  5. [2015-12-30 15:14:53] <Kkat> 3Mitzi actually smirks at the sight of the dragon. All that smoke and memory and stars and soul talk had been very confusing. A big monster with teeth threatening her friends was far easier to understand, and had a much more straightforward solution.

He only let ponee doctor een aftur Fifi died. Looseen children eez horrible... UND YU DEED EET ON PURPOSE?!" She roars with rage and strikes the window with all of her considerable strength.

Concentrating on her link between her friends, CopyCat strengthens the bonds they share and prepares to channel her magic through their friendship itself. [Power of Friendship cast, Readying Action: Alicorn Shield (which will be shared through Power of Friendship) to cast at the end of her slowest friend's turn]
  26. [2015-12-30 15:32:45] * Bookwright swallows and tries to ignore the fact that the bottom seems to have dropped out of his stomach. Curls of honey-colored magic swirl around the Jukebox gun, and when it floats free of its holster it seems to flit about under a will of its own.
  27. [2015-12-30 15:36:04] * Bookwright more magic wells up under his hooves, and wraps bookwright in amber, before blowing away like dust and revealing a pair of beautiful monarch wings on his back.
  28. [2015-12-30 15:38:33] * Bookwright but the magic is still there! The sparkles of amber fly back into Bookwright at speed!
  29. [2015-12-30 15:39:37] * Golden_Dream tries to get behind something... And is very surprised when she's all of a sudden in a bubble.
  30. [2015-12-30 15:40:15] * Bookwright seems to be pelted by the magic, and it leaves him looking a little dazed.
  31. [2015-12-30 15:42:14] * Golden_Dream puts on her grr face, then decides to pull out her grenade launcher and pelt the dragon with grenades before the shields entirely up!
  32. [2015-12-30 15:54:34] <Kkat> 3Golden_Dream's grenade scorches the dragon's scales. While it doesn't look to have significantly hurt Her, the Mother of Balefire felt that through Her armor.
  33. [2015-12-30 16:21:28] * Shatara lifts off, dazzle-patterned armor gleaming in the light of balefire and guns bristling off his person. He had a rifle that could kill a tank, but his target was the size of a warship, so he looks for something vulnerable to disable.
  34. [2015-12-30 16:28:06] <Kkat> 3The Mother of Balefire is, ironically, exceptionally healthy. There are no obvious wounds or chinks in Her armor-like scales. Like with many creatures, Her least protected feature is Her eyes. However, something else catches Shatara's attention. The Mother of Balefire is wearing a necklace -- a golden chain holding a single stone.
  35. [2015-12-30 16:29:16] <Kkat> 3What strikes Shatara about the stone is that it is not a gem. Nothing that a dragon could eat, nor that would be fit for a horde. It is a large, ugly rock. About the size of a griffon's head.
  36. [2015-12-30 16:41:36] * Shatara notices the suspicous neck-rock. His first instinct is to crack it, in case it's providing some kind of magical buff, but decides its best to tug on Copycat's telepathic thread, and draw the attention of the more magically-inclined members of the party to it while he prepares his shots.
  37. [2015-12-30 16:46:50] * CopyCat takes heed of Shatara's discovery but she doesn't know what to make of it. She'll relay any of her friend's thoughts to Shatara, but right now she trusts in the catbird's instincts.
  38. [2015-12-30 16:54:37] * Shatara lines up on the odd rock and squeezes the trigger with the psychic reassurance of his friends.
  39. [2015-12-30 16:59:50] <Kkat> 3Shatara's shot cracks the rock, causing a chunk of the stone to break off and fall to the chamber floor below. The broken chunk reveals the core of bluish metal within the stone. And Shatara has won himself the full attention of the Mother of Balefire.
  40. [2015-12-30 17:00:04] <Kkat> 3She looks *cross*.
  41. [2015-12-30 17:02:10] * CopyCat sends a quick message to her friends: ['The Dragon's pendant is important to her!'] with a quick extra for Shatara: ['Um, dodge!']
  42. [2015-12-30 17:16:02] * Shatara goes pale as the bitch dragon's gaze bears down on him. "Uhm..." He points somewhere to his left. "...HE DID IT!" He wastes little time with a followup shot to the eye while diving away from the anticipated retaliation at CopyCat's urgence.
  43. [2015-12-30 17:40:09] <Kkat> 3The shot cracks one of the Mother of Balefire's scales, penetrating into the dragon. She roars.
  44. [2015-12-30 17:52:17] * Noble_Heart took a step forwards, spreading her wings and taking to the air inside the large chamber. Her attentions drawn to the necklace by Shatara's alarm and the subsequent shattering of part of it. ['Starmetal.'] Not what she would have expected to find here, but perhaps it shouldn't have been such a surprise. But considering the dragon's anger, she did see an opportunity.
  45. [2015-12-30 17:52:18] * Noble_Heart Concentrating her magic she attempted to wrench the amulet away through the non-space of teleportation. If it meant that much to the dragon, it would at least provide a distraction.
  46. [2015-12-30 18:10:35] <Kkat> 3The stone vanishes from the Mother of Balefire's necklace in a flash of light, appearing before Noble_Heart. It immediately begins to fall.
  47. [2015-12-30 18:12:38] * Golden_Dream rolls over to try to catch it!
  48. [2015-12-30 18:13:48] * Noble_Heart reaches out with her magic to grasp the stone before it falls. She had no intention of relinquishing it to the dragon again.
  49. [2015-12-30 18:15:03] * Golden_Dream immediately calls out. "Noble, wait! Lemme catch it! I have a bad, bad feelin'!"
  50. [2015-12-30 18:17:45] * Noble_Heart glances in Golden Dream's direction, before answering as her eyes move back towards the dragon. "She will doubtless try to reclaim it. We do not intend to allow her to do so."
  51. [2015-12-30 18:20:09] * Mitzi hurls herself at the window she shattered, catching the frame with a paw and letting herself start to fall downwards. She shoves her claws hard into the concrete and steel, letting gravity carry her downwards while the fricking of her claws shearing the wall slows her down.
  52. [2015-12-30 18:21:33] * Mitzi waits until she reaches the floor of the chamber in which the dragon resided before pushing herself hard off the wall and barreling into the monstrosity, diving claws first into her massive breast.
  53. [2015-12-30 18:27:57] <Kkat> 10Noble_Heart can feel the Presence inside the stone. It speaks to her. No, *they* speak to her. This is not the telepathy that she is used to. They speak directly from... and through... the soul. Because that is what they are.
