Showcase Race FAQ

Q : What is the Showcase Race?
A: The Showcase Race is a Twice a Month race where some of the top runners from different games are restreamed on one race “channel” at twitch.tv/iateyourpie. This race is then casted by Iateyourpie and SpikeVegeta along with a guest commentator who is an expert in that week’s game. The racers are competing for a prize pool that is decided by the viewers.

Q: What is the Point of the Showcase Race?
A: The Goal is to showcase runners, games, and communities and provide entertainment to viewers. Many times when you watch a stream you get the perspective from the runner, and often there is not enough time to break the run down. With the Showcase Race, our aim is to provide a different perspective through the commentators eye.
Q: Who can race in the Showcase Race?
A: Anyone can enter the race and is eligible and win prizes, but only four runners will be shown on the main stream. To enter, go to speedrunslive.com and join through the racebot.

Q: How are the prizes Divided?
A: 10% of the Prize Pool will go to the guest commentator, and the rest of the prize pool will be split 4 ways. 60/25/10/5 amongst the top four after paypal takes out their portion.

Q: How Do I get a game into the Showcase Race?

It’s important that you actually have at least 3 other racers who are interested. Once it’s been submitted contact Pie on IRC. Please do not contact him until you’ve submitted the form.

Q: How do I donate?
A: Click on the Donate Button on Pie’s Channel. Q: Do Pie or SpikeVegeta Get any of the money?
No, All of your funds go directly to the prize pool.

Q: Can I do the race with an emulator?
A: All use of emulators MUST be streamed when racing. This is a requirement and there are no general exceptions. Certain emulators may be banned.

Q: Do I have to stream me racing?
A: Yes, If you are entering the Showcase Race, you have to provide proof by streaming. If you finish the race, and did not stream you will not be eligible for a prize.

Q: For Showcase Race how does the audio work?
A: One Runner is picked for Game Audio.

Q: When’s the Next Showcase Race?
A: Our next race will be September 28th featuring Diddy Kong Racing. Typically, the Second and 4th Saturday of the Month are when the Showcase Races Occur at 2 PM EST.  We’ll have a website up soon with a schedule.
