- Spirit State: A person’s spirit can be commonly found in three states: Divine, Neutral or Corrupted.
- Divine means the spirit is close to god, giving the body many of the perks of a god. Regeneration, the ability to inflict burning wounds on the corrupted, and a boost on all stats are common blessings given to ones with a divine soul. There are other divine perks that can be given based on the various things ranging from the land, weather, emotions, and even what you had for breakfast in the morning. These days there are rarely any divine monsters after the Westerian curse spread to Zipangu corrupting many of the divine monsters.
- Neutral is the neutral state of being most beings are at. Humans are mostly found in a neutral state but often after coitus with a monster in a corrupted state they too fall into a corrupted state. Sleeping with a divine monster also gives a neutral being a state of divinity; however, this only works if the two are in love. Neutral beings receive no perks or setbacks as this is the natural state of things. Even some monsters can be found in a neutral state like an innocent nekomata. A spirit can be neutral/divine but there is no neutral/corrupt as once corruption takes hold, it’s all about the degrees of corruption. Neutral also has no ranks.
- Corrupted beings are tainted with demonic energy, some even completely made out of it. Corrupted beings get enhanced STR, WIS, DEX, CON, and CHA but suffer a minor loss of INT. Stats raise depending on how powerful you were before your corruption. For example a minotaur with high STR in her neutral state will get a surge of STR but only a small growth in WIS as the minotaur is unable to cast magic very well. Too much corruption however destroys the soul and the body. All races have different points before they begin to lose sanity, humans typically begin at rank D/C. Reaching the point of no return means men turning to incubi, women to monsters, and monsters falling into pure insanity. Succubi, however are always at rank A/B level of corruption.
