  1. This is going to be a factory level thus it will have a kind of music that would fit a factory yet try to stay as instrumental as possible.
  2.
  3. The feel I am trying to get with this level is that this planet isn’t exactly hostile but just very dangerous as everywhere outside would possibly be fire geysers/electric things, while inside the player has lots of chance to get squashed, zapped or otherwise hurt by machinery.
  4. The beings that inhabit the factory will be Gearmos as they are the most tech based entities in SMG1/2.
  5. The planet is of medium size with a few large rocks and rubble creating a path and a HUGE factory standing on top. The outside of the factory is riddled with cracks and looks grey/black as would be expected from a lifeless rock. On this planet there is multiple “amp” generators which “supply” the factory with power while the inside of the factory uses stars in order to copy them.
  6.
  7. Star 1: Factory fallout
  8. The player is shot right outside the factory where the player will be able to enter.
  9. Once inside the player will find multiple panicking Gearmos in a slightly dark/brown/red room with a flashing red light and a start behind glass.
  10.
  11. Gearmo 1: If this star runs out everything all our work will be for nothing! You have to help us get the power generators outside back on!
  12.
  13. Gearmo 2(non-panicked): At least the energy from this star is keeping the factory from completely shutting down and possible causing an explosion. I can’t imagine what would have happened if I put it in a few seconds later as damages are already so high.
  14.
  15. Gearmo 3: Were doomed, were doooooomed!
  16.
  17. The player cannot progress to any other room inside the factory as all the hatches are shut (only enough power for safety functions) thus the player shall go outside again where periodically bursts of fire will burst from cracks in the ground in the rock maze the player has to walk though.
  18. The player has to manoeuvre around these and make sure not to step on any exposed circuitry in order to get to all 4 generators each of the generators will have a switch near them in order to make the amps start moving in a circle, once the player has gone past all 4 generators the shielding around the star will go down and the lighting in the room will change, the player will find themselves near the other entrance of the maze/pathway, the Gearmos will have alternate text at this point.
  19.
  20. Gearmo 1: Thanks for turning on all the generators again, now we can start repairs and continue our work!
  21.
  22. Gearmo 2: Thank you for turning the power back on, I guess we won’t need this star anymore so take it for your troubles.
  23.
  24. Gearmo 3(still panicking-ish): Were safe, were saaaaaafe!
  25.
  26. The comet medal would be located at the back of the factory building
  27.
  28. Star 2: The frantic factory
  29. The player is again shot to the front of the factory and if the player decides to look around outside will find patched up spots and filled up cracks thus making the outside far less dangerous than when the factory was in crisis state.
  30. Inside the factory the 2 hatches will be open, past 1 hatch will be a lunchroom-eske room with one Gearmo which will say: “Nothing beats a good strong cup of oil in the morning.”, going through the other hatch will reveal the first jump part as conveyors move up and down along with small piles of something (cont) , the player will eventually end up in a room with a frightened gearmo sitting next to an open doorway.
  31.
  32. Gearmo 1:Were still doomed…(shout/small text)
  33.
  34. Gearmo 1:Hey you, you were the one who switched the power back on right? Eh.. sorry to say this but it seems the downtime was too long and it caused a meltdown in a very important machine… We need you to turn on all 4 water conduits in order to cool it down. Sorry but I just can’t do it. The magnetic waves combined with the strange gravity created by it have already turned 2 of my into immobile piles.
  35.
  36. Gearmo 2(just past door): Gerbaatz..*Error*(shout only)
  37.
  38. Gearmo 3: *totally silent*
  39.
  40. Mario will walk past a hallway after which he wel come to a room with a spiral slope up, in the middle is a small black hole and parts of the spiral slope are missing due to it, once the player starts moving up the slope slightly the gravity will change so that the player will walk across the side railing.
  41. At some point the player can get into pathways with a second jump/backflip which will dislodge them from the black hole gravity and lead to the switches that activate water source that pour through the black hole, once all 4 are active the black hole will vanish and reveal a star which floats towards the hallway and the gravity at the spiral slope will turn back to normal, there the Gearmos will have different speeches.
  42.
  43. Gearmo 1:Wow(shout)
  44.
  45. Gearmo 1:You actually did it, you actually stopped the meltdown! Guess I owe you an explanation of what that machine really does. We use it to copy the signatures of real stars onto factory made ones to get them to emit and generate the same kind of power.
  46.
  47. Gearmo 2: *replacement fuse required*(shout)
  48.
  49. Gearmo 3: *rebooting*
  50.
  51. Star 3: Steel stars
  52. The player is once again dropped off at the entrance of the factory where there will be 3 Gearmos talking.
  53.
  54. Gearmo 1: Welcome back, are you interested to see how the factory works in its entirety?(yes/no choice)
  55.
  56. Yes: Ok follow me(teleport to another section) No: ok feel free to look around yourself
  57.
  58. Gearmo 2: Thanks again for last time.
  59.
  60. Gearmo 3: You realy helped us out of a bind.
  61.
  62. The teleport will bring the player to a set of conveyor belts which have a medium amount of starbits on them.
  63.
  64. Gearmo : This is where heat up the star bits in order to make them more maliable.(shout)
  65.
  66. The player has to jump multiple fire hazards in order to reach the other side where another Gearmo is waiting.
  67.
  68. Gearmo : Afterwards the starbits are hit hard with these hammers to make them into a more workable shape. The fires in between are so the bits stay hot enough to be used.
  69.
  70. After once again clearing a set of obstacles the player will see a third Gearmo.
  71.
  72. Gearmo : Once the forming has been done the starbits are cooled down and electrically treated in order to make them able to conduct, produce and store the energy we are going to give them.
  73.
  74. A set of water guns and electric fences that hinder the player must be overcome after which the first Gearmo stands there again.
  75.
  76. Gearmo : And finaly all the starbits are brought together to be worked into the vessel for the energy, it takes a lot of them…. , after which the machine comes in and attunes and stores a bit of energy in it. And then this is the final product.*Gearmo whirls around and shows a metallic star which floats to his front*(this could be a retextured star)
  77.
  78. Gearmo :Hope you enjoyed the tour!(shout)
  79.
  80. Once the player has gotten the star the luma on the starship could say “So bowser’s army has found a way to make synthetic stars… This can’t be good, who knows how many they have already made.”
  81.
  82. This might also be a change of the green stars in the sense that there are no so called “jewels of the cosmos” but that bowser’s army has gotten a large number of these steel stars to use as power.
  83.
  84. OR if it should not have any connection to bowser (that’s apparent)
  85.
  86. Star 3: Frantic Factory speedrun
  87. Basically the speedy comet run of frantic factory which would make sense as the factory “would blow up” if you are not fast enough.
  88.
  89. OR if star 1 seems a bit dull
  90.
  91. Star 1: the frantic factory(diff)
  92. When first entering the factory the gearmos say the same but both hatches are already open when going through the hatch which would have another gearmo having a constant … above his head.
  93.
  94. When you talk to this gearmo he will say: "Why haven’t the emergency pull stars come out. We can’t even get to the problem or save the others now. Can you quickly go outside and pull the override lever we need to get up there asap."
  95. After which the original star 1 level will come into effect as you have to go through the maze to the center in order to pull the single lever.
  96.
  97. Which would mean star 2 could be
  98.
  99. Star 2: Steel Stars
  100.
  101. And the third could be either a speedrun of the 1st or a daredevil run of the 2nd
  102.
  103. Green/Steel Star 1: a wall of the large rock at the bottom of the planet can be wall jumped to gain enough height for the star.
  104.
  105. Green/Steel Star 2: during the section with all the conveyors and hazards inside the factory there will be a spot where hammers try to squish the player, if the player manages to wall jump up above these while they are on the ground the player will find a star.(would be 3 if the level fusion took place and would be in the Steel Stars level)
  106.
  107. Green/Steel Star 3: the player has to wage a jump into the black hole as a little outside its pull is a green star.(would be 2 if the level fusion took place)
