I'm tired of all these organizations, to be honest. There can be a "Black is Beautiful" but there can't be a "White is Beautiful" without an AL Sharpton media spectacle. Equal rights is equal rights. Naming conventions, salary, healthcare, everything. Just be an "equalist" and it covers everything. Just the name alone "Black is Beautiful" IMPLIES that many people think it isn't, which draws more negative connotation to it. You know how we stop racism? We stop talking about ourselves as if we are different groups. Why "Black is Beautiful" and not "People Are All Beautiful?" People can claim to want everyone to mix nicely and neatly into a homogenous human pie. But it will never happen with all these groups. These groups CAUSE social segregation. THEY are the actual problem. "Yay, let's make ourselves equal by segregating every organization we belong to!" Black history month segregates blacks from every other group for an entire month of the year. Why not "Equality month?" Why don't Asians have a month? Why don't Middle Easterns have a month? Give me a break already. We need to make a year longer just to accomodate a month for every group that thinks they are helping their cause, when in reality hey are actually isolating themselves even more than they already were. Feminism is no different. It SHOULD be great in theory. But the perception is not the same.
