Buying from online headshops, whether you're purchasing some legal herbs, a pipe, vaporizer or whatever they offer, raises suspicion if you're to have it imported into your country. They scan and sniff ALL packages and even though it's not illegal to buy a bong or pipe, they sure as hell know that you ain't going to be smoking tobacco out of it. What they see in the packages gets recorded and if it is "suspicious", they will send that information to the govs and the police and they will keep an eye on you to make sure you ain't getting into "trouble".

If you can buy from within your country, it is most likely not to get scanned as long as it's not crossing any country borders. They WILL scan priority / express packages, so when you buy, make sure to choose standard. Drug traffickers will be willing to pay the extra price for priority because 1), they can afford it unlike most people. 2), their customers want the drugs to arrive quickly because their customers are wanting their drugs quickly and so on and so forth. And lots of other reasons.

The post office border security agents know their shit, so you got to be able to outsmart them in any and every way possible... some people can.

Look up the reviews of these sites before you buy from them and make sure the reviews are legit. If you have 50 5 star ratings that all say something simple like "Awesome!", "Thank you so much!", etc. Those are almost definitely fake! Avoid those sites! People who actually received the product will be willing to take time to write a decent review. Also, make sure you aren't being phished (Google what that is) and make sure when it takes you to the page where you enter your credentials that in the address bar, it says "HTTPS". If it says only "HTTP", it is not encrypted and the site is trying to steal your information. Get the fuck off that site! The rest is just common sense. You'll learn more as you get more into this business....
