- Month X, day A
- Dear diary,
- I got lost again! Professor Kukui sent me off to Ha'oli city to buy some supplies, but instead I found myself at Iki town. Trying to find a way to the city, I only got lost even further, and on top of that, Nebby jumped out of the bag and onto a really dangerous-looking bridge. I wanted to follow him, but I'm scared of heights. And to make things worse, a group of Fearow tried to attack Nebby! Oh, it was so terrible. Good thing that boy saved Nebby for me, or something might've happened. As it turned out, he was setting off on his island challenge that same day. I'm around professor Kukui a lot, so I think I'll be seeing him again, too...

- Dear diary,
- As I thought, that mysterious boy (Sun? Elio? I didn't really catch his name)visited the professor's house today. He brought a friend, Hau, who's also just starting his challenge. Sometimes, the life of trainers seems so adventurous and carefree... [scribbled out] Hau is definitely the more mannered of the two. He tried to go up into the loft, but stepped down without complaining when I explained that I sleep up there. Sun, on the other hand... He must've heard me telling Hau that the loft is my bedroom, he was right there! But he went up anyway! I even tried to pull him down, but he just muttered something about 'exploring', 'hidden items' and 'fake doors'. Naturally, I followed him up to try and get him out of the loft as quickly as I could, but to no avail! He kept rooting through all of my things! He even tried to read you! He [scribbled out] laid on the bed!!! I must've been making a lot of ruckus while trying to stop in, because Hau came up, too! I'm so embarrassed! With his help, we were able to get Sun to leave the loft again, but still... Hasn't he heard of personal space?

- Dear diary,
- Sorry for the rough trip. I dragged you all the way to Mele'mele island before, and now I took you with me to Akala island. And what a beautiful island it is! I think it's even sunnier here than on Mele'mele. The hotel I'm staying at is beautiful, and professors Kukui and Burnett have offered to pay the room. Speaking of the room... When I arrived at the hotel, I noticed Sun was already. We had a little small talk, of course, but I noticed some weird things... I've told you before, Sun doesn't talk a whole lot. He mostly just smiles and listens. But he seemed put off by something. When I asked what was wrong, he told me that all the rooms are inaccessible to him. Why is that a problem? People sleep in those rooms! He insisted he wanted to find more 'items', he even asked if he could see my room at least. I told him no, even after his insisting.

- Dear diary,
- Sorry that it's been a few days, I've been busier than usual. Sun and Hau are progressing through their island challenges quite nicely! I didn't see Sun a lot, but I did tag along with Hau for a bit. He even convinced the trial captains to let me watch! Between his trials, we chatted a bit about this and that, and of course our mutual friend became the topic. Hau told me about the time he and Sun came across a Motel. Apparently Sun tried all the doors! He even entered a booked room! Has he never heard of privacy? I wonder if his mother locks her bedroom door... Enough about that for now. Tomorrow, we're going to Konikoni city for Hau's grand trial against hakuna Olivia. He told me there's a great restaurant there, and that he'll treat me to dinner if there's time!

- Dear diary,
- Sun and I went to Exeggutor island to gather the other flute. While we were there, it started raining! I'd only ever seen artificial rain in the conservation area before, and on TV. Luckily, there was a cave nearby, where we hid. It was a short, but not completely pleasant stop. The cave could barely be called one, you could fit five people in with a bit of shoving, but it seemed awfully cramped with just the two of us. Lucas kept moving, insisting on examining every nook and cranny while we were there. As I said, it was a tiny cave, so he didn't take long. When he was finished, though, he simply resorted to waiting out the rain. In the middle of the cave! There was someone else in there! [scribbled out] sometimes I [scribbled out] Sun may seem weird at times, but I shouldn't forget what he has done for me, Gladion and Hau.
