- TERROR SCOTLAND
- Police terrorise a Scottish scientist
- Aberdeen home of scientist raided by police *:-& sick
- Computer with irreplaceable science data seized *=(( broken heart
- Bail conditions to gag internet publication imposed *:-$ don't tell anyone, shh!
- Kingdom's policing "not like the Gestapo" claims detective *8-| rolling eyes
- I am Peter Dow, a scientist, who has published new scientific and engineering concepts and proposals regarding -
- making renewable energy more competitive, efficient and practical
- mathematics to maximise energy generated from wind turbines 'farms'
- a design for a super-sized hydro-electric pumped-storage scheme
- an approach towards a cure for cancer
- a prototype of a cheap cryo-surgical instrument - my 'freezerbaton'
- H-shaped super-bricks for assembling stronger, lighter structures
- other published ideas in various scientific fields
- I also had research data for the above and for other, as yet unpublished, science and engineering research-underway which was held on my computer equipment but which was seized by Police Scotland in their raid of my home in July 2014.
- I require my computer equipment and the essential data on it returned to me forthwith to allow me to continue with my scientific research but the police and prosecutors have not authorised the return of these, my most valuable possessions, despite my requests.
- The value of my science research data is not only to me personally but my data has a high value for the people who may benefit as and when I am able to use my data to continue to make progress in science.
- So the police and prosecutors are holding on to my equipment, which they don't actually need for their ridiculous pending prosecution of myself in Aberdeen Sheriff Court regarding my republican political tweets (details of their flimsy, trumped up case and my defence to their charge are appended below).
- A fellow scientist, Professor Jon Godwin of Glasgow Caledonian University has supported my request for the return of my computer equipment, as outlined in the attached image of the page "Scientists for Freedom of Expression in Scotland".
- Next I quote from Professor Godwin's emails to me ...
- "I should of course share your deep upset at having my research and the "tools of my trade" seized from me by the powers that be. .. what I might be able to do to help?
- commiserating with you over what seems a quite extraordinarily high-handed reaction to it, in particular considering the sometimes very colourful conversations one encounters daily on internet bulletin boards, etc etc. In particular, seizing your property in "evidence", rather than perhaps just copying whatever might be relevant to the possible case and then returning it, seems almost wilfully obstructive and I can only imagine your consternation as to what might become of it later."
- - Professor Jon Godwin, Glasgow Caledonian University, January 2015
- See the attached image "Scientists for Freedom of Expression in Scotland".
- Next I continue in my own words ....
- In holding onto my property unnecessarily, the authorities are imposing a terrible loss, not only to myself, but also to the interests of the public in Scotland and elsewhere.
- If there was any good system of justice in Scotland, these incompetent police and prosecutors would themselves be being prosecuted by a higher power for their reckless obstruction of human progress, which, in my view, amounts to a crime against humanity.
- The reality, however, is that rule in Scotland is by a puffed-up dictatorship of legalised gangsters who wreck the public interest at their whim and all must suffer at their heavy-hands.
- My elected representatives in the Scottish parliament seem to have neither the wits nor the courage to speak out with appropriate vehemence in opposition to Scotland's shambolic governance; though I have often asked my elected political representatives to intervene, they don't.
- So long as journalists keep giving those cowardly bums in parliamentary seats a sympathetic platform in the mass media then those parliamentarians' policy seems to be
- "to hell with scientific progress - indeed, to hell with anything which might require us politicians actually standing up to the powers-that-be in the interests of the public as we were elected to do" - MSPs @ Holyrood, MPs @ Westminster etc.
- IN SCOTLAND TODAY -
- Freedom is under attack!
- Science is under attack!
- This should be a political issue because the people do need changes to the government so as to robustly defend the rights for scientists and others not to be raided by Police Scotland and not have our essential equipment seized.
- STOP POLICE RAIDS ON SCIENTISTS!
- RETURN SEIZED SCIENCE DATA!
- FREEDOM FOR SCIENCE IN SCOTLAND!
- Yours sincerely

- PRESS RELEASE
- Hi journalists with an interest in Scotland, (70+ previously emailed)
- I appeared on BBC 2 Scotland, in December 2008, featuring for 10-minutes in a Scottish-produced human rights documentary, the New 10 Commandments. You can still read the BBC 2 Scotland webpage for that broadcast here. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00fz35z I've since uploaded a version of those 10-minutes I appear in to YouTube under this title Scottish republican socialist Peter Dow, author and protester In 1997, I was interviewed on Union Street, Aberdeen about the referendum to agree to have a Scottish parliament by Sarah Smith for Channel 5 News. That's the extent of my previous TV broadcasting experience though I have been heard on BBC Radio Scotland on the telephone a few times as well. So what's new? There is at this time, a pending prosecution of myself in Aberdeen Sheriff Court which has imposed bail conditions which have ordered me not to access twitter (@peterdow) or social media networking sites or my website of SCOT.TK Emails such as this one, I am still allowed to send, and you are allowed to read, but for legal reasons, journalists may not be allowed to report details of the particular pending court case, described below in my reply to the prosecutor, at this time but you have your own lawyer to advise you better than I can. My main priority at this stage is not to be seen to be flouting bail conditions with the risk that bail could be withdrawn and I could be imprisoned until trial. My secondary priority is nevertheless not to be intimidated by this pending court case, still try to get noticed, heard, read and seen. I'd like to remind people that I, Peter Dow, have not gone away because I've not gone away and I've no intention of going away. So if there is anything that you as journalists can do to help me to promote my politics (or my less-well-known science) I'd welcome your interest and invite any of you to email me or telephone me on 01224 583906 with suggestions. Who needs Twitter if I have journalists to help me to promote my views, right? Maybe you'd like to take some time first to read my website or my forum - find out what I have got to say for myself before getting back to me? Later, if and when this trial goes ahead, please report the trial, and if I get convicted and jailed, I would ask you please to do anything and everything you can to explain the miscarriage of justice to the public and campaign to get me released. Think Cause célèbre.

- Dear Sir / Madam,
- Further to my tweet to @Lawscot of 14th July and I quote

- and my arrest by Police Scotland on 27th July and my appearance in Aberdeen Sheriff Court on 28th July when bail was granted, please note my exception to Mr Shanks's charge against me being tried in any Queen's court, such as Aberdeen Sheriff Court on the grounds that this would constitute a breach of my human rights under the European Convention on Human Rights, specifically Article 6 - "fair trial" and Article 13 - "effective remedy", as detailed in my reply to Mr Shanks, copied below.
