  1. Name: The Expeditionary Force of the Xerxiad Caliphate
  2. Country of Origin: The Xerxiad Caliphate
  3. Country Fluff:
  4. The Xerxiad Caliphate is the oldest and largest civilization in the old world, standing at the very center as the border of the east and west.
  5. Thee spiritual and religious head of, Disclam, one of the great faiths of the world. Disclam holds that there is no one true god as there are no such things as false gods, and that ALL gods, all creeds, and all faiths known to man are real, even disbelief too. They make their presence known in the Kaaba, where many idols to their images are, and are worshiped by their many followers in their own way.
  6. Created millenia ago, they were united from numerous indepenant city states by the prophet, Pra-chet, not by war but by choice, who anointed the first Sultan, Xerxes I over them (a thousand blessings from a thousand gods upon him). Since then, they have grown exponentially, and not through simple conquest but a far more sophisticated manner, assimilation.
  7. A thousand nations form the Caliphate, stretching from deepest east to the ocean west, with people as numerous as the stars. Their flags and banners are as a colorful rainbow through a jewel representing the countless republics, kingdoms, and states which form up their ranks.
  8. The Caliphate believes in supporting and befriending small independent nations, opening up ways to recruit them, protecting them and their identities, while still beckoning them to join the cause. Ensuring the survival and prosperity of local cultures, beliefs, and freedoms yet integrated into the whole of the Calpiphate. Their main economic strength comes from trade within these many autonomous nations, their trade routes crisscross the world, and as such they hold an enormous share in the free market. This sets their kingdom to ever grow via perpetual inter-competition among the states, yet all working toward the same goal of expanding the Caliphate.
  9. Believing in spiritual and cultural freedom, they despite slavery in any shape or form. Their devotion to their independent constituents means they tend to be fierce enemies and earn a hatred from the older empires, who tend to be much more singular, dogmatic, and stronger in imperialistic rule or zealous faith. This has made them enemies with the zealous cultists of Rezla to their north, and the slaver kingdom of Voxila to their east, but these wars are but these are stagnant.
  10. The true fire and rage comes between them and the Imperia Espaniola, to where all civility seems to have ceased. The Caliphate has a foothold in the south of Espaniola, the Moorland Enclave, bitterly claimed as Espaniola territory who seek to expunge or even exterminate the local Disclam populace and wage eternal war to see the Caliphate destroyed, in the name of their “true god”. Their true god to whom they would set the torch to entire villages, women and children alike, for their beliefs no less!
  11. The Caliphate is, conversely friendly and in some cases unofficial allies and trading partners with small nations and independant kingdoms, who they seek to protect from being swallowed by larger empires (yes, even those that do not wish to join) in the hopes of one day, perhaps, it may not matter should they join or not. One day, as the prophet says, whole world will be as one and yet not one, as many yet not many. One world under gods and men, in peace.

  13. Another noted fact about them is that they have a penchant for privateering, mercenaries, and brigands. Unlike the other powers who refuse pirates and mercenaries, the Caliphate see's them as another opportunity to spread the faith and cause, and hires them out via letters of Marque (so long as they do not target friendly states). Most famously, the entire Barbaryan Pirates have sworn allegiance to them, and joined them in their war against Espaniola in the Moorlands.

  18. Nation Fluff:
  19. The Caliphate Colonial Expeditionary Force.
  20. The Caliphate prides itself on gunpowder and large ships. Not the first to discover gunpowder, they were its greatest admirer and proponent, inventing gigantic bombards and heavy mortars, and their access to numerous forested states provides them with an overwhelming supply of lumber and manpower.
  21. They favor large and extremely armed ships of gigantic size, as heavy ships of the line form the bulk of their navy. This is in stark contrast to the European and Eastern style, who favor lighter, more maneuverable and numerous ships such as destroyers and frigates and cruisers. Slow, but well armored and massively gunned on all sides, while notoriously easy to outpace at sea, it is known that only those who seek to catch a tiger by the tail tend to challenge a Caliphate ship without overwhelming numbers.
  22. The Expeditionary force has been sent on such a ship, to establish a colony in the new world, and see what new peoples there are to be taught the way of many ways, and to hear of the truth of all truths.
  23. Nation Type: Colony Multi-charter (that is, sanctioned by the Caliphate, but supported by funded by numerous states wishing to invest in the new world.)
