Crewe railway station incident update
Cheshire Police continue to work with British Transport Police and Engineers concerning an explosion that occurred earlier this evening. Manholes in the area were blown off and work is ongoing to establish the cause of the explosion but police are treating it as suspicious at this time. The incident near to Crewe mainline railway stationhas resulted in the station being closed although trains continue to run thorough the station, all roads leading to the station are currently closed and motorists are being advised to avoid the area. 2 people who were injured in the incident are receiving treatment at hospital.
