portmanteau = a blend word, like “camcorder” for “camera” + “recorder”, or “smog” for “smoke”+“fog”

Ways to make new English words:
1 blend (brunch)
2 copy from other languages (tamale - which is also kind of a back-formation)
3 back-formation (edit)
4 compounding (heartbroken, mailbox)
5 functional change = changing parts of speech (“friend” as a verb), with or without changing the form
	(other verbs: phone, cup, table, chair, book, pen, pencil, light, screen, mouse, key, wall, mirror)
6 acronyms (NASA, UNICEF) and other initialisms (omg, CIA, BWH)
