03-29-2012 UPDATE - We are very hard at work on the new revision. We are going very deep into history, case law and the legal ramifications of such because we want version two to be monumental. Please be patient.

12-22-2011 UPDATE - We are still hard at work on the new Revised Edition. Things are going well as we work hard to raise this document to a new level.

12-14-2011 UPDATE - We are hard at work on a new revision and we are truly getting somewhere. We think that many of you will be shocked at how we are successfully weaving many of the public ideas and commentary into the narrative. We also have a few more ideas that will help simplify the structure and aid in helping with delivery. We'll explain more later, but for now, we need to focus on the revision itself. Hang in there, because we are working hard to take this to a whole new level.

12-04-2011 UPDATE 2 - We are carefully watching discussions across the web on this and will be making some new comments and replies soon. Thank you. Also, we have started preliminary assessments on a new revision of the main document. We now believe that (and our thanks for the constructive feedback we've seen so far) that some improvements can be made. We have no ETA on this second release because we are still gathering public opinion, concerns and suggestions from all over the internet. We plan to try to address as many of them as is humanly possible. Once the new revision is done, it will simply replace the current one and the pastebin URL will not change. In that way, those who have linked to it (and we thank you for that) will not end up with broken links and will automatically receive the update. The New Common Sense is a true Living Document in every sense of the word. We hope to further prove this in the new revision.

WE WOULD LIKE TO MAKE ONE IMPORTANT DISTINCTION: This document does not belong to Occupy Wall Street, The Tea Party, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, any political group or ideology, etc. -- nor did it come from any of them in particular. It is a true collaborative effort from the group conscience of all of those and many more, all combined. It's goal is to be 100% nonpartisan by its very design. It is above and outside of politics entirely. It merely attempts to state simple truths. It does not, and cannot, however, speak for those who believe that the core foundations of our Republic are flawed, nor does it speak for those who wish to change the government from a Constitutional Republic to some other, new form of government. This document is a truly patriotic attempt to start the difficult but necessary process of leading us back to our root foundations that we believe are rock solid and fully workable -- if only they were to be respected again, and modernized for the times.

This document is from the collective Mind of The People, the "100%", but minus those who do not wish to be a constructive member of society. It represents everyone of constructive desire regardless of their individual or group affiliations, beliefs, political affiliations/beliefs, et al. Even partisan enemies can all endorse this document, even though they may disagree on certain issues. We make no attempt and take no sides on individual issues as we believe that these are for the People to decide -- once they regain their voice that has been taken from many of them.

We ask that this document be "officially" adopted or co-opted by no one. However, all are welcome to make the individual or collective decision to support and endorse this document and its ideas. Thus, we ask that all limit their support to the level of endorsement only so that the document may forever remain free to speak for whoever wishes for it to do so. We wish for it to rise above all politics and present it to and for the whole of The People. Our only desire and goal is to help unify this nation again. We also wish to see justice to those who would seek to divide us in any way or attemot to harm us. IN addition, we wish to ensure protection against injustices for us all. This is supposed to be the true role of government. We believe that this has been perverted. This is but a call for true unity, nothing more.

HOW TO GAIN INPUT:

NOTE that replies to posts on sites such as this will be responded to here on pastebin for now so that you know that it came from us. NO OTHER replies are from us and should not be believed. Merely watch "voiceofreason" here on pastebin to see them if and when they are posted.

For the protection of the document and to maintain the purity of its message we again must ask that it not be "forked". We assure you that we are listening closely to the "group conscience." There is just no need for a "forking" of it. We believe strongly that to allow that would be too dangerous. Please trust us and show us the same respect we are showing you, for we're on the same team here. To give anyone the right to edit this right now (anyone that isn't the copyright holder) would also be giving the 1% the same right. How can we give the "99%" the right to edit it without giving the "1%" the same right? We see no way to do that, hence our decision to handle it this way. Your voice is not silenced nor are you excluded. We have been listening and we still are listening. We just cannot risk corruption of this document right now, it may destroy an amazing opportunity to achieve a new level of unity. Their media machines are just too powerful to risk that. Please understand that we know of no safe alternative in this climate. Give us one and we'd certainly consider it. We even sought legal advice and were told that this is the only sure way under current law to protect this.

If you still do not understand why it must be this way right now, we are confident that one day you will. The copyright the authors must retain is not just to protect the message, it's to protect all of us by using the copyright laws and protections against those who would seek to corrupt it. It's also to protect the authors. They have a right to privacy and do not wish to place their own families in jeopardy, which is exactly what could happen as this document spreads further. Please try to understand this.

We, again, must state that we make no apologies for its length. It has to be what it is in order to close all potential loopholes. Section I and Section II are meant to be ultimately disconnected from each other, with Section II designed to aid in the document's delivery and distribution. If you consider only Section I, you'll see that the document, for all that it covers, is actually quite concise.

Please do not judge it based solely on its length. Instead, please judge it based on its content.

A new revision, if it is ever needed, will be released here on pastebin for distribution. But for now, it's absolutely critical that the document be widely distributed and forced into the public discussion as soon as possible.

Again, the authors are most interested in constructive commentary and feedback and will deeply consider all ideas.

In summary, if another revision is needed, we will deliver one in due time. However, a lifetime of listening to the public conscience has led to this already. We feel quite confident in it as it is now.

For now, though, please distribute the version at http://pastebin.com/gm2UV08D as well as the full release zip (links are given below) so that we may gain feedback and learn if a revision is even necessary. In the meantime, we urge all in the 99% to lend their support to the document. We urge all Occupy groups to consider its adoption and to discuss it. We also urge those who may be able to build upon this document with ones of their own to do so but to please show respect and do not modify this one.

The 1% isn't going to just wake up and decide to play fair. We need to back them into a corner, peacefully and with one voice, before they will budge. We believe that this document is an important step towards doing that and worked very hard on it with that in mind. We hope that you agree and force the 1% to acknowledge it and force a new conversation. That part is entirely up to you.

This document needs to be distributed only in ways that do not require any distribution contracts or terms of agreement. Trying to distribute it through corporaste channels would attach a "name" to it and could seriously compromise the intent of this work. Thank you, however! If this changes, we will be in touch. (Reply to Beta: LGBT is included by proxy and we will explain why we didn't specifically put LGBT in there. It's because doing so would harm you and would be divisive. The New Common Sense is inclusive. Whenever the LGBT community declares themselves as a separate community the way that they do, they may not realize it but they are separating themselves from the rest of society which, ironically, is what they are complaining about. They only make things worse when they do that, in our opinion. We include LGBT people by proxy and they are already represented fully in this document because they too come from all walks of life and fall under one or more of the banners we have displayed, do they not? Once the LGBT realizes that what they do in the bedroom or how they choose to live and express themselves is far less important than the fact that they are no different from anyone else regardless of their sexual orientation or state of transgender, the better it will be for everyone. True acceptance will be born one you make yourselves a non-issue and realize that you are The People, too. Thus, we left LGBT out to help you. If we put it in then we'd be declaring you separate from the People and you are most certainly not! We hope that you will realize this. Thank you. We strongly believe in you. (Reply to oPHILOSORAPTORo: The language is actually correct in regards to the statement we are making. Please notice the use of the word unalienable (not inalianable). There is a big difference between the two. Please see: http://www.unalienable.com/unalien.htm for more information. If we were speaking of inalienable rights in that case, yes, you would be correct, the Constitution does not (and cannot) grant anything that is already inalienable. However, it does, in fact, enumerate and grant (meaning, officially restate) a list of unalienable rights (that happen to also be inalienable) that we share. There are other inalienable rights that we have, also, that are not even listed in the Constitution (the right to breathe, for example), as well. Thank you for bringing this up because it does give us this chance to better explain the language that we carefully used in that paragraph. )
