However, the trip there turned out to be more than mere nostalgia, as it turns out that parts of the school still cling to a pale immitation of life
[13:06] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 In the process, Twerp, ever loyal to Keen, was grievously wounded by a combination of magical energy blasts and some form of bizarre magical sound. Keen managed to save his life, but the Changeling-do-well will likely be out of commission for some time. However, with the obstacle of deadly noise removed, things will hopefully progress quickly, allowing the group to depart from this awful place. Right?
07[13:09] * @Wraith` isn't too particularly fond of remembering what he heard happened in this place oh so long ago. Less so of the fact the freaky security systems were trying to still kill em all. 'Butcher Pete' at the ready, the grizzled ex-soldier speaks in his gravely voice, "I wonder what other strange shit is goin on... this makes our situation pretty damn bad. From here out we need to

07[13:11] * +Fire_Lily definitely hopes that means they can leave soon. This place is really creepy, and dangerous, it seems.
07[13:12] * +Primer stands silently by the door, keeping her heavy ordinance on the corridor. Goddesses this place sucks the root...
15[13:13] * +Karina is still quite invisible. She quickly writes down something on her clipboard and holds it out for all to see. 'Should I give Keen the cloak, let him go up alone to shut off security, then let us all get out of here?'
07[13:15] * +Keen was trying very, very hard not to climb under the bed of the clinic and just have a good old fashioned panic attack. He was trying to keep all those bad memories at bay. He was trying to push his memories of melted flesh out of his mind, to try to forget how quickly a life can be taken.
07[13:16] * +Keen was failing, and currently was propping himself up on the wall,  gasping for air like it was precious life itself.
07[13:17] * +Primer sighs in the comforts of her sealed suit. "I don't think he's up to it..."
07[13:17] * @Wraith` looks at the clipboard and says, "We came here for a reason. Can't just up and leave now... right Keen?" the ghoul looks towards Keen and finds him gasping for air. Staring at the stallion for a moment, the decepit stallion frowns then marches over to the panicking pony. With very little strength, which still probably felt like a good slap with the back of his hoof, he slap
07[13:17] * @Wraith` the pegasus and says, "Keen! Focus!"
15[13:19] * +Karina blinks over at Keen and sighs. Oh this was just wonderful... Now she was contemplating just going up herself and hoping the terminal didn't need to get hacked into...
07[13:20] * +Fire_Lily frowns. She sits with Twerp while Keen was... sorting himself out.
[13:21] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Twerp was sleeping somewhat peacefully, though the anesthesia probably contributed to that
07[13:22] * +Keen snaps to attention and buckled only for a brief moment, stumbling to his attention. "... Right, right. I'm here. I can do this." He didn't sound terribly convinced, his tone was the same of an addict trying to set his own goal that he had made too many times before. Twerp frying. Zebras frying. Same feeling. "I'm... I'm fine. Really." He lied. "What needs doing?"

07[13:24] * @Wraith` blinks at Keen and says, "This is your damn show, we came here because you needed us to. There's a green blip on the EFS we were going to remember?" Stomping a hoof, the stallion gets in Keen's face and says quietly, "Objectives Keen. Our primary one is to get the fuck out of here alive. Secondary objective is finding out what the green blip is, got it?"
07[13:25] * +Primer keeps her watch on the corridor, EFS be damned. She didn't quite trust the damn things to be accurate.
[13:27] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Primer can see most of the red blips moving around, although lack of visual suggests they're on a different level. However, two of them are stationary, and rather close to that single green mark.
04[13:30] * +Keen looks at Wraith and stares at him, getting his composure together. "... Right. Right. " He looks at Karina, looking like he's hardening himself for the moment, at least. Don't think about it. Don't think about it. "We aren't splitting up. I would rather go with you ponies." And zebra. Equines, whatever. "Which direction do we need to go?" He's only been in here twice, and never went to the headmatron's office.
04[13:31] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Keen can't actually see Karina.
07[13:32] * +Keen can hear her voice and guesses her location.
15[13:32] * +Karina hasn't said a word all day long.
07[13:34] * +Fire_Lily looks to Keen, worried. "What about Twerp...?"
07[13:38] * @Wraith` responds to Keen, "I've never been here, I don't know the layout. You've actually been here, we need to find a route that isn't going to immediately result in our deaths."
07[13:38] * @Wraith` adds, "A route that controls the barrier that's keeping us in this death trap."
15[13:39] * +Karina sighs and gets up and walks out to the stairway and peeks up towards the second floor.
04[13:41] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 A slight ringing in Karina's ears left over from the necromantic speaker interrupts her ability to hear anything, and there is nothing immediately visible
15[13:44] * +Karina wonders if she walked through a portal into some other weird space where nothing exists to be seen... but figures that a normal hallway and rooms are there anyway.
07[13:46] * +Keen rubs his mane. "... Okay, so, well. We can go see that green dot. If I had to hole up anywhere, it would probably be the headmatron's office. So, let's go there."
15[13:47] * +Karina crouches down and slinks up the rest of the stairway to get a look at the second floor.
07[13:50] * @Wraith` nods to Keen and says, "Alright." turning back he addresses the rest of the group, "We're Octavia Mellow. Stay frosty, you start feeling anything else strange, let us know asap. Someone get Twerp up, we're not leaving him behind."
04[13:52] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Karina can see, opposite the top of the stairwell, another classroom door of similar make to the ones one the first level. With her better vantage, she can now hear soft, slow hooffalls coming form the floor above. As well, something catches her eye. On the door that she can see, the name 'Professor Doo' is displayed in the nameplate.
07[13:54] * +Primer nods and keeps right next to Fire_Lily. She wanted to keep her littel sister safe, even if the filly was probably more than capable of taking care of herself.
15[13:54] * +Karina looks to see if that green blip is in the direction of Professer Doo's room.
07[13:55] * +Keen sighed and fetched Twerp. Holy hell, exoskeletons are heavy. Keen wished that Wraith would quit it with the military jargon. At least here, but in general to be honest. He had to fight the urge to explain it, which just made it kind of just made him look like an idiot.
04[13:56] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The green blip appears to be farther down the hall to Karina's left, although it's hard to say which floor it's on.
[13:57] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Twerp probably only seems heavier that he actually is because he has the dead weight of someone who's been anesthized.
07[13:57] * +Fire_Lily feels a little better now that they wouldn't be leaving Twerp behind. She sticks with Primer while they get going.
15[13:58] * +Karina looks up at the cieling at the hooffalls... Those must be some -heavy- hooves if she can hear it through the floor. She slinks a bit farther down the hallway, slowly, keeping a careful eye for anything out of the ordinary.
04[13:59] * @Wraith` looks for Karina and notes she was heading off, looking back to Keen he asks, "Is the head matron's office up these stairs?

04[14:00] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Once she actually emerges into the Hallway, Karina can see the source of the soft hooffalls. They're ponies. Foals to be exact. Three of them aimlessly wandering the hallway. All three appear as Red on her EFS

04[14:06] * @Wraith` isn't too reassured by that comment, as he goes up. Oh he also totally didn't look towards Karina, as she was just virtually undetectable by any means for the ghoul. He also adopts a sneaking stance, as he goes up the stairs with his weapon ready.
07[14:07] * +Fire_Lily nods slightly. "Yeah... it's just really creepy here..." She shivers a bit.
07[14:07] * +Primer twines her tail with Fire_Lily's for reassurance. "Don't worry, we'll be done here and out in just a tic."
04[14:08] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The foals that Karina can see look decayed, like ghouls, but there also something strange about them. Each of the three appears to be wearing a school uniform, except that said uniforms have bonded to their hides.
07[14:10] * +Keen takes a rather strange route to where he thinks the head office is. It's a little circuitous since he's taking taking the tour route of the building.
07[14:10] * +Fire_Lily is thankful for the comfort.
15[14:11] * +Karina stops and blinks. Feral... ghoul... foals... That's just... Not even... Not even fair. She brings her gun up to aim at their heads, maybe put them out of their misery... then thinks twice about firing. Stupid magical security system might detect bullets or some crap and start stuff. Instead she lowers her head and tries to weave through the children, staying as far away from them as she can as she makes her way to the far side of the hall.
04[14:11] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 According to the map Karina picked up, the Meadmatron's office is on the fourth floor, while the security office, for which Karina herself had been heading, is on the third.

04[14:12] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 As Karina slinks past the ghoul foals, one of them seems to be trying to enter a classroom, only for the door to be shut. She kept running into it obliviously.
15[14:13] * +Karina shakes her head a little bit, then walks up the next set of stairs to peak through the third floor.
07[14:18] * @Wraith` sneakily makes his way up to the second floor and spots the shambling... ghoul foals... poor children. They were better off dead, not trotting mindlessly in a forgotten school. If not for their predicament, he would end their misery, but for now there was the task at hoof... speaking of hooves, he lifts a hoof to motion for the group to wait and motions with the same said
07[14:18] * @Wraith` limb for silence from the group, indicating something is around.
[14:20] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Leading the rest of the party through the dorms, Keen passes by a number of dorm rooms. If anypony were to chance a peek inside, they would see some poor foal's Skeleton fused to their bed, having choked to death in their sleep. Occasionally one might be seen at a table, fused to a textbook while doing long overdue homework
04[14:23] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The third floor is much like the first and second. Classrooms down each hall, occasionally interrupted by a set of bathrooms or office. One of which Karina recognizes as the security office that she was headed for.
15[14:24] * +Karina takes a quick looks around, then slowly slinks towards the security office, again carefully watching out for anything out of the ordinary.
07[14:26] * +Fire_Lily is definitely not looking into the rooms. This place is creepy enough as it is.

04[14:27] * @Wraith` blinks as he is by himself. Alone... as far as he can tell since he can't see, hear, or detect Karina in the least. Getting fairly frustrated as death loomed behind every door as far as to his knowledge, the disgruntled stallion sends a message to everyone via pipbuck typing, 'Where are all of you? We are not supposed to be splitting up.'

07[14:28] * +Primer walks silently along after Keen, glancing occationally into some of the rooms. "Are you sure this is the right way?"

15[14:31] * +Karina checks he half-message that came through on her pipbuck, and slinks back through the hallway and taps Wraith` twice on the familiar spot on his shoulder, making sure she was out of the way if his reaction was attacking.
04[14:32] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The ghoul foals are unable to see Karina at all, and seem to be paying no attention to Wraith`
07[14:34] * @Wraith` turns to the tapping and whispers very quietly from his stealth position, "We need to stick together, you find anything so far?"
15[14:34] * +Karina pulls her clipboard back out and writes, 'Found the security office. Way seems clear.'
07[14:38] * @Wraith` motions to the ghoul children and whispers back, "We might need to take these ghouls out quietly, clear the way. There's no telling how many others there are."
15[14:39] * +Karina writes down for Wraith`, 'After the security is down, if possible'

07[14:43] * +Primer keeps her tail tightly wrapped with Fire_Lily's. "Right, just... keep alert. I don't like this place at all..." She continues following right behind Keen.

04[14:43] * @Wraith` nods and responds to Karina, "I'll stay here incase the other four show back up. Don't want them to stumble around."
15[14:44] * +Karina puts her stuff away and taps Wraith's shoulder again before slinking back down the hall, up the stairs, and towards the security office, still going slow and carefully.
[14:45] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Although the route through the doors is circuitous, it is also free of immediate dangers with the PA system disabled. Keen eventually leads the group up to the 4th floor, where the dorm building connects with the main school facility.
04[14:45] * +Primer shakes her head. "No, didn't say that either." She looked around in case she could pick up the green blip of Wraith or Karina. "We shouldn't have split..."
[14:47] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The green blip is plainly visible, stationary, and still accompanied by two of the red marks
15[14:47] * +Karina presumably gets to the security office and tries to access it.

04[14:54] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Despite the difficulty of the lock, Karina's practice pays off as she manages to get it open. However, upon opening the lock without a key, a turret pops down from the ceiling inside the office. It fires blindly at the door, unable to actually detect Karina

[15:02] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The security office is fairly spartan. One set of filing cabinets, a desk, a weapons locker, and a terminal on said deck

07[15:10] * +Primer shakes her head and continues. "I thought I heard gunfire."
[15:11] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Keen, Primer and Lily cross over to the main school building, fourth floor. Down the hallway, they can see a pair of ghoulified foals wandering aimlessly.
15[15:11] * +Karina tries three times and gives a grumble as she comes so close but fails anyway. With a sigh she resets the terminal and waits for the tries to start over.
07[15:11] * +Primer halts and stares. "What in the... oh..." She checks her EFS for a hint.
[15:12] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Keen can also hear the gunfire from the floor below, although it stops as suddenly as it started. The three signals for the turrets have appeared on the EFS as red
15[15:14] * +Karina moves a bit away from the terminal, then goes to head back down towards Wraith`. She writes on her clipboard then pokes his shoulder. 'Got into the office, couldn't get into the terminal. Will need Keen.'
04[15:15] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 As she moves through the hall, Karina can see the other two turrets scouting the area, but not firing anymore withotu a target

07[15:18] * @Wraith` still sits... getting edgy from hearing the gunfire. The mare could be bleeding out for all he knew... Trying his best to maintain his calm, the ghoul looks at the ghoul foals to see if they were attracted to the gunfire sounds.

[15:21] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The ghoul foals actually hear the gunfire, and start to move towards the stairwell
07[15:21] * +Fire_Lily freezes for a moment when she sees the ghoul foals. She definitely wants to leave now. She quickly ducks down in an attempt to be sneaky.
[15:22] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The two wandering foals on the fourth floor perk up at the sound of gunfire, turning around. Their eyes fall on Lily, Keen and Primer, resulting in them letting out roars that have no business coming from foals, and running towards the trio.
07[15:22] * @Wraith` moves out of the way of the ghoul foals to allow them to get shot down.
[15:23] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The foals ignore Wraith` and move up the stairs. Wraith can see the turrets track the foals as soon as they reach the floor, but surprisingly they are not fired upon.
07[15:23] * +Primer freezes. "Oh... oh no..." She didn't want to... she -didn't- want to!
[15:24] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The two ghoul foals on the fourth floor don't notice Lily, who is expertly hiding behind Primer
07[15:24] * +Kid flicks an ear up. "... Should we go and investigate?"

07[15:27] * +Primer snaps out of it and opens fire. "Keen, behind me!"
07[15:28] * @Wraith` blinks... why weren't they fired upon? Unless... these were special turrets and made so they didn't fire on the schoolfoals... fuck, not good. No doubt if these things had an EFS like him and that one crazy ghoul who abducted Primer, he wouldn't be able to sneak on these things...
07[15:29] * +Primer 's Light Machine Gun roars into life, stuttering and discharging its lead payload in machine fury.
07[15:32] * +Fire_Lily winces slightly at the sound of Primer's gun.
[15:36] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Primer manages three shots before the mechanism of her saddle catches on a misfiring round, immediately stopping fire to work through the jam. The trio of shots punch through the unicorn filly's left hindleg, and two of them embed deep into her torso. She stumbles and falls to the ground. The colt beside her keeps charging, oblivious
07[15:38] * +Primer swears loudly and begins unjamming the unfired round from the works, ready to punt back any foal that comes too close.
[15:38] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The colt plows his horn into Primer's front leg, although, still being a foal, the attack pretty much bounces off, Primer probably being barely able to feel it
07[15:40] * +Primer wonders if she stubbed her hoof on somethign.
[15:42] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Two more turrets pop down form the ceiling and spend a moment looking for the source of gunfire before eventually training on Primer
07[15:45] * +Primer looks about for a second, judging targets. Damn, things hit the fan fast... Switching to her GmG, Primer fired single shots alternitavly at the turrets until they gave up. Not wanting to cave in the building, but also wanting to give them much of a chance to spit lead or worse... lasers.

[15:46] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Primer is again notified through her cybernetic eyes that the turrents have moderate armour and above average durability (10DT, 80HP)
07[15:50] * +Primer also made shure that Fire_Lily was well behind her and safe from shrapnel and ghoulies.
[15:50] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Primer, with some help from her bizarre EFS updates, is able to pintpoint the sensative spots of each turret, blowing both of them out of the ceiling
07[15:52] * +Primer then refocuses on the ghoul foal working its way into her armor. "I'm... sorry..." she places the muzzle of the LMG against it's head and fires a burst.
[15:59] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Primer manages to pulp the head of the ghoul colt, the headless body of which slumps tothe ground, dead
07[15:59] * @Wraith` gets an idea and pulls out one of his railway spikes then taking off his helmet. Placing the helmet on the spike, he lifts it over the second floor to the third, slowly, to see if it gained any reaction from whatever was aabove.
07[16:00] * +Fire_Lily squeezes her eyes shut. That was pretty gruesome.
[16:01] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Keen, no longer having a target, lowers his weapon and just stares blankly at the two foal corpses.
[16:02] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The turret stops mid swivel as it spots the helment, then opens fire. Wraith` has cover from the stairwell's corner, but his helmet does not
07[16:03] * +Primer hangs her head and wanders off into a side room to take off her helmet. She slumps to the floor and sits there for a while... choking back tears.
[16:03] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The turret manages to get off three shots two of which hit the helmet, but the third misses and then, considering its age, the turret chokes on one of its own rounds.

[16:08] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Keen follows Primer into the classroom and slumps down next to her, shaking his head. He had long since shed all his tears for this place... or so he wanted to believe
07[16:09] * @Wraith` pulls his helmet back, unless it flies off. Yeah, just as he suspected... however the choking sound was promising...
[16:14] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The turret makes a bunch of noise as it tries to clear the jam
07[16:14] * +Fire_Lily follows Primer into the room as well. She sits next to her, very close.
07[16:15] * @Wraith` takes out one of his throwing spears and decides to take a gamble at hurling it at the source of the gunfire, then proceeding to duck back behind cover.

07[16:30] * +Fire_Lily stays with Primer. She's still making sure to stay sneaky, but she wants to stay as close as she can.
07[16:30] * @Wraith` pops up to throw another throwing spear, then go back down into cover.
[16:31] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The turret takes another hit, this time the spear lodging itself in the devices frame. It lets out a bunch of frantic bleeping that sounds irritated
07[16:35] * @Wraith` frowns at how stubborn these turrets were at not turning into paperweights... then again if he weren't throwing just spears at these things... Once more, he pops up to throw a throwing spear, however being a fairly speedy ghoul, he throws another spear at the other before ducking back down.
07[16:36] * +Primer continues on towards the Headmares office along with Keen, Twerp, and Lily.
[16:36] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 With the turrets out of the way, the path to the Headmatron's office is clear on the fourth floor. It also seems to be the location of  the green signal, and two stationary red ones.
[16:38] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Wraith manages to finish off the first turret this time, and gets a luck long throw on the second one, causing it to explode. There was still the terminal inside the security office though
07[16:39] * @Wraith` again lifts his helmet with the railway spike to see if there were any other pesky turrets.
[16:39] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 No other turrets emerge
07[16:39] * +Primer continues warily towards the green and red blips.

[17:18] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 She looks on, presumably in horror, as the ghoul filly she shot earlier gets back up, the sound coming from all around her body
07[17:18] * +Primer picks up the sound in the fog of her anxiety and looks around. Oh, things were just gettign worse and bloody worse.
04[17:20] * @Wraith` turns over to Karina and says in a frustrated tone, "No clue and I either he didn't get my message or something's happened to him." he then checks his pipbuck to see if he can track his wayward companions.
[17:20] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Keen can tell only that these two foal ghouls are slightly different from the ghouls he's seen before, but he can't quite pinpoint what exactly is different.
15[17:21] * +Karina holds up her own pipbucked leg. "In here, these don't work. Guess it's a necromantic magical quirk."
07[17:21] * +Primer blinks and looks on in horror as the filly gets back up. She shrieks and runs at the foal, tackling it and attempting to restrain it bodily. ""Why did you not stay down!"
[17:22] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The filly shriek and cries, and the Headmatron charges out of the office past Keen. She glares daggers at Primer at her horn lights up and she bellows; "YOU WILL NOT HARM MY STUDENTS AGAIN!"

07[18:04] * +Keen stares at the corpse of the headmatron. There went all his answers. Before he could even act, she died again. Keen just slumps down on the wall, mouth agape.

04[18:08] * +Primer facehoofs and counts to ten. "Kar, stop yelling." She then walks over to Keen and closes his mouth. "Keen, baby, I need you to focus right now, can you hear me?"
07[18:09] * @Wraith` trots over to the corpse of the ghouls, then sees Keen going into another emotional fit... Oh great... This is just going to go swell...
15[18:09] * +Karina looks at Primer and stops. Her coltfriend... her coltfriend...
07[18:10] * +Fire_Lily probably would have done something to the ghoul for attacking her sis, but she never got the chance. She runs to Primer and whispers, "Are you alright?"
07[18:11] * +Primer nods to Fire_Lily and strokes her mane. "I'm fine, a little charred around the edges but fine." She returns to trying to gain Keen's attention.

He looked into Primer's eyes, and mimics a thought she had about him. How did she get up after that? He stumbles into the matron's office and solemnly got to work.

07[18:58] * @Wraith` goes wide-eyed dumfoundedly... How... did she get back up?! "What the fuck?" he says quietly... "Hey!" he says to her.
