274.

 275.
The youngest of three, Gabriel Jones always had these tough expectations set upon him after his two older siblings grew to be smart, hard working, and successful in everything they did even at young ages. The same was always expected of Gabriel. As much as he hated it, he still managed to meet those expectations. In a world where being perfect was scored and mattered, the Jones family took that to heart - and that included Gabe. With these expectations and high priorities, he did his best to be like his brother and sister. Unfortunately, he seemed to fall short compared to his siblings's greatness. No matter how hard he worked, it was always compared to his older siblings, never did he set the bar.

 276.
 277.
Despite the unrealistic standards the Jones family held, Gabe was close to all of them, even if often times he held a certain resentment towards his siblings. It was chalked up to simply sibling rivalry and Gabe knew that at the end of the day, he would do anything for his family and vice versa. That's how he grew to be such a family man.

 278.
 279.
With being a family man, he always knew he would want a family of his own one day. That's how he found himself being a hopeless, often times cheesy, romantic. All throughout high school, Gabe had a habit of trying to woo the girls in his class. He wasn't the type from woman to woman, but simply jumped from romance to romance. Some girls just weren't as serious with relationships as he was. That never diminished his feelings on romance, however, always holding on to hope that the right person whom he'd start a family with was out there somewhere.

 280.
 281.
Even with being an in love with love teenager, that didn't stop him from focusing on the main goal - success. While his sister had her sights on being a lawyer and his brother was a doctor, Gabriel's goals weren't as prestige. He had his heart on being an architect. The boy always had a love for design, especially architectural ones. Instead of drawing up an action scene or flowers, Gabe had always been one to spend his time drawing his dream homes or buildings he would one day like to be a part of building. Although skeptical at first, his parents soon became on board with the idea of him being an architect when they realized how successful one could be in that profession.

 282.
 283.
After working his ass off in high school to get into his dream school, NYU, to study architecture, he got in. Not only was it a great school, but it got him away from home for a while. It wasn't that he hated Connecticut, but he felt like he needed a change in scenery. Besides, while his siblings got into the ivy league schools he couldn't get into, he knew he didn't needed an escape to leave their shadows for a few years.

 284.
 285.
It was there during his junior year that he met Laurel during a football game where he not so smoothly spilled his drink on her. Despite the messy first meeting, they soon hit it off and it didn't take long for Gabriel to fall for Laurel. A few years of them graduating college, they married and moved to Connecticut. Gabe found success as an architect in Stamford, working at a huge firm. However, as successful as he was, he still longed for a firm of his own. The two talked about it and agreed to save up for it. However, when the time came for them to want to have a baby, it was a struggle that resorted to them using their savings for fertility treatments.

 286.
 287.
The treatments had worked until they didn't. Laurel was only four months pregnant when she had a miscarriage. A devastation the two of them couldn't handle, things began to fall apart. Gabe was more distant from his wife as the loss of his child hit him harder than he could ever express. He was spiraling and in a moment of weakness as he no longer felt like himself, he cheated on Laurel with a colleague at the firm. It had gone on for a couple months before the guilt was eating at him. Revealing the truth to Laurel, it was inevitable the two settled on a divorce.

 288.
 289.
The divorce took a huge hit to his DEI score, causing him to lose his job and having to settle as a low end front desk clerk. He didn't think things could possibly get worse until his newly ex-wife came to him to re-evaluate their DEI papers after settling their divorce.
