  1. >You feel nauseated; like that your stomach is on the verge of rejecting everything you had for breakfast.
  2. >Your head is spinning and refuses to allow you to open your eyes instead you remain still until this feeling goes away; but it doesn’t, it does ease slightly allowing your eyes to flutter open.
  3. >The invading light leaves you momentarily blinded, when focus returns all you can see is a large orange sky, barely a cloud in sight as the sun begins to set.
  4. >You make an attempt to sit up but only confirm that it’s a big mistake as a surge of pain courses throughout your body; the most intense being in your head.
  5. >It’s unbearable causing you to hunch up into a ball then a stern and concerned voice calls out.
  6. >”Try tah stay still.”
  7. >A gentle push, places you back to lying flat. You notice your breathing has become heavy and erratic from the pain so you try calming down.
  8. >The voice sounded friendly enough so you look around to find who it belongs to. You assume you’re in a garden of some kind from the many flowers surrounding and under you. You notice a large red pony sitting next to you looking off to the distance for someone, he sees you looking at him and he gives you a shaky smile.
  9. >”You’ve taken quite tha fall.”
  10. >You open your mouth to speak but anything you try to say comes out as nothing more than a croaky gasp, the pony shakes his head.
  11. >”Just conserve your energy, everypony is on tha way.”
  12. >Everypony?
  13. >You want to ask who that is but you can’t speak instead you’re drawn into a train of thought. ’Who is everypony, where are you and what has happened?’ Your mind races with a new question every second and it’s making the pain more intense.
  14. >”ANON,” you hear several voices shout in unison.
  15. >A group of ponies swarm around you and begin asking you hundreds of questions, you can’t keep up with what they’re saying.
  16. >Luckily, the red pony steps in and quiets them down.
  17. >”Anon, are ya okay? Ah was so worried,” you hear a voice say in a country like accent.
  18. >You turn to the voice to see an orange mare with a blonde mane and a Stetson hat, you can see the panic and concern written all over her face.
  19. >You give a soft nod and it seems to calm her down a little.
  20. >You look around at the others.
  21. >There’s two ponies with horns protruding from their head; one white with a beautifully styled purple mane and the other is purple also with purple mane.
  22. >In the corner of your eye you notice the happy pink pony with a messy mane that seems to be the only one with an actual smile which is weirdly calming.
  23. >Lastly there’s a yellow pony with a pink mane and a blue one with a rainbow mane, both have wings and floating just above the others.
  24. >To you, their faces look as familiar as any other stranger’s. You try to think of their names but nothing comes to mind, even nothing comes to mind when you try recalling your own.
  25. >You’re a little surprised at how many varieties of ponies there are but you’re more surprised by the tall white one now walking over to you with a multicolour mane flowing like it’s in the wind, she also has both wings and a horn.
  26. >”Anonymous, are you alright? I just heard what happened.”
  27. >Her concern for you is clear.
  28. >You give another nod before attempting to sit up again. The pain remains but it’s bearable enough for you to be able to move, at least slowly. You being able to move has put the ponies at ease somewhat.
  29. “What happened?” you ask with a croaky voice and their half smiles are erased from their faces.
  30. >”Y-you don’t remember?”
  31. >The purple unicorn’s face is close to you, closely examining you.
  32. >You shake your head.
  33. >”You fell, from up there.”
  34. >She points with a hoof upwards to the roof a barn. You’re not sure how you haven’t noticed something that large by now but it’s quite high up.
  35. >”We were throwing a party to celebrate the princess’ visit and you were putting up the last of the decorations,” the blue pegasus fills in, “you took a pretty bad fall so I went to get everyone while Big Mac here waited by your side.”
  36. >She nudges the big red pony and he gives a nod.
  37. >Again you try recalling what happened but nothing, your mind as blank as an empty book.
  38. >”A-Anon?” the purple unicorn says, her face is still close to yours which is becoming a little unnerving.
  39. “Anon… Is that my name?”
  40. >You turn to the concern stricken purple pony and at the corner of your eye you see the orange mare now has a look of dread. You feel like you should comfort her but you’re a little focused on trying to remember everything.
  41. >”We need to get you to a hospital,” the tall white pony speaks up before whispering to a white pony in golden armour.
  42. >The group remains silent as two armour clad ponies walk up to you, using their horns as some kind of medium for magic, they lift you up and carry you to the hospital.
  43. >Only the orange mare and white unicorn follow them.
  44. >When you arrive at the hospital you’re immediately met by a doctor who leads you all into a room.
  45. >The armoured ponies immediately leave after placing you in bed and an awkward silence fills the room.
  46. >You’re not sure what’s worse, the pain when you move or the silence.
  47. >The orange mare decides to speak up.
  48. >”S-so Anon…”
  49. >You turn to her and again, try recalling a name. You feel like you should ask her but you can’t help but think that would be rude.
  50. >It seems like you two were close in some way but you’re uneasy on how to ask about that too.
  51. >”D-do you… Remember me?”
  52. >Maybe you won’t need to ask. You shake your head.
  53. “No, I don’t remember, well, anything.”
  54. >She looks a little crushed by your response and the white unicorn takes that as her cue to interject.
  55. >”I suppose you don’t remember me either, I’m Rarity and this here is Applejack.”
  56. >You notice her accent is a little regal and formal unlike Applejack’s. These two have a bizarre sense of familiarity to you but at the same time, they feel like strangers.
  57. >That feeling is keeping you on edge, making you want to leave but then you’ll never get the answers you want and need.
  58. “I’m sorry. It’s like you’re strangers to me.”
  59. >They both look disappointed and it makes you feel a little guilty but you can’t help that.
  60. >Applejack must have picked up on that and puts on a brave face.
  61. >”It’s alright sugar cube. Ah’m gonna go see what’s takin’ that doctor so long.”
  62. >Both you and Rarity watch as Applejack leaves, an awkward silence soon takes her place before Rarity nervously speaks up.
  63. >”Anon, please be careful with what you say around Applejack.”
  64. >You’re taken aback slightly, you weren’t expecting that.
  65. “What do you mean?”
  66. >”I’m afraid it isn’t my place to say.”
  67. >She looks off to the window, clearly wanting to avoid any further questioning on the subject.
  68. >You sigh and rub the back of your head. You were hoping you’d get some insight on Applejack or anything but you decide it might be best to leave it for now.
  69. “Were we friends?”
  70. >”Why yes, of course,” she seems a little offended by the question.
  71. “Close friends?”
  72. >”Anonymous dear, what’s the matter?”
  73. >She’s leaning forward on her chair with a look of worry.
  74. “I just, don’t know what’s going on.”
  75. >”I’m sure this is very difficult for you but you have friends who are willing to help you, myself included.”
  76. >You can’t help but smile, it’s warming to know you’ve got friends who care about you.
  77. “Can you tell me what kind of person I am, or was and please don’t leave out the bad parts.”
  78. >”Very well, you were an uncouth ruffian who constantly dressed to tarnish the good name of all that is fashion.”
  79. >You begin to laugh, it was nice to not have a serious moment and just laugh.
  80. >”Yes but honestly, you were kind hearted person who was always willing to help anypony out.”
  81. “Thanks.”
  82. >You give her a smile that she returns.
  83. >After a few minutes you notice that Applejack hasn’t returned yet, you wonder what happened to her. Rarity must have been thinking the same because she gets up and looks out the door.
  84. >”I’m going the check up on Applejack.”
  85. >You wave as she leaves the room, the room feels very empty without anyone to keep you company. It’s just yourself and your thoughts.
  86. >You’ve got amnesia, that much you know already but you don’t feel like anything is broken. You begin to poke and prod yourself when you feel a sharp, jarring pain as you poke your left forearm.
  87. >You grimace at the pain.
  88. >You’re left waiting for some time until a doctor finally to walks into the room.
  89. >His coat is a yellow-orange colour, a brown mane, glasses and a white coat.
  90. >”Evening, I’m Doctor Stables,” he says while reading from a chart, “I’ve already been briefed on what happened so let’s run a few tests, shall we?”
  91. >You remain silent and just do as the doctor asks.
  92. >By the end of all the tests they confirm what you already knew. Broken left arm and amnesia. The doctor wraps your arm in a cast before leaving you the room, as he leaves Rarity enters the room.
  93. >”That cast looks simply dreadful, they couldn’t spice it up with some rubies or maybe an emerald to match your eyes?”
  94. “An emerald cast? That sounds awful.”
  95. >She gives you a look like you crushed her hopes.
  96. >”Well I never,” she dramatically flicks her head to the side with a ‘humph’ and you can’t help but laugh a little.
  97. >”Now Anonymous dear, I’m here to take you home.”
  98. “Oh, I was wondering about that. Where do I live?”
  99. >”You’re my neighbour.”
  100. “You haven’t covered my house I diamonds, right?”
  101. >”Watch that tongue Anon, that can be arranged.”
  102. >You pretend to zip your lips and follow Rarity to your home.
  103. >When you arrive you notice it looks a lot like the other houses only taller, probably due to you being nearly twice the height of these ponies.
  104. >Rarity leads you inside, the first thing you notice is your house is rather bare.
  105. >The first room you enter is the lounge room, you think; it has an end table, a bookcase with only a few books on it and an empty TV unit. You can’t even see a couch or chair.
  106. “I wasn’t a fan of furniture, I see.”
  107. >There’s a faint echo to your voice, making your house feel even emptier.
  108. >”You only recently had it built so it’s only natural.”
  109. >You nod as Rarity goes through and gives you a tour, each room is just as bare as the next.
  110. >”You could put a lamp or a plant somewhere; you need to really spruce up the place a bit.”
  111. “I’ll keep that in mind.”
  112. >That was Rarity’s attempt at a joke, probably to uplift the mood a little but you just didn’t feel right, this house was depressing.
  113. >”Alright Anon, I best be off. I’m just next door if you need anything.”
  114. “Thanks, I mean it.”
  115. >”Tomorrow, would you mind coming over to my shop? I promised to design you some new clothes before, well, you know.”
  116. “Sure.”
  117. >Happy with your response, she turns to leave before stopping in the doorway.
  118. >She turns and faces you with a fidgety stance. It almost looks like she needs the bathroom.
  119. “You alright?” you ask.
  120. >”I’m sorry but I don’t feel comfortable leaving you alone, given your condition. Did you want to stay at mine for the night; I have a spare room you can use?”
  121. >A feeling of relief washes over you, you’re glad you won’t be left alone here in this barren home.
  122. >After agreeing, you head over to Rarity’s. It’s not a long walk as you live next door.
  123. >Her home is a large carousel, with a somewhat extravagant design. Pink, purple and blue are the main colours making the whole place rather girlish. In a way, it matches the side of Rarity you’ve seen so far.
  124. >”Now this also happens to be where I work so please, excuse the mess.”
  125. >As she opens the door you see everything is sparkling clean, you can even see your reflection in the floor.
  126. >All the curtains are neatly tied up, fabrics ordered on cupboards and the clothes on the horse mannequins are neat without a single crease.
  127. >If this was a mess by her standards you’d hate to see her reaction to everyone else’s standards of a mess.
  128. >”It’s getting late Anon and a lady needs her beauty sleep,” Rarity says with a chirpy tone as she magics over to you a pillow and blanket, ”Here you go, the couch is over there. Sing out if you need any help at all.”
  129. “Thanks again.”
  130. >You make yourself comfortable as Rarity heads upstairs to her room.
  131. >As you lie down, you can feel the pain in your head returning so you cradle your head in one hand.
  132. >Your last thought as you drift to sleep is you hope you get your memory back soon, this feeling of being lost is something you’d rather be rid of as soon as possible.
