[17:34]Natalie Mcbeef nod, "He probably does other illegal things as well, but he admitted the smuggling to me last night"
[17:34]Some other Person raises  both her brows.
[17:35]Natalie Mcbeef: "He told me Siha is one of his smugglers as well"

[17:36]Some other Person looks shocked.
[17:36]Some other Person: And he... admitted this to you?
[17:36]Natalie Mcbeef nods, "Words from his own mouth, under no duress"
[17:36]Natalie Mcbeef sighs, "I didn't even ask him"
[17:36]Some other Person: Why would he...
[17:37]Some other Person shakes her head, pinching the bridge of her nose with a frown.
[17:37]Natalie Mcbeef: "Because he loves me Roen"
[17:37]Some other Person: "He is a smuggler and has Siha working for--"  She pauses, not liking the sound of it even less the second time.
[17:37]Some other Person stares at her, lowering her hand.
[17:37]Natalie Mcbeef sighs, "He loves me and he said he wanted me to know"
[17:38]Some other Person stares at her, lips parted.  She closes them, knitting her brows in thought.
[17:38]Some other Person: So... what did you... say?
[17:39]Natalie Mcbeef pulls of her hat and fiddles with it, "Well... we went outside, I told him that I was going to arrest him"
[17:40]Natalie Mcbeef: "I was quite angry"
[17:40]Some other Person raises both her brows again.
[17:40]Natalie Mcbeef: "I had been lied to this whole time, about who he is, what he does"
[17:40]Natalie Mcbeef bites her lip, "I felt like a fool"
[17:41]Some other Person: ... Do you love him?
[17:41]Some other Person asks quietly.
[17:41]Natalie Mcbeef nods confidently, "I do"
[17:42]Some other Person exhales through her nose, pressing her lips tightly.  "That would be a difficult choice for you."
[17:42]Natalie Mcbeef looks off for the distance for a moment, "It was..."
[17:43]Some other Person: But... he was not arrested by you.
[17:43]Some other Person: He was ... attacked by the Flames instead.
[17:43]Natalie Mcbeef scratches the side of her chin, "Well it got worse..."
[17:44]Natalie Mcbeef: "I got rather heated, and was ready to strike him, when he pulled out a dagger"
[17:45]Some other Person 's eyes widen again.
[17:45]Natalie Mcbeef: "He said if I was going to hate him, he'd rather die, so my strike should be with a blade"
[17:45]Natalie Mcbeef laughs sadly, "He can be so stupid sometimes"
[17:46]Natalie Mcbeef: "He drew the blade so I would have cause for using my own"
[17:46]Natalie Mcbeef: "Thats when the Flame appeared"

[17:46]Some other Person: Ah.
[17:47]Natalie Mcbeef nods, "They demanded Kayah drop his blade, while I told them to keep out of it"
[17:47]Some other Person pinches the bridge of her nose again with a frown.  Then she briefly glances to her hand, shaking it as she lowers it back down.
[17:47]Natalie Mcbeef: "He just kept shouting at the Flame to arrest him"
[17:49]Some other Person shakes her head.  "Perhaps he did not want the onus to fall on you.  Or... something."
[17:49]Natalie Mcbeef: "When he wouldn't drop his dagger the Flame cast some sort of spell to heat it, it became so hot it melted into his hand. I threatened the flame with my blade until she stopped"
[17:49]Natalie Mcbeef sighs, "He might have, but in either case, afterwards the flame tried to arrest as both"
[17:50]Some other Person: Because you were trying to stop their use of excessive force?
[17:51]Some other Person: That is no ground to arrest you.
[17:51]Natalie Mcbeef nods, "I tried to explain what was going on, but as I did so more flames appeared"
[17:51]Natalie Mcbeef: "Kayah went with them at first, but when they moved to arrest me as well he went berzerk"
[17:51]Natalie Mcbeef: "He was mortally wounded in the struggle"
[17:52]You sense something amiss with Some other Person.
[17:52]You cringe with pain before Some other Person.
[17:53]Some other Person: I heard he was left behind.
[17:54]Some other Person: Is... is that true?
[17:54]Natalie Mcbeef: "When I refused to sheathe my weapon they attacked me as well, I did not fight back though, I am unwilling to kill a fellow defender of this city, regardless of the circumstances"
[17:54]Natalie Mcbeef nods, "While the original flame took me to headquarters, the others thought him dead and left his corpse on the street"
[17:55]Natalie Mcbeef: "They were more concerned about coralling bystanders and getting statements than they were about his  health"
[17:55]Some other Person shakes her head, deep frown still lingering.
[17:55]Some other Person: That is... not right.
[17:56]Natalie Mcbeef: "Once we got to headquarters though, it became clear that they had no solid evidence to detain me on"
[17:56]Natalie Mcbeef: "I am a sultansworn, I can draw my weapon in the city if I wish"
[17:56]Natalie Mcbeef: "So I left, and returned to the scene, to find Kayah dead"
[17:56]Natalie Mcbeef shakes her head, "No.. not it was not right"

[17:58]Natalie Mcbeef nods, "I tried healing magick, but it had no effect, fortunately I had a phoenix down on my person, and he had recently passed"
[17:59]Natalie Mcbeef: "It worked, and with the limited healing skills I posess, I was able to return him to the land of the living"
[17:59]Some other Person blinks, the shock still slow to abate.
[17:59]Natalie Mcbeef: "If It had been any longer.." she bites her lip, "Anyway... I was able to help him"
[18:00]Some other Person nods slowly.  "I am... glad to hear."  Her voice is just above a whisper now.  She bows her gaze, looking to the foliage around them in thought.

[18:00]Natalie Mcbeef sighs deeply, taking a moment to collect herself before continuing
[18:01]Some other Person knits her brows again, in concern this time.  She steps forward to lightly touch Natalie on the arm.
[18:01]Natalie Mcbeef looks up in suprise, "Roen..?"
[18:01]Some other Person offers her a small smile.  "He lives.  That is what matters.  Aye?"
[18:02]Natalie Mcbeef stares at her for a moment before a grin appears on her own face, "Aye.. that's what matters"
[18:03]Some other Person releases her arm after a small squeeze, she steps back.

[18:03]Natalie Mcbeef breathes in deeply again, seeming more confident when she finishes.
[18:04]Natalie Mcbeef nods, "I took him to the Sultansworn infirmary, many Paladins are also healers after all, and I knew the flames wouldn't be able to touch him there"
[18:05]Natalie Mcbeef: "They treated his wounds, and he is not a prisoner at the moment..."
[18:05]Natalie Mcbeef: "Although honestly he really should be"
[18:05]Some other Person regards her with pause.

[18:06]Natalie Mcbeef nods, "Criminals often do"
[18:06]Natalie Mcbeef: "Although not so readily"
[18:06]Some other Person: So.. you would need to arrest him for that.
[18:06]Some other Person: Immortal Flames only attacked him for a drawn weapon, aye?

[18:07]Some other Person flexes her fingers by her side.  "What will you do?"  She asks quietly, her voice even.  No judgement.
[18:07]Natalie Mcbeef closes her eyes for a moment before turning back to Roen, "I don't know..." she says softly
[18:08]Natalie Mcbeef: "Gods (Someone else)I don't know..." she says slightly more desperately
