  1.
  2. Round 1 of the Busou Shinki Battle Rondo. The stadium is packed as usual, spectators cheering for the start of another match. Having been placed on the central visualizer by her master, Vervi raises her hands to wave excitedly to the crowds of onlookers. She turns in place a few times as she does so and it kind of looks a bit more like flailing than waving.
  3.
  4. Once she's gotten her fill, Vervi lowers her arms and summons her armor from the Slipway with a burst of white light, then awaits the arrival of her opponent while precariously balanced on the narrow points of her leg parts. It's no small secret that she's nervous about a rematch, but she has to stay confident here.
  5.
  6. --
  7.
  8. Lizbet's Master, for reasons only known to the Union and one Confederate, is not here! So the LirBiete just flies herself to the Visualiser instead. Landing with practised ease on the pointy 'feet' of her armour... she promptly disengages herself from it, letting it just stand up on its own for a moment.
  9.
  10. She raises one hand, and then uses the other to pull a jellycan from out of the Slipway - a strawberry one! She takes several gulps from it... and then holds it out to Vervi.
  11.
  12. How casual.
  13.
  14. <J-IC-Moderated> Prince Goro says, "Greetings Multiverse! It is I, Goro, THE PRINCE OF PAIN! Here to introduce today's participants of this most acclaimed battle of tiny titans! On the left corner, with the blue bodysuit, we have the fifteen centimeters tall hand to hand specialist; VERVIIIII! Here to challenge her today is her opponent, on the right corner, wearing the bright red leotard, already looking eager to go with her accompanying strawberry jellycan, we have; the Lirbet, LIIIIZBEEET! Join me in (1X) for Round One of MOR-- *paper rustle* I mean, BUSOI SHINKI BATTLE RONDOOOOOOOOOOO!!"
  15.
  16. Goro is here!! Though he is uncharacteristically sitting far away from the arena on his stone throne.
  17.
  18. Even though there are cameras placed everywhere to zoom in on the action, the Shokan still has a pair of binoculars to spot the tiny kombatants. Because he just needs to see things with his own two eyes to both, better commentate and appreciate the action.
  19.
  20. --
  21.
  22. The offer surprises Vervi, who had already donned her armor in preparation for combat. She doesn't shift out, but she does lean forward to accept the can with a polite bow, "Thank you, Lizbet." Straightening, she takes a drink herself, then hands it back with a warm smile, "Please do your best!"
  23.
  24. With that friendly exchange complete, Vervi ignites her engines and scoots back across the table while the Visualizer flares to life with its randomly selected scenario.
  25.
  26.
  27. Vervi activates the Visualizer on random. The light and color swirls chaotically, before resolving into a Battle Field:
  28.
  29. WATER WORLD
  30. A vast expanse of beautiful blue water, stretching in all directions underneath a clear blue sky dotted with occasional white clouds. To a shinki, the water is only ankle deep. Rock formations of various sizes and shapes, all formed from generic gray stone, jut out of the water in random intervals.
  31.
  32. <OOC> Vervi picks out the appropriate music for this field http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cSWagUgzdI
  33. Vervi signals the start of the match!

  37.
  38. RIDE ON
  39.
  40. --
  41.
  42. Lizbet takes the jellycan back, pops on the cap, and basically -hurls- it to her side and into her Slipway. She then promptly jumps backwards into her armour in an obviously-rehearsed motion. "I wouldn't insult you by giving you anything but my best!" she calls, before igniting her engines... and, as soon as she hears 'RIDE ON', charging towards Vervi, Twin autocanons blazing. While flying at this point, she's still close enough to the ground to land just by sticking her legs down!
  43.
  44. "Twin!" Lizbet yells. Ahhh, attack calls.
  45. You suffer 1 points of damage.
  46. Lizbet does 1 damage to Vervi with a Mild Graze hit.
  47. Lizbet hit Vervi with her Twin! weak attack! <Standard Mechanic>
  48.
  49. --
  50.
  51. While Lizbet charges straight at her, Vervi's engines kick her into a hover just a centimeter or so above the water's surface. Swinging her laser cannon around, she uses the top-mounted shield to protect herself from the majority of autogun fire. But she's not dodging!
  52.
  53. <Shottugaan.>
  54.
  55. One of the pods tucked underneath her wings flips down on a hinge, taking aim. It splits four ways, then fires a dense cone of shrapnel into Lizbet's flight path. Only then does Vervi push her throttle up, ascending into the blue sky, tracing a spiral from the tips of her wings.
  56. Vervi does 1 damage to Lizbet with a Mild Graze hit.
  57. Vervi hit Lizbet with her Shotgun weak attack! <Standard Mechanic>
  58.
  59. <1X-Supplemental> Goro says, "The two combatants exchange pleasantries, with Lizbet offering Vervi a sip of her jellycan before the match commences. An interesting display of respect between the two warriors, I am an unsure of this is customary amongst the Shinki, though the audience seems to approve of the exchange, no doubt due to its adorable connotations. Thankfully for my insulin intake Lizbet is ready to begin this bout after the formalities have finished, she discards the can and dons her armor in one graceful movement. Today's glorious battle shall take part in a watery arena, let us hope our combatants can swim. There's the signal, and Lizbet goes into the attack! She dives low, staying close to the ground whilst firing her mounted machine guns at her opponent. Vervi raises her shield to deflect the blows and counters with a fragmentation grenade! Now she takes altitude, keeping her distance from her opponent for some reason, I wonder what she's planning?"
  60.
  61. --
  62.
  63. Vervi's not the only one with a shield! Lizbet draws her own more squareish shield from the Slipway with her left hand, bringing it between herself and the spray of shot. She gets a little dinged up but her shield takes the brunt of it.
  64.
  65. And then Vervi's rising into the air, so Lizbet does the same! Vervi may be faster than Lizbet, but Lizbet is more maneuverable, which serves to basically even out their speed difference when fighting in close quarters.
  66.
  67. Lizbet pulls a gun from the Slipway with her right hand, discarding her shield to wield the squat barelled weapon with both hands. "Unguided missile: Flying Torpedo!"
  68.
  69. She comes up right in front of Vervi. "POINT BLANK!" And then she pulls the trigger.
  70. You suffer 6 points of damage.
  71. Lizbet does 6 damage to Vervi with an Average hit.
  72. Lizbet hit Vervi with her Flying Torpedo: Point Blank moderate attack! <Standard Mechanic>
  73.
  74. --
  75.
  76. Vervi twists in mid-ascent, placing her shield between herself and Lizbet again. The Flying Torpedo strikes solidly against the metal, but with enough impact at such close range that the blue shinki tumbles briefly out of control, trailing smoke. The tumble becomes a roll, and that computerized voice chimes again.
  77.
  78. <Homing Missile.>
  79.
  80. Panels on Vervi's armor opens up and, as she rolls, half a dozen missiles launch from her at seemingly random angles. While the shinki rights herself and accellerates away, ascending in an arc the missiles themselves swerve in midair and home in on Lizbet's engine exhaust.
  81.
  82. <1X-Supplemental> Goro says, "Lizbet deflects Vervi's grenade shrapnel with a shield of her own. I must admit, it is amazing the amount of equipment these combatants can carry with them at all times, the joys of their diminutive stature perhaps. But fear fight enthusiasts! The skills of these Shinki are not at all hampered by their size! Lizbet quickly trades discards her shield for a lighter hand firearm to chase after the flying Vervi. Interesting, Lizbet catches up to Vervi in naught but a moment and intercepts her with a projectile of her own fired at point blank! Vervi seems to realize she can't evade in mid flight this time and raises her shield once more to soften the blow. It's not as effective this time, Vervi is sent flying sideways until she stabilizes in mid air. It seems these two are content in playing the projectile game for now, because Vervi's counter attack comes in not one, not two, but six projectiles! They seem to be flying directly for Lizbet's engines, no doubt Vervi has realized her opponent has the higher mobility and is attempting to cripple her! I wholeheartedly approve of this most devious maneuver!"
  83.
  84. --
  85.
  86. Direct hit! Lizbet too is sent tumbling, as she doesn't even have time to deploy her shield before several missiles slam into her engines. She tumbles up through the air - and then, as she reaches her zenith, she's thrown upwards, -out- of her armour! Her armoru transforms itself into jet mode below her, and she promptly performs a three-point landing on the vehicle.
  87.
  88. She stays where she is for a moment... and then calls "Options!", four of her ovoid grey-and-red drones detaching from her armour and shooting forward in a delta pattern, while Lizbet herself leans forward and bids her armour to follow.
  89.
  90. The Options pelt Vervi with laser pellets!
  91. You suffer 13 points of damage.
  92. Lizbet does 13 damage to Vervi with a Direct hit.
  93. Lizbet hit Vervi with her Options! moderate attack! <Standard Mechanic>
  94.
  95. --
  96.
  97. Shots pelt Vervi's armor and wings from behind, digging holes in the metal. Sparing a glance over her shoulder, she shifts her grip on the laser cannon-shield she carries. The barrel splits open, trailing misty blue light. She rolls again, deploying her own Options, but when she whirls around and throws herself into a hover, they don't return fire.
  98.
  99. It's the laser cannon that Vervi aims, the barrel's interior glowing and leaking a fine, pale blue mist. After the briefest moment to confirm her targeting, Vervi squeezes the trigger, firing a lance of blue across the sky. As Lizbet maneuvers, Vervi draws the beam in pursuit.
  100. Vervi does 13 damage to Lizbet with a Direct hit.
  101. Vervi hit Lizbet with her Laser moderate attack! <Standard Mechanic>
  102.
  103. <1X-Supplemental> Goro says, "What firepower! Lizbet was thrown clear off her armor with that attack!! Not even given enough time to defend herself with her shield. I suppose she will careen down to her watery doom below without her jetpack, if we could get some spike pits instead of water that would be more convenient, or perhaps an acid pool...hmm... WAIT! Lizbet wasn't thrown off her armor, it was redeploying itself into a jet plane below her! The LirBiete is living up to her maneuverability today! She fires a set of orbs that fly up to Vervi whilst she flies close behind. The orbs begin to fire on Vervi to distract her! The old fashioned; run after your own projectile move! Lizbet has her own set of devious tricks too, it seems! Vervi takes some visible damage on her armor this time! It looks like she's back pedaling, looking behind her to consider her own options, she better move fast for Lizbet is closing in dangerously quick! There's the move, Vervi deploys her own set of orbs to assist her. Hold, I recognize deviousness when I see it.. ah! A feint! Vervi tossed the orbs out to draw Lizbet's attention to instead fire at her with her main hand cannon! Hah..I love to see two devious fighters do battle. Always so unpredictable!"
  104.
  105. --
  106.
  107. Lizbet pulls out her shield as she charges forward - and the laser punches right through it, knocking it out of her hand and caused Lizbet to take a bad hit to her left shoulder. Her arm doesn't break off or anything, but it hangs loosely now...
  108.
  109. But Lizbet's momentum isn't arrested at all! After all, whoever heard of lasers providing kinetic energy? Nonsense. She suddenly leaps from her armour-jet... and then brings one foot down onto one of her Options, using it as a stepping stone. She leaps again, to another of her options, then aims to leap to one of -Vervi's- Options - but not for long, as she quickly leaps again, right at Vervi.
  110.
  111. She summons one of the Twin cannons to her hand. Three twiangular prongs deploy from around the barrel, locking into place... oh, right, the Twin cannons are also her armour's robot arms.
  112.
  113. She sails through the air, shifts the cannon to a one-handed reverse grip... "TWIN PUNCH!" PAWWWNCH
  114. You suffer 13 points of damage.
  115. Lizbet does 13 damage to Vervi with an Above Average hit.
  116. Lizbet hit Vervi with her Ridiculously Acrobatic Twin Punch strong attack! <Standard Mechanic>
  117.
  118. Lizbet is, of course, now in freefall. But it -looked- cool.
  119.
  120. --
  121.
  122. Vervi quickly dismisses her laser cannon into the Slipway, quickly considering her options. There's a brief flash of worry when she sees what's happened with Lizbet's arm, but it disappears as soon as she remembers where she is. That's just simulated damage. This is a Battle Field.
  123.
  124. When the LirBiete gets close again, Vervi's wings re-angle and she fires a shot from her under-wing shotgun pod. The blast goes wide, as Lizbet is already in her face. With a shout of surprise, the blue Shinki takes the punch full on, the force causing her to flip head over heels while Lizbet drops past her. Her armor splits open and Vervi is thrust out of it in an upward arc.
  125.
  126. In midair, the slipway flares around her hands until it produces a new rifle. Her armor likewise flashes with Slipway light, obtaining an identical weapon in place of its right arm. Both armor-robot and airborne shinki level their weapons at Lizbet's falling form, simultaneously firing high velocity slugs that should converge right on her.
  127.
  128. Vervi's armor then dismisses the Gauss Cannon and twists about, intercepting Vervi's fall in such a way that she 'falls' into wearing it once again.
  129. Vervi does 12 damage to Lizbet with an Above Average hit.
  130. Vervi hit Lizbet with her Double Gauss strong attack! <Standard Mechanic>
  131.
  132. <1X-Supplemental> Goro says, "Lizbet takes the hit full on! Ripping her shield right out of her arm in the process! She seems fully intent on committing to her attack though and she muscles her way through the incandescent blue energy to reach Vervi! At last!! Glorious close combat will be joined!! Lizbet jumps out of her jet--has she gone mad!!? She is nowhere near close Vervi! She uses her floating orbs as stepping stones to reach her opponent and brings one of her shoulder cannons to her hand intending to use it as a improvised tonfa. Is she really-HAHAH! YES!! A devastating right haymaker by Lizbet!! Vervi tries to desperately fire more energy blasts to defend herself, the chocked distance between the two make this too unreliable to work and she's sent spinning backwards in the air due to the blow! Vervi readjusts herself in mid air and has noticed something crucial on her opponent, Lizbet has over-extended herself and has no means to maneuver in mid air without her flying engine. An opportunity Vervi takes to sacrifice her own mobility to no added cost and put all her power to fire at Lizbet's back while she's flying helplessly down! SUPERB!!"
  133.
  134.
  135. Goro raises his arms and gives an approving 'GRAAA!'.
  136.
  137. --
  138.
  139. Lizbet takes two powerful gauss cannon shots to the back. Her back arches downwards in a way that would probably insidcate a broken spine were she a human, and she -slams- down into the water, throwing up a mist at least five times her own height.
  140.
  141. She doesn't move.
  142.
  143. However, all five of her drones promptly open fire. She's not unconscious yet!
  144. You suffer 16 points of damage.
  145. Lizbet does 16 damage to Vervi with a Direct hit.
  146. Lizbet hit Vervi with her Twins -and- Ripple Lasers! strong attack! <Standard Mechanic>
  147.
  148. --
  149.
  150. Vervi rolls once she's reunited with her armor, throwing herself into a high speed turn that trails mist from the tips of her wings. Twin shots pelt her armor and wings more, and in the midst of her evasion the edge of a Ripple ring scores across the side of her flight unit, shearing armor off and leaving an angry black mark on the engine cowling. The VerVietta frowns tensely in concentration.
  151.
  152. Reticles dance across her vision as she swings around, still traveling at top speed. Once she's satisfied she has enough, the blue shinki's armor opens in several places and she hurls herself into a roll. This time, while she fires the same half-dozen missiles from her body, her Options likewise launch their own six-missile salvos. Arcing in midair, the missiles scatter after individual targets. Two apiece to each Option, close to a dozen focused on Lizbet's autonomous armor, and the remainder swoop down into the misty cloud that obscures Lizbet's watery landing.
  153. Vervi does 18 damage to Lizbet with a Direct hit.
  154. Vervi hit Lizbet with her All of the Missiles Forever strong attack! <Standard Mechanic>
  155.
  156. <1X-Supplemental> Goro says, "We could be getting close here!! Lizbet's body arches in a way that suggest a broken vertebrate! While this simulation prevents the Shinki from suffering any real, permanent damage, it is a pity we do not yet have the means to confirm this. WHEN AM I GETTING THAT BLASTED X-RAY CAMERA I REQUESTED!? Oh!! Lizbet actually landed on the water after the blast! Is this it?? Her orbs are still battling for her and blast at Vervi from behind while she was focused on her target! The blue bodysuited Shinki weaves attempts to weave through the blows at the last second, but she seems to have been caught too unprepared to avoid them! Vervi retaliates by firing more projectiles from her body /and/ her own floating orbs to utterly obliterate the reminders of Lizbet's self moving armor out of the sky! She also throws some missiles down into the water where Lizbet fell for good measure!! Yeess.. give no quarter to your opponent!! FINISH HER!"
  157. Somewhere, Nathan Hall has connected.
  158. Nathan Hall has been invited to join you.
  159.
  160. --
  161.
  162. Lizbet gets up into a crouching position, shaking her head woozily... but then there are missiles heading for her. She gives an adorable eep, and aims her hand-cannon at some of them - but she still ends up getting caught in an explosion and flung up into the air.
  163.
  164. Her armour loses a wing from the hail of missiles, while three of her four Options are trashed. But the missing wing doesn't inhibit its ability to fly, as it transforms into robot mode and swoops down to catch Lizbet - with only one arm, as Lizbet is currently wielding its other hand. And besides, the mount for its right arm was on the wing it just lost.
  165.
  166. Lizbet reunites with her armour, then summons her Ripple Laser rifle to her right hand - banishing the Twin cannon in the same motion.
  167.
  168. She grips the rifle in her right hand, igniting the beam saber bayonet, before charging for Vervi again, shooting all the way.
  169. You suffer 2 points of damage.
  170. Lizbet does 2 damage to Vervi with a Mild Graze hit.
  171. Lizbet hit Vervi with her Charging Ripple Lasers! And some token Twin shots from the one Option left strong attack! <Standard Mechanic>
  172.
  173. --
  174.
  175. Vervi rolls onto her back. With a flash of the Slipway, her Rifle/Shield combination returns and she hefts the boxy metal plate defensively. There's a certain coldness in her eyes, highlighted by the flash of rounds striking her shield, hurling sparks into the air behind her. With black marks marring her shield's surface, and it too occupied for her to use the rifle it's mounted to, Vervi instead chooses to stop in midair.
  176.
  177. Her right arm swings back, producing a small rod from the Slipway right into her outstretched hand. Hovering, she allows Lizbet to approach, fully aware of the LirBiete's much stronger melee capability. When Lizbet gets close, Vervi twists her body and raises her own beam sword. Not to attack, but to lock into the 'fork' shape of Lizbet's much larger weapon and prevent it from advancing into her.
  178.
  179. Blade-Locked and having shifted into Monitor mode, Vervi stares almost impassively at her red-armored companion model. There's a hint of a smile, but it's not Vervi's usual smile. With little warning, both of her under-wing gunpods flip down and discharge cones of shrapnel at point blank range.
  180. Vervi does 4 damage to Lizbet with a Graze hit.
  181. Vervi hit Lizbet with her Point Blank Shotgun strong attack! <Standard Mechanic>
  182.
  183. <1X-Supplemental> Goro says, "There she is! Lizbet resurfaces from the water just in time to meet face to face with the projectiles Vervi sent after her! Even as she attempts to intercept them with her blaster, many of them hit home and sent her upwards into the air! With most of her armor destroyed it is unlikely that she will-- what!? Incredible! Lizbet is still in this fight! Her disembodied armor catches her in mid air and she rejoins with it to resume her attack against Vervi, even her single solitary flying orb joins in on the fray. The clear intent of the move is to close in the distance again where the LirBiete model apparently has the advantage! A beam bayonet already deployed to pierce the VerVietta right through! It seems that Vervi senses this, because she deflects the shots fired at her with her shield and dives to meet her opponent head on, using her forked beam sword to hold her at bay! What a dramatic clash between the two! Vervi then.. deploys grenades in close proximity!!? Does she intend to blow herself up with her opponent!? ...I would be fine with this development."
  184.
  185. <1X-Supplemental> Goro says, "I have just been informed it was a shotgun deployed and not grenades. Listen, I am a martial artist enthusiast, not an explosives expert."
  186.
  187. --
  188.
  189. Lizbet raises her foot to kick Vervi away just as she launches her attack, beam sabers both sending sparks of plasma out as they grind against each other. Shot deflects off her armour, taking a few gouges out of it but nothing seriously. She promptly drops her rifle - and then deploys her armour's 'heels', which snap out and then close around the rifle to -catch- it.
  190.
  191. Lizbet then promptly shifts around and performs a circle kick, -with her rifle held with her foot-. Essentially, it becomes a very wide sword slash. "SABER ARC!"
  192. You suffer 17 points of damage.
  193. Lizbet does 17 damage to Vervi with a Direct hit.
  194. Lizbet hit Vervi with her Someone's Been Playing Too Much Metal Gear Rising strong attack! <Standard Mechanic>
  195.
  196. --
  197.
  198. Dropping the rifle and its bayonet pushes Vervi off balance. Though she recovers quickly enough, she's left completely open to the surprise spinning slash-kick Lizbet uses. An arc of blue light cleaves across Vervi's armor, severing one of her wings and cleaving off most of the shield mounted to her rifle. Adjusting her flight to account for the loss of lift, the blue shinki drops.
  199.
  200. As she falls, Vervi whirls around and aims her rifle again. The barrel snaps open, trailing that glowing blue mist from its charge cycle. After a pause to confirm her targeting, Vervi fires her Laser again, from almost directly below Lizbet.
  201.
  202. Before she hits the water, her engines flare to life and she pulls out of the dive in an unsteady arc, trailing smoke from her wing mounts and the adjacent engine.
  203. Vervi does 12 damage to Lizbet with an Above Average hit.
  204. Vervi hit Lizbet with her High Angle Laser strong attack! <Standard Mechanic>
  205.
  206. <1X-Supplemental> Goro says, "Nevertheless, Lizbet as much as I, dislikes the idea of having explosions occur at such short distance. The LirBiete breaks the beam saber clinch with a kick to the solar plexus and disengages her opponent. Then she drops her rifle? And catches it with her foot? What in blazes--YES!! What an ingenious maneuver! Lizbet swings her beam bayonet with her leg adding a lot of length to her attack! I do not recommend attempting to mimic the technique without the aid of heels. Vervi, on the other hand, has more efficient manners to deal with her opponent. She drops down, purposely losing altitude to stay away from her dancing, sword kicking opponent, and fires at her from below with another powerful blast from blaster! Vervi avoids sinking into the water, but her armor is clearly damaged now. Both fighters struggle to keep up with the other!"
  207.
  208. --
  209.
  210. Nathan was always here!
  211.
  212. When one of the wings is torn off, his stoic expression conducts a hint of a wince. Oh no! And things had been so light for a moment there, but now we're back into the more intense and vicious kind of fighting. Nathan's back into being tense and intermittently making worried noises, leaning forward in his seat. And then there's the big laser! He bits his lip and is, abruptly, extremely hopeful about that landing well...
  213.
  214. He was definitely here the whole time, and has, definitely, been really into this! In his quiet, reserved, stoic kind of way.
  215.
  216. --
  217.
  218. Lizbet is blasted head-on with Vervi's laser -again-. Luckily, it hits the armoured plate in front of her torso, glancing off slightly and dealing most of its damage to the armour. Lizbet promptly drops down to chase after Vervi... then suddenly kicks her left leg out, holding the rifle and its beam bayonet. Which promptly detaches and is flung towards Vervi, solely from the momentum of the kick. "Uh... B-BEAM MISSILE!"
  219.
  220. "...That name was awful..."
  221. You suffer 16 points of damage.
  222. Lizbet does 16 damage to Vervi with a Direct hit.
  223. Lizbet hit Vervi with her Beam Missile? strong attack! <Standard Mechanic>
  224.
  225. --
  226.
  227. Maneuvering with a missing wing and a damaged engine proves difficult. Vervi glances back, then rolls to one side in an attempt to avoid the bayonet-armed rifle coming at her. But with the lack of control surfaces, she winds up going full circle right back to where she was. There's a brief, concerned noise, right before the forked beam blade buries itself right between the engines of her flight pack. The engines promptly die, the right emitting a burst of flame in a minor explosion while Vervi drops, trailing black smoke.
  228.
  229. She hits the water solidly, flips, and then slides to a stop. With a flicker, her armor disappears into the Slipway, dropping Lizbet's weapon into the water beside her. Picking herself up, Vervi grasps the weapon and then whirls in place, raising the LirBiete's rifle right back at her. In her other hand, Vervi still clutches her own laser cannon. With beads of water running off her face and body, Vervi opens fire with both the blue beam of her Laser and the crimson rings of Lizbet's Ripple, filling the sky with a colorful lightshow.
  230. Vervi does 16 damage to Lizbet with a Direct hit.
  231. Vervi hit Lizbet with her Ripple and Laser, two great tastes that go great together strong attack! <Standard Mechanic>
  232.
  233. <1X-Supplemental> Goro says, "DIVEKICKS!! We have divekicks, fighting fanatics!! After taking the blast from below, Lizbet drops down with a foot extended to kick her beam bayonet at her water injured opponent! Vervi only manages to fly in circles due to a clipped wing and takes the blow directly on her back armor which sends her down again to the water! Really, there should be a hazard there instead of harmless water, who doesn't penalize their fighters for falling down a ledge? Oh, but here is when Vervi's true deviousness comes to light again! She picks up Lizbet's rifle whilst summoning one of her own and fires both weapons up at Lizbet to double the impact!"
  234.
  235. --
  236.
  237. Vervi's Laser hits Lizbet's remaining wing, and then her own Ripple hits her opposite engine. She begins to falter, trying to stay in the air with just one engine and no wings... and sort of fails, floating down to the ground.
  238.
  239. She balances on one leg, and fixes her eyes on Vervi. Then she grins. "...This fight... is amazing. Whoever wins or loses... No regrets, you hear?!"
  240.
  241. Her one remaining engine angles behind her, and then fires. "One-Engine!" She accelerates right at Vervi. "Kyuukyoku!" She raises her right, armoured leg. "SHINKI!" Almost there...
  242.
  243. "KIIIIICKU!"
  244. You suffer 17 points of damage.
  245. Lizbet does 17 damage to Vervi with a Direct hit.
  246. Lizbet hit Vervi with her Ultimate God Princess KIIIICKU! Super Robot Taisen? What's that? strong attack! <Standard Mechanic>
  247. Vervi has been knocked out!
  248.
  249. --
  250.
  251. The Ripple laser clicks and Vervi immediately casts it aside, lacking the proper equipment to recharge it. Shifting her stance, she aims the Laser again, but the burst just barely misses Lizbet as she charges in. The impact is solid, square in the center of Vervi's chest. There's a spark from the blow and the blue shinki's casing cracks. She drops her R Laser as she falls, hitting the water and sliding to a stop with an empty look on her face.
  252.
  253. There's an electrical noise. A moment later, the skybox and sprawling water-covered Field dissolves from the top down, showing the roaring crowd once more. The damage disappears from Vervi once the deactivating Field passes her, but she remains laying there, staring at the lights and holograms of the Arena.
  254.
  255. After a moment, she closes her eyes and starts to laugh that pure, honest laugh of hers.
  256. >>> SUMMARY - Vervi <<< - DOWN
  257.
  258. --
  259.
  260. As Lizbet flies past Vervi, she tries to stick the landing. But with only one armoured leg... she trips, tumbling into the air. Her armour vanishes, and she regains the use of her left arm just in time to try catching herself with her hands. She fails -that-, as well, bounces twice, ends up on her feet... then faceplants.
  261.
  262. And then she bursts out laughing.
  263.
  264. <1X-Supplemental> Goro says, "Lizbet is finally grounded after that double attack, joining her fellow Shinki down on the watery ground! With all other options exhausted and with her armor in ruins, Lizbet takes the correct approach and engages Vervi in close kombat! Just as the Eldergods intended!! A flying front kick powered by her one remaining engine is all it takes to break Vervi's defenses and send her sprawling down on the ground!! Vervi is down!! Now comes the FATALITY!!! ...No? I suppose they are just going to laugh about this. Bah.. yet another bloodless encounter, but one where Lizbet emerges victorious! The LirBiete advances!!"
  265.
  266. --
  267.
  268. Nathan Hall has done as predicted: The whole seat was paid for, but as far forward as he is now, only the edge is in use. When the flying battle is completely grounded, and then Lizbet and Vervi have their DRAMATIC GROUND CLOSE-COMBAT CONFRONTATION!
  269.
  270. When it comes down to the question of if Vervi can make that ONE shot before Lizbet kicks her, his eyes are wide and be grits his teeth, but he's stillllllll retaining that stoicism as best he can. It's intense, though, and there's no mistaking that Nathan's as invested in this as any of the more loud crowd might be. And then, the kick! And the match is decided.
  271.
  272. He's hopeful, for a moment! That instead of the field deactivating and such, Vervi will be getting back up, but it's not to be. He relaxes a little, exhaling a long-held breath, and sits back in his seat.
  273.
  274. Then, after a few seconds of rest, he's back up on his feet, heading down to... Er, well, wherever it is that Masters are supposed to go to get their Shinki after the battles. Is that down by the arena?
  275.
  276. --
  277.
  278. After a moment to recover herself, Vervi sits up and then rises to her feet, turning to offer Lizbet a hand, "It was a great fight." Eyes closing, she beams a warm smile, "Thank you very much. I really gave it my all, but you're so much better at this than I am~."
  279.
  280. She does keep insisting she just got lucky last time, after all. This seems to have just reinforced that belief. SO MUCH FOR THAT CONFIDENCE. Maverick will just have to work harder.
  281.
  282. When Nathan approaches, Vervi turns to him and raises her hands to be picked up, "Master! I did my best! It just wasn't enough, Lizbet really is awesome!"
  283.
  284. --
  285.
  286. Lizbet squeezes Vervi's hand as she's helped up.
  287.
  288. And then... she frowns. She also turns Vervi to face her, putting both hands on her shoulders.
  289.
  290. And then -headbutt to the forehead-. And she keeps her head there. "You're -amazing- you idiot. You almost beat me. Stop doubting yourself like that, Monitor."
  291.
  292. Spoken just quietly enough so no one else can hear. And then... hug.
  293. >>> SUMMARY - Lizbet <<< - Screw your self-esteem issues! *headbutt*
  294.
  295. --
  296.
  297. THUNK. Vervi's eyes cross and briefly go swirly when she's headbutted, but she doesn't fall over. Just staggers. Shaking her head to recover, she blinks at Lizbet's words. After a moment, she closes her eyes with a helpless expression, "W-well, okay. But I still don't think I'm one of those."
  298.
  299. The hug is returned, and she mutters, "Be strong for me, okay?" And then when the hug ends, she grabs Lizbet's hand and raises it overhead for the crowd. Yeah, she lost, but they're still friends! Camera flashes and cheers confirm what Vervi suspected would happen. The audience loves it!
  300.
  301. Nathan is definitely going to oblige Vervi's request and pick her up. "Goodness, you certainly did your best, yes. That was so /close/." He says, his eyes wide with barely-restrained SPORTS enthusiasm that boils just under the surface of his unexpressive face. "Good work, Vervi, you put on an incredible show, it was remarkable." There are assorted little comforting headpats, albeit with Nathan's finger instead of hand.
  302.
  303. Then he's looking at Lizbet briefly, nodding respectfully. "You did very well, beating her this time. I am impressed. If she had to lose to someone, losing like this was best, you certainly earned the victory today."
  304.
  305. --
  306.
  307. Lizbet is apparently on Nathan's hand with Vervi, getting her hand raised like she just won a boxing match. She is okay with this.
