- The story begins with the merc corp (haven't really settled on a name yet) being contracted out by Kuritan forces to provide harassment and scouting services (merc corp is broadly a vehicle based one with few mech lances. mostly lights) for an invasion front against FedCom forces (not really sure what time to set this at, war of 3039? Or pre-clan invasion 3050? But all the lore I've seen says it was pretty much peaceful with no conflict at the time...). Hitching a ride with the invasion fleet. The 4 dropships of the merc corp move with a small fleet of armed dropships and other merc corp dropships to prepare for planetary landing, the troops on ground have already established a front, but unfortunately after being detected through their Jolly Rogers K-F shockwave, they are ambushed by the sudden appearance of enemy reinforcements attempting to impede the Drac fleet from unloading more forces on-world.
- Their dropships move to land on the friendly front, but unfortunately the dropship the characters are on is shot down, and crashes somewhere behind enemy lines. Fortunately a piece of debris from the battle up above crashed before them, knocking out power in the city below, meaning the miraculous survivors of the dropship crash managed to crash land mostly undetected (except for visual obviously) in the mountains off the city. With no comms and a high probability of no rescue, and in the middle of enemy territory; things have gone to shit.
- Since you can't really stealthily move around a lot of vehicles or people, they make the decision to hide out in the mountains, away from the wreckage, and try to hold out, gambling on their light mech detachment, COM2D, LCT3M, LCT3M (might change it for variety) and RVN3L (also note the Union they were on carried 2 other mechs, one was damaged in the crash and rendered inoperable, another was a rare and prized Spector, which is the main characters titular mech, but it's left behind with another pilot for it's ECM capabilities as well as to provide protection just in case), to attempt to make their way back to friendly lines, and bring back rescue for the surviving crew they left behind.
- The story progresses linearly as they advance through enemy lines and uses (heavily modified) MWO maps as settings (Crimson Straights and in the finale, River City), with the story intro ramping up into a hit-and-run sabotage assault on the train gates leading further into the city (see: http://i.imgur.com/YTqOuWw.jpg), with a lot of tension on the line, as they have to get in and get out through the gate before attracting too much enemy attention, being in very lightly armored mechs dependant heavily on ammunition. The middle of the story involves them reaching the friendly front and reconnecting with their main force (the rest of their merc corp who landed safely) and requesting permission from their Kuritan contractors to momentarily abandon their duties to mount a rescue op behind enemy lines. Although at first they are denied, the Kuritan coordinator decides, that a small force shall be allowed to perform a rescue operation, but only IF, they raid a large mech hangar located on a heavily guarded base in that area. Realizing this is borderline suicide in light mechs, at first they consider refusing, but go through with it, barely managing to escape with their lives after fighting through (note: they don't actually kill anyone during this obviously) an assault/heavy defense force. the COM2D is destroyed in this arc. The finale culminates with the opposing FedCom forces, worried that their rear front has been compromised due to the raid on their rear guard base giving them the impression of a much larger force behind them, launching an all out combined arms assault on the Kuritan front (River City basically), leading to a massive all out battle. The main character, having finally retrieved her Spector, moves out into combat at full capacity.
- Additional notes:
- - In my version River City is extended (obviously) and instead of an ocean front, River City is a unique mountain city built on farming steppes (see: http://i.imgur.com/MYjoTdi.jpg, http://i.imgur.com/XSyUI5H.jpg)
- - Succeeding in their suicide mission, the Kuritan coordinator is so overjoyed that they managed to strike such a heavy blow to the FedCom rear that he offers them a bonus; a small (and I mean small) cut of the salvage acquired by Kuritan forces in the conflict, now, obviously the salvaged mechs are inoperable for now but maybe in a later story...
