  1. The word "angel", in English, is a blend of Old English ("Engel"), and Old French ("angele"). Both terms derive from the Late Latin term "Angelus", which translates to "Messenger of God". Apart from being a messenger for God, an Angel is a supernatural being or spiritual being found in various religions and mythologies. Angels are also known for protecting and guiding Humans, and carrying out God's orders. In Abrahamic religions they are depicted as benevolent celestial beings who are intermediaries between Heaven and Earth, or as guardian spirits or a guiding influence. In Judaism an angel is a messenger of God, an angelic envoy who appears throughout the Hebrew Bible, Rabbinic literature, and traditional Jewish liturgy. Later Christians inherited Jewish understandings of angels. To me, angels are spiritual beings that carry out God's wishes. On one hand, they cleanse evil. On another, they guide and protect humans, acting as a guardian.
