Ornate horses never quite reach their destination
The constriction of their poles causes them frustration
Hundreds of squealing children clamber on them everyday
Oh how the horses would love to be able to fly away.

Coral pink unicorns and lilac Pegasus’ too
This ride of colour will have just the horse for you
But impatient are these horses, who never reach anywhere
The horses that have never been, outside of the fair

Nobody suspects that this Carousel is unique
Nobody knows the true worth of this antique
All the beautiful horses gathered on the ride
Guard their truly special secret with pride

The attraction is actually magical
And the horses rather fanciful
If not ridden on a regular basis
The horses will travel to other places

So one day it was quite a shock
When the fairground gates had a lock
The decorative rides were deemed boring and old
And so the old park was hastily sold

But no one knew that the horses were bored
There were places to see, much to be explored
An abandoned fairground, a great opportunity to flee
Finally from their duties, the horses were free

People were surprised to see the horses had disappeared
They just presumed that the ride was being cleared
So no one ever knew the true value of the horses
Respect things with beauty, I hope this story enforces.
