  1. A Blackmans Struggle
  2.
  3. Tell me how do I face what I saw?
  4. A man losing his life has me in like awe.
  5. I don't know how to process these feelings,
  6. I almost feel lost, like a man staring at ceilings.
  7. They treat us as if our life is worth a piece of lent,
  8. But you Lord said we are heaven sent.
  9. My black skin is not a curse that I am trapped in,
  10. It's a reflection of your glory that I'm wrapped in.
  11. Father why do people hate us so,
  12. And it seems like the hatred in their heart they won't let it go.
  13. How do I protect myself when all I see is hate,
  14. I can gently hear you whisper wait.
  15. The world may hate you but I love you the way you are,
  16. I see your skin as a jewel not a scar.
  17. I know it's hard the things that you face,
  18. But I promise not to leave you alone in this place.
  19. I know how you feel I share your pain,
  20. And I know how it feels to have people look at you with disdain.
  21. When I hung on the cross they mocked me and treated me with scorn,
  22. All so I could see you with my glory adorn.
  23. So when the world treats you with contempt,
  24. Know that from these things I wasn't exempt.
  25. You can always tell me how you feel,
  26. I will be here to reassure you that my love for you is real.
