I'm actin' real immature and that ain't helpin' none. Copycat, you don't dare apologize. If there are blame t' throw around, it'd land on my tab fer lettin' that thing go."

Blame the zebras for making the damn thing. Blame me for sending Daring Do on a mission here rather than just carpet bombing the whole valley -- that would have taking care of these missiles long before you guys got here. Hell..."

"Daring Do keeps mentioning her. Both in the story and in the mission reports. I know enough Daring Do to recognize the villain."

  15. [2014-07-09 13:28:18] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Golden_Dream bites her lips. She really wanted to tell her off in a blaze of self-deprecation, but her higher judgement finally won out. "CopyCat, please, why'd were y' up there?"
  16. [2014-07-09 13:28:28] <Mare-Do-Well> 3CopyCat glances over at Shatara. "We were trying to look at something in the distance. Mare-Do-Well pointed it out to Shatara but we couldn't get a better look ourselves."

  18. [2014-07-09 13:28:48] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Shatara shrugs. "Dunno...couldn't get a good look before...well..."
  19. [2014-07-09 13:28:54] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Golden_Dream closes her eyes. "Let me tell y'all what we're gonna do. First, we're gonna ask that tiny little robutt what it was goin' nuts about. Then, we're gonna try t' track down that dot."

I'm gonna try t' find another missile t' mess around with. Start figuring out where we need t' put a tag. Get, get ready with th' ointment and th' surgery."
  26. [2014-07-09 13:34:26] * Get_Puppy trots outside the truck and notices a grounde copycat "ow... that must hurt..." aproaches the wounded mare "uhm... are wings supposed to bend that way?"
  27. [2014-07-09 13:35:35] * Bookwright is too interested in what Golden_Dream is doing to bother with things like "taking shelter" and "finding cover". "OOoh!" He points a hoof at a bit. "What's THAT do?"
  28. [2014-07-09 13:37:15] * Golden_Dream would find a very safe stopping point, and then would attempt to smack Bookwright. "What th' fuck, Bookie? Get out of here, it might fuckin' explode and I don't need any fuckin' distractions after th' last time! Go with Shatara and Copycat!"
  29. [2014-07-09 13:37:15] * CopyCat shakes her head and tries to smile at Get_Puppy. "It hurts a lot too. Can you fix it, Get?"
  30. [2014-07-09 13:39:01] * Bookwright shuts up but remains nearby, staring intently at what Golden_Dream is doing.

  32. [2014-07-09 13:40:01] * Golden_Dream 's voice cracks and, with a grunt, gets back to work. "If you get blown up, yer waivin' all rights fer me t' feel bad about it."

  34. [2014-07-09 13:40:15] * Get_Puppy "a couple of VTOL engines will di the trick!"
  35. [2014-07-09 13:40:49] * Get_Puppy blushes "or... i can just put the bone back together and give you a posion, you know... the easy way..."

  37. [2014-07-09 13:43:06] * CopyCat looks at her broken left wing, and then stretches its healthy twin. "Um, I'd like it to be just like the right one, please."

  39. [2014-07-09 13:44:31] * Get_Puppy "well, i can do that easily... just wait a moment while i fix it and find something to bite... putting the bone back together in its place will hurt a lot, i'm sorry but it can't be helped"
  40. [2014-07-09 13:45:40] * Shatara goes back up to try to look at the thing
  41. [2014-07-09 13:48:02] * Bookwright is still looking at the thing.
  42. [2014-07-09 13:51:54] * Get_Puppy the mare's visor turn to red, she smiles and start examining the wing, trying to understand how many fractures there are and how to keep them together while the potion does its thing, starts humming a tune

  44. [2014-07-09 13:55:13] * Bookwright winces. Winces again. That's LOUD.
  45. [2014-07-09 13:56:49] * Get_Puppy "oh, look here! this doctor bag has everything! even painkille- ... oopsie... oh well, too late, sorry"
  46. [2014-07-09 13:58:55] * CopyCat nearly faints as her wing is snapped back into place.
  47. [2014-07-09 13:59:00] * Get_Puppy smiles at copycat "here! all better!" kisses the wounded wing
  48. [2014-07-09 13:59:15] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Get_Lost has the skills of an exceptional doctor, and has CopyCat's wing back right and proper.
  49. [2014-07-09 14:00:54] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Golden_Dream, meanwhile, has successfully removed and dismantled the second rocket.
  50. [2014-07-09 14:02:38] * CopyCat stammers, "Thank you," and only now brings herself to look at her wing, having pointedly turned away while Get_Puppy was working. She gazes in amazment, and flexes her feathers. "You did it Get! Thank you!"
  51. [2014-07-09 14:02:59] * Golden_Dream begins to busily work. A drop of sweat or humidity threatened to get into the mix of things off of he orange of her mane. She ducked out of the way, let it drip, and then finished working. "Alright. Shhhhould be safe." She thought back to dismantling some powder charges put underneath carriages to get at some of the swamp-thing's bait. Dad was kind of mad that she risked it, but it was easy enough.

  53. [2014-07-09 14:04:18] * Bookwright pipes up. "I especially liked the part where you disarmed the warhead, and almost cut the wrong wire! Ten out of ten, would watch again!"
  54. [2014-07-09 14:04:36] * Get_Puppy hugs CopyCat back "well, it wasn't hard at all. now you can play chasing missiles again!"
  55. [2014-07-09 14:05:37] * Noble_Heart frowns slightly at the continued disassembling of rockets. "What reason is there for taking apart these rockets?" While she wasn't necessarily adverse to acquiring new ways of smiting their foes from on high, missiles were generally rather a dangerous thing to be playing with without reason.
  56. [2014-07-09 14:06:49] * Get_Puppy "well, noble, if we're going to get our own mobile fortress of oppression, we need weapons. you know... that thing used to win the wars?"
  57. [2014-07-09 14:08:31] * Bookwright shrugs at Noble_Heart's comment. "I think it's kind of silly, if you ask me. We've got plenty of firepower already."
  58. [2014-07-09 14:09:19] * Get_Puppy looks at bookie, her visor turning ice blue "there is nothing like enough firepower..."
  59. [2014-07-09 14:10:11] * Get_Puppy "they want you to feel safe and the KA-BLOEY! they satellite streike you! then you wil lregret not having a global net of ultra-death rays pointed at the sky!"
  60. [2014-07-09 14:10:44] <Get_Puppy> /me "but it will too late, i tell you! TOO LATE!"
  61. [2014-07-09 14:10:47] * Golden_Dream seemed to bite her tongue trying to not yell at Bookie. She let his statement go, inhaled. Exhaled. Okay. "I'm happy I can put on a show there, Bookie." With kinder eyes, she addressed Noble. "You see a thing that can be easily stripped for resources, y' do it." She starts tinkering with the warhead a little.

  63. [2014-07-09 14:11:44] * Bookwright "It seems to me that we're tickling the dragon's tail here, Golden."
  64. [2014-07-09 14:13:11] * Golden_Dream usually has a habit of ignoring Get's craziness. But she seemed to be a bit hard to ignore at the time. Especially since, in the time she spent dismantling a damn missile, Copycat's wing looked right as rain. What the fuck is this magic?
  65. [2014-07-09 14:15:02] * Bookwright scratches his ear with a quill. "I think... we should be getting on. This is a distraction."
  66. [2014-07-09 14:16:53] * Golden_Dream shakes her head. "Anyway, Noble, I'll tell y' on th' road. Let's get movin'."
  67. [2014-07-09 14:17:04] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Shatara finds the speck in the sky through her scope -- an airship! The dual-balloon heavy zeppelin is painted in black and gold stripes. It seems to be moving into the basin from the southwest.
  68. [2014-07-09 14:17:29] * CopyCat briefly takes to the air to fly up to Golden_Dream. "Look, Golden! My wing is all better now!"
  69. [2014-07-09 14:17:54] * Bookwright points at the sky. "Shatara saw something out there, flying. I've been thinking back to the history of this basin, and I'm starting to wonder if Daring Do's old enemy is still around..."
  70. [2014-07-09 14:18:20] * Get_Puppy puts away what's left of the doctor bag and goes checking the truck's batteries while the others prepare to go away
  71. [2014-07-09 14:18:25] * Golden_Dream opens her mouth to speak, and then just shuts it. Do injuries have any impact anymore? Is Get Lost even real?
  72. [2014-07-09 14:18:31] * Shatara hmms. "Looks like the skies are gettn crowded. Seems there's a black'n gold airship there out there..."
  73. [2014-07-09 14:19:09] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Golden_Dream acquires a missile warhead. It could be sold, or used to create a powerful IED.

  78. [2014-07-09 14:21:14] * Golden_Dream starts to move. "I think they're old mobile zebra bases. I dunno if ponies used 'em or not fer war stuff. But if they're movin' and in th' air, odds are they got folks on board."

  83. [2014-07-09 14:24:21] * CopyCat flaps. "Does have wings?"
  84. [2014-07-09 14:24:40] * Bookwright grunts in thought. "So... it's a cross between a pegasus ship and a balloon? Is that what you're saying?"
  85. [2014-07-09 14:25:03] * Golden_Dream shrugs. "I dunno. Let's go n' find out." Goldy goes to get back on the Firewagon.
  86. [2014-07-09 14:25:07] * Shatara shakes his head. "Close enough, I guess..."
  87. [2014-07-09 14:26:56] * Noble_Heart nods her head to Golden Dream. Setting herself up to pull the wagon. "We shall have to see if we can find a way to the heart of this control system."
  88. [2014-07-09 14:27:55] * CopyCat takes up her position beside Noble_Heart and straps herself in.
  89. [2014-07-09 14:28:36] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Get_Lost takes a look at the battery array in the missile wagon. Unfortunately, she can tell that the batteries are some sort of chemical battery, not proper magical ones like spark batteries. Completely replacing the batteries would be required to get it working again. And it might not be designed to handle the power it would get from spark batteries.
  90. [2014-07-09 14:32:05] * Golden_Dream just kind of looks confused. How the fuck is Copycat up and ready to go again? Is Get just that good of a doctor?
  91. [2014-07-09 14:32:35] * Get_Puppy 's visor turns pink "IDEA! i need this battery thing on the wagon! oh bolts, oh colts! this is going to be fun!"
  92. [2014-07-09 14:32:52] * Bookwright notices Golden_Dream's confusion. "Are you okay, Golden? You look... bewildered."
  93. [2014-07-09 14:33:15] * CopyCat looks ove rat Golden_Dream and winks. "Get_Puppy has magic hooves."
  94. [2014-07-09 14:33:55] * Get_Puppy ignores everyrhing else takes some papers and starts scribbling calculations "sure, it's like going from mechanical to electrical and then from electrical to heat and using heat to creat mechanical again! it can be done!"
  95. [2014-07-09 14:35:49] * Golden_Dream takes Copycat's response as her answer. It's surprising how quickly she got used to her just being in her head. "Jus'... Thinkin'. Shit, if we had Get around Froggy Bottom, momma'd still be alive."
  96. [2014-07-09 14:36:09] * Get_Puppy smiles and turns to the nearest companion "girls... i think i can convert chemical energy into crystal power, and vice versa!"
  97. [2014-07-09 14:36:42] * Golden_Dream rose an eyebrow. "How's this gonna help us?"
  98. [2014-07-09 14:36:42] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Get_Lost already has the beginnings of a universal power adapter schematic forming in her head. A day or two of work, and she'll be have a workable blueprint.
  99. [2014-07-09 14:36:49] * Noble_Heart blinks. "Why would we wish to?" She was decidedly confused at the prospect. "We can already generate electricity on demand, if that is what is needed."
  100. [2014-07-09 14:36:59] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Parlay beeps encouragingly.
  101. [2014-07-09 14:37:11] * Get_Puppy "do you realize what this means? no matter what power source you have, with the proper tool, you can have everything work! universal energy source!"

  103. [2014-07-09 14:38:05] * Golden_Dream huffs. Goldy shouldn't have asked that. "Y'all should take that idea t' our employer. Maybe they'd get a kick out of it. While yer sketchin' that out, let's get t' that airship."
  104. [2014-07-09 14:38:57] * Get_Puppy "it means that with the proper amount of any source of power we could make everything work! zebra technology, pony technology!" doesn't even notice the others don't care, goes back to scribbling

  113. [2014-07-09 14:43:23] * Golden_Dream looks at Parlay. "Yeah. Or, hell, if th' robutt don't work, you know how t' speak it, right?"
  114. [2014-07-09 14:44:12] * Noble_Heart shakes her head. "We admit that We do not. Though We have heard it in the past."
  115. [2014-07-09 14:44:13] * Get_Puppy "yeah, parlay is learning zebra, but she needs more samples... more over, i forgot to give her a vocal module, so... uhm.. she doesnt' really speak it... but i guess she could beep in zebra, right, parlay?" the little robot beeps "that's the spirit!"

  117. [2014-07-09 14:45:49] * Bookwright cocks his head sideways. "Well, I can do a telepathy spell, and that'll simply bypass language barriers... I have to get them to trust me enough to touch them though."
  118. [2014-07-09 14:46:04] * Mare-Do-Well 3offers, "I know a little. But not enough to really hold a conversation. Must less barter."
  119. [2014-07-09 14:47:42] * Get_Puppy "as long as you know how to say 'don't shoot' and 'we come in peace', or 'we are tourists', it's okay"
  120. [2014-07-09 14:48:21] * Get_Puppy "do they still take marbles for large isles?" keeps scribbling while asking
  121. [2014-07-09 14:48:44] * Golden_Dream exhales. "Well, we can at least check in. RD, how'd'y say we're merchants in Zebra?"
  122. [2014-07-09 14:49:31] * CopyCat tilts her head. "What /do/ they use as money?"
  123. [2014-07-09 14:49:53] * Get_Puppy "parlay, please be a dear and listen to everything zebras say and try translating it. it will help your language for sure"
  124. [2014-07-09 14:50:49] * Bookwright looks out towards the speck. "Now we just need to make contact."
  125. [2014-07-09 14:58:00] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The speck is currently at the far end of the basin -- considerable flight time away.
  126. [2014-07-09 15:00:07] * Golden_Dream exhaled. "Well, fuck. We're gonna have t' make contact with th' locals sometime. I mean, th' least we can do is tell them t' avoid th' Enclave land 'cause there be plotholes in them hills."
  127. [2014-07-09 15:00:31] * CopyCat peers across the basin. "It is quite far away. Should we explore any interesting things we see on the way?"

  130. [2014-07-09 15:02:50] * Golden_Dream lowers her eyelids. "Well, y' got any better ideas where t' look? Maybe we can spend years combing over this jungle tryin' t' find th' one durned thing."
  131. [2014-07-09 15:03:32] * Golden_Dream rolls her eyes. "Besides, who knows? Maybe there's a translation book in there so that we can make first contact right."
  132. [2014-07-09 15:04:02] * Noble_Heart peers off in that direction. "Perhaps they are heading for the same place that we are?" She tilts her head to one side. "Have we been to the area where Miss Doo was found?"
  133. [2014-07-09 15:05:11] * Golden_Dream thinks. "Well, we know it was in this jungle. I don't think they went n' told us where exactly she was found. Not like there's much in the way of monuments."
  134. [2014-07-09 15:05:14] * Mare-Do-Well 3notes, "The entire basin is riddled with ruins and stuff. Just flying to that airship, we'll probably spot a dozen."
  135. [2014-07-09 15:07:06] * Golden_Dream exhales. "I'm hopin' since that shack seems t' be a hurried built thing, maybe it was supposed t' be some rest stop or outpost of some spy or immigrant."
  136. [2014-07-09 15:07:48] * Noble_Heart frowns slightly. "We can turn around and head back, if that is your desire."
  137. [2014-07-09 15:08:54] * Bookwright heaves a sigh. "... Ya know what? Let's do that. We're flying blind out here, it would be foolish to pass by anything that could be a lead."
  138. [2014-07-09 15:12:52] * Golden_Dream churns the thought around. "We'll check out where Silver Bell after we hit up th' shack. Shouldn't take too long if it's as small as th' name suggests."
  139. [2014-07-09 15:14:25] <Mare-Do-Well> 3CopyCat recalls Jingle giving her a warning about the zigga-whats. And that Ditzy Doo was found near one of them.
  140. [2014-07-09 15:16:39] * CopyCat has a lightbulb appear above her head. "Oh! I just remembered! Ditzy Doo was found near one of the Zigga-whats."
  141. [2014-07-09 15:16:57] * CopyCat adds, "Also they are dark and scary."
  142. [2014-07-09 15:18:22] * Golden_Dream stares at said lightbulb with large, confused eyes, mouthing something spurred on by surprise and probably vulgar.
  143. [2014-07-09 15:18:48] * CopyCat turns to her friends. "After we check that shack maybe we can search near some Ziggy's"
  144. [2014-07-09 15:20:04] * Noble_Heart nods her head. "That would likely be a good plan." She turned in the air to take the cart back towards the shack.

The inside smells of rust and rot, the holes in the roof having done nothing to protect it from centuries of heavy rain. This was indeed a snack stand, but nothing edible remains.

But they started making movies for entertainment, and it was awesome. We had a fly-in theater in Cloudsdayle, where you could bring your own cloud to sit and watch with your friends."

Based on the posters three of them seem to have featured only zebras -- one of which was clearly a love story involving alchemy, one of which is simply an image of a raised and bloodied zebra hoof, and one doesn't really give any idea what the movie is about except that there are a lot of zebras in it.

The other poster translated is "Memories of Equestria" which proclaims to be "The beautiful and startling real-life tales of a zebra in a land of ponies," and "based on the memoirs of..." Parlay is unable to translate the name.

It seemed to be some sort of in between, some magic beast. She was somewhat afraid that it would have been an actual pony at some point.
  284. [2014-07-09 17:46:08] * Golden_Dream stares at the poster a bit before being struck by an idea. "Hey, anypony got paper and pencil? I need t' draw somethin'."

In the distance, deep into the jungle, he spots three dark structures -- stepped pyramids each large enough to rise well above the trees. There are flying creatures moving about two of them.

It's still some distance away, but they should make good time. The creatures flying around the top of the ziggurat may be cause for concern. Sooner or later, they will have to decide whether or not to put down and approach on hoof.
