  6. Background:
  7. For a long time, Wakfu ran on a stealthy pay-to-play model, with the free content limited to the tutorial area and majority of the game locked out. Phaeris was the first true Wakfu free-to-play server and for some time, the only operational 4Chan related guild was No Fun Allowed. The guild did not advertise and consisted mostly of people who had discovered Phaeris by other means. Roughly two months after Phaeris launch, the soon-to-be guild leader of Aydiv created a thread on /v/, asking if there'd be a basis for a 4Chan guild. Before the thread hit the bump limit, there were more than enough people who discovered the game for the first time or had their interest renewed. The discussion was moved to /vg/ and Aydiv was founded. For some time, the two guilds were unaware of each others' existance, but that did not last and some rivalry started, including individual conflicts in-game and on the threads. NFA was the older guild, but the personal issues of the guild leader and management problems made the guild wither. Some of the most dedicated NFA members interacted with Aydiv more and more, until the decision was made to transfer to Aydiv and help anyone willing to do the same. On 2014 July 24th update, Phaeris' business model was implemented on Remington and Nox and shortly after Sad Pandas guild on Remington was founded and later The Wild Ride on Nox.

  10. Which server/guild to join:
  11. That is a decision that should be made by you. All communities have their own atmosphere and there is never ever any guarantee that you will like absolutely everything and everyone, because you have a personality of your own. Play where ever you think you'd feel the most comfortable.

  14. Server Comparison:
  15. *Phaeris, Remington and Nox:
  16. are free to play and use the same "Booster" subscription model;
  17. receive updates at the same time;
  18. are accessible on Steam;
  19. have players of various nationalities with good to adequate English knowledge.
  20.
  21. *Phaeris:
  22. has different content policy (most notable case: Krosmoglob being delayed due to severe bugs);
  23. has a separate database (noticeable in the cases of transfering cash shop items between servers and likely Krosmaster minigame);
  24. has an exclusive "Water Festival" costume (http://i.imgur.com/eQeGMsx.png);
  25. has a different "marketing" approach (notable examples include a variety of rental costumes, some of which give stat boosts and later cash shop packages that give mentioned costumes. CM Renommus on the topic: http://forum.wakfu.asia/en/3-general-discussion/8150-rental-costumes-rage-wee-bit-insight).
  26.
  27. *The ping difference between Phaeris(Asia) and Remington(Europe) is largely unnoticable in MOST cases, due to the turn-based nature of the game.
  28. *Remington has more decoration items available in the game shop.
  29. *Remington and Nox has Krosmaster tabletop game. While Krosmaster is accessible as a separate browser game, it has a relatively large portion of in-game content dedicated to it and carries a decent impact on Wakfu and the game's market (there are no news on when it is being implemented on Phaeris).

  32. Guild comparison (aimed at /vg/ guilds):
  33. *Aydiv is currently the oldest /vg/ guild and has approximately 5 months on Sad Pandas in that departament. Sad Pandas are around 1 month older than Wild Ride. This is relevant in regard to guild provided upgrades: passive guild buffs (guild points), Haven Worlds (guild castle of sorts that provides dedicated space for various activities and buildings that grant additional buffs) and misc utility/aesthetics (Guild Vault size, guild costumes, etc.).
  34. *All guilds have regular "dead and peak hours" (time zone shenanigans), "maintenance calm" (activity usually goes down before/after scheduled server restarts) and "(pre-)update stagnation" (activity goes down before/after bigger game updates). All in all, the guilds usually have a squad of regulars, who keep the guild alive (and hopefully running, if said regulars have 'officer' ranks in the guild).
  35. *Both Aydiv and Sad Pandas are Sufokia centered guilds, while The Wild Ride is Amaknian guild.
  36. *Aydiv HW is in Sufokia. Sad Pandas and Wild Ride have no HW currently (the HW areas are bugged and cannot be acquired by other guilds, even if those guilds have the resources and manpower to do so).
