  1. >Day....
  2. >What day is it?
  3. >Monday?
  4. >Hot damn first day of school today!
  5. >Launching yourself out of bed, you land on your rug piece, only for it to slide along the wood floor, causing you to crash head-first onto the floor.
  6. “Oh god that hurt.”
  7. >Holding your head, you push yourself up.
  8. “Fuckin' rug...”
  9. >After a quick shower and change of clothes, you look presentable.
  10. >Grab your bag and you're out the door into Canterlot.
  11. >The sun is slowly rising into the sky as you pass through a set of double-doors into the building near your place.
  12. >Walking straight to the main office, you manage to find it effortlessly...
  13. >It helps that many of the parents and their little ones are waiting in line.
  14. >Sighing, you hope you made it on time.
  15. >Slowly the line moves forward.
  16. >”Hey, where's your little one?” comes from behind you.
  17. >Looking back you find a unicorn escorting their young.
  18. “Don't have one,” you reply back with a smile.
  19. >Tilting his head he asks “why?”
  20. >Pulling a pencil out from your bag, you hover it in your hand.
  21. “Celestia's request,” you turn back around playing with the pencil.
  22. >Speaking of Celestia, there she is in the office talking with some mare.
  23. >”This is so embarrassing,” the purple mare shes talking to is covering her face.
  24. >Can't be as embarrassing as what you are doing.
  25. >But this is what you want.
  26.
  27. >You are Twilight sparkle.
  28. >And you are so embarrassed.
  29. “Princess Celestia, they can't be serious!?” looking up at the sun goddess.
  30. >”I'm sorry Twilight but the board feels a refresher will help. You only need to spend a week in each grade.”
  31. >Huffing, you know you can't convince her. It wasn't her choice.
  32. >”Sir?” the mare at the counter talking to the line. “Where is your little one?”
  33. >”I don't have a little one.”
  34. >Looking to who she's talking to, it looks like a minotaur but smaller, not as large, wearing a bunch of clothes.
  35. >It begins looking into the bag it's carrying on its back before pulling out some papers.
  36. >”Princess Celestia asked me to enroll,” he gestures towards Celestia.
  37. “Minotaurs can't use magic,” you whisper to Celestia.
  38. >”He's no minotaur. He's a human. Only one of his kind.”
  39. >Looking back at the 'human,' you watch him give the papers over.
  40. >The mare running the office looks over the papers real quick before looking over to you, more so Celestia.
  41. >”This is a magic school, minotaurs can't do magic.” She turns back to the strange creature. “At least that I know of.”
  42. >Opening his hand a small pencil floats around.
  43. >”This enough proof? Just put me in the classes, this is embarrassing enough as is,” he comments before looking down.
  44. >The mare writes some things down before handing him his papers back.
  45. >”If you need any help finding your class-room feel free to ask one of our many helpers.”
  46. >”Of course, thank you,” he sulks off reading the paper.
  47. >Looking to Celestia to ask her a question, you find she is missing.
  48. >Small panic sets in as you look around for her.
  49. >Finding her talking to the office mare, she brings you the class-room number.
  50. “But this is-”
  51. >”I know Twilight. I'm sorry but the board believes it will help.”
  52. >Shaking your head you begin to trot to room 302.
  53.
  54. >It's a rather long trot.
  55. >Reaching the room you look up to see a bunch of fillies and colts chasing each other around.
  56. >Ugh... Magic kindergarten...
  57. >Grabbing your paper you dump it off at the teachers desk as you look for a seat.
  58. >Front row is full.
  59. >Figures.
  60. >Middle is... is that snot coming out of...
  61. >Watching in horror as this little colt begins to blow a snot bubble.
  62. >Holding yourself back you look in the very back only to find that strange mino... human.
  63. >He's reading a fairly big book and there are several spots open around him.
  64. >Fillies must be scared of him.
  65. >Walking through the isle in between desks you take the desk next to him.
  66. >While putting your bag down you notice hes not really sitting in the provided mini stool, he moved it and turned his desk around so it's more like a small table while he sits on the floor.
  67. >'I wonder what book he's reading.'
  68. >Leaning forward slightly, you still can't get a good look at the cover.
  69. >Even farther, you feel like you haven't made any progress in reading the spine.
  70. >Just a bit.... more
  71. >Leaning almost over your desk, you begin losing balance.
  72. “Wah!” Falling over your desk, you look around to find the book is floating...
  73. >The room bursts out laughing as your cheeks begin to burn with embarrassment.
  74. >”Alright class settle down,” the teacher putting everyp0ny in their seats.
  75. >Moving back into your spot, you huff as the book floats over to your desk in a greyish glow.
  76. >Looking over, the human has a smile planted on his face.
  77.
  78. >Taking a look at the book, it's a simple 'how to magic for special unicorns.'
  79. >”Now then class I'm sure you have noticed our two special guests in the back.”
  80. >Passing the book back you look forward toward the teacher and all the fillies and colts looking back.
  81. >Looking closer the colt who was blowing snot bubbles is sitting right in front of you.
  82. “Eheh, hello.”
  83. >”Hello,” The human waves back.
  84. >”They won't be here for very long, Twilight Sparkle is doing a refresher course while the big minotaur looking guy is Anonymous, he is going through the grades until we find where he needs help at or he feels challenged. It's a special program for unicorns, I believe you were part of it Twilight?”
  85. “Oh yes! It's a really great program,” You smile back at the little ones as the colt in front starts to blow another snot bubble.
  86. >Gazing down you force yourself to gaze back up trying to keep quiet.
  87. >”Now Anonymous, I only know you from us just meeting and your file, would you mind coming in front of the class and telling us who and what you are? Possibly what you can do with magic?”
  88. >”Oh yeah no problem.” He stands up carefully and walks in front of the class.
  89. >”As Mrs. SnowFlake has said, my name is Anonymous, or Anon for short. I am a human and really I'm still trying to find out what I can do with magic. I can control basic elements but as far as spells go I don't know any. I can levitate stuff but that's not something to brag about to you guys I guess.”
  90. >A little pink filly in front raises her hoof.
  91. >Anonymous looks at the teacher who seems to give him the okay.
  92. >He points at her
  93. >”Where did you come from?”
  94.
  95.
  96. >”I come from another world, how I ended up here I'm not sure. I was found in the woods on the border of Equestria by some griffons. After calming down from my initial scare of seeing griffons and minotaurs and talking ponies, I was able to explain who I am and where I'm from.”
  97. >Pausing for a moment, he asks the teacher something you don't pick up.
  98. >She floats a book over to him opened to a certain page.
  99. >”If you want to come up, I can show you on this map where I was found.” He kneels down to show the colts and fillies who wandered up.
  100. >”After explaining where I came from and my age, it seems griffons age groups are different compared to humans. I was still considered a child in griffon eyes so the griffons took me home and well, adopted me. They took me to a doctor for a check-up to make sure I'm feeling alright, and to poke me with needles. You know, the fun stuff.”
  101. >”Ewww,” the class echos.
  102. >”That was also where I saw my first unicorn and magic. Since that day I checked every book out from the library on magic and attempted to recall everything I could about it. Took me a full year to quite understand what I was doing but the moment I picked up a quill without touching it... I was so excited. I was bouncing off the walls, and I broke the window in my room from cheering.”
  103. >Looking at the class you notice Anonymous has them almost captured by his tale and how he words things.
  104. >It's clear he knows hes talking to fillies and his story seems to have some gaps, but as he continues you take out a quill and paper and begin writing.
  105. >There is a brand new creature standing in front of you and no one else wants to ask it questions?
  106. >Are they crazy?! Do they not realize the information he could hold! What was his world like! What's it called!
  107. >As questions pour from your mind through the quill onto the paper a small bell over head rings, interrupting Anon's story.
  108. >Oh no I stopped listening!
  109.
  110.
  111. >”Alright class it's time for recess,” The teacher ushers the little ones outside. “If either of you want some fresh air feel free to join us.”
  112. >With a tired sigh Anonymous takes his seat next to you
  113. >”Twilight Sparkle,” he says picking up his book. “That name sounds pretty familiar.“
  114. >He opens the book and pulls out the check-out card.
  115. >”Ah yes. You checked this book out twenty seven times!”
  116. “It's a very good book!”
  117. >Beginnging to fold up the papers with questions on them and float them over.
  118. >”What's this? Some kinda note?” Opening them up he reels back.
  119. >”Holy cow! Normally when a girl where I'm from gives you a note it's usually like a phone number or something but-” he turns to the next page.
  120. >”How long are my hooves?” reading question one hundred and thirty two.
  121. “It's just that you're a new species and no pony seems to care or want to learn about you.”
  122. >”It's fine, just didn't expect.... this,” shaking the paper around.
  123. >”Hmmm I got an idea, you checked this book out more then enough times to know it like the back of your hand right?”
  124. “Hand?”
  125. >”Uhhh right, hooves.” he laughs “Um you know this book inside and out correct?”
  126. >Nodding he flips over to the last sheet of your questions.
  127. >”And you must know a lot about magic, any chance you could possibly help me? I figure you help me and I can answer some of these questions for you.”
  128. “That sounds like a great idea!” beaming at Anonymous.
  129. “Do you have some free time after class? It would be much easier to help you after.”
  130. >”Of course, guess I'll get to answering these questions,” he smiles back writing his answers under the questions.
  131. >”You don't mind if I, um... skip some of these right? Some are a little.... personal.”
  132.
  133.
  134. “Oh... oh right of course, that’s fine.”
  135. >Wonder what question he is talking about.
  136. >Question 43; does he have a cutie mark?
  137. >No, maybe it's question 57, how does his kind reproduce....
  138. >Oh that's a silly....
  139. >Celestia's voice echos in your head about him being the only one of his kind.
  140. >Looking over you take note of how he holds the pencil with his claw-like hooves.
  141. “Oh! What are the things on the end of your hooves?”
  142. >”Hands, and fingers,” He wiggles them showing the control.
  143. “Ohhhhh.”
  144. >Watching him write some more, you notice he's not really using magic to write like most unicorns.
  145. “Hey Anonymous, why don't you write with your magic?”
  146. >”As in?” he puts his pencil down and hovers it onto the paper.
  147. “Yes! While it's a very simple to do it helps build control.”
  148. >”Hm. Alright I'll try, but don't get too excited on any questions below this one.”
  149. >Watching him, you take note of how he seems to strain when his magic moves too far away from his hand.
  150. >From the way his fingers are twitching it looks like he's pushing way too hard.
  151. “Relax your hand.”
  152. >He relaxes it a bit but you can still see his magic fading when it moves too far away.
  153. >Taking one last look at him you decide to go find the teacher, he has basic levitation down it seems.
  154. >While you won't be learning anything in this class, you can at least help him, and maybe, just maybe, request to stay in the same classes with him until he feels challenged.
  155. >Trotting into the hallway, you take note of how he has no horn to focus his magic, it seems to stem from his hands, but what makes his hands special?
  156. >He has two of them so they must both be able to focus.
  157. >Questions for another day as you find Mrs. Snowflake.
