- Eric was idly reviewing <<Blarnstoff's Menacing Maledictions>> when the message came.
- A small light flickered in front of him. There was a small -- size was hard to tell -- exotic (probably elvish? it was hard to say) figure dressed in what looked to be some very expensive robes. The figure clasped it's hand together and began to speak.
- "Eric Flumpternose, you are our last hope. I beseech you, on behalf of the people of Maresian Cign, to return to us in our hour of need!
- Stolen from your rightful place as an infant, you are the true heir and rightful ruler of our lands. Our court mages and divinators have worked tirelessly to locate you, and at long last we have succeeded.
- Our kingdom is protected by a mighty enchantment that empowers the true ruler to protect our lands. We have grown rich and prosperous; when our ruler grasps the Staff of Rewop no army can stand against him.
- Unfortunately, our joy at having found you is tempered by the ill tidings we must also share. In your absence, our enemies have grown bolder, and begun to amass along our borders. Even now they seek to conquer our land, oppress its people, and plunder our wealth. You must return to us as the leader we need, and take up your role as protector of our realm!
- All we need you to do before we can recall you home is send us a sample of your mana to allow our tracking spell to latch on to your aura. Please respond with all due haste."
- Eric dismissed the image and snorted to himself.
- More scammers. First it's some mana to 'identify your aura', then some more to 'stabilize the gateway', and before you know it you've exhausted half of a mana well before they 'succumb to enemy invasion' and cut off contact. No thank you.
- Sighing, Eric decided it was time to stop fooling around and go get lunch.
