need to learn Smokescreen for the ACE, so you must win this battle
  45. - L6 stats: 21/13/11/13/11/13
  46.
  47. Go back to lab, name rival 1 character ('A').
  48.
  49. Tackle/catch your first encounter on second Route 29 pass
  50. - Tackle x2 for consistency (unless 2nd is a threat to kill), Tackle x0-1 for WR attempts
  51.
  52. Enter Cherrygrove Center, immediately go to 2nd floor PC.
  53.
  54. Rename boxes:
  55. - BOX 1: T 0 'v é N 5 'v 's
  56. - BOX 2: é n 6 'v f é R 5
  57. - BOX 3: f é o 6 p é é 6
  58. - BOX 4: é 5 5 <PK> <PK> 'd (NOTE: <PK> is just the first half of the stylized Pokémon symbol)
  59.
  60. > TECHNICAL NOTES (for Box 4):
  61. - 2nd character can be anything (ACE overwrites it anyway)
  62. - any characters typed after the 'd are ignored by the ACE
  63.
  64.
  65. Move w/o Mail to save, move Cyndaquil to 2nd in party.
  66.
  67. Friendly clone:
  68. - Deposit top Pokémon in party
  69. - Switch to Box 2 and hard reset during save. (Slightly faster to save with Move w/o Mail, but the reset cue is trickier.)
  70. - On GBP/GSR: hard reset after second 'F' in 'OFF' (in 'SAVING ... DON'T TURN OFF THE POWER.')
  71. - On GBI: hard reset shortly after full text is displayed (roughly a quarter of a second)
  72. - Both friendly clone (L6 w/??? in nickname) and bad clone (L0) work for this route
  73.
  74. On reloading save:
  75. - Go down 1 tile, then right 4 tiles.
  76. - Open Pokédex and scroll to Spearow's location (scrolling inputs depend on which Pokémon you've seen)
  77. : if you saw any of Hoppip/Caterpie/Weedle/Metapod: 2 right + 2 up
  78. : otherwise, if you saw Sentret: 2 right
  79. : otherwise, if you saw Rattata: 2 right + 2 down
  80. : otherwise, (you only saw Pidgey): switch to old Pokédex mode, scroll to #21 (3 right + 1 up)
  81. - Close out of Pokédex, go left 4 tiles then up 1 tile to get back to PC
  82.
  83. Open PC and go to withdraw screen. If you got the friendly clone, there will be a white screen; press B a few times to advance through it.
  84. - Early = no clone, Late = clone w/normal nickname, Very Late = deposited w/no clone. (Friendly clone window is ~1 frame, including the window for bad clone)
  85. - If you missed, try to clone again, repeat until you get it
  86.
  87. Close PC (don't actually withdraw the clone).
  88. Go downstairs. Talk to Red and win.
