- >You sulk over your computer monitor.
- >Questioning the point.
- >Why do you come here?
- >Day after day.
- >You come to this image board, posting pony after pony.
- >Only to be told your waifu would never be real.
- >Life only continued to make you think about the inevitable.
- >Your existence will be short, and you won’t leave a mark at all.
- >Not even a scratch, saying 'I was here'.
- >Then you would die, and not even be rewarded for the things you did.
- >Because they'll be swept into non-existence with you.
- >You can't even cry, in fact you barely feel it.
- >Numb to the pain, you open the drawer to the left of your monitor on your desk.
- >Pulling an item out, you feel along the cold metal frame.
- >When was the last time you had this out?
- >Dust rubs off onto your fingers, finally free from what you held in your hand.
- >Would today be the day?
- >Why couldn’t he be real?
- >Your husubando, not waifu.
- >How could you ever be happy without him by your side?
- >Humans only hurt you, would a pony be different?
- >If only you could go to Equestria and meet him.
- >Even if he didn’t feel the same way, at least you could be near him.
- >Holding the item to your head, your mind continues to wander towards what it would be like there.
- >In Equestria.
- >You can’t help but smile, despite your situation.
- >Life was never as colorful as it is in the show.
- >Pulling the trigger, you hear a click; your smile doesn’t fade.
- >Your pain is over in an instant.
- >Your eyes open slowly; trying to stand, you groggily rub your aching head.
- >It’s a bit odd to wake up with a headache, but you shrug it off to look at your surroundings.
- >It… looked like an alleyway.
- >But something was off; the buildings didn’t look like any old building from your little town.
- >Where are you?
- >You make your way out, towards where you hope there are people to help you figure out where you are.
- >Maybe you’ll remember what happened last night if you give it some time.
- >Must have been a fun party if you feel this bad, and don’t remember shit.
- >As you exit the alley, you see a sight that stops you from being able to move, or even think for that matter.
- >The creatures that stood before you stare back in just as much shock.
- >This is not the town you lived in, you’re not even sure this is earth.
- >For the creatures before you were technicolor horses, and they weren’t sure what to make of you.
- >They weren’t until a small mint green pony came up to you; who started studying you.
- >Like you were some sort of lab rat that had taken some sort of medicine, and she was studying the effect it had on you.
- >”What… are you?” She says with a weak smile.
- >Her tone was a mix of excitement and fear.
- >You’re still in awe, you try to speak but words don’t come out.
- >”Can you talk?”
- “Y-you too…”
- >”Uh, wha? Do you have a name at least?”
- “It’s Anon…”
- >”I’m-“
- “Lyra.”
- >As the name leaves your mouth, you immediately regret saying it.
- >”Wow! You can read minds?! OR are you some secret spy that knew my name before coming here?”
- >She goes on about why you know her name, while other ponies attempt to pull her away from you.
- >They all seemed… Scared.
- >The thought of them being afraid never came across your mind while thinking about what it’d be like in Equestria…
- >Lyra finally calms down, but continues to eye you.
- >Not a single shred of suspicion in her eyes anymore.
- >”You should let me show you around Ponyville! I’ll help you get a place to stay if you need it too, unless you know where you’re going already?”
- “No, not really. I don’t know a lot about the area…”
- “Really should have finished season 3” you breath out.
- >”What was that last part?”
- “Oh, nothing.”
- >”Well alright.. Hmm, where should we start?”
- >She ponders on the thought for a bit while you stare back at the crowd staring at you.
- >It reminds you of that one episode with the zebra.
- >You almost chuckle at the thought.
- >They all probably thought you were some monster, yet you’re just a harmless human.
- >What if you could use this somehow to your advantage…
- >Eh, what’s the point.
- >You’re too beta for that anyway.
- >She shows you some of the main attractions and places to do things at, starting with Sugarcube corner.
- >Pinkie was even more ecstatic to meet you than Lyra, she didn’t seem to care that you were some odd creature she’d never seen before.
- >She just wanted to be your friend even more.
- >You still want to know where the shower of confetti and cupcakes came from the second she saw you.
- >At least you got a free meal, if you can call junk food a meal.
- >Ponies have some odd eating habits here.
- >As you leave the bakery with Lyra, making your way towards the next destination, you hear what sounds like a megaphone clicking on.
- >”BYE ANON, DON’T FORGET YOUR NEW FRIEND PINKIE PIE!”
- >You can’t help but laugh, despite all the ponies still eyeing you.
- ”Where next, Lyra?”
- >“Well, there’s so many places to go… But it doesn’t look like we have a whole lot of time.”
- ”We can pick up where we left off in the morning though, right?”
- >“Of course!”
- >Her smile makes you happy.
- >The ponies seemed to be scared of you for the most part, but she wasn’t afraid at all.
- >Your thoughts are interrupted by a pony flying straight through your view.
- >She was staring at you as if you challenged her to a staring contest.
- >She seems so familiar, you could swear you know her name.
- >Her intense gaze broke her focus in her flying it seems.
- >Rainbow... something...
- >She drops lower and lower before crashing.
- >Crash? Rainbow Crash? That's clos-
- >"Crap!"
- >Oh right, she just ate ground.
- "You... alright?"
- >”Shut up, you distracted me! What even are you?!”
- >The cyan Pegasus stood before fluttering up to eye level with you.
- >She’s visibly still flustered from her crash.
- >”He’s a human!” Lyra exclaims jumping between you and Rainbow to meet her gaze.
- >Speaking in between each hop, she continues to talk about you.
- >”He wears clothes… he’s tall.. and has noodly appendages that come out from where his hooves should be!”
- >All of a sudden, it’s like an epiphany had just come over her.
- >In a mint green flash, she’s now below you, holding your hands in her hooves.
- >”What are these things?”
- >You can’t tell if she’s asking you or your hands.
- “They’re hands. They’re not much different from hooves, except the noodly appendages called fingers can be used to wrap around things” you answer, wrapping your hands around her hoof for proof.
- >Not only is Lyra awestruck by this, but Rainbow too.
- >Must be weird to see something so different, not like there’s many animals with hands and fingers that use them as well as humans do.
- “Well anyways, should we get back to the tour?”
- >”Sure, unless you want to stop for the night; it is starting to get dark out.”
- “Where would I sleep?”
- >”Hmm, where do humans sleep… Oh! Do you sleep in sheds? I have a shed outside my house you can sleep in!”
- >She must have noticed the look on your face indicating otherwise, because she immediately seemed disappointed that she’d picked the wrong answer.
- >”No? Well if you want, there’s a couch in my living room you can sleep in for a few days.”
- “That sounds fine to me.”
- >You look around; realizing Rainbow had already left the scene entirely.
- >Lyra brings you back to her house, first showing you to your bed.
- >Next she shows you where some other features of the house were, like the kitchen.
- >She then leaves you to head off to bed upstairs.
- >You sit on the couch, inside Lyra’s comfy little house.
- >It’s a good thing Lyra is a bit more outgoing towards strange creatures, hopefully the others will come around as well.
- >You’ll make it work.
- >You lay down in the Small, almost cozy bed Lyra put together for you.
- >The ponies weren’t completely ready to accept you yet, but you can’t blame them.
- >You only just showed up a few hours ago.
- >At least they seem to understand that you didn’t come here by choice.
- >Looking out the small window, you see the final light from the sunset disappear as the moon rises.
- >You suppose it’s time for bed.
- >Eyes closing, you let the thoughts of what it’ll be like here keep you company as you fall asleep.
