  1. This is the game I had given to me by The Video Game Name Generator.

  8. Helicopter Dodgeball Deathmatch is a rather weird indie game I came across recently. The title got me interested in trying it, and now I have written down my thoughts on this mess.
  9.
  10. Story
  11. What story? Not even some pointless excuse for what is happening here.
  12.
  13. Presentation
  14. Graphics in the game are very basic, with some unchanging helicopter photos and stick figures within them. Even the background is a static image of the sky. The only animation is MSPaint rotor blades. Very little effort was put into this.
  15.
  16. Sound is no better, with a complete lack of any music, just constant noise for the rotors, along with the sounds for the thrown balls and people getting hit, both of which are difficult to hear over the background noise. The only time that stops is when one side goes down, there is no in game option to mute it.

  18. Controls
  19. Rather basic. Move your copter with WASD or the arrow, and aim and attack using the mouse and left click. You can also quit at any time by pushing the ESC key. At least they didn't mess up here.

  21. Gameplay
  22. Two helicopters enter, only one leaves. Each are loaded with four passengers and a pilot, along with eight balls at a time. You will fly around a single screen, using the mouse to throw balls at the opposing helicopter. If you hit, they less a crew member, and repeating this until all four are gone will result in them crashing into the ground and a win screen worthy of Big Rigs. Running out of balls forces you to resupply at one of three locations on the ground. AI is rather basic, predicting where you will be if you continue to move in a single direction at the time of their throws.

  24. Replay
  25. The ability to play multiplayer in this title would make things better, but since the mouse is a requirement and there are no other control methods compatible with the game or any sort of online, this has only single player as an option. Not even any alternate difficulty settings to give yourself some extra challenge. So, as far as replay value goes, you can suffer through the game repeatedly or you can never play it again. I recommend the second choice.

  27. Overall
  28. This game was just sad, having nothing going for it other than the title. I would suggest you avoid this game, your life will be the better for it.
