  1. Thoughts on MLP: FIM Season 4 episode 3
  2.
  3. The plot basically consists of the mane six(sans Pinkie Pie) going into a haunted house(Celestia and Luna's old castle) and getting scared.
  4.
  5. Not really much to say about this episode, besides the fact that the ending was really predictable.
  6.
  7. Since the show is a comedy first and everything else second, it was not scary at all, though this should be expected from a show about technicolored ponies.
  8.
  9. The episode starts off with Spike and Twilight getting a letter from Celestia, and they go into the castle in the Everfree. The scene changes to show Applejack and Rainbow Dash covered in bees in an attempt to see which pony is the bravest. Pinkie Pie is with them, but leaves to ring the school bell. The gay pony and the mud pony then go into the castle to see who is bravest, and Fluttershy and Rarity also go in because Rarity wants to restore the decor of the castle.
  10.
  11. The rest of the episode is followed by AJ's group and Fluttershy's scaring each other on accident, with Spike getting scared because of the racket that the other two groups are causing. Oh, and Twilight reads most of the episode.
  12.
  13. None of the groups know that the rest of the mane six(and Spike and Angel) are in the castle, causing Spike, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack to believe that the place is haunted whenever one of the members does something that unknowingly causes them to interact with another.
  14.
  15. The last few "scares" involve the four scared mares getting separated from each other, and when they finally run into each other(the four of them butt bump each other, which was hot), chaos erupts, causing Twilight to finally stop reading and she calms everyone down.
  16.
  17. The next part AKA the finale consists of them finding the pony that is causing the building to function weirdly(the walls keep flipping/spinning, for example). This is where my only flaw comes in.
  18.
  19. The twist is that Pinkie was controlling all of the traps and such. My issue with this isn't the twist itself, but the fact that:
  20.
  21. 1: Too obvious, since Pinkie never got a scene in the castle.
  22.
  23. And
  24.
  25. 2: Everyone thinks it's impossible to be a bell ringing for school during the DAY to come into the castle and play the organ at NIGHT.
  26.
  27. The episode ends with everyone agreeing to write a journal, which felt like an excuse to do friendship lessons 2.0.
  28.
  29. As an episode on it's own, it's pretty decent, but it's part of the box story arc from the premier, and added nothing to it.
  30.
  31. I thought the episode was good. 7-8/10.
