  1. Hello my loves, this is a quick tutorial on how to set up a free bouncer for your irc needs.
  2.
  3. Now to begin:
  4.
  5. You need an irc client program. They are mostly free to use under a license, so please read the license before using the client.
  6.
  7. Now we need to be able to connect to a server. The servers in this case are:
  8.
  9. /server irc.bitsjoint.net
  10. /server irc.rizon.net
  11. /server irc.abjects.net
  12. /server irc.gamesurge.net
  13. /server irc.quakenet.org
  14. /server irc.freenode.net
  15. /server irc.alphachat.net
  16. /server irc.esper.net
  17.
  18. Then we need to join #elitebnc
  19.
  20. Type once you are on the server of your choosing:
  21.
  22. /join #elitebnc
  23.
  24. Once you are on the room, greet the people there politely and do the following commands on the bot EliteBNC:
  25.
  26. !info
  27.
  28. It will show you the terms and conditions to use the bouncer.
  29.
  30. Now that you are in agreement with the license agreement, you will need to request the bouncer
  31.
  32. !request
  33.
  34. That command will show you the request info, but I will do it quickly for you so you can advance further
  35.
  36. !request CharacterName Network Email
  37.
  38. Now we will need to wait so the request is done by one of the administrators of the bouncer page.
  39.
  40. When that is done, the room will tell you who did it. While you wait you can talk to the people there or iddle. In case you disconnect from the server, you can go at a later time requesting the status of your desired bouncer:
  41.
  42. !check Nickname
  43.
  44. Once you are ready you need to check your email for some email like:
  45.
  46. Sender: EliteBNC
  47. Subject: Request accepted
  48.
  49. It will give you something like this:
  50.
  51. Username: YourNick
  52. Password: RandomPass
  53. BNC server: server.elitebnc.org
  54. Web Panel: http://server.elitebnc.org:portnumber/
  55. IRC login: /server server.elitebnc.org portnumber nick:password
  56.
  57. For SSL, use port 1338 (on mIRC and XChat, +1338)
  58. Some clients need to use server:port instead of a space, so try that option if the above doesn't work.
  59.
  60. We have provided a page for our users to help with their BNC experience. To change settings such as the default ident and other details, visit http://www.elitebnc.org/hints/ for instructions.
  61.
  62. The terms of service can be found at: http://www.elitebnc.org/uap - Please read this document!
  63.
  64. Please do not reply to this email, as staff will not receive it. Thank you.
  65.
  66. Now we need to go to the webpanel
  67.
  68. Click on the webpanel nick and sign in with your nick and the random password. Once you are in I recommend you to change the password for the bouncer for easier access to it.
  69.
  70. Once you are done setting up your password, I would not mess up with the settings on the admin module. Just scroll down to the Channel List and click on Add Channel.
  71.
  72. Note that you cannot use the same bouncer in several irc networks. You will have to ask for each of the networks you want a bouncer for.
  73.
  74. Now this is pretty much it. Please keep all passwords safe, do not share them with anyone.
  75.
  76. Love you sweeties.
