iPhone 4S, 5.1.1 Jailbreak - Absinthe

Maybe someone will find this useful....

Seems when you get lockdown error you can't JB until you restore?

My device was in lockdown before trying any of this, last night I tried to restore so I would be ready for today and got the same error.

My device was updated via ota update from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1

The device is a warranty replacement I received yesterday.

Made sure I would only go a day or two with no JB ;)

OSX 10.8:

Absinthe won't open

Added a 12 to the Absinthe binary or sudo ./Absinthe-10.6

Absinthe opens

"Error detecting device (lockdown error -5)"

Tried Command line

 "Bus error: 10"

Disconnected from the internet

Plugged in Device

Eject device from iTunes

sudo killall usbmuxd

cinject -Y payloads_rocky

Seems to work

After it's done no cydia

Rebooted again

Still no cydia

Won't let me restore in normal or DFU, says device not eligible for requested build

After I restoring in windows, the jailbreak works on 10.8 when I Added a 12 to the Absinthe binary or sudo ./Absinthe-10.6

Windows 7 x64:

I tried to jailbreak in windows while still in lock down

Plugged in...

iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000012)

Put in DFU

Restore

Restore works

Jailbeak Works
