  3. Domino sauntered through one of the many routes that led to her excuse of a home. It was a den concealed under a bush, and it wasn't very liveable. However, as she approached the area she flinched. Yellow caution tape littered the area, and she could now make out police sirens and a few figures in the distance. It didn't take long for her to process everything that was going on. Just as she was about to break into a sprint, she felt claws rake her side and someone trying to push her into the ground. She hissed and began her sprint, going as fast as possible as she ran in no general diection. She heard yelling, including something along the lines of "Get her!" However, this only led to her sprinting faster. Before she knew it, they'd lost her. However, she had no where to go" which led to the next 5 days being torturous and full of run aways.

  7. Granit's POV
  8.
  9. As Granit trudged through the pouring rain, he muttered to himself about how he needs to find out "where that blonde-haired idiot who works at the coffee shop lives." As he walked up to the doors of a particularly broken-down building, he looked around to make sure there was no one around, or at least, there was no one looking. Granit has always kept his residence a secret, because the only building he's ever called home is an old office building that burned to the ground around 10 years ago. As he checked to his right, lightning flashed in his eyes, partially building him. However, in the light, he could make out a single figure, who appeared to be running, but from what he couldn't make out. he was about to run, as he didn't want to reveal his location, but when the figure came closer, he could make out the person's face, which was an ever-so-slightly slightly dark shade of white, with long, grey ears with tips of black.
  10. "...Domino?" Granit began running towards her, not to go in for the kill, but to help her. To protect her.
  11. "Domino! Keep running!" Granit dived straight at one of her chasers, a typical police officer, and sunk his teeth straight into his arm, sending him falling to the ground screaming, but Granit ceased the sound by sinking his already blood-soaked teeth into his victims neck, effectively ending his life.
  12. "What are you doing! Granit!" Domino screamed at him, as she now expected this to be his end, but her remaining pursuers slowly walked away, terrified by the bloody death of their co-worker. However, when Granit began walking away from the limp and bloody body of his victim, the officers began running towards him. In response, Granit began running towards Domino.
  13. "Come with me! I can protect you!" They were both running at full speed, nothing stoping them from slowing down but puddles of water. Granit noticed the wind that the storm brought with it had left his building's door ajar. As they ran towards the door, lightning struck behind them, not only nearly hitting Domino, but blinding their pursuers. When the police they could see again, the door was no longer ajar, and both Granit and Domino were gone.

  17. Domino let out a few deep breaths, looking at Granit through the pale navy darkness. "Sommes-nous en sécurite?" She flinched, realizing what she said, and quickly replied. "Er, Are we safe..?" She quickly surveyed their surroundings, nothing the amount of rubble, before looking back at him. Granit shrugged before replying. "I believe so. Anyway, Domino, why were you running? Were you caught?" Domino shook her head and sighed. "They found my home and when I came back to it, they chased me. They've been hunting me down for the last, 5 days? I'm not sure.. I got into alot of fights. I haven't gotten any sleep. Je suis très fatigué ..." She whimpered near the end of her sentence, and Granit realized why soon after. He noted the bags under her eyes and her struggle to remain standing. As he looked for more signs to see how much sleep she actually got, dark pink streaks caught his eye. He circled her, and noted that she was covered in the same streaks all over her body; Scratches. His eyes widened and he looked at Domino with concern gleaming in his eyes. "Oh god Domino..you look horrible.. Let me see what I can do, stay still, okay?"

  20.
  21. "Ugh..." Domino muttered, laying in a pile of cloth and flat pillows, covered in bandages and gauze.
  22. "Finally awake, eh?" Granit turned away from his Game Boy, which appeared to be in what looked like a rousing game of Tetris, to see Domino turn over on to her side and give a mutter of pain. "How's the pain killer working?"
  23. "Not very good... My arms feel like they're on fire." Domino moaned again.
  24. Granit walked over to his very unorganized pile of medicine. "Let me see if I have anything a bit stronger... Ah! Here we go!" He pulled out a bottle whose label was scribbled out with black marker. He walked over to Domino, opened the bottle, and handed her a couple pills.
  25. "Granit...?" Domino's voice was weak.
  26. "Yes?"
  27. "Why did you save me?"
  28. Granit stopped. His face had a look that showed he didn't really know the answer.
  29. "Well?"
  30. "Because..." Granit stopped to think. "Because you're the only person I trust. You're the only person I've ever heard of that I can relate too."
  31. "...Really?"
  32. "Yes. I like to help people that I understand, which is basically no one."
  33. "Wow... Thanks, I guess." Domino threw the pills into her mouth, and almost immediately after swallowing, fell onto the pile of soft materials and started snoring.
  34. "Domino? Are you ok?" Granit looked at the back of the bottle, which wasn't covered in black, and noticed the words "INTENDED FOR SERIOUS PAIN, WILL CAUSE PATIENT TO FALL ASLEEP INSTANTLY."
  35. Granit looked at Domino's face and noticed the still massive bags under her eyes. "I suppose she needs it."

  38.
  39. Domino barely managed to open her eyes, feeling slightly better. That nagging dizziness was gone, and as she blinked a few times, she realized her vision was clearer. She was still very tired though, and part of her demanded she go fall back asleep and sleep whatever was left of the day away. Domino flinched upon hearing the soft creaking of old wood, but calmed when she realized it was just Granit. Straining her ears, she could hear the ever so soft 8bit tune that everyone loved and the sound of someone pressing buttons. She smiled lightly; Granit was playing Tetris on that old gameboy of his. It was probably better than passing the time in their other fashion, murdering others. Domino let out a soft sigh at the thought and lightly fidgeted, her muscles feeling stiff. The sound caught Granit's attention, she could tell, and she wasn't surprised to hear his soft, slow footsteps moments later.

  42.
  43. "Domino." Granit's voice had an urgent tone.
  44. "Ugghh... What?" Domino sounded tired, but not as tired as when she first arrived. Most of her cuts and bruises had healed mostly, but she still seemed somewhat tired.
  45. "Something's wrong. Very wrong." Granit turned to look at the wall.
  46. "What? What's wrong? Is the building collapsing?" Domino quickly realized that this couldn't be the case, because she looked at the ceiling and while it looked crumbled, it showed no signs of heavy force.
  47. Granit pointed towards a small hole in the wall. "See for yourself."
  48. Domino walked to the small hole, barely bigger than her eyeball, and saw that outside was nothing but yellow caution tape, police, and camera crews as far as the eye could see. "The potentially-insane serial killers Domino Flow and Granit Marsh have finally been cornered," one reporter spoke into her microphone.
  49. "La police! Ils nous ont trouvés?" Domino quickly cleared her throat. "Er, sorry. They found us?"
  50. "Yes. I don't know how, but they found us." Granit's voice was quieter. "Stay quiet. We don't want bullets flying through the holes in the wall."
  51. Domino's voice shifted to a whisper. "Ok, then. What are we supposed to do?"
  52. "I have no idea. If only there was some way to get out of here without them noticing. We can't try leaving at night. They're bound to have some night guards. I've jammed the door shut so they can't get in, so we can't leave that way."
  53. Suddenly, both heard voices of "I can see them!" Granit and Domino quickly ran to the side, and bullets began flying past them.
  54.
  55. Friday, November 20th, 1998, 6:06 AM
  56.
  57. Domino felt her heart pounding in her chest and her body trembling from shock. "Crouch down. " She whispered to Granit, and they both did the same. She looked at Granit's eyes through the yellow, red and blue light. They were wide and clouded with thought and concern. "Don't you have an attic?" She whispered close to his ear, and she had to with hold a sigh of relief. "Show me the way; carefully." She almost breathed in his ear, but he turned and began to stalk to the stairs. Domino could easily tell he was confused, but she was greatful for the lack of protest. Once they got up the stairs, she continued to follow him, but a little hesitantly. "Does it have windows?" When he shook his head, she bit her lip. "Follow me then." When he turned around and began to approach, she went to one of the windows. She peered down, noting the lack of officers guarding ir. "We're going to jump and run, run in a zigzag. try to stay hidden. However, stay close to me." She whispered, looking into his chocolate colored eyes. When she knew he had processed it all, she turned to the window. "Ready?"
  58.
  59. Granit held his breath. "Yes."
  60. And with those words, they jumped, landing with a thud, and quickly running behind a couple of bushes. An officer turned to see what the thud he heard was, but saw nothing, and wondered if he was hearing things again.
  61. "This way." Domino quickly sprinted behind a bush next to them, and then to one behind. Granit followed with only the quietest dash known to anyone.
  62. Onward they ran. To the side, behind, whatever was necessary to evade. The running kept for a solid hour, but the police were everywhere they ran. Both Granit and Domino quickly realized that escape would be a harder task than they initially thought. Eventually, they came to a small park, riddled with police who were on break.
  63. "What do we do about this?" Granit asked Domino, who's face showed she didn't know. However, as Granit began to brainstorm, a policeman, somewhat old but very tall, walked by.
  64. "Hey! Stop right there! Paws in the air!" The officer pulled out his gun. However, Granit responded not by putting his paws up, but by lunging at the policeman and sinking his claws into his chest, quickly ending his life.
  65. "What are you doing! Granit!" Domino started shouting, as she was well aware that this, along with her voice, would blow their cover, and indeed it did. Within half a second, every pair of eyes in sight was focused on them.
  66. Granit began running towards a nearby nature trail that led into a large forest. "Come on! We need to run!" Domino didn't question him and began running with him. Bullets began flying in front and behind them, both Granit and Domino jumping and ducking under the gunfire. When the officers passed the trees, Granit and Domino were no where in sight.
  67. A large man, presumably the chief of police, walked past the crowd of officers. "Search every corner of this forest, on the trail and off! I want these two dead!"
  68.

  70.
  71. Domino found herself running right next to Granit, and she could tell he was getting tired. “D-did you hear that? He's gonna cl-lear out the entire forest to kill us. We g-gotta get to the mountains, theyre past a t-town a few miles away.” Domino whispered, maintaining her speed. It was too noisy for it to echo, and she was greatful he could hear all of it. He nodded and began to increase his speed. “We have to hurry.” Domino found herself sprinting slightly faster then him. “Follow me” she whispered, and when he did she dove into a bush, which concealed an old sewer pipe; one that led to the town. She ran inside and waited for Granit to come in. When he did, she beckoned him to come further. “Uh, listen. We're gonna go through the entire sewer, It leads to some river in the mountain. Hey...” Domino continued walking, noting Granit at her side and the muddy water being up to their legs. “If we ever get caught, play dead. Attack if they try to make sure you actually are. Uh, if we ever get cornered, fight with me. Two is better than one, and we both know some killing methods. ” Domino whispered, and whatever echo there was there was unable to be heard. “Okay, lets run through this, try not to make much sound. Hope they don't see through this plan. Just go straight.” When Granit began his sprint she followed him, almost mimicking his movements. Before they knew it, they'd fallen into a shallow river;and Domino was correct. They were around mountains, and no police. “We have to keep going.”
  72.
  73. "Then let's keep going."
  74. Granit and Domino pushed up the mountain, in the hopes that they would be able to see the town from the top. However, there were a few flaws to this. The first that was presented to the duo was, despite it being late November, the beating cold.
  75. "Good god, how cold can it get?" Granit started complaining.
  76. "Well, at least you have a scarf. I have nothing at all." This was enough to get Granit to shut up about the cold. "Speaking of which, why do you wear that scarf anyways? Even in the dead middle of summer, you're always wearing that thing. What gives?"
  77. This causes Granit's face to become filled with mixed emotions. "It's a really long story, but I guess if you want to hear it... A few years ago, I came home from school with my annual report card. I had been going through a lot of bullying at the time, and when I showed a report filled with F's and D's to him. He just flipped out. He grabbed a massive kitchen knife, put it to my neck, and threatened me to, and I quote, 'Fill that damn thing up with a better letter or next time, I wouldn't have a brain to fill it up with.' He gave me a small cut on my neck to remind me. It hurt so badly, and because I lived in a mostly abusive household, my brother had to treat me, but that stop the cut from leaving a nasty scar. I wear this thing to keep people from seeing into my past." Tears came to Granit's eyes. "I didn't want people to know that I had a horrible childhood, but after the Triple Knifes case, I didn't have a childhood."
  78. Domino stopped in her tracks. "Wow, Granit..."
  79. The two stared into each others eyes, feeling the pain that each of them had gone through, when the silent moment was interrupted by shouts of "There they are! Shoot to kill!" The police had ran out of the forest only to see them trudging up the mountain. Bullets began flying past their ears.
  80. "Come on! We're almost to the top!" Granit's eyes were oozing determination. and they made Domino's do exactly that as well.
  81.

  83.
  84. Domino found herself mere paw lengths from the top of the mountain, and she knew she would be able to make it. However, when she looked to Granit, she noticed he was shivering; and struggling to pull himself up further. She went to help him up, but with the constant gunfire, it was difficult. How was their aim so bad? She managed to help him up a little bit before one of the bullets actually hit. It hit him first; somewhere in his side, then hit her on her shoulder. It didn't go through her however, but it still left a nasty gash. She looked at Granit; he was swaying, still determined to climb. Until another bullet hit him, causing him to fall and skid down the mountain slope. Domino ran after him, watching in horror. When he finally stopped, landing on smooth grass, he attempted to get up. Domino ran to his side. Why had the gunfire stopped? “Granit?! Are you okay?” Domino whispered. She wanted to cry tears of relief when he nodded. However, her joy was rudely interrupted when she heard footsteps and a voice. “Well look what we have here...”
  85.
  86. Friday, November 20, 1998, 8:00 AM
  87.
  88. The police chief, an incredibly large man, although incredibly agile, was standing over them like a redwood tree. "I see we've finally, after all these years, caught up with you two elusive little bastards. You've been responsible for the deaths of so many innocent people. You're so tricky and clever that it's almost honorable." A crew of almost 50 police men appeared above the two. "You two have created some of the most devilish and torturous ways to murder. Domino, you went so far as to dissect Cadmium's live body. Granit, you stabbed your friend Areo with a broken glass bottle at least 30 times. It's impressive how crazy you two are, and at the same time, so smart that we've been chasing you for or so long. But, I guess everything has to end eventually." He turned to his army of men.
  89. "Boys, get the cuffs, we have a lot of work to do."
  90.
  91. Friday, November 20, 1998, 8:05 AM
  92.
  93. Domino cringed, looking at Granit. He was standing, and didn't seem to be hurt too badly. But Domino could tell he was scared. He was trying to look tough--but he was trembling, and she could see him give a few fretful glances. She was scared too; it felt hard to stand and her body felt weak. She was shaking more than Granit was. She hissed at any cop that got even remotely close, but didn't attack. She didn't know what to do. "Domino, you killed over 70 goddamn people. Granit, only 50." Domino flinched. The chief was talking again, and loudly too. She could hear some gasps from several officers. "Domino, you murdered your own siblings! And for what!? Your brother was crude and unwelcoming; but he still loved you. " She almost gagged. Her brother tried to kill her; how could he possibly of loved her? But still she felt sad. And her sister... She could only hope he wouldn't bring her up. "You murdered your sister! Your sister had so much to live for; she was beautiful, respectable, and she loved everyone, the pure opposite of you." Domino whimpered, memories coming back. She remembered how her sister loved her until she died, how she always protected her and refused to let authories find her... But yet she still tried to sell her out to police, yet she was so sad about it, tears in her eyes when she cornered Domino and told her what she was going to do. She didn't remember why she killed her sister, the only thing she could remember about that fact is that she didn't want to. She found tears streaming down her face, and she could tell all eyes were on her; even Granit's. She found herself blocking out all sound, including Granit's quiet pleas for her to calm down. "...And your first murder; Why!? You had no reason to kill him! You two were in love; nobody could seperate you, why-- why did you kill --" Whatever he was going to saw was cut off by a blood curdling shriek, which was followed by several more. Granit flinched, backing away from her. Infact, everyone took a step back.
  94.
  95. Friday, November 20th, 1998, 8:10 AM
  96.
  97. Granit backed a few feet away from Domino, still screaming what could only be thought of as the highest-pitch musical note ever known. After what felt like an eternity, but was in reality only about 2 minutes the scream dissipated and Domino fell to the ground, gasping for breath.
  98. "Domino? Are you ok?" Granit slowly walked up to her. He was about to ask again when she quickly jumped up and raised her paw at him. "Domino! What are doing! It's me! Granit!" She began to throw her paw at him but stopped herself mid-swipe, realizing how delirious she was from anger.
  99. Out of almost thin air, the police chief lunged himself at Domino, grabbing every one of her limbs and pinning her to the ground. "We've got her sustained! Someone get some cuffs!" However, before anyone could react, Domino muttered in a tone so muffled it was almost scary. "You think... We're... Done?" In a speed so quick it could be considered superhuman, Domino yanked her front limbs free and scratched the chief in his face, leaving blood running down it. He screamed in pain and fell onto his back, groaning. Domino jumped onto his chest and said in a disturbingly evil tone, "We don't go down that easily." She sunk her claws into his chest and began to rip it open, tearing through muscle and skin like they were butter. She looked at his heart, his dead, unmoving heart, and pulled it out, tossing it into the crowd of policemen, many of which screamed at the sight of it. One member of the 50 or so officers backed away slowly, and shortly after the entire crowd was running away.
  100. "We're safe now, Granit." Domino turned to look at him, but she saw he had collapsed onto the ground, blood coming from the bullet hole left from the attack on the mountain. "Oh, no! Granit! Are you ok!"
  101. Granit's eyes were barely managing to stay open. "Yea, I'll pull through. Just get us somewhere safe." Granit's eyelids fell down, covering his eyes, and a smile fell across his face. Domino could tell he was unconscious, but alive.
  102. Within a few hours, they had reached a remote town on the other side of the mountain. Granit's wound was covered with leaves, and when Domino walked into town, every citizen rushed to Granit's aid.
  103.
  104.
  105. Wednesday, December 4th, 1998, 7:00 AM
  106. "Granit, I'm so glad you're out." Domino rushed to Granit's side, his front left leg in a sling. "Thank god the bullet just barely hit your shoulder and not your side like I initially thought."
  107. Granit showed signs of pain, but nothing too insane. "Yea, it's a miracle."
  108. Domino's face lit up. "It's finally time, Granit. Now that you're out of the hospital, we can finally leave. There's a boat waiting at the peer." Granit's face suddenly turned into a bright smile. "That's great. Let's leave ASAP."
  109. Within an hour of walking through the town, they came to the peer, where a small cargo boat was clearly visible. Granit's face showed confusion. "A cargo boat? Why a cargo boat?"
  110. "We don't want people to notice us. We're still criminals, after all." Granit's face returned to normal. "Ah, makes sense. Well then, ladies first?"
  111. "Of course." Domino walked onto the boat.
  112. Onto the boat, and away from the city. The city where everything went to hell.
