Kasra's Dream 0: A Glint of Gold & Enter Lily

[21:11]	IcePickLobotomy	Kasra: You dream. Strange vistas and starless skies. Worlds of black earth and red seas and empty cities. You dream of two giants standing a midst a verdant field. They fight and war to no avail, even as a shadow spreads across the land. What it touches withers away leaving only a lifeless red earth under it's shade. In the distance there is a golden gleam.
[21:12]	IcePickLobotomy	You awake to the gentle wash of the sea and the soothing whisper of the wind. You're head is laying upon something soft and warm. Your eyes are heavy still, but you cannot sleep.
[21:13]	Kasra	Groggily opening his eyes, Kasra attempts to assess his situation.
[21:16]	IcePickLobotomy	You're looking out at the sea, several meters of warm sand lay between you and the waters. The sky is a pale cloudless blue, the sun behind you.  Your shadow looks malformed, and it takes you a moment to realize that's because it's merged with another persons. Looking down you down that you're using someone's lap as a pillow.
[21:18]	Kasra	stands up and looks back at their silent companion.
[21:20]	IcePickLobotomy	It's a woman, probably in her mid 20's, in a sundress and a large floppy hat. Her skin is pale-white and you can see a few strands of pale-blue hair peaking out from under the hat. "You're awake." She says, and a pair of red-eyes meet yours.
[21:23]	Kasra	"Y-yeah. Um. Who are you?"
[21:25]	IcePickLobotomy	"Lily."
[21:26]	Kasra	begins slowly putting distance between himself and Lily. "I'm supposed to be in bed..."
[21:27]	IcePickLobotomy	"You are in bed. This is a dream." She smiles gently
[21:28]	Kasra	looks a little bewildered, but mentally tries to fly.
[21:28]	IcePickLobotomy	Kasra: Nothing happens
[21:29]	Kasra	"Are you sure?"
[21:29]	IcePickLobotomy	"Yes, I'm quite sure."
[21:30]	Kasra	shifts uncomfortably. "Well...I want to wake up now...so."
[21:31]	IcePickLobotomy	"Am I scaring you?"
[21:33]	Kasra	"I, no. I'm just.  I don't like this dream." He is transparently lying.
[21:34]	IcePickLobotomy	She bows her head, hiding her face behind the hat. "I see. I'm not going to hurt you, I don't like hurting people."
[21:37]	Kasra	stands still and silent for a while. After a moment, he sits down about five feet away facing her and mumbles something. His second attempt is audible. "Neither do I. I'm actually supposed to help people."
[21:38]	IcePickLobotomy	"I see." There is no mockery in her voice. "And do you want to help people?"
[21:40]	Kasra	"Yeah. So. I guess we're both good guys." He tries a weak smile.
[21:41]	IcePickLobotomy	"So we are." She pauses a moment "Do you mind if I call you Kasra?"
[21:42]	Kasra	Thinking that it's slightly odd for a dream-person to ask him for permission, Kasra plays along and nods.
[21:43]	IcePickLobotomy	"Thank you Kasra. May I ask you a question?"
[21:45]	Kasra	"Sure."
[21:45]	IcePickLobotomy	"Before you awoke here, did you dream?"
[21:46]	Kasra	"Well, yeah." He laughs a little before he resumes his response. "Everybody dreams."
[21:47]	IcePickLobotomy	She hums in response noncommittally "May I ask you what you dreamed of then?"
[21:51]	Kasra	"Well, everything was...ugly and burnt, and people were fighting but...there was a golden light too."
[21:51]	Kasra	"I mean, that was the dream before this one. Usually it's stuff like flying or forgetting stuff."
[21:51]	Kasra	"Dream things."
[21:52]	IcePickLobotomy	She nods. "Thank you Kasra. It may seem strange but that was rather important for you to tell me."
[21:53]	Kasra	"Yeah. What do you dream about?"
[21:53]	IcePickLobotomy	"Of better days that have passed me by, when I do dream that is."
[21:54]	Kasra	"...oh. That's...nice."
[21:57]	IcePickLobotomy	"It is." She stares out at the sea for several moments. "I'm sorry to hear about your parents."
[22:00]	Kasra	shrinks down and is unintelligible when he tries to say it's okay and that he's fine.
[22:00]	Kasra	"I don't want to talk about that. This is a dream, let's do something dreamy."
[22:01]	IcePickLobotomy	She stands up and brushes the sand from her dress. "OK. Take my hand then." She offers you her hand.
[22:04]	Kasra	"I, uh. F-first, did you work with my parents?"
[22:04]	IcePickLobotomy	"No."
[22:04]	Kasra	"Then I don't think I should go with you. Sorry, it was nice meeting you though!"
[22:05]	IcePickLobotomy	"Oh. Well that is fair. And yes, it was nice meeting you as well Kasra. I'll see you again."
[22:06]	Kasra	"Where are you going?"
[22:07]	IcePickLobotomy	"Oh, well you're going to wake up soon."
[22:07]	Kasra	"Do you just...stop when I do that?"
[22:08]	IcePickLobotomy	"Does it matter?"
[22:09]	Kasra	"Well, yeah. You're one of the good guys. Even if you didn't work with mom and dad, I don't want you to just...go away when I wake up."
[22:09]	Kasra	nearly falters, but manages a smile. "I can sleep a while longer if you want."
[22:10]	IcePickLobotomy	"It's alright Kasra. Nothing bad happens to me when you wake up. I promise."
[22:11]	Kasra	"...okay. But, I'll try to keep getting to sleep by bedtime. That way you'll get to be around more."
[22:14]	IcePickLobotomy	She smiles. "There's no need to worry. I exist even when you are awake."
[22:15]	Kasra	"O-oh. Right. Dreams have real people in them don't they?" Laughing nervously he scuffs his feet, embarrassed.
[22:17]	IcePickLobotomy	"Do you think I'm not real?"
[22:17]	Kasra	"Well I did, but that was kinda stupid. I must have just seen you somewhere."
[22:18]	IcePickLobotomy	She nods. "That makes sense. Well, I'll be sure to be sure to see you again as well."
[22:20]	Kasra	"Yeah!" He seems more at ease as he settles back into a sitting position to watch the waves, apparently content to wait until the dream ends doing so.
[22:20]	IcePickLobotomy	She sits back down beside you. Content to enjoy the company.
