  1. All Coins
  2.
  3. Rules:
  4. The goal of All Coins is to collect the maximum number of possible coins in each of the main 15 courses and beat the game. Any form of coin or enemy duplication is banned. You do not have to collect coins from any of the secret stages (Bowser stages, cap stages, etc), as the game does not track these coin counts. You must collect the MAXIMUM number of obtainable coins in a level, even if certain coins are only available after collecting certain stars (the koopa blue coin in BOB, the carnival boo coins in BBH, etc). After collecting all of the coins from a level, you MUST collect a star and save your game. Otherwise the game will not save your coin count. (In other words, you cannot simply collect all of the coins and then kill yourself. You have to collect a star.) All forms of BLJ and Mips clip are allowed.

  23. FAQ:
  24.
  25. Q:Why don't you get the coins in the secret levels? It's not an all coins run if you don't get all of the coins.
  26. A: The game does not track coin counts in any of the secret levels. Also, there are infinite coin glitches in the Bowser fights that cannot be solved simply by banning enemy/coin duplication. If the name "All Coins" still bothers you, you can PM alternate name suggestions for the category to twitch.tv/chrisvoodle
  27.
  28. Q: Do you get the impossible coin in THI?
  29. A: No, it's impossible.
  30.
  31. Q: What about other out of bounds coins?
  32. A: If the coin is obtainable, then it should be collected, even if it is inside of a wall and cannot be seen. If it is impossible, then there's nothing that can be done about it.
  33.
  34. Q: Why don't you use LBLJ and go straight to CCM?
  35. A: You must collect all of the coins in each level, and the koopa blue coin in BOB cannot be obtained until after you have completed Koopa the Quick.
  36.
  37. Q: Why don't you use the shell in LLL?
  38. A: The shell can only be used on the fifth or sixth star. In other words, you would have to get the first four stars in LLL in order to use the shell. Any time you would gain on coin collection would be lost from collecting those stars.
  39.
  40. Q: Why do you ground pound the goombas in THI?
  41. A: If the little goombas touch Mario, then the goombas die without giving a coin. Ground pounding makes Mario's hit box bigger, making this less likely to happen. The big goombas will only give a blue coin if they are ground pounded.
  42.
  43. Q: Do you have to collect the 100 coin stars?
  44. A: You must collect a star after collecting all of the coins in the level in order to save the coin count. Whether that star is a 100 coin star or a separate star is up to you.
