  1. Had a dream the other night. Someone was fed up with the amount of building destruction going on, so they designed a block-rifle and mailed it off to the AoS development team. Just aim in whatever direction you want, click your mouse, and a wall appeared from where you were standing to the other end of the map. Of course, pretty soon everyone was using the gun to make super fortresses, trap people in blocks, and of course turn the entire map into one giant Nyan cat, so something had to be done. The person who designed the block-rifle decided to create the "P150 X24 Laser Scoped SMG Rifle Gun". It was simple. Just aim the gun at a block, and shoot it. Anything within a 25 block radius is instantly destroyed (a destruction-cam conveniently depicts this action, allowing you to gloat over your defeated block enemies). Of course, soon this became too powerful, so the dev's added the "SUPER MEDIC" class. It was simple. Left click, and every player on your team is healed. Of course, soon this became too powerful, so the dev's added the "WIN THE GAME" Button. It was simple. Click the button, win the game. This kept anyone from abusing the game mechanics to play unfairly. The player base grew exponentially, as people far and wide heard of this wonderful game. And you know what? Even in a game with one button, the community still declined.

  3. The point here is that none of these mechanics are needed right now. The complaints are always about the same thing; Griefers, noobs, and bugs. You can't add on to the game's standard features just for the sake of adding on; this isn't an MMORPG, it's an FPS, and it's fine the way it is. If you add the Machine Gun, or the Mortar, you necessitate more block placement. If you do that, pretty soon you need to add more powerful firepower so that game's don't end in stalemate more often than they do now.

  5. If you're trying to make the game more accessible, I'd like to ask; why? It's not as if it's a for-profit venture. It's not as if there aren't enough of us already. Go on the server list right now and tell me you can't find at least one decently full server.
