CPV: Let me just alter the character sheet with the ability I want
CPV: unless you want me to describe it first

CPV: I want this character to be able to alter their skin
CPV: you know
CPV: Hue

CDF: Mmm, how often, and how?
CDF: Also, why.
CPV: Ive coined it as Dermamancy
CPV: you know Derma as in skin and mancy so it's magic
CDF: Like the term!
CPV: they can do it freely but it requires alot of power, enough to weaken them to a point of literally feeling sick and tired
CDF: Alright, got a number in a day?
CPV: it would depend on what they change I suppose
CPV: like if they where to alter the muscle density of one of their arms for combat it would not hinder them as much as say, completely changing their appearence
CPV: For a full change id say twice
CPV: once to do it and once to return to their original form
CPV: so one full cycle
CDF: Can they maintain this new form for very long?
CPV: up to 30 minutes if they are static
CPV: in combat or using alot of physical energy
CPV: probably a little under 10
CPV: as for minor changes like eye color or a darker shade
CDF: Mkay. Would five to seven combat rp posts work as an alternative (easier to keep track of).
CDF: Er, prolly just five.
CPV: I mean this character doesn't fight much but when they do 5 is probably all that they would do before ineviatbly losing
CPV: so yeah 5 sounds good
CPV: anyways, minor changes could probably be kept up for a day or two
CPV: so long as they dont stack
CDF: Alright. So for this ability, I would like to clarify that they can't suddenly turn their hand into a mace, or what have you, how unnatural are you planning for?
CPV: Their hand could possibly take the shape of a mace and use their bones for an extent of hardness
CPV: but not fucking solid steel
CPV: and it would still be painful and impractical
CPV: as for how unnatural
CPV: maybe using someone elses likeness and exaggerating it for mockery
CDF: Like a "grotesque" or caraciture?
CPV: caraciture

CDF: A grotesque was an ren version of it, mkies....
CDF: So this is mre than skin, this is muscle, bone, etc?
CPV: yes, but altering bone and muscle requires even more power when altered
CPV: and could cause a significant ammount of pain

CDF: Alright, I would qualify bone changing as a medium to large thing.
CPV: I would say just medium not even large
CPV: this character isnt' very strong to begin with
CDF: Bone growth is MASSIVELY painful, if you pair that with the necessary muscle growth, it splits people into howling pain.
CDF: This is kinda reminding me of the Tzimisce, from White Wolf! Not a bad thing, a really good system
CPV: I'd say the process would start with skin and then muscle and then bone
CPV: it wouldn't completely render them unharmed just not as pained
CPV: and I mean, it's also just magic so I dont know how you'd rule that as.

CEV: Doesn't sound bad so far. Are there any other abiltiies becides this, for lack of better term, shapeshifting ability?
CEV: Dermamancy, I think you called it?

CEV: ( Though, if they have control of bones too, I'd call it Shapeshifting just in general, since it'd be a full spectrum change."
CPV: I mean I suppose they could do it to other people if given the consent if that's fine but i'd have a hard time seeing that approved
CPV: dermamancy is just a more unique way to coin it but yes it is a full body alteration
CDF: Currently, the dermamancy ability seems in the green with the agreed circumstances above!
CDF: In terms of the casting on others, Alice is looking it up in Pathfinder rules-- since we already have some characters who can do a similar thing to other people.
