I'm not sorry at all

"Noble, Sacred, and Beautiful."

These were the words from the bright colorful pages that had stuck in Camilla's head. Snooping around Kamui's room had yielded little in the way of hidden effects, but had instead revealed to her his love for girls in frilly dresses slinging magic and attacking enormous monsters. Turning these ideas over in her head, a brilliant plan fell into her head fully formed.

"Zero, I have a somewhat strange request for you today. In that last battle, did I not see you dragging off one of those Hoshidan spellcasters for your own nefarious ends?"

With a smirk, Zero replied "Of course, Lady Camilla. I have certain urges that plague all men, and war is as good a means as any to satisfy them. If you don't mind seconds, I'm more than willing to share".

"Not today, I've other plans with this one".

Walking through the rows of cells, the prisoners did as prisoners are wont to do, some begging for Zero's attention, and others shrieking and retreating into a corner of their cell. Reaching their goal, Zero barked to the prisoner "You have a visitor".

"To what do I owe the pleasure of a visit from a princess? Come to inflict the perverse pleasures of Nohrian royalty on an innocent soldier of a warring country?" asked the soldier with a wry grin. "At least this time will be with the delicate touch of a fellow woman, although some of that man's behavior makes me wonder".

"Actually, I have a request of a sort. I've hatched something of a scheme, and I need some small amount of training to pull it off".

"And what training could a foreign soldier in captivity possibly give to a royal who presumably has their entire country's libraries to research?"

"If you're not interested in fresh air and unfiltered sunlight, then I guess I can find another prisoner who can hel-"

"I'll do my best, but you have to promise me that I won't have to be in /his/ care anymore". She shuddered as she referred to Zero, casting a haunted look towards the waiting jailer.

"As long as you behave yourself and don't try anything stupid, I believe we can come to an arrangement. Now, I need you to teach me how Hoshidan spellcasters cast with those things you float. A tome is clearly superior magically, but aesthetically, it's somewhat lacking".

"Explain this to me again, Lady Camilla?" asked Luna, grimacing as she emptied the barrel of offal into the trap.

"Kamui seems to like girls beating up monsters. By doing this, I hope to make an advance on him. Haven't I explained this to you several times by now?" Camilla responded, as she looked around from high up in the tree.

"Yes, but you still haven't told me why you need my help, of all people."

Camilla leaped down from her perch and strode over to her subordinate. "Because, Luna, you said yes when I asked. Now, let's hide and wait for the faceless to take our bait."

The logistics of transporting a 15 foot tall, very angry monster into a cage, and then into a populated castle, both without being seen and without personal injury are best left to the imagination. Needless to say, nothing was going to happen that day. As the night fell, Camilla set to work sewing. Frills and swishy dresses were not her usual fare, but, as a princess, she had long since learned to sew nearly anything with precision and skill. As she sewed, she cast her mind back to the story she had read. The girl there had stood resolute as the monster bore down on her, delivering her ultimatum to it.

"Oh my, I should probably come up with a catchphrase of some sort. Everything has to be perfect for..." trailing off, she realized how into the notion of being a hero she had become. "Well, Kamui should enjoy it at least, even if it's not exclusively for his sake any more."

Dawn broke over the castle, and with it, a terrifying roar. Kamui awoke with a start, leaping heroically out of his treehouse, pulling out his sword as he fell.

"Wait!"

Kamui cast about to see who had interrupted his heroism. His eyes fell upon a masked figure in a frilly dress standing atop his treehouse in the morning sun.

"To be Noble! Sacred! And Beautiful! I, the Hero of the Scarlet Flame, have appeared to right what you have set wrong, villainous monster! The quiet peace of a calm morning that you have stolen from us, I'll be taking back! Do prepare yourself!"

With that, she lept from the top of the treehouse towards the faceless.

Kamui watched the tableau before him, dumbfounded. This was exactly like one of his Hoshidian manuscripts. The mysterious masked heroine fighting the monster that appeared from nowhere using foreign magics and protecting the peace, the shady person watching from the shadows, even nature was obliging with a beautiful morning sky.

Standing atop the defeated faceless, a slightly out of breath Camilla was exhilarated. She had never felt so alive as when she was making a complete fool out of herself while disguised. Somewhere nearby, she thought she heard stifled giggling, but put it out of her mind as Kamui approached.

"My lady, you have saved this castle and all who dwell within! However can we repay you?"

"If you truly wish to repay a hero of justice, we shall head back to your quarters to discuss it."

Kamui pinched himself as he lead the hero back to his treehouse. As he sat on the bed, the hero pulled off her mask to reveal his older sister.

"Camilla? You're the magical girl?"

"Yes, my dear Kamui, 'twas I who slayed the foul beast. It was but a simple ploy to get you to see me as more than just your sister".

"Well, it worked, save for one thing" said Kamui as he strode over to Camilla.

"Oh? What did I get wrong?"

"The catchphrase. A true princess is strong," so saying, Kamui swept Camilla up into his arms. "Kind" he spoke as he embraced his adopted sister, who was now, and, truly, always had been, more than just that. Finally Kamui gazed deep into her eyes "And Beautiful." and with that, he kissed her, years of discovered passion overflowing in one simple action.
