  1. >Be Anon
  2. >Be in horseland for 11 months
  3. >It just happened one day back at Earth
  4. >You were hit by an asshole cab somewhere in Manhattan
  5. >Bastard
  6. >When you woke up you found your nurse to be some small looking horse bringing you a tray of what appears to be your lunch
  7. >At first you thought it was some prank and played it off
  8. >Then she talked
  9. >Fancy
  10. >You got out of bed and noped the fuck out of the room despite the small mare's protests
  11. >Only to be greeted by another horse only more stern looking
  12. >Said he was your doctor and was now scolding you about getting out of bed so abruptly
  13. >His words fall on deaf ears because you're now eating pavement, passed out
  14. >You woke up once more to find a large white horse... unicorn? With regal looking wings and a trippy mane.
  15. >You quickly found out of her royal status, the land where you are and how you got here.
  16. >To clarify how you got here, you were found on the street by some local girl... mare in the middle of the night. You were also bloodied pretty bad but nothing a few bandages couldn't fix. Still it hurt all over.
  17. >Upon talking to the princess, you make your way out of bed and peer out the window only to see a bustling city not unlike where you came from. Only this time, the populace below, even above as you can spot some with wings, consists of colorful horses. Great
  18. "Fuck!"
  19. "I-I'm sorry?"
  20. >Swearing in front of royalty. Classy
  21. "Nothing, Princess... just surprised by my... circumstances, I guess"
  22. >She giggles
  23. "Perfectly understandable Mr. Anonymous. Still, might I suggest you return to bed? Your doctor will throw a fit at me when he sees you up and about. You are still quite injured you know."
  24. >Now that she mentions it you do feel pain. Particularly around your forehead area, still wrapped heavily in bandages.
  25. >You look at your clothes. Bloodstained and grimy but still wearable. Well wearable for your standards, you were pretty much a slob
  26. >You sigh and crawl back to bed.
  27. "So what now, Princess?"
  28. "First things first though, you should rest and focus on getting better."
  29. >The whole situation hasn't fully hit you yet but it will.
  30. "... I suppose. Any chance of me returning home?"
  31. >She puts on a serious face
  32. "I'll be frank, Mr. Anonymous. Inter dimensional travel is something even above the scopes of the magic here in Equestria but I can assure you, we will do our best."
  33. >Figures...
  34. >Wait, magic?
  35. "...Princess, you said... 'magic'?"
  36. >She smiles and her horn glows brightly. Suddenly the glass of water next to you levitates. You give out a totally manly, not girlish in anyway whatsoever, yelp. The glass of water nudges itself on your hands. You hesitate grabbing onto it but after that display, you need a drink.
  37. >Then it hit you, your all alone in a land of magical horses with nothing on you but the clothes on your back...
  38. >At least you aren't dead considering how you arrived here in the first place.
  39. >Maybe you are dead and this is heaven.
  40. >Or hell.
  41. >You sit there open-mawed and dumbstruck
  42. >The princess notices this and clears her throat to snap you back
  43. "Well, I would love to stay and chat some more, and to an alien species no less, but I still have royal duties to take care of. Rest assured that the ponies here will do their best to help you get better. Do not worry about the hospital bill, they are already covered. And once you are discharged, you will receive a lump sum of bits to your name. So just focus on getting better and rest assured knowing the I will do my best to find someway of sending you back home."
  44. >...That was too nice an offer. What's the catch?
  45. "Wait, you trust me that much? We only just met. You don't even know if I'm evil"
  46. "Are you?"
  47. "Well, no but that's not the point."
  48. >She chuckles.
  49. "I think I could trust you. Besides if you are actually evil I doubt you would even bring that up in the first place."
  50. >Either she is an outstanding judge of people or a really really bad one.
  51. >Either way you are grateful.
  52. >She opens the door out of your room and proceeds to head out but stops to turn to you.
  53. "If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask"
  54. >It makes you feel uneasy all this mooching off. You have major issues about relying on others. But really at this point, what else can you do. Might as well push it a bit.
  55. "Well, since you asked. I need some clothes at least...it might be difficult considering I have a diffe-"
  56. "Done."
  57. "What?"
  58. >She chuckles
  59. "Will that be all?"
  60. "Hey...Thanks."
  61. >She smiles and proceeds to step out of your room leaving you to yourself.
  62. >Your time at the hospital afterwards was peaceful if not a bit uneventful.
  63. >The peop- ponies that worked there are nice. You talk to them once in a while. They are not really all that fazed about having a completely new species to tend to. But you chalk it up to them having more sentient species here than the paltry sum you were used to back home.
  64. >After your discharge, you received a rather large parcel and a stack of clothes. True to her word, the parcel contains shiny gold coins you learned to be called bits. And there were a lot of them. It even contained a map. Hot damn.
  65. >And you are surprised the by the clothes here, at how they were able to make one for your size and shape but you remember one the nurses talking to you about minotaurs. These clothes look expensive and hand, er hoof-crafted. Not the style you would wear but beggars can't be choosers. You inspect the brand. 'Suri Polmare works'. Definitely fancy sounding.
  66. >Could've gone way worse, you say to yourself. At least the little accident back then only left you with a scar on you forehead. No permanent damage that's for sure.
  67. >You step outside the hospital to be met with the scenery outside the window. It was a hustling and bustling city not unlike your home. Manehattan, as the doctor said. Surely that's no coincidence but whatever, you'd rather no burst a vein thinking about it.
  68. >The ponies passing by are just what you people from back home act like. Busy, always needing someplace to go.
  69. >You are met with a few odd looks but that's as far as it goes.
  70. >First things first though. Find a place to live. Taking your map you wander around the city looking for an apartment or something.
  71. >You found a rather decent apartment suited for you. It's no MGM Grand but it works. Hell, it was way better than the type of shit you had back home.
  72.
  73. >And fast forward to now.
  74. >You're on your last leg on the bits. Apparently employment is not that easy to here. As you found out, having a cutie mark is the equivalent of a college degree.
  75. >You sigh and put away the bits you were counting
  76. >If you're lucky you can make it next week. Still no sound from the princess. Still not like you were expecting it. She did say sending you back was a very very very long stretch. And regarding you're situation, you're much to prideful to outright beg for sustenance after all you were given initially. And you have made no friends to rely on. Not that you would rely on them. Stupid pride.
  77. >You sigh as you look out the window.
  78. >Midnight. Be that as it is, it's still pretty active. Just like home.
  79. >You miss home.
  80. >But well, considering you're supposed to be dead, you're in no place to complain
  81. >You decide to walk around the city in the dead of night
  82. >You do this pretty much every chance you get which is almost always
  83. >Back home this would be pretty stupid and foolhardy but small talking ponies with bright colors aren't really known for crime.
  84. >You went to the nearby convenience store but just hung around there doing nothing
  85. >If you had the money to spare you'd go drinking.
  86. >You sigh. Let's go back home.
  87. >You decide to take the long way back and through the par just for a change in scenery
  88. >The park is really beautiful at night. The small lake. The stars. The passed out mare. The cool night breeze.
  89. >...
  90. >You rub your temples.
  91. >You walk towards her. She's still breathing so that's a plus.
  92. >Isn't it a bit unsafe to be here like this? Won't she be raped?
  93. >...
  94. >Are ponies even capable of rape?
  95. >Anyway, you squat down and poke her cheek trying to wake her up.
  96. "Hey. You ok?"
  97. >No budge. You poke her again.
  98. >Soft. Her cheeks are really soft.
  99. >You poke her again and again
  100. >Ok, that's enough
  101. "Hey. Seriously wake up for real this time."
  102. >She doesn't come around
  103. >You notice she's visibly shaking and cheeks flushed red
  104. >Either she's aroused or sick. I'll chalk it up to aroused. Jackpot
  105. >You place your hand on her forehead. Damn. Ohwell.
  106. >Must be fever.
  107. >You sigh
  108. >You slide your hands under her and lift her up. You proceed to walk back to your apartment.
  109. >She's quite light. Then again so are the other miniature equines
  110. >You reach your abode.
  111. >You place her on your couch.
  112. >You head to the kitchen and grab a cloth and rinse it in water. Granted its a dishcloth but its the thought that counts. You wring it dry and place it on her forehead.
  113. >Still fast asleep it seems
  114. >Soooo what now?
  115. >You're not exactly the best at caring for others.
  116. >Hmmm. What would I need when I'm sick? Water I guess.
  117. >You go to your fridge and grab the pitcher. You also grab a glass and place them both on the coffeetable in the living room
  118. >Ok that's good now what?
  119. >I guess something to eat? You check your fridge again.
  120. >You wince, you're really running dry. You'd rather not use the already limited amount of food you have.
  121. >Grass? Horses it grass... right? You went out the apartment and pull of a handful of grass from the lawn. The landlord would have a fit but ohwell.
  122. >You return inside and grabbing a plate in the kitchen, you place the grass on the plate on the table next to the water
  123. >Soo... what more?
  124. >You look at her. Seems like she's still out.
  125. >What's with that collar? What purpose does that serve?
  126. >You sigh. Stupid horses doing weird things.
  127. >You gently remove the collar of her and place it next to the table. You know, so that she breathes easier, get your mind out of the gutter.
  128. >What now?
  129. "...Guess I should sleep now..."
  130.
  131. >Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy. If P. Diddy was stuck in a land of horses and unemployed, but it's the thought all the same.
  132. >You suddenly remember that little horse on your couch from last night.
  133. >You rush to your living room to find out only to chance upon it empty
  134. >You see a small slip of paper on the couch. It says 'Thank You' in nice elegant han- hoof writing.
  135. >You look at the table. The grass is still there. Yeah. There's a quarter of water missing from the pitcher. At least you did something right. You also see something shining next to the plate.
  136. >A few bits.
  137. >Tch. Handouts.
  138. >Normally people would be glad about free money right? But you're different. You have a lot of pride.
  139. >You ignore the bits on the table and go about your day.
  140. >One breakfast and a trip to the bathroom later and you're ready to go about your day. Which is not much considering you spend it the entirety of it finding work.
  141. >A few hours later and what do you get? Jackshit.
  142. >You sigh as you look at the sky from your bench
  143. >At least this park doesn't judge you, you chuckle a bit to yourself
  144. >It's now noon.
  145. >You get up from your bench and begin your walk back
  146. >That is until you see the pony from last night carrying large bolts of cloths. She's struggling to no end
  147. >Aaaand she's tipping over...
  148. >She feel down on the grass
  149. >She sits down looking teary-eyed at the bolts scattered about
  150. >All the ponies passing by don't help her.
  151. >Just like all the jerks back in Manhattan.
  152. >This really your home away from home. Heh.
  153. >She tries to gather them all up again
  154. >This is difficult to watch.
  155. >You walk over to her.
  156. "Need help?"
  157. "Oh thank y-"
  158. >She looks up to face you. She stops mid sentence
  159. >She doesn't speak .
  160. "You OK?"
  161. >She snaps back
  162. "U-u-uhmm I-I'll be alright. H-haha."
  163. >She hurriedly gathers the fabrics on the grass and proceeds to trot off quickly
  164. >Huh.
  165. >Was she scared of you?
  166. >That's a first.
  167. >Well, can't say I blame her. In fact, I'd say she has the most down-to-earth (down-to-equestria?) reaction upon meeting a legit alien. The other ponies are rather apathetic.
  168. >You shrug and head back but your stomach gurgles
  169. >Fuck...
  170. >You decide to head for the convenience store for dinner
  171. >After filling yourself with the cheapest human edible thing you can find, you decide to head back to the park to burn some time
  172. >The park is always calming. Just the thing you need to when you need some time to think. Not that that's in any short supply with you being unemployed and all.
  173. >You accidentally nod off to the cool evening breeze
  174. >You wake up two hours later
  175. >Didn't mean to nod off like that.
  176. >You check your belongings you had on you. Cheap watch, handkerchief, a few pocket bits. All there. Sometimes you think this place could use crime.
  177. >You mentally slap yourself for thinking that
  178. >You proceed to head home for real this time
  179. >As you turn the block, you bump into a pony. You knock on her on her ass. Not on purpose.
  180. "Ah, sorry about that miss, are you alright?"
  181. "No I'm fi-"
  182. >She manages to regain her composure before getting a good look at you and you at her
  183. >It's the same one from before
  184. >We've got to stop bumping into each other like this
  185. >You can practically hear her shaking teeth
  186. "I-I-I'm f-fine... Sorryaboutthat!"
  187. >She says with a quick bow and proceeds to trot away nervously
  188. >She hurries on ahead... in the direction you were supposed to go in anyway
  189. >Shrugging you continue to follow the path and, inevitably, her.
  190. >You continue walking at a leisurely pace.
  191. >It's cool
  192. >No need to rush
  193. >Not like you have work tomorrow
  194. >Or the day after. And after that.
  195. >Sigh.
  196. >At least the night is very tranquil on this side of the city. Only the hoofsteps from the nervous mare ahead of you can be heard.
  197. >Speaking of which, why is she walking down your path if she's so afraid of you. Weirdo
  198. >You shrug
  199. >You eventually hear the sound of clattering trashcans.
  200. >Probably her. You hurry a bit to catch up to her.
  201. >She's knocked the trashcans on the walk
  202. "...You OK?"
  203. >I should really expand my vocabulary
  204. >She gets up quickly from the sound of your voice
  205. >She backs away from you nervously
  206. >I should probably clarify on some things.
  207. "...You know, I don't eat ponies."
  208. >She goes full on gallop mode in the darkness.
  209. >Smooth move, cowboy.
  210. >You apply your face onto your palm. Liberally
  211. >You then proceed to head back to your very own little slice of purgatory.
  212. >A bath later and it's time for bed.
  213.
  214. >7am, waking up in the morning
  215. >Gotta be fresh, gotta go downstairs. Well, next room to be exact.
  216. >No job hunting for now. Weekend.
  217. >Funny how you don't appreciate it as much when you're unemployed. The little things you notice.
  218. >Morning rituals and breakfast. Then what?
  219. >Hang around the park again you guess.
  220. >You pretty much hang back on the same usual park bench just enjoying the view
  221. >Your stomach gurgles
  222. >You guess you should eat lunch at home for now. Money's really REALLY getting tight.
  223. >Sigh.
  224. >Whatever. Heading back.
  225. >What?
  226. >That strange pony is on your door carrying what looks to be flowers.
  227. >Seems like she's waiting patiently in front of it.
  228. >So first she's scared of you, now she's courting you. Sometimes you have trouble understanding ponies.
  229. >You walk casually to your apartment.
  230. >She still hasn't noticed you given that she's facing the door right now.
  231. "May I help you?"
  232. "Eeep!"
  233. >With a girly yelp, she jumps facing you
  234. >She looks at you with surprise first, then the usual fear. What? You thought she has the hots for you.
  235. >You can see her shaking
  236. >Ugh right.
  237. "...May I help you?"
  238. >You ask again slowly not to panic
  239. "A-A-Are you stalking me?!"
  240. >Great. Now you're a sexual deviant apparently. Sorry, dad. 10 years ahead of schedule.
  241. "Ugh..."
  242. "DON'T COME ANY CLOSER!"
  243. >Sigh. You give up.
  244. >You rub your temples in defeat.
  245. >You pull out your keys and unlock the door despite the cowering ball of fur below you
  246. >You step over her and proceed inside
  247. >She looks visibly surprised
  248. "Wh-wh-wh-where are you going!?"
  249. >You sigh
  250. "...Inside my apartment?"
  251. "Y-y-you live here?!"
  252. "No, I go here to go shopping"
  253. >You make it a point to make your sarcasm obvious
  254. "Th-then... you... th-that night..."
  255. "...Well I found you passed out in the park..."
  256. "Wh-wh-why didn't you say anything?!"
  257. "Well, you're not exactly the most sociable pony I've met."
  258. >She looks embarrassed. Scared but embarrassed.
  259. >At least she can form proper sentences now. That's a plus
  260. "So... can I go eat lunch now?"
  261. "W-w-wait!"
  262. >She picks up the bouquet no the floor with her left front hoof. Wait, how did that work?
  263. "Th-this is for you!"
  264. >She says eyes closed, cheeks flushed.
  265. >Is this a confession you hear so much about in your animus?
  266. >'Senpai-san I really like you. You so kawaii ugu desu desu~ :3'
  267. >You slap yourself mentally for thinking that.
  268. "Um what is this?"
  269. >Her cheek reddens even more
  270. "I-I-I m-made you lunch... as thanks..."
  271. >Lunch.
  272. >Ugh.
  273. >Sometimes you wish you can palm yourself through the face.
  274. "Look, I appreciate the gesture but I don't- rather can't eat... daffodils"
  275. >She looks a bit dejected.
  276. "...I'm sorry..."
  277. >Sigh
  278. "It's alright"
  279. "No, I mean...sorry... for being so scared... of you..."
  280. "...No harm done."
  281. >You'd say it was rather interesting. At least you got to know what it's like to be feared for a change.
  282. >...But you won't tell her that.
  283. >She still has reservations but at least she's easing up now.
  284. "Hey, let's start over. My name's Anonymous."
  285. >She looks to you and smiles meekly
  286. "...Coco Pommel. Pleasure to meet you"
  287. >Pleasure. Heh.
  288. "Likewise... Can I eat lunch now?"
  289. "Oh umm... wait, c-come with me a sec."
  290. >You sigh and walk out
  291. >She trots over sheepishly to the next door to your right.
  292. "Umm th-this is my apartment. I-If you're in need of anything, don't hesitate to ask. Umm, it's the least I can do."
  293. >Tch. Asking for handouts.
  294. >But she means well. It's a rather nice gesture.
  295. >Still surprising she's actually your neighbor.
  296. >Small horse-filled world.
  297. >Heh. NEIGH-bor
  298. "I'll keep that in mind, thanks."
  299. >You probably won't but said it nonetheless.
  300. "So... can I eat lunch now?"
  301. "Oh! Umm sorry. Don't let me keep you."
  302. >With a small smile, you proceed back inside.
  303. >You head to your kitchen and fix something up.
  304. >Just a simple sandwich
  305. >Nothing fancy, just lettuce and tomato's, some mayo and cheese.
  306. >Meat's not really much of an issue for you but you miss it a bit to be honest
  307. >No pork and beef here that's for sure but fish seems to be okay
  308. >You'd get some if you actually have the dosh to spend around
  309. >At least the produce is pretty cheap
  310. >You went out after 'lunch'
  311. >Coco's probably inside her apartment seeing as her door's closed
  312. >You guess you'd waste some time at the park again
  313. >The rest of the day is pretty much uneventful. A bath and a dinner later and it's off to bed.
  314.
  315. >And you wake up in the morning and your head feels twice the size. Whatever that means, you never got to ask Amy MacDonald.
  316. >You hang out in bed a little longer.
  317. >Sigh
  318. >Weekends sure suck.
  319. >...
  320. >You slap yourself mentally for thinking that
  321. >With a grunt, you get out of bed and check whatever you have in the kitchen for breakfast
  322. >Crud
  323. >Supplies are really dwindling down
  324. >So very not good
  325. >Another more of that sandwich it is then
  326. >Soon after, you head for the bathroom for all your morning rituals.
  327. >Feeling fresh, you are ready to tackle the day!
  328. >Which is probably just you spending it in the park as usual
  329. >Sigh.
  330. >You sigh a lot lately
  331. >You make another sandwich and wrap it up. Take out lunch, ahoy.
  332. >You head out the apartment. Coco's probably inside her apartment. What a shut-in. Heh.
  333. >You make your way to the park as always
  334. >And just like everyday, you hang around here to pass the time. It's pretty nice. But importantly, it's free.
  335. >The whole day passes and it is now evening
  336. >Time to head back, I guess
  337. >You see a little cream coated mare in the nearby distance struggling with large bolts of fabric
  338. >Was she working this weekend?
  339. >She's no better at carrying those than the last time
  340. >This is sad
  341. >You walk up to her just like last time
  342. "Need help?"
  343. >You say just like last time
  344. >You startle her just like last time
  345. >She turns to face you and puts on a look of fear, just like last time
  346. "...Yes, please"
  347. >She accepts your offer graciously... that's new
  348. >You take the three from the five bolts she has on her back
  349. >This... is actually quite heavy
  350. >How and why is she carrying these?
  351. >You walk cold streets of Manehattan with her towards your apartment
  352. >It's quiet and the awkwardness in really palpable. Not that you'd want to palp it
  353. >She seems bit uncomfortable. Though you can't really blame her
  354. "You have work on weekends?"
  355. >The sudden question caught her off guard
  356. "Oh! um yes. There's this big order coming up..."
  357. >She eases up a bit
  358. "And with the new fall season coming in so soon, the demand for the new fashion line is quite high. Especially now that the Lettuce Hem style is predicted to take precedence over the Raglan and..."
  359. >She continues on
  360. >She getting fired up and she looks a completely different pers- pony the way she is now
  361. "Oh... Um. Sorry. Was I boring you?"
  362. "Well no not really, but I admit, I couldn't follow you the entire conversation. You lost me at 'Lettuce Hem'."
  363. >She chuckles
  364. "It's not that difficult, Anonymous. A Lettuce Hem is simple the style in which the hem of the dress looks like a lettuce."
  365. >That really doesn't bring much to light
  366. "...You must really love your work, don't you? It shows in your flank"
  367. "W-w-what!?"
  368. "...I meant your cutie mark."
  369. "O-oh. And yes. I do enjoy it, very much."
  370. >She looks of into the distance
  371. "I enjoy that feeling of seeing my beloved work worn by other ponies. Even if they don't know I did it and don't give me any recognition, the fact that they are wearing it, means a lot to me. It's a special feeling I can't describe."
  372. >She turns to you with a smile
  373. "Just like the clothes you are wearing now."
  374. "...You made these?"
  375. >You look down to your clothes. They have been worn down over the months but they're still in a decent condition. Pretty good actually. And considering how you still have those bloodstained clothes you were wearing when you got here, that's saying something.
  376. "Yup. Suri Polmare is my boss. I work for her."
  377. "That was way back. I'm surprised you can remember these given how you must've made tons more of clothes more memorable than this in that timespan."
  378. >She chuckles
  379. "How could I forget? A direct order from the Princess herself. And not your typical pony wear too, to be honest."
  380. >She has a point
  381. "And I spent many sleepless nights working on those."
  382. >She puffs her chest out proudly
  383. >...Great. Now you feel guilty. Stupid considerate horse.
  384. "...But even if this is my special talent. I know I have much to learn."
  385. >She wears a look of determination... which doesn't really mesh well for a cute little pony
  386. "But I'll do my best!"
  387. >She reminds you of those stereotypical animu protagonists. Except not a faggot. And not being chased by a harem which includes their own sister.
  388. >You laugh to yourself
  389. "...Thanks Coco. For the clothes."
  390. >You interrupt her speech. That caught her off guard
  391. >She looks at you with a smile
  392. "You're very welcome, Anonymous. Promise me to take good care of them."
  393. "You know, I already do."
  394. >She nods to herself
  395. "That's what I want to hear!"
  396. >She relaxes her composure
  397. "It feels nice."
  398. "What does?"
  399. "Hearing gratitude for your work. It's the first time I heard it."
  400. >...You can't thing of anything to say at this point.
  401. >Must be nice though. Having something so passionate about.
  402. "We're here."
  403. >You look to see that familiar aging apartment
  404. >You walk up to her door and handing her the fabrics, she takes them and places them by the doorway.
  405. "Goodnight Anonymous, and thank you for your help this evening"
  406. "No sweat"
  407. >Not true. Your arm is sore as hell
  408. "I have to work on these now, I'll see you later. Thanks again."
  409. "Yeah. Goodnight Coco. Don't overwork yourself."
  410. >She chuckles
  411. "I won't. Goodnight."
  412. >A quick dinner and bath later and you're off to dreamland.
  413.
  414. >Wake up call, caught you in the morning with another one in my bed. Another bed bug bite if that's what you mean. You should really clean the place up once in a while.
  415. >You bathroom and breakfast just like everyday. You're getting sick of all these el cheapo sandwiches but what else can you do?
  416. >This is getting repetitive
  417. >Just the usual going about town looking for work.
  418. >Sigh
  419. >You head to your living room and rest back on the couch and stare at the ceiling
  420. >You spend a few good minutes just being like that
  421. >With a sigh, you snap back down.
  422. >You look over to the the table to see the few bits you received from Coco still there.
  423. >It just doesn't feel right taking these.
  424. >You take a coin from the pile
  425. "Tails I get lucky today."
  426. >You flip the coin, catch it in mid air and place it on your arm, palm cupped
  427. >You remove your hand quickly to see the etched image of Celestia on the bit.
  428. >Well that sucked. Fuck you coin.
  429. >You flick the coin back on the table.
  430. >With a sigh, you go to your bed room and grab some pocket bits.
  431. >...
  432. >You can take the few bits you have left. This is not a good sign.
  433. >Alright no time for whining. You steel your nerves and walk out the door
  434. >You check over next door.
  435. >Closed. She's probably at work.
  436. >Anyway let's do this.
  437. >You spent the whole day looking for work
  438. >No such luck.
  439. >The whole damn day. Fuck
  440. >Dejected you head as the sun is setting
  441. >You peer over to the door next to yours before heading inside.
  442. >Still closed.
  443. >You go to your kitchen and try to at least fix something up but your mind is really out of it and you knock over the pans which send loud clattering noises everywhere.
  444. >Great
  445. "Anonymous, what was that? Are you alright?!"
  446. >You hear a muffled voice from across the wall
  447. "It's nothing. I'm fine Coco"
  448. >You shout back
  449. "Hold on, I'm coming over!"
  450. "You don't hav-"
  451. >You're cut off by the sound of hooves trotting off
  452. >You sigh
  453. >You go to your door and open it
  454. >You catch a glimpse of her
  455. "You know, it's really-"
  456. >She rushes past you before you can finish your sentence
  457. >Grudgingly, you follow her to the kitchen
  458. >She looks at the mess then on you, a slight worry shown on her face
  459. "What happened?"
  460. "...Nothing. I was making dinner, bumped a few pans and fell. That's all"
  461. >She doesn't look convinced
  462. "Are you sure? It sounded like somepony trying to wreck the place"
  463. "Well they will be loud, they are hefty metal afterall"
  464. >Now that you get a good look at her, you can see her unkempt mane and dark circles under her eyes.
  465. "If you're sure... Sorry about rushing here, your startling woke me up is all."
  466. >Now you feel like a total dick.
  467. "No don't be sorry. I'm the one who has to apologize. Sorry, really"
  468. >She giggles wearily
  469. "It's alright."
  470. "...Isn't it a bit too early to be sleeping?"
  471. "Hm? Oh, well I stayed up all night working on the dresses."
  472. >Now you feel even more of a dick.
  473. "...Anything I can do to help?"
  474. "Oh it's alright, I just finished the job and was just catching up on sleep"
  475. "...Sorry"
  476. "It's alright"
  477. >She says trying to smile brightly
  478. >She steps out of the kitchen and you follow suit. She stops as she saw your couch
  479. >She giggles to herself
  480. "...Imagine my surprise to waking up suddenly in a really strange place, not know how or why I ended up here. I was pretty much crying in panic as to my current situation only to find out it was just next door."
  481. >She chuckles once more before look at you
  482. "Then I find a damp cloth on my forehead, a glass of water and some grass next to me. I put them together and came to the conclusion that somepony, or rather someone, kind looked after me."
  483. "I really didn't do much"
  484. >She just smiles in response
  485. >She looks over at the table and notices the shining gold coins scattered there
  486. "Are those...? Why didn't you take them?"
  487. >You sigh
  488. "Look Coco, not to belittle your graciousness or anything but if you're gonna know something about me, it's that I don't like a free lunch."
  489. "But it's night time"
  490. >Sigh.
  491. "I meant I don't like free things given to me. Something about pride. A human thing, sorry."
  492. >She looks at you inquisitively before nodding
  493. >I guess she understands
  494. "So you can just take these bits back. I appreciate the offer though."
  495. "No."
  496. "...Huh?"
  497. "I don't like taking back things I meant. A pony thing, sorry."
  498. >She says with a smile
  499. >Stupid horse
  500. >You laugh to yourself silently
  501. >She makes for the door.
  502. "Well, goodnight Anonymous. Sorry for intruding."
  503. "...Hey."
  504. >You call out to her.
  505. "If you ever need help with something, don't hesitate to ask alright?"
  506. >She stops and turns to face you
  507. "Actually, I need help... I said I already finished up work... That's a lie really. If you could come by tomorrow, I would really appreciate it."
  508. >She says meekly
  509. >Huh. You completely expecting her to turn down or shrug off your offer. At least, that's what you'd do in her place.
  510. >Not that you weren't willing to lend a hoof... hand. Stupid horse land.
  511. >And plus, you doubt you'd find work tomorrow.
  512. "...Alright. Sure I'll drop by."
  513. "Thank you, Anon. I really appreciate it. Well goodnight. Sleep well."
  514. >She says with a small court bow.
  515. >You follow to close the door behind her.
  516. >Huh.
  517. >Anon.
  518. >Been a while since you heard that nickname
  519. >You make a proper dinner. As proper as your meager supplies can allow.
  520. >A quick bath later and you face down on the bed.
  521.
  522. >Fist in the air, in the land of hypocrisy. Wake up!
  523. >I'm running out of wake up songs.
  524. >You go about your usual morning routine along with breakfast
  525. >You contemplate a bit if you're really up to the challenge of lending a hand
  526. >It was either this or look for a job, and looking for a job was definitely the more prudent choice, especially with your situation
  527. >But still, you need a change of pace, you admit to yourself
  528. >With a sigh, head out and proceed next door
  529. >You knock
  530. "Coco, it's me"
  531. >A few shuffles can be heard through the door
  532. >The door swings open with a light creak
  533. >Out peers that usual cream colored pony with bright blue mane. She's looking better than she did yesterday evening
  534. "Good morning, Anon. Have you had breakfast?"
  535. "I did, yeah"
  536. "Oh. I was going to ask you to join me. I am having breakfast right now"
  537. "That's OK, I can wait out here when you're done"
  538. "That won't do, come inside"
  539. >She opens the door wider, signalling you to enter
  540. "If you insist I guess."
  541. >She smiles and walks back inside
  542. >Hmm. I've never entered a ponies residence before. Should I leave my shoes out.
  543. >Seeing as they walk around bare hooved, I should probably so.
  544. >You take your shoes and put them neatly beside the doorway outside but not before getting a good look at them.
  545. >You wore these when you came here.
  546. >It's still holding up. Just like me. That's good I guess.
  547. >...Whatever.
  548. >You head inside and are met with a rather nice looking living room
  549. >Aside from the work related clutter around, you can tell it's rather well-kept. So unlike your own
  550. >You sit on the couch and wait for her
  551. >She enters the living room with a plate of what appears to be half-eaten omelette and a glass or orange juice on it.
  552. >She sits on the couch next to you
  553. "I thought I should keep you company here. It would be very rude of me to keep you waiting."
  554. "You don't really have to, you know"
  555. "It's no trouble at all"
  556. >She says taking the spoon with her hoof and proceeding to eat breakfast. How does she do that?
  557. >She sees you staring
  558. "Oh. Did you want one? There's still some left in the kitchen."
  559. "No thanks I already ate... But what is that exactly? An omelette?"
  560. "Yup. An apple omelette."
  561. >She takes a piece and shoves it into her mouth
  562. "Apples? You're kidding right?"
  563. "It's really good."
  564. >She cuts a piece and scoops it up with her spoon and points it at you
  565. "Here, taste it. Say 'ahhh'."
  566. >...
  567. "I can feed myself just fine, you know."
  568. >She pouts
  569. "Just do it."
  570. "...Fine...Ahhh"
  571. >You hesitantly open your mouth and let a small cream colored pony mare spoon feed you. You're pretty sure you're manliness quotient just went down a notch.
  572. "How is it?"
  573. >It tastes... Well, it's something you're not used to. It's not bad exactly. It's just strange. You're not used to sweet taste of fruit with the usual saltiness of eggs. Still it's a lot better that what you usually eat.
  574. "It's...good."
  575. >Well it kinda is actually.
  576. "Do you want some more?"
  577. >She looks at you expectantly
  578. "No thanks, I'm good."
  579. "Okay then."
  580. >She proceeds to continue breakfast while you slump lower on the couch waiting on her. Damn, her couch is way better than yours.
  581. >The two of you spend the time in relative silence
  582. >With a clank, she places the plate on the table and after drinking her orange juice, proceeds to do the same with the glass.
  583. >She takes the plate and the glass and starts to walk back to the kitchen
  584. "Want me to help with the dishes?"
  585. "Hm? Oh I'll just pile them on the sink for now. We need to get started."
  586. >She returns to the living room
  587. "So what do I have to help you with, Coco?"
  588. "I was hoping if you can help me with the simple stitches. Can you sew, Anon?"
  589. "Wellll, no sorry...And it would probably be a bad idea if a complete beginner would work on the dresses for your clients."
  590. >She ponders a bit before looking a bit dejects
  591. "...You're right..."
  592. >Awkward silence
  593. >A tumbleweed passes by
  594. "...I never asked you this but what's your cutie mark, Anon."
  595. "...Well... Humans don't have cutie marks."
  596. "W-what!?"
  597. >She seems legit surprised at this
  598. "...Then what's on your flank?"
  599. >What kind of question is that?
  600. "...Skin?"
  601. "Just skin?"
  602. "...Yeah...?"
  603. >Her cheeks go red before quickly shaking her head to clear her thoughts.
  604. >She ponders a bit
  605. >So yeah. How will you help her now?
  606. "What now..."
  607. >She asks
  608. "I didn't expect this too well... I can help with the grunt work if you want, carry things, fetch things you name it"
  609. >You scratch the back of your head
  610. "...I'm also pretty dexterous, if that helps"
  611. >You say wriggling your fingers
  612. >Somewhere on a certain town, a green unicorn just creamed herself
  613. "Hmm... I guess that works too... Let's go to my room"
  614. >...
  615. "D-don't think this the wrong way or anything."
  616. >She says with pinkish cheeks
  617. >You roll your eyes. Not like you're not also blushing slightly
  618. >You follow the mare inside a door by the hall
  619. >On the inside is a rather nice if a bit girly room. One noticeable thing is that the place has lots of mannequins... with a pony form. (equinnequin) And on them rests some half made dresses. You know nothing about fashion so you're just going to chalk it up as fancy brown dresses.
  620. >She trots over to one the closest one while you still inspect the room
  621. >There's some cute plushies on the desk
  622. >They're actually really well made.
  623. >They're ponies of all colors and shapes.
  624. >You walk up to one in particular.
  625. >It's a plush version of her. It's so meta... It's like a plush self-portrait
  626. "Anon!"
  627. >You almost drop the plushie on the floor.
  628. "What? Sorry...what were you saying?"
  629. "...Could you get the black fabric from the living room?"
  630. "Yeah sure..."
  631. >Returning the plush, you head out and grab the bolt.
  632. >You return the room and hand it to her.
  633. >She takes a small cutter with her mouth and expertly slices a piece of it
  634. >That rather dangerous... and impressive to be honest.
  635. >The takes the piece and returns to the dress she was working on
  636. "U-umm. You must think I'm strange for making those..."
  637. >Those? She means the plushies?
  638. "You made those. I'm impressed. It's actually really well-made"
  639. >She stops and faces you with a small smile
  640. "...Thanks, Anon."
  641. >She returns to her dress
  642. "I made them in the likeness of the people I know."
  643. >She stops for a while and peers over to the desk.
  644. >She points at one in particular
  645. "See that one? The one with the pink coat and violet mane? That's my boss, Suri Polomare"
  646. "Oh, I see."
  647. >You look at that one in particular
  648. "...Why does she look so angry?"
  649. "Umm... well she usually is."
  650. >Oh. That type of boss. I see.
  651. >You sit on her bed to pass the time while you let her work.
  652. >This isn't rude is it?
  653. >She's not complaining or anything so I guess it's okay.
  654. "...Hey Anon. Can you hold this part for me while I get it stitched?"
  655. "Gotcha"
  656. >You get up and walk over to her and hold a little makeshift rose made of fabric while you let her stitch close to you. It's amazing how she can use her hooves like that.
  657. >There's a silence but it's not really the awkward.
  658. >Plus at this range, you can smell her mane. It has a hint of vanilla so you're not really complaining.
  659. >...
  660. >It's strange the way she looks blooming when she's so engrossed with work
  661. "Hey, Anon..."
  662. >That snaps you out of your trance
  663. "Yeah...?"
  664. "...What's it like not having a cutie mark?"
  665. >What?
  666. >You'd laugh but hold back after seeing her melancholic look.
  667. "It's just like how you are before you had yours I guess"
  668. "...I mean... knowing your whole life ahead of you, you will never have one. How do you know your purpose?"
  669. >...
  670. >Shit. That's deep.
  671. "I guess it's... never. Considering that some of us never know what we truly want in life our whole lives. It's kind of a lifelong journey trying to find what a person truly wants individually."
  672. >She stops mistitch, looking at the dress
  673. "...Isn't that a bit sad?"
  674. "...I guess in a way it is... But it's also what life interesting... not knowing what tomorrow comes"
  675. >She falls silent some more
  676. "What about you, Anon... Did you find out what you want to do?"
  677. >You never thought about it... much...
  678. >You avoided thinking about it...
  679. "...No"
  680. >She faces the floor
  681. "Sorry...I shouldn't be prying"
  682. >You sigh
  683. "It's fine"
  684. >She turns to you with a bright smile.
  685. "Hey, let's eat lunch. My treat."
  686. >You're about to protest but you digress.
  687. >With a smile, you sigh once more
  688. "I'd like that. Thanks."
  689. >The two of you step out to the living room. You wait on the couch while she prepares lunch. Not that you're complaining. Her couch is high class.
  690. >She comes back with some plates of spaghetti
  691. >You snicker a bit to yourself
  692. >The two of you pass the time talking about fashion. Not that you participated much in the conversation, it was pretty much just her sharing to you the things she know. And you'd nod trying to understand them. Every once in a while a particular tidbit catches your interest and you'd inquire about that.
  693. >After lunch, the two of you return to work with her working on the dresses and you waiting on her, doing the grunt works.
  694. >Every now and the two of you'd talk about little things.
  695. >It's not bad. All in all.
  696. >And here you two are, having dinner on the living room. It's the same spaghetti you had earlier. And no, you're not complaining. It's quite delicious
  697. "I'm surprised your boss let you not attend work for the whole day"
  698. "It's usually like this. There's an order and and I work on it until it's finished. It's really simple"
  699. >Simple my ass. She's overworked left and right
  700. "Coco, doesn't it seem like you're being taken advantage of?"
  701. "...I know it must seem like that but I enjoy work. I really do."
  702. >...If you say so.
  703. "What about you, Anon. You spent the whole day today, what about work?"
  704. >That caught you off guard. You literally drop the spaghetti... back on the plate
  705. "...Well...I...don't have one...I'm actually looking for work for a long time..."
  706. >You hate being pitied, that's a fact
  707. >She stops eating to stare at you
  708. "Why didn't you say anything?"
  709. "...It wasn't important. Besides it's my problem"
  710. >She doesn't say anything for a while
  711. "...I'll help you."
  712. "What?"
  713. "I'll help you."
  714. >She says with determination
  715. "I don't need your help"
  716. >You blurt out without thinking
  717. >She looks visibly hurt
  718. "...Sorry. But it's my problem, I'd prefer to solve it by myself. This isn't the same thing as the free lunch or dinner. Come on, Coco, I'm sure you understand that."
  719. >...
  720. "No."
  721. "Coco."
  722. >There's a slight sternness building up in your tone
  723. >She doesn't back down
  724. "Anon, you help me a lot. If I say right now that I didn't need your help all this time, wouldn't it be presumptuous of you all this time?"
  725. >She faces you all serious
  726. "And isn't the reason you came to me for help was because you pitied me?.
  727. >...
  728. "I'm not pitying you, Anon. I want to help you out. I want you to rely on me. We're friends. It's what friends do."
  729. >...Are we friends...?
  730. >...Yeah...I suppose we kinda are. Sigh.
  731. >You rub your temples with a weak little smile
  732. "...fn..."
  733. >You speak up, barely audible
  734. "What was that?"
  735. "I said 'fine'..."
  736. >She wraps her hooves around you for a quick hug.
  737. >You roll your eyes and place your hand on her back
  738. >Soft. Just like those cheeks.
  739. >Well you've made your first friend in this place. A small cream colored fashion apprentice mare. I wonder what sis would say.
  740. >She breaks away
  741. "Meet me tomorrow morning, alright?"
  742. "Like I have a choice?"
  743. >She chuckles at your response and resumes to eating the spaghetti
  744. >You shake your head and follow the same
  745. >You help her clean the dishes afterwards and saying goodnight, you went back to your side plopped down headfirst unto the bed.
  746. >The two of you only finished one dress today but that's alright from what she said. And considering how much effort it made, you believe her.
  747. >...
  748. >Tomorrow, huh.
  749.
  750. >Wake up! Wake up! On a Saturday night.
  751. >Well no, it's Tuesday.
  752. >You get breakfast and bathtime before readying yourself for whatever it is Coco has planned.
  753. >You head out and knock on her door.
  754. "It's open."
  755. >That means to just head inside right? Yeah.
  756. >You slouch down on the couch. You really have to ask her where she got this.
  757. >She enters the door wearing the dress you two made last night. Mostly her really.
  758. >She swishes it around before turning to you
  759. "How's it look, Anon?"
  760. >You know jackshit about fashion so to put it simply, it's a brown dress with black highlights.
  761. >It looks pretty nice one her. Modest and classy
  762. >Wish she'd take off that collar though
  763. "It suits you."
  764. >She flutters her dress once more with a smile before turning to you once more
  765. "Thank you very much, Anon. I was a bit worried about the strength of the stitches considering it was a bit rushed yesterday evening."
  766. "How is it?"
  767. "It's holding out fairly well, thank goodness"
  768. >She gives one last look over before turning to you again
  769. "Can you help me out of this, Anon?"
  770. "Sure"
  771. >You walk up to her and inspect her back.
  772. "Can you unzip it?"
  773. >That's what your mom said last night
  774. "Hold on"
  775. >You take the zipper on her back and pull it down gently
  776. >This would be pretty sensual if she were a human
  777. >...Actually this is still pretty sensual.
  778. >Your hand brushes on her really really soft coat
  779. >With the dress hanging half loose, she shakes it off
  780. "Thank you, Anon"
  781. >She steps off and takes the dress by the hoof and places it on her back
  782. >You sorta wish you can feel her coat one more time but ohwell
  783. "Come on, Anon. Let's go."
  784. >Sigh
  785. "What do you have in mind?"
  786. "I'm going to introduce you to Suri and hope she can give you a job"
  787. >You're not particularly hopeful but...
  788. "...I'll admit, I'm not really expecting much, Coco"
  789. >She looks down
  790. "...Actually, so am I... but I want to at least try."
  791. >She puts on her determined face.
  792. >You should probably tell that look is not that intimidating
  793. >She nods to herself
  794. "Don't worry. I'll do my best"
  795. >You just sigh in response
  796. >...Still, you appreciate a bit what she's doing
  797. "Let's go, Anon"
  798. "Fine..."
  799. >You head outside with Coco following you from behind
  800. >She closes the door behind her and locking it
  801. >Are locks really that needed here?
  802. >She trots forward, while you hang back, still hesitant
  803. "Hurry up, Anon!"
  804. >She turns back to you. She seems eager
  805. "Alright, alright..."
  806. >You follow her at her side
  807. >The two of you walk along the usual path you take every morning
  808. >Celestia's sun is shining less brightly today though, must be a scheduled downpour later. I really should check the weather schedule more.
  809. >You look down next to you.
  810. >She's wearing this little timid smile she usually does
  811. >Heh.
  812. >Seems like just a few days ago she's in so much panic around you... Well it WAS just a few days ago. Still point still stands.
  813. >She leads you to the park
  814. "We go through here."
  815. >She turns to you
  816. "See that building over there on the other side?"
  817. "How could I not? It's the tallest one on the block."
  818. >It looks pretty swanky to boot
  819. "That's pretty much central hub of the fashion world. Sometimes you can even catch celebrities such as Prim Hemline and Photo Finish inside the building"
  820. >She says with a certain giddiness in her tone
  821. >You don't know who Prim Hemline is but you've seen Photo Finish on some of the billboards here. She reminds you of Anna Wintour from back earth. Either that or Lady Gaga.
  822. "Come on, let's go"
  823. "Lead the way"
  824. >The two of head inside the park
  825. >It's as tranquil as you remember it to be. Definitely the best place in the whole city.
  826. "Wait hold up, Coco."
  827. >You stop at the spot you usually stay.
  828. >Coco stops and notices you staring at the lake.
  829. >It's reflects the sun and the nearby scenery on the clear waters beautifully
  830. >You hear a light chuckle
  831. "You always loved this place, huh Anon. I've seen you a couple of times here, on that bench mostly"
  832. >She says pointing to your usual bench
  833. "Umm... from a distance of course...back then, I thought you were some evil unknown monster and everyone else has been tricked... or something."
  834. >She smiles at you
  835. "For the first time, I'm glad to know I'm wrong."
  836. "Heh. Well who can blame you. Still, thanks."
  837. >She nods before speaking again
  838. "Let's go, Anon"
  839. >You glance one last before responding
  840. "Alright"
  841. >The two of you continue your walk, passing through the park and reaching that really fancy-ass building
  842. >You can't help but whistle. Interior's be bitchin as fuck
  843. >You've never been here during job hunts. You doubt anyone here would even bother with you
  844. >You let Coco take the lead, this is uncharted territory for you.
  845. >You see lots of ponies busy with clothes making materials shambling all over the place. Spitting image of Coco when she's working
  846. >There's pony models here. I guess it would be a stallions wet dream. If you were back at earth, you know it's yours
  847. >Lots of paparazzi. That's expected
  848. >She leads you to a hall of elevators
  849. >She presses a button. The two of you wait a bit before one opens up.
  850. >The two of you step inside as she presses the '42'
  851. >Classy Jazz plays
  852. "Classy."
  853. "I know."
  854. >A few moments later, the elevators opens with a 'ding'
  855. >She steps out and begins walking to a purple color door. You follow suit
  856. "Here we are."
  857. >She trots up to the door
  858. "Let me talk to her first, alright Anon?"
  859. "Alright"
  860. >She takes deep breath and puts on her determined face
  861. >She nods to herself before proceeding
  862. >She opens the door and proceeds inside
  863. >You follow suit, hanging in the back all the while
  864. >What greets you is a professional looking office with an annoyed looking mare on the desk going over what seems to be a catalog.
  865. "U-um... Ms. Suri."
  866. >Her determined look from before melts away. Great. Just great.
  867. "Since you're here, I would assume that the order is finished then?"
  868. >She speaks form her desk not breaking stride in her conveyance of annoyance
  869. >She has that city girl accent thing going on. Which you personally find rather cute and charming in a woman.
  870. "Um...N-not yet Ms. Suri. But I've finished one for you to check."
  871. "Tch. Bring it"
  872. >Bitch.
  873. >Coco sheepishly walks over to the desk and places the dress on the other end.
  874. >Suri gives it a quick glance over before return to her catalog
  875. "The trim clashes with the hue, the underhand stitch is underwhelming, the body is too voluminous and the hem looks like it was made by hydras. This is poor. Did you even put any effort into this? What's this part anyway?"
  876. >She says pointing to a part of a dress
  877. >Ass.
  878. >It stings you a bit considering you also put in some effort on that dress
  879. >Still you can tell she knows her shit. Mostly from her quick diagnostic that you didn't quite catch on.
  880. >She looks more annoyed than before
  881. >Her assistant on the other hand looks like she's about to cry... Can't blame her. This looks painful to watch and seems to drag on so slowly. Mostly because the author is too busy googling fashion terms.
  882. "U-um I used the chiffon fabric like you said"
  883. "I didn't say to use it like a cheap patch on quilt, you moron".
  884. >Dick
  885. "Um I-I'm sorry... I'll fix it again"
  886. >She says looking down while going over to the desk to retrieve the dress
  887. >Coco's really holding back her tears at this point
  888. >Suri gives a loud obnoxious sigh before finally turning to you
  889. "What's the town monkey doing here?"
  890. >Cunt.
  891. >You open your mouth but Coco cuts you off immediately
  892. "Th-this is Anonymous. He's looking for an employment. I was hoping he could help me with the orders and such"
  893. "Ugh. Having to deal with you is enough already...Hey monkey, what's your cutie mark?"
  894. >Jerk
  895. >You open your mouth once more but Coco steps in
  896. "H-he doesn't have one. Human's never have one."
  897. >Suri laughs condescendingly
  898. "That's sad. If you don't even have one, what makes you think I'd hire your sad monkey flank?"
  899. >Bastard
  900. "H-he's real helpful. He's like a jack of all trades. He even helped me last night with the dress."
  901. "Hey idiot, let the monkey talk. Hey. You CAN talk, can you?"
  902. >She turns to you
  903. >Coco clamors up fighting back her waterworks and sniffles
  904. >She's completely lost her look of determination from earlier
  905. >Still, she's really trying her best despite the circumstances. It's a bit... endearing.
  906. >Guess, it's my turn now huh.
  907. "Yes, maam. I apologize, maam."
  908. >You say straightfaced
  909. >A sweat drips down though. No way you're gonna fuck this up... Not after Coco stood up for you like this
  910. >Still, you don't particularly relish the concept of having to suck up your pride for this asshat.
  911. "Ha, 'maam'. Cute. Did you really help this idiot?"
  912. >Fucker
  913. "Yes,maam. Though concede that Ms. Pommel did the majority of the endeavor."
  914. >Gotta pull out your fancy sounding words. She seems unimpressed
  915. "Well, the end result is stupid. Go away."
  916. >ill rek u m8 i swear on me mum
  917. >Still, you figured as much. Just like always
  918. >You sigh internally
  919. "But his help was really needed! I wouldn't have had to finish that one today, otherwise! You know how time consuming it is to make a dress Ms. Suri"
  920. >Coco quickly interjects.
  921. >Her eyes are clearly tearing but she hold firm, despite shivering a bit
  922. >You don't have to try this hard for me, you stupid horse.
  923. >Suri rolls her eyes.
  924. "...Tch. Fine."
  925. >Motherfuc- wait, what?
  926. >You're surprised. You see Coco is too. At least she's smiling now, even if a bit feint
  927. >She turns to you
  928. "Hey monkey, you're under that idiot. Do what she says, you're her slave. If she doesn't improve, you're out. And maybe even her too. Are we clear?"
  929. "Crystal, maam."
  930. >Great, now Coco's at stake
  931. "Good. Go to the mare on the reception desk on the lobby, tell her you're under Suri Polomare's payroll... Well, what are you waiting for, Hearthswarming Eve? Get out of here! The two of you have dresses to make."
  932. "Understood, maam. Thank you, maam"
  933. >You'd call her more mean names but she just gave you a job. Ah what the hell. Slut.
  934. >Feels pretty good to actually have a job now though. For the first time in forever.
  935. >The two of you leave the room.
  936. >Your pokerface falls apart and a scowl appears in its place
  937. >Coco's not fairing any better, she let one small tear run down her cheek
  938. >...Dammit
  939. >She sucks it up before turning to you with a large smile on her face
  940. >You've never thought about it but she looks real cute.
  941. >You feel your cheeks redden
  942. >You place a hand on her head and look away
  943. "...Thank you..."
  944. "...You're welcome."
  945. >She says before trotting to another door
  946. "Anon, let's stop by quick here."
  947. >She opens the door to reveal an office not unlike Suri's but smaller by comparison.
  948. "This is my office, come in Anon"
  949. "You have an office?"
  950. "Mhmm. But I don't use it as much because I take most of the work at home"
  951. >She trots over to the window
  952. "Come here, Anon! I want to show this to you"
  953. >She's like a schoolgirl that was noticed by her beloved senpai
  954. "Alright alright"
  955. >You say walking to her
  956. >She opens the window. The city breeze rushes in flowing her bright blue mane. She wears a look of melancholy
  957. >You can't help but stare
  958. >...
  959. "...Beautiful, isn't it?"
  960. "...Yeah...Oh! You're talking about the view, hahaaa..."
  961. >You look over at the view
  962. >...
  963. >It's breathtaking. You can see the park from here. That lake. The little plaza. The high rise buildings. It looks just like that time your dad took you to the top of the building he worked.
  964. >...You feel homesick.
  965. "You know, after being here for almost a year, Equestria has really grown on me...but it's not exactly Earth..."
  966. "Anon?"
  967. "We should probably head back and get a head start on those dresses."
  968. >She takes on last look from the window before nodding to herself
  969. "You're right. Let's go."
  970. >The two of you head out of the office
  971. >You stop by the mare at the lobby and mention her your employment to Suri
  972. >She asks for your name, contact details, age. The usual.
  973. >Coco helps you for the strange ones you have no idea how to answer
  974. >The two of you stop by a restaurant to take out something for lunch
  975. >Sure long term money problems are taken care of somewhat but until you've gotten your first paycheck, you're still in the red
  976. >You look over to Coco busy looking at the menu
  977. >She's such a good friend. You'd hate to come off as ungrateful
  978. "Oooh so many choices. What'll you have Anon?"
  979. "...No thanks, I'm good."
  980. "Anon."
  981. "Really, there's still some leftovers at home. I'm okay"
  982. "Anon."
  983. "What"
  984. "Anon, there's nothing wrong with asking for help once in a while"
  985. >...
  986. "...You're not gonna let this go easily huh."
  987. "Nope. Besides I'm not treating you. You're going to owe me lunch when you're able to"
  988. >Guess that's works too
  989. "Fine. Letsee..."
  990. >You lower yourself to look at the menu Coco's holding
  991. >You haven't thought about taking an order. Some meat would be nice. But barring that, something with cheese.
  992. "Umm...Anon."
  993. >Well, there's no meat here. No fish here too. Guess this is an exclusively pony place.
  994. >Hey pasta. Lasagna seems nice. Vegetarian but that doesn't bother you at all
  995. "Anon."
  996. "Huh?"
  997. "Umm... You're too close"
  998. >You turn to her only to be met with her reddened face mere inches from yours
  999. "Ah, sorry"
1000. >You say quickly pulling back
  1001. >She chuckles
1002. "That's alright. Made your choice yet?"
  1003. "I'll take the Lasagna."
1004. "Ohh. That's nice too. But I'll still stick to the salad."
1005. >She walks up to the waiter to tell him our orders.
1006. >After few minutes of waiting and idle talk, the two of you take your orders and head back
1007. >The two of you enter her apartment. She quickly places the dress on the living room while you remove your shoes at the door.
1008. >You follow inside the room to see her contemplating on the dress. You place your ordered food on the table before plopping down on the couch.
1009. >Damn, I'm sure as hell getting a couch like this.
  1010. >She looks like she's stressing herself
1011. "...Still thinking about what Suri said."
1012. "I know she must seem really mean but she knows what she's talking about."
1013. >Not that you can really prove otherwise.
1014. >She runs back and grabs a paper and a pencil
1015. >She quickly takes it with her mouth and sketches out something
1016. >You peer over to look
1017. >She sketching out what appears to be the dress worn on a pony
1018. >Rather impressive. She's way better with her mouth than you are with your hands... No sexual... Alright, slightly sexual.
1019. >She encircles some parts on it.
1020. >She drops the pencil and takes the paper and shows it to you
  1021. "See this part, Anon."
1022. >She motions on a circle near the hem
1023. "This clashes with this part"
1024. >She motions on the encircled part on the withers of the sketch
1025. "And here. I thought a simple underhand stitch would suffice but... I see... how hind-sighted of me..."
1026. >It's all so very complicated and you don't really catch on much
1027. >She continues on trying to teach you. Well, maybe not really. It's kinda like the rubber ducky debugging you used to do at home. Only you used army men toys. Particularly the minesweeper guy.
1028. >You can't help but chuckle to yourself
1029. >She looks so rather cute when she's so fired up like this.
1030. >She nods once more to herself before going back to the paper and pencil for another sketch
1031. >You slouch back on the couch, just watching her go about her way.
1032. "Hey. Tell me when you need some help alright."
1033. >She just smiles at you in response
1034. >You let her do her thing.
1035. >Wish you could be more of a help though
1036. >She looks at you slumping down on the sofa
1037. "...Hey, Anon. Want me to teach you some? It's really fun. At least for me it is"
1038. "Coco, I'm really bad at that kinda stuff."
1039. "You don't know if you don't even try, Anon"
1040. "I think I can speak for myself when I say how hopeless I am at this."
  1041. >She looks a bit dejected
  1042. >...
1043. "...I appreciate the offer though."
1044. >She looks blankly a while before turning to you with a smile.
1045. "Anon can you fetch me the cyan and blue fabrics. And also my measuring tape and scissors "
  1046. "Got it."
1047. >You do as you are told
1048. >Taking the materials, she expertly cuts some pieces off
1049. >She then does various things like adjust the trim, ruffle the coat, polish the sheen among other things
1050. >She asks for your help once in a while, asking you to hold down a part, pull on one to give it the tension while she sews, that kinda thing.
1051. >You go to the kitchen and warm up the food the two of you bought
1052. >She's still busy with the dress by the time you return
  1053. >She's so hardworking
  1054. >...
1055. >Why are you a bit upset though?
1056. >Shrugging, you walk up to the table and place the food on it.
1057. >She's so engrossed with the dress she doesn't even notice.
1058. >You slowly reach up to her and poke her cheek
1059. >She gives out a small surprised yelp
  1060. "A-anon?"
  1061. "Lunchtime."
1062. >You motion to the plates of food
  1063. "Oh. Lunch time already?"
1064. >You nod as you hand her the salad
  1065. >You take your lasagna
  1066. >You take a bite.
1067. >Damn, this is good pasta
1068. >You look over to Coco whose enjoying hers too likewise
1069. >It looks like your usual salad but it has roses and sunflowers on it. Shame. It looked delectable too
  1070. >She sees you staring
1071. "This is really good, Anon. Want some?"
1072. >She says holding over a fork with some lettuce and rose petals on it.
1073. "Still can't eat flower, Coco."
1074. "Oh. Right Forgot about that... How about the lasagna, can I try some?"
1075. >You offer up the plate to her
  1076. "Ahhh..."
1077. >She says mouth open, eyes closed
  1078. >You roll your eyes
1079. >You cut a piece with your fork and feed to her
  1080. "...This is good too!"
1081. >She says while chewing with a smile
1082. "I'll have to remember to try this out next time we go there"
1083. >This is good but it was also pretty expensive
  1084. "Next time?"
1085. "Mhmm. You owe me after all"
  1086. >She says with a smile
  1087. >Well, you kinda do
1088. "Fine...When I got my bearings, I'd love to take you out"
  1089. >She giggles
1090. "I'll hold you to that then"
1091. >The two of you eat lunch together while chatting idly
1092. >After you finish, you offer to clean the plates while she continues on
1093. >You do just so and accompany her after you're done with the dishes
1094. >After an hour, she pulls up the dress and beams at you
1095. "How is it? How is it?"
  1096. >She's so excited
1097. >The dress itself, well... Honestly it doesn't look all that much different. A few things changed here and there but the overall appearance is the same as it was originally. The little things that differed however are quite noticeable and also quite an improvement
1098. "Truth be told, yeah it looks better but not by much. But that's just a beginner's opinion"
1099. >She looks a bit down before nodding to herself
1100. "As long there is, it's good enough for me. And besides, the little details actually matter quite a lot in the fashion world"
1101. >She nods once more to herself.
1102. "Let's get started on the other dresses, Anon."
  1103. "Alright"
1104. >You say as you follow her into her room
1105. >The amount of fabric left scares you a bit.
1106. >At least you know the two of you'll be busy for a while... well, mostly her.
1107. "You know, you guys don't usually wear clothing so why the high demand for these"
1108. "Clothes are for special occasions, silly. Everypony would want to have the perfect ensemble for those special moments."
1109. >Kinda answers why your clothes look a bit gaudier than everyday wear you're used to.
1110. "What about that little collar you wear all the time?"
1111. >You say motioning to her violet collar with a red ribbon
  1112. >She looks puzzled
  1113. "What about this?"
  1114. "It's kinda strange. It's just a collar without a shirt attached"
1115. >She drops her head to look at it
1116. "This was the first thing I ever made. I tried to get my father a birthday present but seeing as I'm still a little filly with no bits, I decided to make him one instead."
  1117. >She looks at you
1118. "I wanted it to be a surprise. So one day I snuck into my parents room and grabbed what ever material I can use. I tried making it from the top first and started with the collar. I used the books I borrowed from the local library to help me. It was really difficult. But strangely, it was also fun, learning like that even if it was only the part on putting together a collar, not yet even the actual shirt. I was so engrossed at the whole thing that I didn't realize the collar was actually finished. When I was finished, I realized how much I enjoyed it. Creating something for another pony. Trying to learn more so you can create better for them. It was a strange feeling. Then it hit me."
1119. >She motions at her flank
  1120. "My cutie mark."
1121. >...Trying to please her dad, huh...
  1122. >...
1123. "It's my most important possession."
1124. >She says once more looking at it
1125. >...Now you feel like a dick for mocking that little collar. Splendid.
  1126. "...Then what happened?"
1127. >She was a bit surprised by your question.
1128. >She looks at you, giggling a little
1129. "I made him a birthday card instead."
  1130. "What?"
  1131. >She chuckles once more
1132. "Well when I got my cutie mark, father was so proud that he refused to accept the shirt, even before it was finished. Said it belonged to me and only me."
  1133. >...Proud huh.
  1134. >...
1135. "...Sorry, if I thought it... nevermind. Just, sorry."
1136. "...You can be honest with me, Anon. We're friends."
  1137. "It's not important"
1138. "I want to hear it."
1139. >She looks serious... As serious as a cute little cream colored pony looks.
1140. "I thought it looked rather stupid."
  1141. >She looks rather hurt
1142. "...But that's just me. I have no knowledge in fashion whatsoever."
1143. >Her ears perk up. She's looking expectantly
1144. "Then why don't you learn?"
1145. >Wait aren't we talking about the collar?
1146. "It's just not my thing..."
1147. >She pouts at your response before easing up and nodding to herself
  1148. "Thank you, Anon."
  1149. "...What for?"
1150. "For being honest with me. I appreciate that."
  1151. >She gives you a small smirk
1152. "But sorry to say, I'm still going to wear this."
  1153. >She says playfully
1154. >Maybe I should play along. Why not?
1155. "So you're going to continue looking silly?"
1156. "Only if you continue having bad taste."
1157. >Damn. Touche, small horse. Touche.
1158. >She laughs playfully at you.
1159. >What the hell, you join her.
1160. >The two of you try to work on a new dress. You both went at it for the whole day.
1161. >She treated you to some egg soup she quickly made. It was rather delicious for something so simple.
1162. >The two of you went about dinner talking about small inconsequential things.
  1163. >It was nice.
1164. >You went back home, and took a bath before plopping down to bed.
1165. >As you close the lights, you hear a knock on the wall next to your bed.
  1166. "Anon?"
  1167. >A muffled voice beckons
  1168. "Yeah."
1169. >You say back, you voice slightly raised to make sure it reaches her
1170. "I had fun today. Thank you"
1171. "Yeah. Me too...Best I've had in Equestria"
1172. >You can hear a muffled giggle from the other side
  1173. "Goodnight, Anon."
  1174. "Goodnight, Coco"
1175. >First job since coming here. It's not as difficult as you imagine it to be, though your mare work partner certainly helps it to be. Still it was rather easy, if not a bit underwhelming.
1176. >But more importantly, you have a friend here. That's really something. You wonder again what your sister would say.
  1177. >...Probably something mocking.
  1178. >Whatever.
1179. >You shrug it off and drift to sleep.
  1180.
  1181. >A month passes by
1182. >The order was completed in a week. Though other smaller orders happened to trinkle in from time to time
1183. >Thankfully, your asshole of a boss did not show any qualms about the first one. Thus, the two of you made the other orders in an almost similar pattern. Mostly her rather, you were just the grunt man in a way.
1184. >Still, it was far from unpleasant.
1185. >She is really eager to learn. She jumped at every chance she can to practice her craft...it annoyed you a bit for some reason.
1186. >You can tell she loved her work despite the mare that oversees the two of you. Thank God- or rather, Celestia- that the two of you don't have to appear to work that often... which is kind of a shame because the building is a really swanky place.
1187. >The two of you gotten a lot more closer. Guess it was bound to happen considering how much time the two of you spend together. Even during off hours the two of you'd hangout. When the inspiration was getting tight, the two of you'd clear your head in the park. She took you shopping twice. You didn't get anything, her too. Mostly just a way to look at designs, perhaps gather some inspiration. She'd talk to you about fashion. She'd try to teach you a bit but you don't really learn much considering it's not really your interest. But you'd still listen. Just not as much as she'd like truth be told.
1188. >She'd go out once in a while with her friends. Mostly from the other ponies she got to know in the building where the two of you worked. She introduced them when you met them one day during a visit to Suri. They're nice. A bit stuck up but not to the point of obnoxiousness. Guess it comes with being involved in the fashion world. Coco's a rather interesting exception.
1189. >The financial situation has steadied out. You're no Bill Gates but at least you're not on the verge of eating out of the garbage anytime soon.
1190. >Still no news from the princess though. But you mostly forgotten about that already. You had pretty much settled here. No major plans though. Just living comfortably from day to day.
  1191. >You don't think about Earth much.
1192. >All in all this is pretty much a rather good situation to be in. Nothing could bring this down.
  1193. "Hey monkey"
  1194. >Except her
  1195. "Hurry up back there"
1196. >You grunt under the stack of bolts you are carrying
1197. >You're now at the runway. Apparently, a big event is gonna happen soon. Lot's of ponies here all busy. Lots of models and designers. This place is more colorful than a gay pride parade.
  1198. "Yes, maam"
1199. >And here you are carrying some supplies while Suri went over the event to Coco.
1200. "See that mare by the door, tacky outfit. Color pattern like that makes me want to vomit. The stitches are bold, I can see them from here and..."
1201. >She continues to berate the model pony from afar
1202. >Huh. You thought the outfit looked kinda good on her
1203. >Coco on the other hand seems to be listening intently with her trademark determined expression. You chuckle a bit to yourself.
1204. "Listen to what I'm saying you, moron! I don't want you making those mistakes on the dresses! I need that first place prize."
  1205. "U-um I am..."
1206. "Good, now bring me coffee. Hurry!"
1207. >You plop down the bolts of fabric by the wall just as you are told earlier. You begin inspecting the rolls for any major defects it may have. It's nothing major. At least it didn't leave much interaction from your boss.
1208. >You see Coco return with the coffee.
1209. >Suri takes a sip and grimaces in disgust.
  1210. "Disgusting! You're so incompetent!"
  1211. >Coco looks really hurt
1212. "If your incompetence shows on those dresses, I swear...You're as useless as ever. If I don't win this, I-"
1213. >Coco's holding back her tears
  1214. >That's it.
1215. "Hey! She's making the clothes for you to enter, you chuklefuck. You don't even have to lift a damn hoof. The least you can do is not fucking yell at her and be grateful for even accepting the heavy workload, you ass."
1216. >Coco looks surprised at your sudden outburst
1217. "Did I ask for you opinion, monkey? Besides it was her bright idea in the first place"
1218. >She says motioning to Coco
  1219. "What?"
  1220. >Coco looks downward
1221. "This is stupid. Just make sure you bring me the dresses, you incompetent fool."
1222. >Suri says as she makes her way out of the room.
1223. "What the hell, Coco?! What were you thinking?!"
1224. >You can't help but raise your voice. Of all the stupid ideas.
1225. >She looks even worse now with you than with Suri. She's really fighting back her tears.
  1226. >...
  1227. >...Fuck.
  1228. "...I'm sorry... It's just...That was... Why?"
1229. >You say with your voice significantly softer
  1230. >She sniffs
  1231. >...Fuuuck
1232. "...Alright. I'm really sorry... you don't have to tell me, if you don't want. I just...I'm worried about you. You're overworked enough as it is."
1233. >She wipes her eyes with her hoof before speaking up
  1234. "I-I s-still can't enter fashion week because I'm still not a designer myself"
1235. >She wipes her eyes once more
1236. "But if my designs make it, I know I...I..."
1237. >Her voice shakes and stumbles around
1238. >You feel like you need someone to point a gun at your head and pull the trigger right now
1239. >You bend down and give her a hug.
1240. "...Alright I get it...you don't have to say anymore"
1241. >She presses her face on your shoulder
  1242. "You're not upset?"
1243. >She says, her voice muffled by your clothes
1244. "Far from it. Just... don't push yourself too hard alright."
1245. >She pushes away from you. She wipes her eyes before nodding to herself.
1246. >She turns to you with a bright little smile
  1247. >Sigh... Stupid little horse.
1248. >You hear a stomping of hooves and jeers
  1249. "Woooo."
1250. >The two of you look around to see the ponies in the room cheering
1251. >The two of you turn red. Apparently every one here saw your little scene.
  1252. "I-I-I-It's not funny guys!"
  1253. >Coco speaks up
1254. "Daww, widdle Coco's blushing. How cute!"
1255. "So that's your type, huh Coco"
  1256. "So how's them fingers?"
1257. >The other ponies jeer and swoon
1258. >They're Coco's friends so it's all in good fun. They're not being mean or anything.
1259. >It was rather embarrassing though.
1260. >Much to the chagrin of the two of you, you both left the room and the building afterward with you carrying the bolts of cloth.
1261. >It's afternoon now. Guess fashion week really did require that much work. You're sore in some spots.
1262. >The two of you walk the sidewalk in awkward silence
1263. >You should probably be the ice breaker here considering it is your fault. Your outburst after all.
1264. "...Sorry about all that. Didn't mean to embarrass us like that..."
  1265. "Umm... It's alright..."
1266. >She says looking away, bright red in the face
1267. >She nods to herself before turning to face you with a rather warm smile
1268. "Thanks for standing up to me, Anon."
1269. >Now it's your turn to be red
  1270. "...Yeah... No problem."
  1271. >She giggles
1272. >The two of you continue to walk down the path back to your home
1273. >At least the silence is no longer awkward
1274. >She's humming a light tune from a song by Sapphire Shores
1275. >It's rather cute and upbeat
1276. >The two of you reach the park
  1277. "Hey, Coco"
  1278. "Mhmm."
1279. >She nods. She already knows. It became somewhat of ritual for the two of you to spend a few minutes in front of the lake. It was a small inconsequential thing. And it was rather relaxing after a stressful trip from the fashion building as you'd taken to calling it
1280. >After a few minutes she smiles at you
  1281. "Let's go, Anon."
  1282. "Alright."
1283. >The two of you reach your apartments. After dropping off the fabrics at her place, you went back to yours to fix a dinner for two.
1284. >It was a thing the two of you have been doing. One of you would make breakfast, lunch or dinner for two in alternating fashion. And you'd eat it together at her place. Mostly because she knows how much you're in love with her couch... And it was fun, spending a meal with someone...close
1285. >Right now is your turn. You're making spaghetti. You have a thing for pasta which you never understood why.
1286. >You take the two plates and bring it over to her place. The two of you don't even bother to close the doors anymore. You're free to enter her place whenever and she enter yours.
1287. >It's rather nice having someone to trust you this much. You never got this back on Earth.
1288. >You enter the living room to see her on the table reading the fashion magazine she bought last week.
  1289. "Hey, guess what."
1290. >You say from behind her
1291. "Oh. Oh. Wait a minute"
1292. >She says sniffing the air
  1293. "Fettuccine"
  1294. "No."
  1295. "Spaghetti"
  1296. "Ugh."
1297. >You groan as you hand her her share and take the place in the table next to her
  1298. "Too easy?"
1299. "You can only cook two pasta dishes, Anon."
1300. >She says as she takes a forkful and taking a bite.
1301. >She smiles as she does so.
  1302. "Well, I don't see you complaining"
  1303. "I washnt"
1304. >She mumbles with her cheeks full.
1305. >The two of you continue to eat.
1306. "Should we start on the dresses tomorrow, Anon?"
1307. >Woops. You almost forgot. You have something you'd like to do tomorrow
1308. "Oh come on. It's Saturday. We should take it easy."
1309. "Well... I was kinda hoping there's no plans tomorrow."
1310. >She stops to look at you
  1311. "What's wrong?"
1312. "Well... nothing. Just feeling a bit lazy is all."
1313. >Tomorrow is your birthday. Well sort of. It has been 1 year since you came here. You think what to take it easy tomorrow. Get a meal and just laze out, nothing special.
  1314. "Don't mind me."
  1315. >She furrows her eyebrows
  1316. "...If you say so..."
1317. >The two of you finish dinner
1318. >With a goodnight, you take the plates and return to your side.
1319. >You wash them hastily before taking a shower and plopping down on the bed afterwards.
  1320. "Coco, you there"
1321. >You say to the wall.
  1322. "What's up, Anon?"
1323. >She replies, muffled by the wall
1324. >I was gonna invite her tomorrow but she'd probably prefer working on those dresses. They are rather important to her after all
1325. "...No, it's nothing. Goodnight, Coco."
  1326. "Wait."
  1327. "Yeah?"
1328. "I really want to thank you... about earlier... with Suri"
1329. "You already did that you know. Besides, it's not really the first time I stood up for you"
  1330. "I know... That's what I mean... Thank you."
  1331. >...
1332. "You know, I owe a lot to you too, Coco. Even more so, if you ask me."
  1333. "You know I can't have that."
1334. >She giggles from the other side
1335. >Yeah. Just like her usually.
1336. "Anon, how about this? We'll call it even. Deal?"
  1337. "Yeah. Deal"
  1338. >She giggles once more
1339. >You can picture her nodding to herself
  1340. "Goodnight, Coco."
  1341. "Goodnight, Anon."
  1342.
1343. >Woke up feeling Thirty-five. Though grateful that I'm still alive.
1344. >Maybe not really but you are kinda grateful about not being dead.
1345. >You make it a point today to get up much earlier than usual
1346. >You take a quick bath and go to the kitchen afterwards
1347. >You make breakfast for two. Just an onion and garlic omelette along with mango juice, nothing special.
1348. >You take the two plates and head outside.
1349. >You enter her apartment and head for the living room. It's funny how the two of you don't bother locking up anymore. That would really be a stupid move if this was Earth, though.
1350. >You place them on the table while you wait on the couch
1351. >Oh couch, why do I love you so.
1352. >You almost nod off completely before hearing a door creak open
  1353. "...Anon? Is that you?"
1354. >In comes Coco with bedhead. You've already seen her a couple of times like this and it steel looks adorably ridiculous
1355. "Morning, bedhead. I made breakfast."
1356. >She walks up to you
  1357. "I thought it's my turn today?"
1358. "Just thought you should take it easy for a change."
  1359. >She giggles
  1360. "Thanks, Anon."
1361. >She says taking the seat next to you and taking the plate for her.
  1362. >You do the same
1363. >The two of you eat breakfast in relative peace with some idle chat here and there.
1364. >You take the plates as you two finish
1365. "Anon, I'll just take a bath first ok?"
1366. "Alright, I'll just clean these. I'll be right back"
1367. >You went over to your side and begin cleaning the plates
1368. >You return back to her side and wait for her on the couch
1369. >After a few minutes she steps out of the door looking neat and proper, just how she usually looks.
1370. >She goes over to a dresser and pulls out some paper and writing materials
1371. >She places them on the table before speaking up
1372. "We should get started, Anon."
  1373. "Alright."
1374. >You get out from the slice of heaven you call the couch and sit up next to her on the floor.
1375. >She takes a bunch of fashion magazines and inspects some of them
1376. >She gets to work immediately
1377. >She's rather enthusiastic. Much more so than she usually is.
1378. >The highlight of Fashion Week is still a week a away. Plenty of time, right?
  1379. >You guess.
1380. >Coco's going though paper like you would go through bacon, sketching various dress designs with reference to the open fashion magazines scattered about. She'd then go over the drawings and grimace before discarding them completely. Every once in a while she'd nod to herself over a particular drawing and put it in another pile.
1381. >You're just here next to her, staring. Not much you can do here.
1382. "Anon, why don't you look at these and see if you can come up with a design"
1383. "Coco, you and I both know I wouldn't be able to do that even if my life depended on it"
1384. >She stops to give you a rather concerned look
1385. "...You're not even trying, Anon..."
1386. >She mumbles something you didn't quite catch
  1387. "Come again?"
  1388. "...It's nothing."
1389. >She returns to her work looking a bit dejected.
1390. >What was that all about?
1391. >The two of you continue on like this.
1392. >You read a few articles on one magazine, those ones that don't talk about fashion.
  1393. >I'm bored, don't judge me.
1394. >It turns out to be the typical bullshit they publish on women's magazine
  1395. >You realized it's lunchtime.
1396. >Coco's still engrossed with her usual thing.
  1397. >You poke her cheeks
  1398. "Wha-?"
  1399. >She says surprised
  1400. "It's lunchtime."
1401. >She looks at the clock before back to you
1402. "Oh! Umm. Lost track of time... Sorry, Anon"
1403. >She gets up after putting aside all the things she was working on
1404. "I'll fix up something in the kitchen. You have anything particular you want, Anon?"
1405. "Actually, I was thinking of taking us out today. My treat."
  1406. >She looks at you
1407. "Are you sure, Anon? You already did breakfast."
1408. >You get up from where you're standing
1409. "It's no problem at all. I promise. Besides, don't I owe you that lunch from before?"
  1410. >She thinks a bit before nodding
1411. "Well, if you say so... Alright let's go"
1412. >She says walking up next to you with a smile on her face.
1413. >The two of you went out to a rather classy restaurant just a few blocks from your apartments
1414. >She turns to you with worried look
1415. "This looks really expensive, Anon. Are you sure about this?"
1416. "Of course. It's fine once in a while right?"
1417. >She furrows her eyebrows before nodding
1418. >The two of you head inside to be greeted by a frenchie waiter. The guys sits the two of you on a table for two near the far side of the wall.
1419. >Inside is just as you'd imagine it judging from the outside of the establishment, really really fancy
1420. >This would've been probably better for dinner but no matter, you're already here.
1421. "Order anything you like. It's on me"
1422. >She looks worried over to you before looking at the menu
  1423. >You do the same
1424. >After a few moments, the waiter checks back on the two of you. She orders a daffodil stew and you, ravioli with white sauce..
1425. >The waiter nods before trotting away.
1426. "Alright, Anon, what's with the lavishness?"
1427. "I just thought it could be a nice change of pace"
  1428. >She doesn't buy it
  1429. "Anon."
1430. "Oh alright. Today's kinda a special day for me. In a way"
1431. >She blinks, looking at you expectantly
1432. "It's my birthday today...Kinda. It's been one year since I've been in Equestria."
1433. >She beams quickly before frowning
1434. "Why didn't you tell me?"
1435. "It's not that of a big deal. Besides, getting a headstart on those dresses would probably be more important."
1436. "Anon it's a very big deal! You're somepony important. The dresses can wait."
  1437. >Somepo- someone important, huh.
  1438. >...
1439. "I also didn't want to blow this out of proportion, a nice meal is enough for me"
1440. "No, Anon. After this we're taking a break"
  1441. >You raise and eyebrow
1442. "I thought those designs are important to you."
1443. "They are but you're more."
1444. >You roll your eyes... it does feel pretty nice hearing that though.
  1445. "Coco."
1446. "No, Anon. I won't take no for an answer."
1447. >She says with her determined face before nodding to herself
  1448. >You sigh.
1449. "How come you can stand up to me but not to Suri?"
  1450. >She giggles
1451. "...So what do you want to do after, Anon."
1452. "Well, I don't know really. Probably just laze around the apartment the whole day."
  1453. >She pouts
  1454. "That won't do, Anon."
1455. "I'm not really the 'party-hard' kind of guy. I'm more of a laid back 'come-what-may' guy."
1456. >She looks a bit annoyed by something you said.
1457. >She shrugs it off before nodding to herself
1458. "Anon, you're going with me after this. No 'but's."
  1459. >You roll your eyes
  1460. "...Alright, alright."
1461. >She smiles at your response
  1462. >...
  1463. >Stupid mare.
1464. >After a few minutes of enjoying each other's company, your orders arrive.
  1465. >You immediately dig in.
1466. >This is good ravioli. Pretty damn good.
1467. "This is pretty good, Coco. Now I know why this place is so damn expensive"
  1468. "That's ravioli right, can I try?"
  1469. "Sure"
1470. >You say pushing her your plate.
  1471. "Anon, you're so uncultured."
  1472. >She says with a pout.
  1473. "What?"
  1474. "Ahhh..."
  1475. >She says, mouth open
  1476. "Seriously?"
1477. >You shrug it off and go along with her
1478. >You take a saucy piece feed it to her
1479. >She munches happily on it.
  1480. "Mmm! You're right!"
1481. >There's some sauce on her lips
  1482. "Coco."
1483. >You say motioning to your lips
1484. >She stares curiously before turning bright red
  1485. "A-anon... This is so sudden...but..."
  1486. >What's she talking about?
1487. >Before you can ask, she closes her eyes and puckers up her lips to you
1488. >There's a delay before the gears in your noggin start turning.
  1489. >Oh! Ah...
1490. >Now you're also red in the face.
1491. "...I meant there's some sauce on your lips, Coco..."
1492. >She pulls back in surprise
  1493. >That was awkward.
  1494. "Umm... Sorry... Anon..."
  1495. "...It's fine..."
1496. >The two of you wear deep red blushes while she grabs a napkin to wipe her mouth. You avoid each other's eyes all the while
1497. >...That was probably a bad move, Anon.
1498. >You mentally slam your head into the table.
1499. >You can hear her giggle.
1500. >You roll your eyes before joining her in laughter
1501. >The two of you finish. After paying the bill, she practically drags you along the street outside.
  1502. "Come on, Anon!"
1503. "Yeah, yeah. You don't have to pull me, you know"
1504. >The two of you reach the park
1505. "...And here I thought you have some super secret hot spot location up your sleeve"
  1506. >Not that you're complaining
  1507. >She smiles at you
1508. "I just thought we could hang out here and watch the sun set"
1509. >She says as she takes the seat on the bench
1510. >You laugh a bit to yourself before taking the space next to her.
1511. >You ease up and slump down on the bench
1512. >Suddenly, she rests her head on your lap.
  1513. >...
  1514. >...Not like it's a bad thing.
1515. >You take one hand and sift it through her soft mane
1516. >She turns her head to face the view. Her cheek pressed firmly on your leg. She looks melancholic at the scenery... as you do too
1517. >The afternoon breeze blows by at an idle pace
1518. >The orange sky reflects upon the shimmering water of the lake
1519. >...This isn't bad. Yeah. Not bad at all.
  1520. >...
1521. >Time moves by slowly. It's nice like this. Just being like this.
1522. >A few moments pass in relative silence.
  1523. "...Anon."
  1524. "...Yeah?"
  1525. "...What's your dream?"
  1526. >What a strange question
  1527. >...
  1528. >...What IS your dream?
  1529. "...Well...Nothing, really."
1530. >She turns her head to face you with a teary look in her eyes
  1531. "What?"
1532. >She furrows her eyebrows before returning to as she was before
  1533. "...Nothing."
  1534. >...
  1535. "...Tell me about Earth."
  1536. "...It was shitty."
1537. >She doesn't reply. Strange. You thought she would be more forceful about this.
  1538. >You feel a bit guilty.
1539. "Sorry, Coco. I'm just not comfortable talking about my life before."
1540. >Talking about dad. Sis. Yeah, not exactly happy fun topic extraordinaire
1541. >She presses her cheek harder
  1542. "I understand, Anon..."
  1543. >...
1544. >The sunset is beautiful as always.
1545. "...It's getting pretty dark, Coco."
1546. >She gets up, rubs her eyes a bit before nodding to herself before returning that bright smile on her face
1547. "Anon, lets stop by someplace. I want to get something."
1548. >She steps off the bench before you do the same
  1549. "Alight, sure."
  1550. >She chuckles
  1551. "Thanks, Anon"
1552. >She practically drags you to a confectionery shop.
1553. >You're familiar with place but you heaven't tasted any of their goods yet.
1554. >She presses her face on the shop window like a kid in a candy store
1555. "Anon! Anon! There's so much!"
  1556. >She's like a little kid
1557. "Careful not to drool on the window."
1558. >She turns and sticks her tongue at you before pressing once more against the glass
1559. "What kinda cake do you want?"
  1560. "You're treating me?"
  1561. "Of course!"
  1562. >You roll your eyes
1563. "I suppose arguing with you is pointless, huh."
1564. "Yup! Now what do you want?"
  1565. >Sigh. This mare.
1566. >Letseee. You walk up to the glass to get a better look at the cakes.
  1567. "That one. Blueberry"
1568. >You say pointing on the far left one.
  1569. "Alrighty!"
1570. >She says as she enters the shop practically trotting inside
1571. >You opt to follow her in but decide to wait for her outside.
1572. >You get a good look at the stars. You have to admit, it's rather enchanting when you can clearly see the night sky. Something you never got back at Manhattan
1573. >She steps out into the street carrying a box in her mouth along with a paper bag
1574. >You offer to carry them for her. She accepts.
1575. >Turns out the paper bag contains a bottle. Some red wine to be precise.
  1576. "...Wine?"
  1577. >She smiles at you
1578. "It's fine once in a while, right?"
  1579. >You can't help but smile too
  1580. "...Yeah."
1581. >The two of you reach her apartment and enter inside.
1582. >You grab some plates, utensils and wineglasses from the kitchen before joining Coco in the living room with the cake out of it's box
1583. >She looks so eager to taste the cake. Can't blame her though. It does look pretty impressive
  1584. "Hurry, Anon!"
  1585. "Yeah, yeah. Hold on."
1586. >You grab a slice and hand it to her. She immediately takes a bite
1587. "Mmmmmm! Anooooonnn, it's soooo goooood."
  1588. >You snicker
  1589. "Yeah, I can tell"
1590. >You take a slice yourself and try it.
  1591. >...Well, she wasn't kidding.
1592. >She looks at you with a little grin
  1593. "Say it."
  1594. "...Say what?"
1595. "Say: 'Thank you, Coco. You're superior judgement is inferior to mine'."
  1596. >You roll your eyes
1597. "Thank you, Coco. Your superior judgement is inferior to mine"
  1598. >She nods to herself
  1599. "That's better."
1600. >She opens the wine and pours the drinks on the two glasses
  1601. "Come on, Anon. Toast!"
  1602. >You take yours
  1603. "Ugh, to what?"
  1604. >She ponders a moment
  1605. "Mmmm... To you."
  1606. "To me?"
  1607. "To you!"
1608. >She says as she clanks her glass with yours
  1609. >She starts drinking it
  1610. >To me. Heh.
  1611. "Yeah...To me..."
  1612. >...Thanks Coco.
1613. >You drink yours. It was what you expect red wine to taste like, except fruitier. You can't really tell if that's good or bad, you're no wine connoisseur.
1614. >Coco returns to her cake just as you do.
  1615. "Hey Anon, heads up"
1616. >She says as she pours more wine on your glass and hers
1617. >You're going to question about her doing that so abruptly but the taste of the red wine goes surprisingly well with the blueberry cake.
1618. "To... umm... what now, Anon.?"
1619. >You clank glasses with her
  1620. "To you."
  1621. "Yeah. To me."
  1622. >She smiles at you.
1623. >The two of you drink the contents of your glasses.
  1624. >That was pretty nice.
1625. >You feel something wrap on your waist. You see Coco hooves locked with a sleepy looking face.
  1626. >...
1627. >She doesn't say anything... Neither do you.
1628. >You lay your hand on her head. She brushes her tail on your feet
  1629. >...
1630. >This continues for a few minutes before she stands up.
1631. "...Anon, It's getting pretty late. Is it alright if I go to bed first?"
1632. "No that's fine. I was almost done too anyway."
  1633. "Alright... Goodnight, Anon"
  1634. "Goodnight Coco"
1635. >She makes her way to the door
1636. >You finish your current cake slice before you take the wine and the rest of the cake into her kitchen. You put them away before you head back to your apartment for a bath
1637. >You plop down on your bed afterwards
  1638. >...
  1639. "Anon?"
1640. >A voice from the other side of the wall speaks up
  1641. "Yeah, Coco?"
  1642. "...I can't sleep. Tell me a story"
  1643. >You roll your eyes.
1644. "I don't really know any good bedtime stories."
  1645. "Anything's fine..."
  1646. >...
1647. >Fine. What's the worst that could happen.
1648. "...Alright. This is the stories of Bill... When Bill was born, his mother died of complications from childbirth. So Bill never knew his mother. He grew up without one. Bill had a dad and an older sister. His dad loved his mother very much. That's why from time to time he would drink. Whenever his dad would drink, he would take out his frustrations on his kids. Mostly Bill. Especially Bill... But Bill's dad was an ok person when he wasn't drunk, taking him to places around the city. But Bill always knew his dad could never like Bill because he was blamed for what happened to his mother. His sister turned her attention to studying. Whenever Bill's dad would come home drunk, she'd use studying as a way to filter out everything. Bill on the other hand, got the short end of the stick. That made Bill rather depressed and angry. Bill dropped out of school while his sister graduated college. Bill became an even bigger disappointment to his father. His sister left the house to start a family only leaving Bill with his father. His sister became quite successful. One day, Bill's dad was particularly violent that it prompted Bill to runaway from home. He went to stay at his sister, though reluctant about it. His sister doesn't like Bill. She knew that Bill was worthless. So Bill took random odd jobs, getting fired from each one. All the while being berated by his sister and the awkwardness from her family. So Bill hated everything but did not complain because he was in no place to..."
  1649. >You pause for a while.
  1650. "...Anon?"
  1651. "Yeah?"
  1652. "What happened to Bill?"
  1653. >...
  1654. >...
1655. "He decided one day to be happier and everything turned out alright. Then Bill lived happily ever after. The End"
1656. >You fight back the tears
  1657. "...Anon?"
  1658. "Yeah?"
1659. "That was a terrible ending..."
  1660. >No shit.
1661. "You could change it to something better...Say...'One day, Bill met this mare. Her name was Lilly-pad. Lilly-pad was a shy mare. Lilly-pad had lots of problems. Lilly-Pad was pushed around. But Bill helped her through her problems. Bill stood up for Lilly-pad. She was thankful for Bill. She did not see Bill as worthless or a disappointment'."
  1662. >...
1663. "Lilly-pad became close friends with Bill. She never judged Bill. She spent some memorable times with Bill. She wanted Bill to be happy..."
  1664. >She falls silent
1665. "She fell in love with Bill..."
  1666. >...What?
  1667. "Coco?"
  1668. >She doesn't respond.
  1669. "The End... Goodnight, Anon..."
  1670. >...
  1671. >Dammit, Coco
  1672. "Goodnight... Coco."
1673. >You say, partially distorted by the wall and your sniffles.
  1674.
  1675. >wakeupsonglyrics.text
1676. >You get out of bed and take a bath
1677. >Soon after you head into her place without thinking much. Its basically a routine.
1678. >You plop down on the couch with an audible 'pomf'
  1679. "Umm...A-Anon, is that you?"
1680. >She says from the kitchen
  1681. "Yea."
1682. "Umm... I-I'll be almost done with this so p-please be patient."
  1683. "Mhm."
1684. >You mumble as you slump down on the couch
  1685. >...
1686. >You're out of it today.
1687. >In she comes with your breakfasts
1688. >She's looking a bit... meeker that usual with cheeks bright red...Not that you're really surprised
1689. >She hands you your plate before taking the seat next to you
1690. >Without a word, she starts eating hers, managing to avoid eye contact
  1691. >Things are really awkward
1692. >You look at your plate. Vegan sausages.
1693. >You take a bite. Not bad but you really can't enjoy this until you've addressed the obvious
  1694. >...
  1695. "...Hey, Co-"
  1696. "Anon!"
1697. >She cuts you off hastily
1698. "Ummm. Last night, I want you to know that was the alcohol talking. Hahaaa..."
  1699. >Nice try
1700. >She breathes deeply before nodding to herself
1701. "A-And ummm... Maybe you picked up on some... things...Haha...B-but m-maybe we shouldn't really focus on those right now s-since the Fashion Week is going to start soon and we need to concentrate on the task at hoof here..."
1702. >...Yeah. Yeah that works too.
1703. >You give her a gentle reassuring nod
  1704. "Yeah. I understand."
  1705. >She steals a peek at you
  1706. "Th-thank you..."
1707. >You never really thought about it. About relationships and all that considering you were more focused on getting your shit together.
1708. >...Now you can't really place it out of your head so easily. You're now becoming more aware of Coco, not just a friend, but a woman... err, mare.
  1709. >...And yeah, she's not bad.
1710. >You steal a glance at her drinking some orange juice...Yeah, definitely cute.
1711. >You can feel your face heat up
1712. >But she has a point, there are more pressing matters at hoof... hand, whatever.
1713. "...For the record, Lilly-pad seems like a great mare."
  1714. >You say looking away
1715. >She sputters on her juice.
  1716. >She's having a coughing fit.
  1717. "Ah. Sorry."
  1718. "I-it's alright."
1719. >She cleans after herself before the two of you finish breakfast
1720. >She helps you with the dishes. It goes much faster, though you did toss some suds playfully at each other...Not that you hate it.
1721. >After that little bit, she practically drags you to her room. She's rather excited
1722. >She takes the stack of papers by the dress and presses them against you
1723. "What do you think? What do you think?"
1724. >On the papers were concept sketches of the dresses she was planning
  1725. "They look good."
1726. >She narrows her eyebrows at you
  1727. "...That's it?"
1728. "Well, yeah. I don't know about fashion but I know when something looks good"
1729. >She grimaces at your response
  1730. >What'd I say?
1731. >She shakes her head before returning to her former excited state
1732. "Well, anyway let's get a head start already, Anon!"
1733. >She's so eager about all this.
1734. "You know the main competition is still 6 days away. We have plenty of time."
  1735. >She pouts.
1736. "There you go again with your lethargic attitude."
  1737. >You roll your eyes.
1738. "Alrgiht, alright. I wasn't complaining, you know. Just voicing out my thoughts."
1739. >She continues to pout before nodding to herself.
  1740. "Ok, then..."
1741. >She rubs a hoof on her chin
1742. "Grab...hmmm... all the fabrics from the living room and bring em here."
  1743. >You nod.
  1744. >You do just so.
1745. >You spent most of the day doing the grunt work for Coco.
1746. >You wish you could be more help but...
1747. >You even offer to task yourself with making both lunch and dinner. She's reluctant but you insist. It's the least you can do considering she's doing the majority of the work herself.
1748. >The two of you finish up making the base form of the dresses. Nothing fancy yet, but at least the planning and the macro scale of the design is finished... Though, according to Coco, those were the easy parts.
1749. >You head back to your side after dinner, and after a bath, you drift off to sleep
  1750.
  1751. >Four days have passed
1752. >The dresses all have been finished
1753. >Coco really did a wonderful job on them. Tomorrow, is the start of the main event of Fashion Week.
1754. >As you heard from Coco, turns out tomorrow is pretty important for designers everywhere considering a fashion bigshot named Prim Hemline will oversee it. It's really a big deal.
1755. >Still, as impressive as the finished products Coco made, you can't help but feel bad. At yourself particularly, mostly for being unable to assist Coco any harder.
1756. >That's why you're here now, tending to her fever.
1757. >She's been terribly overworked these past few days. Guess the previous work from before really helped bring her to how she is right now. Which is to say in really bad shape. She's on her bed right now resting while you're currently wringing out a fresh wet cloth to place on her forehead
  1758. >You sigh to yourself.
1759. >You should get to cooking breakfast already.
1760. >You gently sift your fingers through her frazzled mane.
1761. "I'm gonna fix us breakfast. Are you gonna be ok for a while??"
1762. "Thank you, Anon. Don't worry about me."
1763. >You rub her head softly. Her ears flicker at your touch
  1764. "Any requests?"
1765. "Some soup would be nice."
  1766. "Gotcha."
1767. >You go to her kitchen to fix up something you always had when you feel like crap, egg noddle soup. Didn't take all that long to make. After a few minutes, it's done
1768. >You take two bowls and two glasses of water and bring it to her room.
1769. >You place the food on the nearby table.
1770. >You help her sit up on the bed and taking the bowl and a spoon, you feed it to her.
  1771. >She flinches
  1772. "...It's hot..."
  1773. "Oh. Right. Sorry."
1774. >You internally palm your face
1775. >You blow on the spoon before gently moving it towards her.
  1776. "How is it?"
  1777. "It's delicious, Anon"
  1778. >She says with a weak smile
1779. "Thanks. It's kinda my specialty since I've managed to cook this for myself even when I'm sick."
1780. >She looks down for some reason
  1781. "What's wrong?"
1782. "...Does that mean no one tends to you when you are sick?"
1783. >You think about it for a while. Even back Earth, that still holds true to a degree
1784. "I...guess. But I live alone, you know. That's expected."
  1785. "..."
  1786. >She doesn't say anything.
1787. >You take this as an opportunity to feed her more. She finishes the rest of her meal in silence.
1788. >You offer her the glass of water. She drinks it. You kinda have to help her a bit because of her slight shivering
1789. >You help her back down on the bed
1790. "You should probably get some rest now."
  1791. "Where will you be?"
  1792. "Just here."
1793. >You say sitting on the floor, leaning on the bed.
1794. "...Sorry, about all this, Anon"
1795. "If you're really sorry, do your best to get better. I'm really worried about you, you know"
1796. >She chuckles a bit before pulling up the cover to her neck
1797. >You take the other bowl and begin eating. It's gone a bit cold but it's still decent.
1798. >You finish with a glass of water.
1799. >You leave the bowl and glasses on the table. You're gonna clean them later
1800. >You rest your head on the bed and stare at the ceiling.
  1801. >...
1802. >You can't get your mind of Coco. About her condition. Even if it was just a case of a little bit of fatigue. Even so...
  1803. >...
1804. >You turn your head to face her. She's sleeping soundly
1805. >She looks really peaceful like this.
  1806. >...
1807. >You laugh a bit to yourself. Never in your whole life would you imagine yourself tending to and worrying about a little cream colored mare... Much less falling in love with one.
1808. >You envy her a bit. Having a goal, working towards that goal, you know, the whole routine.
1809. >It makes you look pitiful by comparison. Sigh. Well, whatever.
  1810. >...
1811. >You brush the back of your hand against her cheek.
1812. >She murmurs something about red laces... Yep, definitely cute.
1813. >Your eyes fall heavy just staring at her.
  1814. >It's a rather calming scene
  1815. >...
1816. >You let yourself nod off a bit. A few seconds can't hurt.
1817. >You feel something soft poke you on the cheek
  1818. "Anon?"
  1819. >You stir together
1820. "Wha-? Oh. Sorry, I feel asleep. What is it Coco?"
1821. "Umm It's lunchtime. I'd make it myself but if you found out I got out of bed, you'd probably go insane"
1822. >She knows you too well.
  1823. >You laugh to yourself
  1824. "Yes. Yes, I would."
1825. >She smiles at your response
1826. >You pat her head and rub your eyes
1827. >You stand up and turn to her
1828. "I'll make the same soup again, please bare with it. It's better for your digestion"
  1829. >She beams at you
  1830. "Anon, I'm not complaining"
1831. >You pat her one last time before heading back into the kitchen
1832. >You fix up some of that soup from before. After a few minutes you return to her.
1833. >You feed her the soup and you eat for yourself after.
1834. >You pill the bowls and glasses atop of the previous ones and return to the kitchen to clean them up
1835. >You return to the bedroom afterwards to find Coco a bit shifty.
  1836. "Anon..."
  1837. "Yeah?"
1838. "...C-can you help me take a bath"
1839. >The two of you turn bright red.
  1840. "Oh. Ugh. Alright..."
1841. >You gently scoop Coco into your arms.
1842. >She covers her face with her hoof in embarrassment.
1843. >You bring her to the bathtub and carefully remove the collar off her. It is rather important to her.
1844. >You open the faucet with great care, turning on the warm water. When the water level reaches for her waist, you close it.
1845. >You don't know much about giving baths to sick ponies but you do know that sponge baths are the ideal here. At least, that's what you'd do.
1846. >You take the loofah hanging around the other cleaning products and wet it. You gently scrub Coco's back.
1847. "...Tell me if I'm being rough alright"
  1848. "...Alright..."
1849. >There's a small smile across her face. She seems to be enjoying this...Well, you kinda are too.
1850. >You spend the next few minutes cleaning her as gently as you can.
1851. >You make an extra note how soft her fur is.
  1852. "...Anon."
  1853. >She says, facing you
1854. >She closes her eyes and slowly pushes her face in front of yours
1855. >Her lips makes contact with yours
1856. >You can feel the shiver in her
1857. >It caught you a bit off guard...But you're not hating this. No, definitely not.
1858. >You close your eyes and relish the feeling
1859. >Her soft wet lips quivered all the while
1860. >It was a simple kiss. No sloppy make outs. No tongue entry. Just simple contact between two lips
  1861. >...
1862. >It was simple and pure yet it conveyed more emotion than you thought possible
  1863. >She breaks away after a while
1864. >She returns to looking down on the tub cheeks bright red as before.
  1865. "...Thank you, Anon."
  1866. >...
  1867. "...You're welcome, Coco."
  1868. >...
  1869. >You finish bathing her
1870. >After drying her off, you return her collar and place her back on the bed.
1871. >She slept a bit while you ran your fingers through her fine mane.
1872. >You stayed like this a few hours.
1873. >You then fixed dinner, soup, the same as before.
1874. >You feed it to her.
  1875. >...
1876. >None of you said anything all the while... Not that there's really anything needed to be said.
1877. >You finish dinner and after cleaning the plates, you return to her room.
1878. >She finally breaks the long silence.
  1879. "...Anon."
  1880. "...Yeah."
1881. "...Can you sleep with me tonight?"
1882. >She says before quickly pulling the covers on her reddened face after realizing what it is she just said
  1883. "I-I-I d-didn't mean it l-like that!...I just-"
  1884. >You laugh a bit to yourself
1885. "Yeah, I got it, Coco"
1886. >After turning off the lights, you slowly lie down next to her. You pull the little mare closer to you.
1887. >She presses her muzzle on your chest.
  1888. >...
  1889. "Goodnight, Anon."
1890. >She says, her words muffled on your shirt
  1891. "Goodnight, Coco"
1892. >You say as you stroke her mane gently
1893. >She's still a bit hot from the fever but not as intensely as before.
1894. >She soon falls asleep in your arms
1895. >You can feel the soft little breaths on your chest.
1896. >You chuckle a bit to yourself before kissing her on the forehead and drifting off yourself.
  1897.
1898. >Wake up wake up dead man!
1899. >Not really. You feel more alive than you've ever been
1900. >You groggily look around the room
1901. >It's a lot more feminine than you remember.
  1902. >Oh right.
1903. >You check your side. She's not there
1904. >You leave the room. Not in the living room
1905. >You check the kitchen. She's on her hindlegs stepping on the counter mixing something that looks to be a batter on a bowl using her mouth. Guess that's pancakes.
1906. >She looks cute like this. Not that she isn't normally. It's just more adorable when there's bits of flour on her nose and cheeks
1907. "Are you sure you should be up like this?"
1908. >You're pretty sure she is but you're still worried all the same
1909. >She's a bit surprised by you sudden voice. She turns to you with a beaming
1910. "Good morning, Anon. And yep. I a lot feel better."
1911. >You walk to her and place the back of your hand against her neck to be sure. Pretty normal temperature.
1912. "I still say you should be resting."
1913. "I can handle myself just fine, dad."
1914. >She says sticking her tongue out. You roll your eyes.
1915. "Any requests to how you want your pancakes done?"
1916. >You ponder a bit. Not really in the mood for anything fancy today
1917. "Just a simple one, please."
  1918. >She nods
1919. "Extra boring, coming right up!"
1920. >You roll your eyes. Still, it's pretty nice to see her in high spirits.
1921. >You head back to the living room and wait on the couch. Her ever-loving couch. So when are you gonna buy a couch like this, Anon?
1922. >She comes back with plates and a stack of pancakes drizzled in maple syrup and butter
1923. >She hands you the simple looking one. Her's seem to have both strawberries and blueberries on them. Maybe you should've taken up her offer.
1924. >She looks at you with a smirk
  1925. "Regretting your decision, Anon?"
  1926. "...Maybe a little"
  1927. >She giggles
1928. >She takes her seat on the floor in front of the table. You get up from the little slice of heaven and take right spot next to her.
1929. >She leans on you. You wrap your left hand on her. You lightly play with her fur on your fingers. She giggles lightly before taking a piece from her pancakes.
  1930. >She swoons at it.
1931. >You try out yours. It's rather ok. What pancakes usually tastes like
  1932. "It's alright."
1933. "Oh come on, just alright?"
  1934. >She pouts
1935. "Well, it's just what pancakes usually tastes like."
  1936. >She continues to pout
1937. "Oh fine. 'They are the most heavenly pancakes I have ever had the pleasure to grace on my unworthy tongue.' Happy?"
  1938. >She nods
  1939. "I suppose that'll do."
1940. >Cheeky mare. You roll your eyes
  1941. >Her face turns serious
  1942. "...Anon."
  1943. "Yeah?"
1944. "I'm scared...I want to win... even if it is not my name as the designer"
1945. "Isn't the actual competition tomorrow?"
1946. "That still doesn't change the way I feel about this."
1947. >You put your fork down. You pull her in closer, resting your head on her mane.
  1948. "You'll do fine..."
1949. >She giggles a bit, rubbing her cheek on your arm
  1950. "That's so cliche, Anon."
  1951. "Fine, you'll do horribly."
1952. >She playfully punches you on the rib. It's the equivalent of being hit with a long fuzzy pillow.
1953. >Still, that seems to ease her up.
1954. >You bury your face on her mane and sigh contentedly. She mimics your sigh in return...Yeah, definitely could get used to this.
1955. >You let her go in a while and the two of you continue breakfast chatting about all the other big name fashionistas entering the event. Mostly it's just her talking.
1956. >The two of you finish breakfast.
1957. "Leave the dishes to me, Coco. You need to get ready. Big day ahead of you."
  1958. "Are you sure, Anon?"
  1959. >You gather the plates
1960. "It's only dirty dishes, you know. Nothing major"
1961. "Well, alright. Thank you, Anon. I'm going to take a bath."
1962. "I'd love to see that"
1963. >You tease. She goes beet red
  1964. "V-very funny."
1965. >She says before heading inside the bathroom
1966. >...You were half serious though.
1967. >You head for the kitchen and clean the plates. You leave for your place soon after to take a bath yourself.
1968. >After bath, you head for the dressers
1969. >You rummage around to find something fancy to wear today. Well they're all pretty fancy, but you needed the fanciest of the lot.
  1970. >...
1971. >You found that old shirt. The one you came to Equestria in. Still stained from your blood. You never wear this anymore but you can't bring yourself to throw it away. You think back a bit.
1972. >...You hate a part of yourself for never being able to be something of yourself back at Earth. You never really become much more than a disappointment to your old man.
1973. >You sigh and put the shirt back
1974. >You get dressed and head back to her place.
1975. >She's still inside. There must be an inter-dimensional rule that states females spend more time in the bathroom than males
1976. >You hang back on the couch. That couch that you ever so love... Non sexually...Slightly sexually
1977. >She steps out of the bathroom with a light steam trailing her from behind. She's looking pretty fresh.
1978. "You're looking good. Ready to go?"
1979. >You say motioning at the wheeled coat rack carrying all the dresses she made.
  1980. >She hesitates
1981. "Um... Hold on a bit..."
1982. >She heads inside her room. You just slump down on the couch in response.
1983. >She returns to the living room holding something. She's looking rather sheepish
1984. "Anon...I want you to have this."
1985. >She hands (hoofs?) you a small plush doll of you.
  1986. >...
  1987. "...Coco?"
1988. "I made that during my free time. I was supposed to give that to you yesterday but I got sick."
1989. >...No one ever made you something this well-made and heartfelt
  1990. "...Coco, I can't accept-"
1991. >She cuts you off with a tight warm hug
  1992. >...
1993. >She nuzzles her cheek against your chest
1994. >You fight back choking on your feelings... You're not doing a very good job at it.
1995. >You sigh and return the hug.
  1996. "...Thank you, Coco."
1997. >You say as you stroke her mane gently
  1998. >She breaks away.
1999. "Anon, please take good care of that for me"
2000. >You pat her on the head
2001. "Like you even need to tell me that"
2002. >She smiles at you before going over the clothes, inspecting them over
2003. >You just sit there looking at the little plush
2004. >It has a goofy looking scowl on its face while having red cheeks. Great, apparently she thinks you are a tsundere... B-baka Coco.
2005. >It's pretty well made, hoof stitched and all. It's pretty-
  2006. "Anon?"
2007. >Her voice interrupts your line of thought
2008. "Can you help me with these?"
  2009. "Of course"
2010. >You quickly pocket the Anon plush and head over to the wheeled coat rack.
2011. >She opens the door for you while you push along the rack
2012. >The two of you head for the usual fashion building on stopping for a quick view of the lake over at the park.
2013. >As you enter, Coco heads for the receptionist. She's a friend of Coco as you came to know. She introduced you to her. She's pretty cool, a bit laidback and all.
  2014. "Goodmorning Janine."
  2015. "Coco. Anon."
2016. >She says without even breaking stride in her typewriting
  2017. >You nod in acknowledgement
2018. "Is Ms. Suri here yet?"
2019. "Already on the runway along with the other designers. She's looking pretty annoyed."
  2020. >Isnt she always?
  2021. >Coco falters a bit
2022. "I-I see... Thanks for the heads up, Janine. I'll see you later."
  2023. "You too Coco. Anon."
2024. >She says still not looking up
2025. >The two of you head for the runway to see all the other designers already there with their entries.
2026. >Coco nods to herself before proceeding further
2027. >The two of you reluctantly head for Suri who is now tapping her foot in impatience
2028. "There you two are! Sure took your sweet time getting here!"
2029. >You'd talk back but remind yourself that this could affect Coco and all the hard work she put into this.
2030. >You just wheel the coat rack towards her way
2031. >She goes them over quickly before giving out a rather obvious sigh of disapproval
2032. "I have to enter THESE under the Suri Polomare name? Ugh. Fine better than nothing."
  2033. >Bitch
  2034. >Coco looks visibly hurt.
2035. >Suri takes the coat rack and pushing along the with the other designers.
2036. >She then started chatting with them with a friendly face. Ass.
2037. >You turn over to Coco who's trying her best to hold her emotions down
  2038. >...
2039. "Hey look at the bright side, Coco. Your competition thinks your designs are impressive"
2040. >You motion at Suri's direction. The other designer ponies are talking to her, stealing glances at the clothes. Other's are outright inspecting them a look of wonder on their faces.
2041. >She looks up to take a look. She smiles at the scene. Her eyes sparkle a bit. She looks as if all her hardships at this point was all worth it. And you're inclined to agree until...
2042. "Yes, all completely my work. Wasn't that hard honestly."
2043. >Suri says in a rather loud fashion
2044. >Your eyes twitch. You can almost feel the blood vessels in your head pop one by one.
2045. >You glance at Coco. She's not really as furious as you are. In fact, she looks as if she was expecting this.
2046. >...Why didn't you anticipate this again, exactly?
2047. >You inhale deeply trying to calm yourself. You'd rather not make a scene right here and now.
2048. "Coco, I'm stepping out for a bit."
  2049. >She looks rather surprised
2050. "Anon, you're not staying here?"
  2051. >Sigh
2052. "I'd love to stay but you can't expect me to watch and tolerate little miss Asshole pose off all your hard work as your own."
2053. >She winces at your language.
2054. "Besides the real competition's tomorrow right?"
  2055. "I guess..."
  2056. >She looks downward
2057. "Come on, chin up. Would you feel better if I stayed and went ballistic on her bullshit?"
  2058. >She sighs before giggling
  2059. "I guess not."
2060. "Thought so. I'll be at the usual spot in the park. I'll see you later"
2061. "I'll see you later too, Anon"
2062. >You give her a quick hug before you go out and exit the building
2063. >You're still pretty pissed but fresh air is just what you need right now.
2064. >You look around the street. Aside from fashion week, it seems pretty normal.
  2065. >... Hold on.
2066. >Is that unicorn out in the distance singing or something?
  2067. >...Weirdo
2068. >You steer clear from the broadway mare and her friends and head to the park
2069. >You head for the usual park. To the usual park bench overlooking the lake.
  2070. >You haven't spent a long while here. That's a good sign I guess.
  2071. >...
2072. >Still as beautiful as always.
2073. >Just what you need to calm your nerves.
2074. >You lean back and stare at the sky.
2075. >It's pretty nice. Like this.
2076. >If only everyday was like this. Sure it was stagnant but that's not a bad thing... Right?
  2077. >...
2078. >You close your eyes. Only a few seconds...
  2079.
2080. >You woke up to a shuffling on the seat next to you
2081. >You stir around, opening one lazy eye to check
  2082. "...Coco?"
  2083. >She's looking rather excited.
  2084. "Anon look!"
2085. >She practically presses the bolt of fabric she's carrying
2086. >It was shiny. I mean really shiny. It jolts you awake
  2087. "...Wha-"
  2088. "Look!"
2089. >You do look...What are you looking at? It was a rather strange purple fabric. It seems to shimmer on its own. Like it was magic or something... Is this what LSD looks like when woven into a cloth?
  2090. "Coco what is this?"
2091. "I get to make dresses with this?"
  2092. >...What? I must be missing something.
2093. "Clothes? What happened to the ones you made?"
  2094. >She hesitates a bit
  2095. "Umm... Suri discarded them."
2096. >What the fuck!? Your eyebrows furrow. I have no idea what's happening but I have a feeling I wouldn't like it.
  2097. "She what!?"
2098. >You can't help but raise your voice bit
2099. "B-but she gave me this. Said a friend gave it to her. I get to make dresses for tomorrow using th-"
2100. "And you just agreed to it like that!?"
2101. "But it's a really beautiful fabric, Anon..."
2102. "I don't care how it looks! You just came back from exhaustion from fatigue and now you accept a week's worth of work?! And for one day, no less!"
2103. >She looks hurt but also a bit angry
2104. "I can pull this off if you actually helped me more."
  2105. "I can't even fucking sew!"
  2106. "That's because you don't even try!"
2107. >She practically screams at you. You've never seen her this mad before. You've never even seen her mad at all.
2108. You say you can't but you don't even make an effort to at least learn! You don't even care about your future!"
2109. >She's screaming at you now. Her tears are streaming down.
2110. "You don't even have a dream to work for! That's why you'll always stay like this!"
  2111. >...
2112. >Is this what she really thought of you?
2113. "If you don't change, you'll always be worthless!"
2114. >She's crying through her rage
2115. >She picks up the fabric and runs off.
  2116. >...
2117. >You feel pretty furious too.
  2118. >...
  2119. >Tch.
  2120. >You head back home
2121. >You reach your apartment door. You rest your head on the door, not particularly excited to head inside.
2122. >You look over to the side. Her door's closed.
  2123. >...
2124. >You enter yours and immediately went to your bed. You're sick of this shit.
2125. >You try to sleep but the whirring of the sewing machine and her sobbing can be heard through other side of the wall.
2126. >You try to cover your ears with your blanket but it's not very effective
  2127. >... Fuck this.
2128. >You head outside and walk over to hear door.
2129. >You practically bring it down with your banging.
2130. >After a few minutes, the door opens to reveal a furious looking mare giving you a cold glare of hate. Her eyes are wet and redden.
2131. >...You return the glare back
2132. "...I'm still your assistant, like it or not."
2133. >You say forcing yourself in.
  2134. >She doesn't say anything else.
2135. >You follow her into her room.
2136. >You sit on one corner of the floor, waiting.
  2137. "Scissors."
  2138. >She says in a cold tone.
2139. >You shoot her an evil eye before grabbing it and giving it to her.
2140. >She went back to her fabric.
  2141. >...
  2142. "Hold this."
2143. >You walk over and hold the part she's motioning
2144. >She begins sewing it in place.
  2145. >You say nothing
  2146. >...
2147. >The two of you continue on like this for the whole night.
2148. >She barks orders, you do it.
2149. >Nothing more was said. The place is quiet save for the hum of the sewing machine and the occasional orders.
2150. >You skipped bath and you con't care
2151. >You skipped dinner and you don't care
2152. >You skipped sleep and you don't care
2153. >Every now and then you'd spot a tear drop down her cheek
  2154. >...
2155. >You'd look away everytime that happens
2156. >The night continued on like this.
2157. >Until the sky turned orange
2158. >Until the moon slowly sank in the horizon
  2159. >Until the sun took it's place.
2160. >She continued to work, You continue to be useless.
  2161. >...
  2162. "Done."
2163. >She says softly to herself, catching her breath all the while.
2164. >Without a word, you exit from her room.
  2165. >You leave her apartment.
2166. >The sun is up and you can clearly see the ponies getting ready to start their day.
2167. >The look pretty normal. You envy them a bit.
2168. >You head inside your place and immediately plop down on the bed.
2169. >You breathe deeply but it doesn't quite do the trick.
  2170. >...
2171. >You can hear her on the other side of the wall crying once more.
  2172. >...
  2173. >...Stupid horse...She's going to be late.
2174. >After a few minutes of tossing and turning in bed, you get back up on your feet.
2175. >You missed sleep but you don't feel that tired... You don't feel much to be honest
2176. >You go to the kitchen. You grab some slices of bread and stuff it into your mouth
  2177. >Breakfast of champions
  2178. >You head out
2179. >You look over to her door. It's closed... Must've left already...
2180. >You head to the usual park. With its usual bench. And usual atmosphere. Enjoyed by the usual visitor. Living the usual life. The usual unchanging stagnant life he has
  2181. >...Yep... The usual...
  2182. >Sigh.
  2183. >...
2184. >You slump down on the bench and stare at the sky
2185. "So who do I blame for all of this?"
2186. >You whisper to yourself hoping the sky or the sun knows the answers. Hoping Celestia herself would come down and answer your question. But it's pointless asking a question you already know the answer to.
2187. >You realize you've been carrying something in your pocket all this time
2188. >You pull out the plush doll she made for you
  2189. >...
2190. >I wonder how far I can throw this in the lake?
  2191. >...
2192. >You physically punch yourself thinking that
2193. >You look at it once more.
2194. >It really looks well made. You can tell how much effort she put into this. You inspect every stitch. You feel the fabric she used. It's no cheap object that's for sure.
2195. >You something on the back
  2196. >It's a little ring sticking out.
  2197. >...What?
  2198. >You pull it.
  2199. "I don't need your help"
2200. >The dolls speak out... It was Coco's voice deepened down to imitate your own.
  2201. >...
  2202. >...Heh.
  2203. >You can't help but laugh
  2204. "Heh. Hehe... Hahahahahaha!"
2205. >You're laughing so hard that tears started pouring down
2206. >It dripped at every breath you let out.
2207. >You must look pretty stupid to everyone passing by right now
  2208. >You stop laughing
2209. >...But the tears still continue... Why is that?
2210. >You just sit there on the lonely park bench wiping your tears into a little plush doll of you.
  2211. >...
2212. >After you calmed down, you place the doll on your chest and return to looking at the sky
2213. >You just sat there and looked at the clouds. They're getting darker
2214. >...Great, it's raining... At this point you don't care. You just sat there and let yourself be drenched
2215. >You think about what you had back home. About your family and your situation. It's not very glamorous. Dad and sis probably have written you off as dead. You wonder a bit if they cried for you
2216. >You think about what you have here right now. Aside from a few acquaintances, all you really have is Coco, a crappy apartment and a bloodstained shirt to remind you of Earth. Even your job is tied to Coco.
2217. >You think about what you will have in the future... Try as you might, nothing comes to mind. Nothing to hope for, nothing to strive for.
  2218. >...
2219. >You sat on the park bench until it got dark. Until you saw the stars up in the sky.
2220. >You're cold, wet and hungry, looking at the sky, waiting for a shooting star or some other shit you can make a wish on.
2221. >Nothing really comes by. No surprise.
2222. >You begin walking back to your apartment
  2223. >You reach the apartment
2224. >You look over to her side. It's closed.
2225. >You consider briefly heading straight into your place but that doesn't feel exactly right
2226. >You knock on her door, silently hoping she's not going to answer... You're let down.
2227. >The door creaks open to reveal the same cream colored mare you know and love.
2228. >She looks rather fine, like how she usually is. As opposed to you, cold, wet and shivering.
2229. >She looks at you with gloomy depressed eyes.
2230. >...You look away. At least the furious glare she gave you was manageable
2231. >None of you speak for a few seconds.
2232. >You'd do it but you're not exactly the most eloquent person. You're scrambling for words at this point
  2233. >...You do it anyway.
  2234. "...Still hate me?"
2235. >She glares at you before softening up
  2236. "...I never did."
  2237. >...
  2238. "Anon, I-"
  2239. "Wait. Me first."
  2240. >You cut her off.
2241. >you take a deep breath to be careful to now fuck this up
2242. "You're right... about everything. I don't really know why I'm like this but if I had to guess, I got used to this. You know, dropping out of school, getting fired from my previous jobs, I guess in a way that said a lot to me. About my self-worth in particular."
2243. >You laugh a bit to ease up the tension
2244. "And you can probably guess, that's not really a confidence booster... But that doesn't mean I want to stop working for you. Or being with you. Or something...Sorry, I'm not really good with words..."
2245. >She walks up to you and gently wraps her hooves around you despite being drenched in rainwater
  2246. "Anon."
  2247. "...Yeah?"
  2248. "You're so worthless."
  2249. >Sigh
  2250. "...I know."
2251. >...Stupid horse, pointing out the obvious.
  2252. "Anon."
  2253. "...Yeah?"
  2254. "We're unemployed."
  2255. >...What?
2256. "I quit. And I guess, by extension, you did too."
2257. >...On one head, she finally stood up for herself and that's good. On the other, we're fucking unemployed and that's bad.
  2258. "That's...ugh...great... I guess? Maybe?"
2259. "Remember that fabric I got?"
  2260. "Yeah?"
2261. "It was from someone Suri tricked... And it felt bad having to go along her scheme. She won the Fashion Week but you know what she did?"
  2262. "I'm listening."
2263. "She ran off the stage when she realized she won at the expense of her friends."
  2264. >Woah. Ballsy move.
2265. "She reminded me of you in a way. You're not able to help me at work but you're still here for me when I need it... That matters...A lot more than you realize... She also reminded me how much I'm capable of when I have someone to rely on. Just as she is with her friends."
  2266. >She hugs you tighter.
2267. "So I quit working for Suri. I splashed coffee on her and it was hilarious and... that's not important."
2268. >You laugh at the mental image of Coco one upping Suri. You wish you could've seen it.
2269. "So I talked to that mare. Said to her all about Suri's scheme. She, ummm, she gave me a referral, designing the costumes for the next play."
2270. >She nods to herself before looking at you with a smile
2271. "I know I can do it but I'm going to need the help of certain someone."
  2272. >You sigh to yourself
2273. "Are you sure you want me? You just called me worthless, afterall."
2274. "That doesn't mean I want you to stay that way...Also, that's only when it comes to work"
  2275. >You rub her mane
2276. "I don't know if I can change that easily... old habits and all that."
2277. "I'll be with you every step of the way."
  2278. >You sigh.
  2279. >...
2280. >You nod to yourself copying her.
  2281. >You kneel down
2282. "I want you to speak up. If you feel like I'm slacking of or something, I want you to scold me, hit me, whatever. Bring me back to my goal, alright?"
  2283. "You got it, Anon."
2284. >She says as she plants a kiss on your lips.
  2285. >...
2286. >You got a lot of work ahead of you... But that's alright, I guess.
  2287.
  2288. >5 months pass.
2289. >After that costume design job was finished, her name was passed by the director to another who needed her expertise. And her name was passed along, slowly but surely. Sure that first costume design took a while because you're still pretty crappy when it comes to fashion... but you studied her, her work. She helped you with some books she recommends herself.
2290. >It's been a long time since you last studied in a textbook fashion and frankly, you're a little rusty at it. Still, it's pretty nice having to put down a book after a hard days worth of studying only to find some afternoon snacks made by someone who loves you... Pretty cliche but it is what it is.
2291. >At least the next few jobs she received involved much more than just bringing her tools and holding up parts. There's still no way in hell you can pull of a Lazy Daisy stitch but it was a lot more than just being the grunt man.
2292. >She's made quite a name for herself. No Tommy Hilfiger but you're recognized somewhat. I mean you're far from bankruptcy and that's always good.
2293. >The princess never found out a way to return you home. Not that it matters anyway.
2294. >And you realized your special talent. It was cooking. Not that shocking but still, you know you're way around the kitchen pretty well. Not that you're going to quit a become a professional chef, you're content with just cooking for the two of you.
2295. >And here you are, making your first dress in her office while she worked on a costume. No help from Coco. No looking over references. Just you and your knowledge.
2296. >You'd make yourself a shirt but most of your knowledge pool involved making dresses so why not make the most out of it, right?
2297. >You can practically see it finished. And yea, it's pretty exciting having to finish something you made entirely yourself. Even if it is pretty terrible from a professional's viewpoint.
  2298. >And...3...2...1
  2299. "Finished!"
2300. >You hold up your dress to Coco.
2301. "What do you think? What do you think?"
2302. >She inspects it a bit before giving a little giggle
  2303. "Anon, that's pretty terrible."
  2304. >You feel dejected.
2305. "Way to shoot down your boyfriend like that."
2306. >She trots up to you with an apologetic look on her face to give you a hug.
2307. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I just said what I thought about it in all honesty as a designer."
  2308. >Sigh.
  2309. "I know."
2310. "At least we've proven that you're bad at this rather than you simply speculating."
2311. "...Is that supposed to make me feel better?"
2312. >She kisses you on the cheek
2313. "No, but it does to me."
  2314. >Sigh.
  2315. >...Stupid girlfriend...marefriend, whatever.
  2316. >She nuzzles your cheek.
2317. "Really, Anon, you don't know how happy I am right now..."
  2318. >She hugs you tighter.
2319. "You can bring Photo Finish, Hoity Toity and Sapphire Shores in this very room right now to place an order and it still wouldn't compare to how I feel right now."
  2320. >...
  2321. >You return the hug.
2322. "...I don't really know how to respond to that..."
2323. "You could tell me you love me."
2324. "Well... I love you, Coco."
  2325. >She turns red.
2326. "I love you too, Anon"
2327. >She says before pressing her lips onto yours.
2328. >It was soft and quivering, just like how you know it.
  2329. >...
2330. >Yep. Could definitely get used to this...
  2331.
  2332. The End
  2333.
2334. >You push open the door to the hotel room. You make an extra effort to be careful considering you have your special somepony in your arms right now. You make your way to the bedroom
2335. >You gently place her on the bed. She giggles all the while
2336. >You take the side next to her. You pull her in closer to you.
2337. >You kiss her on her adorable little blushing cheeks before looking over to her dress.
2338. "...You know I still can't believe you wore that thing. And to our wedding no less."
2339. "Why wouldn't I? It is your the first dress you ever made."
2340. "Exactly, that's why it's quality is questionable enough as it is. I know that clear as day know. It already clashes enough with itself, more so with you and your collar."
2341. >She strokes her collar, a bit hurt by your statement.
  2342. >You sigh
2343. "No, I'm not mocking your collar, I'm mocking that ridiculous looking dress."
2344. >She presses herself to you
2345. "Anon, it's alright...Besides, you're the only one who thinks so. Everypony else knows the story behind this dress. Mother, Father, Janine, even Rarity thinks it's a rather sweet and charming gesture, more than enough to make up for the way it looks. And that's coming from Rarity, you know how finicky Rarity is with looks, right?"
  2346. >Sigh.
2347. "Still, I wanted you to look your very best. This is a very special day, you know."
2348. >She gives you a quick kiss on the lips
2349. "Anon, even if Celestia herself made me a dress, I still would choose this any day."
  2350. >You roll your eyes.
2351. >You gently stroke her mane, sifting your fingers in between her the soft silky strands.
2352. "Something on your mind, Anon?"
  2353. "...How'd you know?"
2354. "I've known you well enough to know how much you love feeling my mane when you're deep in thought."
2355. "...Well it is pretty calming to do so."
2356. >You say as you kiss her on the forehead
  2357. >She giggles
2358. "You always have free access to my mane, Anon... So what's bothering you, Anon?"
2359. "...Just thinking about dad and sis..."
2360. >She loses her smile. She snuggles against your chest. You stroke her mane once more
2361. "Despite how they feel about me, I kinda still want them to be here. They're still family after all. And I kinda want them to see that I'm not as worthless as they think I always will be, working for a big shot sexy beautiful caring fashion designer and all that."
2362. >You say to ease her up. It doesn't really work
2363. >You wonder what mom would feel if ever she got to know you. At least she can see you from where she is, right?
  2364. "...mfm...mm"
2365. >She says meekly, her words muffled on your tuxedo
  2366. "I didn't catch that."
  2367. "I'm sorry, Anon..."
2368. >You play with her ears, tugging them lightly like soft little toys on her head.
2369. "You don't have anything to be sorry for Coco."
  2370. "I know that it's just..."
2371. >She sighs before nodding to herself and wearing that determined look. That determined look that makes her look more adorable rather than imposing.
2372. "You always have me, Anon. Me, my family and friends, we'll always be here for you. We're your family too."
  2373. >You fold her ears
2374. "You don't have to tell me that, Coco."
  2375. >She giggles.
2376. >She takes a deep breath before nodding to herself
2377. >She reaches up to kiss you before whispering in your ear.
2378. "You know... I know what it takes to make you feel better... but your clothes are in the way..."
2379. >You roll your eyes before smirking back.
2380. >You slowly strip off your tuxedo, your pants, your undershirt, your boxers, everything...
2381. >She looks away, deep red in the face.
  2382. "...You're that aroused already?"
2383. >You stroke the fur on her ears. She has a soft spot on her ears as you came to know.
2384. "Umm... th-there's something...e-e-exciting... about you taking off your clothes when you're always wearing them. It seems... hotter..."
2385. >You kiss her on the cheek with a whisper.
2386. "...Aren't you going to join me?"
2387. >She giggles before she slowly starts removing all her clothing.
  2388. "Hold on."
  2389. "A-Anon?"
  2390. "...Keep the collar on."
