+Nathan Flasher Plant Based Nihilist __ The fantasy that you can convert 100% of the Earth's population to veganism (let alone 50%) using logic and appeals to emotion is profoundly and autistically naive.

*The only realistic and practical way to end the living hell on Earth for animals is to develop perfectly equivalent lab-grown meat that is indistinguishable from the real thing at the same (or lesser) cost to the consumer.* If that is just a pipe dream, then so is vegan activism and veganism may as well be declared a religion.

Why doesn't "Ask Yourself" use his platform to focus attention on practical solutions such as lab-grown meat? Instead, it seems he uses it to look for an excuse to shout over people and show footage of suffering and dying animals. "Ask Yourself" uses his platform to shame former vegans who already understand the issue, genuinely made an effort, and won't be doing anything illegal that isn't also being done by more than *99% of the Earth's population* - every day, year after year.

You may not like that people eat meat because it means animals needlessly suffer but it remains perfectly legal. "Ask Yourself" would surely have a bigger impact if instead of bullying and shaming individuals and former vegans on the Internet he petitioned actual decision makers with the goal of making meat consumption illegal (or at least placing a limit on how much meat can be bought/consumed as a first step). Or is making the consumption of meat illegal and/or placing a limit on it also a pipe dream?

If perfectly equivalent lab-grown meat that's indistinguishable from the real thing and/or making the consumption of meat illegal is a pipe dream, then what the f_kc is "Ask Yourself" trying to achieve given that logic and appeals to emotion cannot be effective in a significant and meaningful way? (If it were effective, then far more random people with no interest in the issue would be converted to veganism after watching videos from "Ask Yourself".)

"Ask Yourself" wants (nay, expects) 100% of the population to convert to veganism - _by yesterday._ And his echo-chamber grows as it cheers him on.

Given the sickening footage "Ask Yourself" delights in showing existing vegans, and his relentless shaming and bullying of former vegans, perhaps vegan activism should be considered a cult rather than a religion. It certainly encourages non vegans (the very people "Ask Yourself" pretends to care about converting) to dislike vegans, dislike veganism, and think of it as a cult.

That is the effect the wannabe cult leader "Ask Yourself" is having, though I am sure you will deny this. But hey, denial is a hell of a thing, tho. Amirite?

So come on, address the points I have brought up. "Ask Yourself" won't. He is too much of a coward to respond as he won't respond to anyone he can't autistically talk over. It's up to you. Where is your "vegan logic" to save the day? Or will you just block and ignore like every other intellectual coward.

For example, if you are trapped at the bottom of the ocean and your air is about to run out, then it wouldn't be an "appeal to futility" to point out that you're going to die. It's simply true. Another example to help you understand: it may be an "ad hominem" to call you a retard - but given the context of your replies it would be true. *I started out my reply by giving you a solution to ending the living hell on Earth for animals.* So there is no "appeal to futility" fallacy from me - even if it meant something - which it doesn't. +Nathan __ No. I did not make an "appeal to futility" even though your cult-following brain (which did not read what I wrote, "TLDR, tho") wants to twist it in that way. You have to read *and* _comprehend_ what has been written *before* responding. However, to respond to something _other_ than what was been written is to *"straw man"* it. I am sure a logician such as yourself does not need to be told what a "straw man argument" is and why it is a big no no.

If a few paragraphs of text is too much for you to handle, then you have no business discussing matters such as this.

*I opened with a solution to veganism.* I followed up by explaining why an "appeal to futility" - if it's what happened - is irrelevant in this situation. Citing a logical fallacy is not to be used as some catch-all for when you are mentally stuck ("appeal to logical fallacy, tho"). I am not going to restate what has already been stated in my opening message: there is no need to repeat myself unless you are retarded (would you like me to repeat it?).

And no, what you wrote is garbage: _"We can't eliminate all murder, so why bother at all?"_ - we have made laws to make murder illegal. Just because there are laws against murder does not stop murder from happening, but I would say it has helped to cut down the murder rate. (I'd love to hear you present an argument suggesting otherwise!)

Again - *I included a _solution_ to veganism with my opening message.* I am asserting that there *is* a solution to the problem - it's just *not* what "Ask Yourself" is doing. If anything, "Ask Yourself" is harming/slowing/hindering any real solutions as opposed to helping bring them about. Therefore, I did not commit any silly "appeal to futility" and your reflexive and incessant "appeal to futility" nonsense lacks depth and maturity.

If you take the time to read my opening statement, then you would _also_ see that I addressed the consumption of meat and the law (like how murder has been made illegal). You are going to need to read what I wrote and make an effort to genuinely understand it before replying again. If you do reply, don't misrepresent it ("straw man, tho").

Ask questions if you need help understanding something I wrote - I won't bite your head off if you can be civil and put some thought into it. If this is beyond you, then let one of your cult leaders step in and take over for you - _but they won't._
