Rei's Story Part 2

Part 2


You can't sleep, your heart is racing. You woke up in the middle of the night; the only light the hallow shine of the moon. Panic sets in for a moment for no reason you can think of. Then you see her.


She had declared her love for you, as you did for her just last night. Her name was Rei Ryghts. Her frame was still noticeably slender even through the blankets that you shared. Rei’s hand met yours in the middle, her fingers barely caressed your palm.


Rei’s hair shone with the moonlight, and it smoothed your pulse. She was beautiful.


Your eyes flicker as the waves take you away.

The sun shone in your eyes, it took a while to get your bearing. A quick shiver soon stretched into a constant chill even after you had changed.


The morning air is crisp as you step through the car door, quite a bit stiffer than the previous few mornings.


You feel your hands being pulled out in front of you.


“Good morning… my love.”


Rei is pushing a hot mug of coffee into your hands, but her delicate hands linger over yours for much longer than even she had intended.


“Will you sit with me? I tried cooking you some breakfast…”


Even through a towel, the frozen ground is a bit cold, but Rei is keeping your heart moving like nothing before.


Her eggs could use some pepper, and the bacon is a bit burnt but you don't mind so much. What matters is that Rei is putting all she has into your budding relationship.


“Thanks for the breakfast sweetie”


Rei gets shy, her eyes point down as she responds:


“I hope it was good, I don't usually cook.”


Rei needs a boost to get her day going more than some caffeine.


You put an arm around her and feel her mouth slip into a prideful smile.


“It was wonderful.”


Rei shrinks a bit, she sort of tucks into your shoulder as she thanks you. Her breath is hot on your neck. Her little voice barely whispers her appreciation over your collar.


“We still have to finish clearing the other side of the village.”


Rei doesn’t have her glasses on yet and softly groans, nuzzling your breast.


“Just a s-second longer please…”


The arm that Rei has pinned at the shoulder is unconsciously hovering over the top of her head. Her hair is perfect, despite not having much more than a freezing stream to wash with. You hesitate, it doesn’t feel quite right but… you let your fingers settle into her somewhat thin mane.


Why you continue to question her, or be reluctant is beyond you, holding the small framed woman is paradise. You had some time to think it over and Rei seems like she did have a crush on you from the start.


You stand up, pulling Rei with. She unfolds her glasses out of her suit pocket and dons the coat, pulling your arm from you. Rei holds your arm in a hug as she speaks.


“Do-Don’t even think about giving up, I- I love…”


Rei gulps and turns bright red. If it weren’t for her powers flashing some courage into her, you doubt she could continue speaking.


“I love you. I w-want to have another night like last n-night.”


You can’t help just freezing, your mind goes blank.


“Just say it you dumbass!” says the back of your mind.


Whatever came out of your mouth was stupid, but Rei accepted it. Rei holds your hand as you walk until she sees people, soon hiding her hands behind her back.


You see the first monsters of the day. You groan a bit, but Rei stands strong at your side.


“W-w give meahug to make sure we win!” Rei says as she sloppily tries to motivate you.
You accept her embrace, and take a last whiff of her scent, it's not too different from yourself besides the fruity soap she used. As soon as you pull apart, Rei is at work.


As the scourge of the battlefield, Rei takes no time or inflicts no grudge upon her enemy, only an unadulterated lust for battle. Watching her fight is less like a savage outpouring of power and closer to a perfect minimal art. There is not a move without purpose or fiery blast that does not meet its mark.


You feel sort of ashamed as the battle wraps up, your kill count is measly to Rei’s utter domination. Rei herself remedies your poor sensation.


“Driv- Sweetie! Are you OK?”


Rei pours over your body looking for injuries.


“I’m fine.”


Rei grips your arm, her sudden change from berzerker to shy sweetheart is a feature you will probably never get used to.


“I-I’m scared I'm gonna hurt you someday with my p-p-powers…”


Your phone pings with a quest complete sound as one of Rei's burn victims finally dies.


What to do?


It takes a second to get an idea, but Rei waits patiently.


Your hand connects with her bangs, slowly exposing her forehead as she shrinks under your touch. Rei's signature blush floods underneath her eyes as you pull her close with the other arm.


“H-h-honey pl-please… there's people over there…”


“They're far away, I'm not scared of you or a mistake.”


“I-I I am though…”


Rei needs you. Right now. You can't let this form of her down.


You use reassure what you just said, giving a moment to gather some confidence. It's now or never.


“You're perfect Rei,” as you make your move.


Your hand slides down to her hip as you lean in and kiss her on the cheek. Rei's being is shaking, her whole face is red, especially the cheek you kissed.


Rei starts gasping for air after you lean back. You let go of her. Both of you start nervously giggling, Rei pulls your hand back into hers after you two recover. The walk back to the car is filled with the most chatting you two have ever done, she sticks to your side without fail.


The drive has a soothing and heartwarming ambiance, Rei is absolutely smitten with you and has given up hiding it. Rei starts getting jittery and asks you to stop about an hour before the Lowee - Lastation - Planeptune intersection. You climb out of the car after Rei beckons you but quickly meet a snowball.


WH-PIFF!


Rei is giggling like a schoolgirl but comes at you full sprint after you connect a snowball into her shoulder. Rei tackles you into the snow, freezing your neck but lighting your heart up with a giant hug. You hadn't been sure if your love was genuine or just a mutual fear of the lonely and cold winter, but it seemed clearer every time you two got together.


Your beloved lets you off the ground and sweeps the snow off of you, she takes both of your jackets as you get into the car. Rei's white blouse and blue tie demand your attention, she has quite the fine body. Whether she knew it or not, you two were on a date now.


“Rei are you hungry?”


Her stomach grumbles.


“No.”


You look seriously at her. Rei caves and tells you to cook or choose a place to go for lunch.

Rei’s head bumps the window, waking her from a comfortable nap. She sees the sign and panics a bit, settling temporarily by your reassurance.


Upon parking, Rei runs to your side of the car.


“Ple PLEASE Don’t make me go back in there! I’ll die of embarrassment!”


“It’s my favorite restaurant though, and I’m sure the waitress has no hard feelings.”


Rei clenches her fists but makes a resolute expression.


“O- I- I- I’ll do it for you, but don- don’t make a comment or anything, I might get away without-”


You take Rei’s hand.


“Sweetie, don’t worry. If the waitress wants to make a big deal of it or kick out her best customer and his adorable little lady she wouldn’t be much of a business person.”


The door rings as you enter, with the most humble and embarrassed girl in the world clinging to your side. You take a booth, the same that you first talked in. Rei turns her face away from the waitress, it doesn’t change the fact that she is recognized. The waitress stops and gets Rei’s attention.


Rei starts with:


“I- I’m sorry…”


The waitress follows up.


“No big deal miss, you’ve got something much more important going on right now.”


Rei looks confused.


“You two are on a date right?”


Rei turns bright red, she can’t even respond.


You cover for her, your support would surely mend part of the regret in her heart.


“If you want to call it that, Rei has proved to be quite the capable little woman.”


Rei’s expression gets fierce. Did you say something wrong?
Her smile shifts suddenly to an enamored smile.


“H-he-He’s being h-humble, uhm, we-”


The waitress cracks a smile and giggles.


“You two are like school kids with their first crush, it's so cute!”


You and Rei lock eyes, you can feel your cheeks and Rei looks quite similar.


“Sit on the same side you two, I’ll give you some space after I finish your order.”


You want to thank the woman but she cuts you off.


“So the usual?”


“Well. Maybe?”


Rei intervenes.


“Pancakes!”


Rei squeezes your hand and you can see her smile widen.


“Toppings?” The waitress asks.


“Strawberries and Creme please!” says Rei particularly indignantly.


“Oh also a separate plate of cakes with Peanut Butter, Syrup and Butter!”


The waitress walks away, off to prepare your order. You want to know what you just heard from Rei.


Rei is beaming as you ask, her response is surprisingly upfront and resolute until she has to explain.


“I wanna eat pancakes with you sweetheart!”


“Why specifically pancakes though?”


You would think you had done something horrible to her the way Rei shrunk at your side. Her face was red and she fiddled with her fingers nervously.


“Ii-I-I wanna… well... “


You pull Rei in with an arm around her shoulders. Her glorious smile returns.


“I wanna t-take turns f-feeding each-eachother.”


You can’t help smiling, Rei had thought this out sometime before. She continues.


“I uh… it’s- it’s sweet, and messy, but it’s like love I guess…”


The table clanks with the weight of plates loaded down with food. The waitress smiles at you two and then walks out the front door.


Rei is shaking so badly she can’t properly cut the pancake so you give her a hand.


“Open up sweetie~”


The pancakes are delicious, but now it's your turn. The creme and tart berries linger in your mind, soon overlapped by the satisfied eyes of your love. Rei licks the creme off the fork before getting a bite for you. You trade back and forth, Rei creeps ever closer to you with every bite.


Fifteen minutes haven’t even passed and yet Rei’s blush cannot get any heavier. Her free hand balls up and covers her heart before she asks you for something else.


“S-Sweetheart I-I I want to-” Rei stops and gulps, visibly shaken.


“Yes?” Your face is hot, you can feel your heart thump out a drum line.


“I want to-...”


Rei’s face is only inches from yours, her eyes might have well been hearts with the love that they shone into yours.


Rei’s power icon flashes, giving her a little boost.


“I want to try and maybe… share our first kiss.”


“Right here?”


“Yes. I… I’ve never felt so good with someone… every day with you is anywhere from a date to adventure… every touch is like fire on my skin… just being around you keeps me warm, not to mention when y-y-you hold m-me close.”


“H-how about on three?”


You expected Rei to countdown.


“THREE!”


So maybe Rei just got jumpy, but you don’t mind.


Rei’s thin lips connect with yours, something just begs a better taste and you soon find your lips finding any way to get as much surface between the two of you. You pull back, panting.
It takes a moment to stop breathing so heavily. Rei looks even more passionate, like you had done little to resolve or satisfy her growing love.


“L-Like y-you wanna try again? Mh- like m-movie kisses do?”


“Huh?”


“Ju-just let me try…”


Rei’s lips find yours again, but her tongue slips through, tying with yours. The sensation is bizarre, but one of a kind. Rei’s slender arms are locking the two of you together, she uses her forehead on yours to break your mutual entrapment.


You’re still within kissing distance, yet you talk with her, and act as if you were just sitting normally. Rei’s blush has become nearly permanent, she takes her glasses off and puts them by her plate.


Your trading bites of perfectly fried pancake are increasingly interspersed with kisses, it feels almost like Rei wants to suck your lips off of you. Her cheek rests on yours, blazing just as hot as yours.


“Sweetie, just…”


“Yeah?” You weakly manage out.


“J-Just promise you’ll love me… I know we don’t have much… I-I know all the things t-that can go wrong… I-I just don’t- don’t want anyone else holding my hand, or- or giving me kisses… or going- going on adventures…”


You’ve never faced this before. Those lines alone probably gave Rei a few gray hairs. You know you could just agree, but why is it so hard to say?


“R-Rei, I p-promise to love you and be your one and only...”


Rei’s true smile emerges, blinding you with the rays. She can’t stop it or help it, she honestly loves you and your answer. Rei’s small posture returns as she happily says:


“Dri- Sweetie, you think if we stay together for a while…”


“Marriage?”


Rei’s eyes become dinner plates you can watch her pulse skyrocket. She looks at her left hand, checking the ring finger, clearly envisioning something. It takes a moment, but her other hand follows, caressing her left. Rei’s thumb rubs over where a ring would be, bringing her beaming smile back.


“If we make it, absolute- absolutely… I wouldn’t want anyone else… I don’t know… I just know-”


Rei stops.


You pull a little ring off your keys that would usually hold your parts discount tag.


You slide it down her left ring finger.


“One day- One day I’ll replace that. I’ll make it shiny and beautiful.”


Rei nearly crushes you to death with a hug, almost forgetting her immense power.


“Thank you thank you thank you I love you I love you!”


Rei fiddles with her glasses on the table.


“I-It’s only been a couple weeks… but… I feel like I’ve known you forever and ever… I hope you don’t think I’m getting jumpy or anything...”


You caress her hot cheek with a hand.


“Rei- I don’t think we’ll have any problem- even if we should wait a bit and get to know each other more… you’ve done more for me than you’ll ever know.”


Rei’s blue eyes shone, the only comparable sight is the ocean at sunrise. Even if Rei couldn’t manage to say all the things on her mind, her expressions sold her out.


It doesn’t take long to polish off the last of the pancakes, but there’s a new atmosphere around you and Rei. The awkwardness and tension are still there in spades, but you can feel a warmth emanating from Rei’s sweet little heart.

You drive for a while, Rei is tapping furiously at a old Lowee handheld which is ringing out all sorts of alerts, bonuses and commands. Getting even an individual delivery out of the way brings you ever closer to vacation time.


Time slips by, but the clack of the clam-shell handheld closing takes your attention back to Rei.


“Driver~”


The shadows and light of a nearby street pole flash across the cabin, hiding and showing the geometry of everything, flashing those wonderful blue eyes at you.


“Huh?”


“I-I was just wondering… When are we going to stop for the night?”


“Tired?”


“Oh… Well yes…”


“Next pull-out.”


The signature rumble and creak of the car stopping marks a chapter in your head.


As soon as your head leans back, Rei taps your arm.


She’s in the back seats.


“What?”


“I-I don’t want to-to be cold… not at all…”


“But…”


“Nothi-Nothing lewd… I just want to sh-share t-this blanket with y-you.”


Rei shivers, you lay with her after moving various bits of gear. Rei has forgone her usual suit coat to get closer to you. Her thin hair easily presses flat as she rubs into your neck. You can feel her drum-like heart beat, but also calm breathing. The rise and fall of her chest is like a metronome for the night. Rei isn’t well endowed, but doesn’t seem to mind. Rei wastes no time entrapping your arm in a hug. The silky dress shirt and form fitting pants leave a buzzing sensation on your body. Rei has taken the liberty of wrapping your leg in hers as well, leaving your whole left side in an electric glory.


Rei’s eyes flutter and close, an ear to ear smile on her face. Rei falls asleep easily, yet you can’t get comfortable with the woman lying on your chest. You decide to scroll through your phone, looking for something to do in a few weeks when you can get some time off. You can’t help but smile when you see the most perfect of options pop up for rent.

You wake up with Rei, her grasp tightens as you shift, stopping your movement.
Her voice is tiny but her point is clear:


“Don’t go yet…”


Her eyes are shining blue, a softness in her smile drags you in.


She settles around you again, wrapping you in herself.


“What… what do you think of settling down?”


You pause for a second. All you’ve known for years has been the road.


Rei can see your hesitation.


“I-I don’t need a nation to rule over… j-just a nice, c-cozy house to live in really…”


Rei bites her lip as it curls.


“Wi-with y-you.”


A grin creeps into your face, Rei is trying her best to not be gushy, but is still failing.


“As long as it’s with you sweetie…”


Rei nearly strangles you, her hug is overpowering. She bites her thumb nail as she moves away.


“Wh-Where would we go? I don’t think any of the CPU’s would like me in their cities…”


“Well let's get some breakfast and then decide eh?”


Some freeze dried entrees put energy and warmth into your bellies, but coffee and each other does the same for your hands and hearts. Rei stays at your side throughout the whole process. Every look at her grants you a jubilant smile back.


Your spark of devotion yesterday to Rei haunts your mind. You love Rei with all your heart, yet even with an absurdly powerful CPU, you still feel the terror of lending your heart to another. Assuring yourself that Rei feels the same is the only thing keeping you moving throughout the drive. Her sweet smile cheers you up, yet you don’t feel like you can look her in the eye right now.


Your grimace returns as you see the sign for a turn off.


The shudder of the car surprises a gaming Rei, who quickly fixes her glasses.


“W-what are we doing here?”


“Dead drop.”


“O-oh.”


Rei waits in the car while you place a waterproofed package inside a light pole.


You place your sword along the rear seat.


“Why? Are we waiting for someone?”


“HQ thought that this location may have been compromised.” We’re to wait for whoever may try to take that package. If they don’t use the branch Identify Friend Foe code, we apprehend them. GPS is on the inside in case they get away.”


“You… you don’t mind if I hold your hand do you?” Rei’s question comes with a beaming expression.


“O-of course not, we’ve got to wait a while.”


When Rei said “hold hand” she really meant to try and pull you over the semblance of a center console into her arms. Her smile is wholly embarrassed but she can’t hide her happiness at having you in her arms.


“Remember, we still have to keep a look out sweetie.”


Her hands are keeping one of yours captive by her left leg, her satisfied smile tells you everything.


“Oi, uh Perk up sweetie! This should be over quick.”


You kiss her forehead.


Rei’s hands grab your collar. Her eyes shine crystalline with the small symbols in both of her eyes.


“You missed.” she says tauntingly.


A cold metallic bracelet connects with your skin having slid down from Rei’s wrist. Its an absurd contrast from her burning lips. Rei’s nose rubs yours before she pulls away, her eyes closed. You turn to look at the observation…


A tall, cloaked figure stands over the hatch of the light post. It takes little time for the two of you to cover the distance. You notice the being has a very unique outfit, as well as a tremendous rack as the front of the cloak flaps in the wind. The woman’s magenta hair and an eye patch make for quite the design choices. The air feels very different. You leap with your lover into action.


“Playing hero are we now Rei? It doesn’t change your future.”


You turn to Rei. Her body is shaking before she finds her courage upon pointing her sword at the being.


“I’m NOT a bad guy anymore, CFW Magic!” yells Rei


“I figured you had better judgement than that Rei.” says Magic.


“I’ve found what I love in this world, don’t think I won’t smite you to protect this place!”


Rei is completely resolute, her voice never even attempts quivering.


“What is an old, nearly human CPU supposed to do to me?” says Magic condescendingly.


Rei bites her lip, you can see her shake with rage.


Rei disappears.


WHA-CHING!


Rei’s sword flashes, a trail of lighting following. A good few miles of trees fall behind Magic, the villain’s own (what appears to be) CPU Armor regenerating. The skimpy outfit is not designed for the cold at all, yet the character does not seem to mind. You realize that you’re standing alone.


“Getting rusty are we Rei?” CFW Magic snidely remarks.


Rei stands in the wasteland she just created, on top of a pile of trees.


“FIGHT ME!” She screams.


You can’t move quick enough to keep up with these two. You decide to stay at the ready near the pile of trees Rei had stood on. A tremendous shockwave tosses the trees like toothpicks, clearing a great expanse with a subsequent fire storm. You stand on a vacant plain now, scorched and more resembling Hell than Gameindustri. Rei reappears in front of you.


“Driver.” She extends an arm. “Remove my Locking Bracelet-”


Rei ripartes an attack, unexpectedly throwing Magic’s weapon over your arm. The blood is hot, and the screaming pain on top of a burning sensation is only dulled by the excessive amount of adrenaline in your system. It doesn’t take long to bandage the shallow slice, but Rei has frozen.


Her bangs cover her glasses, head at a down angle, only hiding a bit of her seething rage from sight.


You hear a voice from Rei that is entirely alien.


“Pull the damn Bracelet off me and keep it, you’re gonna need it to stop me Driver.”


“Tink!”


The latch slips open, showing that the metal bracelet had a fragment of an Anti-Share crystal on the inside attached to a detection mechanism.


Rei stabs her sword into the ground, a great blue light shines from her body.


“Goddamn I just love it when I do this. Alrighty, FUCK YOU CFW.” Her eyes turn to slivers as her voices raises.


“CPU BLUE HEART TRANSFORMATION!”


The initially blinding flash of light throws CFW Magic away for the moment that Rei needs.


You have no idea when the last time Rei transformed was, but the process takes it’s glorious time, rigorously strapping her now sizable breasts and butt down with a black and silver skimpy 80’s style one piece. You could almost hear the suit snap tight over Blue Heart’s generous body. Her now bountiful thighs follow a similar process, with boots going to the hip that show off a good hand width of space between the snug one piece and boots. It’s a sight you haven’t even seen yet, but damn is it nice. Her arms casually extend, snapping into similar gloves, leading to her upper arms. Tremendous black and blue neon pauldrons lock over Rei’s shoulders, making a terrifyingly imposing figure. Rei stretches, letting a chrome and neon blue armor clasp over her forearms, the armor corset seems like it wants to push her breasts out of the one piece. Two chrome, blue light horns flash onto her head, similar to the ornament you saw her throw away. Her breasts bounce as the glorious blue light fades and the body armor clicks into it’s final position.


The last bits of chrome and neon armor makes a metallic shearing noise as they fuse over her legs, leaving many of her joints still revealing the black and silver body suit. You move to step towards the enemy, Rei’s arm stops you. From her very soul, you can hear your sweet little Rei’s voice shine through the insane CPU exterior.


“Don’t go… it’s not safe… I’m doing this for you my love.”


Rei flashes twice, cutting two canyons across the battlefield. The air shocks your body and eardrums with a sonic boom as Rei jumps into battle. Every strike of the dueling pair throws blue lightning bolts away from their flurry. Rubble flies from the intensifying lightning storm, the boulders that are being sent flying turn most cover into concealment. You watch the magenta light streak away, cratering into the ground. CFW Magic barely got any hits in on Rei, who looked somehow even more infuriated now.


“I REALLY HATE WHORES WHO TRY TO TOUCH MY SWEETHEART!” screams Rei.


As loud as she is capable of, Rei screams:


“CPU NEXT TRANSFORMATION!”


As a gas giant acquires rings, Rei did the same, yet with a vast array of gun turrets, mechanical limbs and the chrome wings of a technologic Archangel. Her armor doubles up, gaining a carbon fiber appearing layer, where the chrome and neon gains some size, giving her a face mask that leaves her hair flying free. One could mistake Rei for a mech at this point, her slender back pulls the wings in, seemingly disappearing into a pocket dimension. As a final act, Rei’s absurd uniform pulls taut over the belly and shifts, revealing her midriff.


The slits of the mask light up the same intense neon blue as the rest of her armor suit.


For those that have have seen a point defense system activate, even they would be in shock at Rei’s immense gun system. The white lasers make a hopping sound as they practically leap out of the turrets towards their target. Nowhere is safe from Rei's hurricane of suppressing fire; the sky is blinding with the flood of lasers, and Magic’s best effort to dodge still ends with her crippled.


Magic has frozen, both in terror and with a gimped leg. Her eyes are filled with that seeping weakness of confronting such a foe. It occurs to you that running from Rei at this point would merely be prolonging her suffering.


Rei’s hands grip in the air slowly, cracking each one as she rolls her fingers. Upon meeting, the fists can be seen visibly quivering.


“YOU’RE GONNA FUCKING DIE YOU GET ME?!? DON'T EVER COME BACK!”


“MOBILE PONG CANNON!”


Rei slams her armored gauntlets together, flashing them into a tremendous cannon, all of her rings departing her side and forming a massive series of focusing rings, containing what seems to be the immeasurable power of Rei’s ultimate weapon. The wings redeploy, but as stabilizers which drive themselves into the ground.


The air becomes dead, you can’t hear a thing and the breath leaves your chest. You can’t breathe.


The flash of Rei’s weapon is followed by a mountain disappearing as well as a 60 feet wide path all the way to the mountain. CFW is gone, her final bits ascending to be reborn when she regains her power. The air returns to your lungs: probably a good 20 degrees hotter.


Rei lands in front of you, the click of the Bracelet would have taken Rei to her knees if you had not caught her. Rei gives you one loving smile before her eyes roll back in her head and body goes slack. You lean your beloved up against a rock, tending your arm while Rei rests. The alcohol pad burns for what feels like forever, the cold floods that patch of skin the moment you move to apply a bandage.


Lowee officials as well as White Heart herself arrive before Rei awakes.


Rei’s eyes flicker open to your grasp. Her small frame rests in your arms as White Heart turns the boulder.


“HEY! This wasn’t you two was it? Explain…!”


White Heart locks eyes with the still groggy Rei.


“No way?!?”
