  1. “Guys, I’m worried about Jeremy.”
  2.
  3. The other animatronics turned to Toy Chica. She was staring off into space, wringing her beak in thought. The group of robots were standing around in the Game Area next to the carousel, which Balloon Boy and JJ were riding.
  4.
  5. “What do you mean?” asked Toy Freddy, having to speak loudly to be heard over the giggling.
  6.
  7. Toy Chica popped her beak back on. “I mean, I think something’s wrong with him. When I stopped by earlier he seemed really out of it.”
  8.
  9. “Yeah,” said Toy Bonnie, “I noticed that, too. When I did my whole sliding routine he barely managed to even get his mask on.”
  10.
  11. Toy Freddy rubbed at his chin in thought. “Well, that’s not good. Let’s go check on him and see if we can figure out what’s wrong.”
  12.
  13. The three Toy animatronics snuck as quietly as they could into the hall, with Mangle slinking around on the ceiling. Ducking into Party Room 2, they peered around the doorway into the office. Jeremy was sitting at his desk looking absolutely miserable. Even from where they were, the robots could see his tired eyes, pronounced slouch, and red nose. Jeremy blew his nose into a tissue while they watched, looking on as it joined the many others in the trashcan next to him.
  14.
  15. The foursome pulled back into the party room and held an impromptu meeting. Toy Bonnie started them off.
  16.
  17. “Okay, everybody. Does anybody have any ideas on what could be wrong with Jeremy?”
  18.
  19. The other three shuffled around, thinking, before Toy Chica raised her hand. Toy Bonnie acknowledged her with a nod. “Umm, maybe his batteries need to be recharged?” Nobody noticed Mangle facepalm.
  20.
  21. “A possibility,” said Toy Bonnie. “To be honest, I was thinking that myself. Freddy?”
  22.
  23. Toy Freddy took off his top hat and scratched his head. “Maybe… Maybe he has a leak of some kind? He was blowing some kind of liquid into those tissues, after all.”
  24.
  25. Toy Bonnie and Toy Chica looked contemplative at that. The rabbit spoke up. “You’re right, Fred. That seems likely, now that you’ve pointed it out.”
  26.
  27. Mangle and her second head looked at each other in disbelief. The endoskeleton head coughed, gaining the attention of the other performers. Once she saw that she had their attention, Mangle opened her mouth to speak. A loud burst of static issued forth from her speakers. Around the corner, Jeremy jumped and fell out of his seat cursing.
  28.
  29. Toy Bonnie took a moment to bounce the idea around in his head before responding. “You know what, Mangle? I think you’re right. Jeremy must have a cold.”
  30.
  31. “Err, how do we fix a cold?” asked Toy Chica.
  32.
  33.
  34.
  35. Jeremy woke up with a start. At some point during the night he had nodded off. Frantically, he shone his flashlight down the hall. Nothing. He checked the cameras. The animatronics were all on stage. The music box was flashing, so he wound it up. Lucky for him he hadn’t been asleep long enough for the Puppet to come out.
  36.
  37. It was only then that he noticed the blanket wrapped around his shoulders. Mystified, he looked around trying to figure out where it came from. That was when he spotted the bowl of soup, still steaming. A piece of paper was lying under it. Jeremy picked up the bowl and warmed his hands for a moment before grabbing the paper and unfolding it. It was a crude crayon drawing, of what looked like himself in a field of flowers with the Toy animatronics. The words “GET WELL SOON” were written at the top.
  38.
  39. Jeremy smiled despite himself and dug into the soup. Warmth spread across his entire body, taking away the aches and soreness that had accumulated while he was sick. He sighed and sunk back into his chair, burrowing deeper into his blanket. This was nice.
  40.
  41. The rapid clanging of metal on tile suddenly began. Jeremy tossed the soup to the side and made a mad grab for his flashlight. Withered Foxy sprinted into the room and jumped over the desk, jaw gaping. A crunch echoed in the empty building. Then, silence.
