mIRC – Joining #Fools.rs on Quakenet with a hidden IP

MIRC USERS: To join #fools.rs on Quakenet while keeping your IP hidden:

1. Enter Quakenet by pasting the following into any server or channel:

/server -m irc.quakenet.org

2. Registering on Qnet. First, make sure you have the nick you wish to use (the /nick command works). Then paste this into the server:

/msg Q HELLO youremail@address youremail@address

Then go to the email you just specified, and retrieve your password. It'll be used in step 5 (see 'YourPassword').

3. Tools > Options > Connect > Options > Perform. Make sure 'Enable perform on connect' is ticked
4. Press 'Add' and browse for Quakenet > OK
5. Add the following to the 'Perform commands' box*:

/auth YourUsername YourPassword
//mode $me +x
/timer 1 3 join #fools.rs

6. OK > OK. Then, disconnect and reconnect to Quakenet using the top-left button in mIRC. Welcome!

* Mode +x hides your IP, and it requires an auth to work.
  The timer makes your client wait 3 seconds before joining
  the channel, making sure that mode +x always kicks in first.
  YourUsername and YourPassword are the ones you registered in step 2.
