  1. So, I've tanked enough to get all 3 tanks to 60 (Yeah, I know, it's an amazing accomplishment.) But one thing always bugged me.
  2.
  3. Red blinking squares.
  4.
  5. I mained DPS for ages, and enmity indication was alwasy so easy for me. Green Circle, you're fine. Yellow Up Arrow, you're getting there. Orange Down Arrow, you're close to taking aggro. Red square, you have aggro.
  6.
  7. These are what I saw for 90% of my playtime in FF14. Very clear to me, as a DPS.
  8.
  9. Then I started tanking, and everything was red squares all the time. Except...red squares that blink faster means I'm losing enmity on that target. That seems like a good idea when you say it out loud, but...then you're tanking 8 enemies, and they're all blinking worse than a tacky christmas tree, at different intervals, with enough strobe to make a nightclub blush.

  11. So my question is...is this something that's been brought up before as an issue? Are there any known plans to change this anytime soon? It doesn't seem like it'd be hard to improve a system like this (though I'm no tech expert, nor do I claim to be, so it might be 100x harder than I make it out to be)
  12.
  13. Note, this isn't an issue with me losing aggro, it's more about me having to tab through all targets and use the very accurate party enmity indicators, but I have to switch targets to do that.
  14.
  15. And there's easy ways to improve this system, very, very easy ways. The simplest way I can think of...is having the red square ONLY blink if you're close to losing aggro. Red solid square, you're fine. Red blinking square...you're in danger of losing aggro. I think it'd be 100% better than the current system, but again, I'm not here to suggest any drastic changes.

  19. With such an obvious idea like this, I was just curious whether it's been addressed or confirmed as something they're not going to do at all, or what. I looked around and didn't find anything suggesting they weren't ever going to change it, so I didn't want to look like an idiot (too much at least.)
  20.
  21.
  22. TLDR: Is this an issue that's been addressed before? Have they confirmed they want to change it in the future, or confirmed that this is how they intended it to be and they won't change it in the future? All I really wanted to know.
