- I previously started sorting out a holiday with Thomas Cook by going into their Nottingham branch. Now I wanted to call to discuss it:
- 1. The number I found on Google for the Nottingham branch, 0844 335 7542, which I've resisted calling in the past because 0844 is expensive, doesn't actually seem to exist - I got an error tone.
- 2. So I tried to find the store on their website (http://travelagents.thomascook.com/nottingham-long-row), which doesn't have a phone number.
- 3. Then I called the general number that is on their site, 01733 224 800, and I after answering about 5 questions in the automated system I got put through to some "Meadow Hotels" or something, who said the switch-boards had been messed up.
- 4. He then put me through again back to Thomas Cook, I answered some more automated questions and ended up with the Cruise line, where the woman told me she wasn't able to help me, and she wasn't able to give me a number for anyone who could help me, and that I should just call Directory Enquiries.
- 5. I looked up EE's directory enquiries number, and it costs about £1.50 per enquiry, so I'm not doing that.
- 6. I then tried again - called the general number, was put through to Meadow Hotels again, who put me through to the real Thomas Cook line, I answered the questions slightly differently to avoid the cruise line, and then just as I thought I was going to get through to a different department who might help, the other end suddenly hung up.
- 7. I'm now giving up on calling and emailing instead. Thomas Cook seems like an incredibly amateur organisation right now.
- I'm including the above list in my email to them. Hopefully they do something about it.
