  1. Light Turbulence
  2.
  3. >Be Anon
  4. >Have no magic
  5. >Be busying yourself by making your fingers follow a Pegasus around
  6. >Twilight walks up
  7. >"Anon what are you doing?"
  8. "I'm controlling that pony and making it fly."
  9. >Twilight looks up, seeing the Pegasus going about his day
  10. >"Anon, that's just a normal Pegasus."
  11. "And?"
  12. >"He has wings. He can already fly."
  13. "So? I'm doing it anyway. No one ever said he had to not have wings."
  14. >You sit silent for a while, your fingers trailing with the Pegasus as he loops in the air while practicing.
  15. >"Alright Anon, that's enough. You've got better things to do."
  16. >You look towards Twilight incredulously, hands still pointed towards the Pegasus.
  17. "More important than helping a pony live out his dream?"
  18. >"Anon, he's a PEGASUS. He KNOWS HOW TO FLY. Stop messing around."
  19. >She goes to swipe your hands down, making you lean right. The Pegasus idly drifts in the same direction.
  20. "Woah, careful! That guy has nerve damage in his wings from birth! He can't fly on his own!"
  21. >You straighten yourself, the Pegasus happening to trail in that direction for a market stall.
  22. "See?"
  23. >Twilight rolls her eyes.
  24. >"Right."
  25. >You beam at her, going back to work with the pony. Your fingers flick up as he lifts off the ground.
  26. "Good to see we understand each other. Now let me just get this little guy home..."
  27. >"I wasn't-! I don't buy /any/ of this, Anon. You can't even do magic!"
  28. "Zecora taught me."
  29. >"NO SHE DIDN'T!"
  30. "She taught you, didn't she? She's a zebra. She can do it, so can I."
  31. >"Just put your hands down already!"
  32. >She takes another swipe, making you have to fall over to the side to keep in control of your arms.
  33. "Hey!"
  34. >The Pegasus arcs downward, ready to scrape the ground for a landing before you stand up. Hands elevated, he grazes the dirt with his hooves before soaring high.
  35. >You let out a sigh of relief, turning a glare onto a surprised Twilight. She shakes it off.
  36. >"Coincidence! Now stop this nonsense and let's head back to town!"
  37. "What's it even matter to you?"
  38. >"You're acting illogically. It's not good for you!"
  39. "Pfffft. You just wanna spend time with me."
  40. >You wander a bit to the right, following the Pegasus as he makes his way towards the other side of town.
  41. >"Alright, that's it."
  42. >You hear a hum of magic from the side of you and begin to notice a weight on your hands. You turn to look at Twilight's horn then back to your hands, seeing the purple aura growing.
  43. "Twilight, stop."
  44. "This is for your own good."
  45. "Lives are in danger here, Twilight!"
  46. >"Not buuuying iiiit~."
  47. >You begin to tug back against the downward pressure on your hands. The pegasi in the distance begins wobbling in flight, his wings flapping out of sync and sending him into slow spins.
  48. "Would you just stop focusing on your magic for a second and look to see what you're doing?"
  49. >"I know what I'm doing - I'm putting your hands down!"
  50. "You'll be putting down a Pegasus if you keep that up!"
  51. >The aura gets stronger and stronger, your ability to fight back weakened with every second. You can see Twilight wincing in her attempts to force you down.
  52. "This isn't funny, Twilight!"
  53. >"No, it isn't!"
  54. "I'M SERIOUS!"
  55. >"SO AM I!"
  56. >Twilight huffs under the strain, your form giving admirable resistance. Pulling a dirty move, she switches her focus to your legs, toppling you over.
  57. "Nooo!"
  58. >"Yes!"
  59. >You topple over, immediately shambling back up in a sitting position. Twilight's jumping up and down a bit in victory, but your eyes are peeled on the town.
  60. >When she finally stops, she looks over to you, punching you softly in the shoulder.
  61. >"Aw come on Anon, it's not that bad. Now let's get to the library, I've got some new editions we can go over."
  62. "...look what you've done."
  63. >"Anon?"
  64. "He just wanted to live his dream..."
  65. >Twilight begins waving her her hoof in front of you.
  66. >"Hellooooo? Equestria to Anon!"
  67. >You grab her hoof with your left hand, and stretch your right arm out to point towards town. Slowly, you move her hoof over to point to the same location.
  68. >Plywood is scattered across the street alongside a town house awning. Two market stalls are toppled over and a figure can be seen limp alongside a bale of hay. The stall owners are still getting their bearings, a few looking towards the hay-pile with covered mouths.
  69. "He was going to take the train home tomorrow to Vanhoover."
  70. >"I... I don't."
  71. >Twilight begins stammering, taking a few paces back then walking back and forth with each statement.
  72. >"You were just - it's not possible. Just messing around. You don't have magic, you CAN'T have magic, I. I just wanted to get you back at the library not - no I couldn't have. There was no way to - not reasonably. Scientifically its, but Zecora, I."
  73. >You stare at her, grim faced, before turning away and shambling off towards town and the fallen Pegasus.
  74. >"Anon, I, we knew it was just a game. Just a trick! You can't control anypony - not like that! Haha! It's just, just bad timing! Yes! An intricate, terrifying coincidence! Nopony's to blame! Nopony's in the wrong! It's just bad luck! The odds are.... ONLY one in a billion it was me! I couldn't have known - no one would have known! A mistake. Heheh... yes, yes, a mistake. Just a mistake. Right? Right, Anon?! Anon?"
  75. >Her voice began to fade as you neared the border of town. You didn't turn back around.
  76. >"Anon...?"
  77. >You move out of sight in the streets.
  78. >"It's...going to be okay. No one knows. Anon wouldn't say anything. He's our friend. Friend! That's what friends do! Keep secrets for each other, I know! I wrote about this! No, no, Anon won't say anything. We're good friends - goooood friends, yes. Ohoh! Oh.. oh oh oh...."
  79. >Walking down a side street from the incident, you see an ambulance up ahead. Standing by it, two Unicorns walk towards you with the crashed Pegasus on a stretcher.
  80. >The unicorns look about, and nod when they notice you walking around from the other end of the ambulance. You move over to the Pegasus and nudge him in the stomach.
  81. "All clear."
  82. >The Pegasus' eyes fly open. As he stands on the stretcher, he gives his wings a good flap and preens them, removing some of the dirt.
  83. >"I think that's one of my better performances, wouldn't you say, Anon?"
  84. "Can't say I've seen better, False Alarm. You make one hell of a stunt double."
  85. >"Yeah, that I do."
  86. >Your turn to the unicorns, smiling to each of them.
  87. "And thanks for helping out with this, guys. The crew makes it all the more authentic."
  88. >The unicorns smile back, the closer one at the head of the stretcher speaking.
  89. >"No problem, Anon. If this keeps Twilight off our backs for a few weeks about acquiring equipment to scan human anatomy with, it's worth it. No offense, but I don't need to be reminded of what's under your drawers on a daily basis."
  90. "None taken, and trust me, I like my drawers where they are."
  91. >You turn back to False Alarm, giving him a high five to the wing.
  92. "Was great to have you in town, man. Sure you don't want anything for this?"
  93. >"Nah, nothing for an old friend. I still remember what you did for my folks back in Vanhoover. Pops would have never got that housework done."
  94. "Well these hands gotta be useful for something. I'll catch ya later, 'Larm!"
  95. >"Cya, Anon. Hey, maybe I'll catch a glimpse of that purple one as I fly out, huh?"
  96. >You share a laugh as you part ways, you heading back towards the market to help clean up. Wouldn't be right to just leave the mess you helped make. Sure enough, Twilight was still going in little circles on the hillside, rambling to herself.
  97. "She'll get over it."
  98. >Today was a dickaround day.
