  70. (1:24:25 PM) uSea_a_GM: Gnash was talking with sherif Morning Star about clearing away some of the ghouls. He's had a little time to think it over.

  72. (1:25:32 PM) ***Gnash raps on the table with a talon; "Sure you must see the benefits of a proper extermination? More room to expand, freedom to scavenge whenever you want."

  76. (1:29:14 PM) uSea_a_GM: One of the guards beside Morning Star who hadn't insulted Gnash earlier taps the sheriff on the shoulder, "Boss we got all that explosive stuff, why don't we set a big trap and have the quick griffons lead the ghouls into it?"

"If you want my advice I'd look in the town hall, it's the building with the clocktower. There should be records inside that would tell you who used to work in the lab and where they lived."

  88. (1:35:40 PM) uSea_a_GM: Morning Star scratches his chin. "Yeah. That could work alright. We could give you a bunch of grenades to wake all the ghouls up as night starts to fall, that'd piss 'em off real good"
  89. (1:36:53 PM) ***Atom_Bell peeks under the table at the puce filly, "Or, wey aye, whey aye ah gan."
  90. (1:37:02 PM) ***Gnash resists the urge to facewing; obviously the explosives would be best used to actually exterminate the ghouls, not just grab their attention. he was beginning to think the pony guard who hadn't insulted him was the smartest of the lot.
  91. (1:37:41 PM) ***Cerberus the little filly looks at the pegasus, with sad eyes "we wil lfind a cure, don't worry sis"
  92. (1:39:36 PM) ***Atom_Bell frowns in befuddlement at the filly's reply, "A cure fo' wot Cerberus?"
  93. (1:41:39 PM) ***Cerberus "that.... weird problem with your way to talk..." the foal seems a bit worried "the wild yonder back at the nest had a similar problem, he was almost deaf and when he talked it seemed that hew was gnawing a bone... but he was old, you seem quite young..."
  94. (1:41:52 PM) uSea_a_GM: Jeeves smiles at the pegasus and the filly's exchange. "I can also offer half the reward if you get inside and bring back proof that this is all a wild pony chase."
  95. (1:44:00 PM) ***Cerberus turns toward the classy pony, rubbing her chin "say... you are not in a hurry for this, right? because we will need time... explore the place, trace a route, find the building.... it could take time... and we will have to pay to stay inside the place for all the time... so..."
  96. (1:44:46 PM) ***Atom_Bell sighs; why did everypony have such a hard time understanding her? She bites down on her lower lip, muttering, "Oh, wey, where's that bloody griffin when ah nee't him?"
  97. (1:44:57 PM) ***Cerberus "we will lose a lot of time trying to scavenge something and get some progress everyday, but not as far as we could go if we were dedicated on that...."
  98. (1:45:55 PM) ***Cerberus "so, we can do this with taking our time on our own, not promising a decent result very early, or.... you could hire us and pay the expenses and we will dedicate our full efforts on that..."
  99. (1:46:16 PM) ***Cerberus "i think that it is the same for us, so.... just decide on what you really need"
  100. (1:47:52 PM) ***Atom_Bell is silently thankful Cerberus' can take over negotiations. With her adorableness and surprising business acumen.
  101. (1:50:10 PM) uSea_a_GM: Jeeves ponders. "Hmm, a very reasonable request I think. I would quite like to leave, personally. I could pay your expenses for two days, I believe.

  105. (1:53:15 PM) ***Umbra traces glyphs into the dust on the table in an idle sort of way. Negotiations weren't her strong point and she was glad someone else was taking care of it, but it didn't stop boredom from slowly creeping up on her.

(1:53:24 PM) ***Cerberus "that sounds fair... this way we can dedicate ourselves on the mission and we will relay anything important we find to you, so that if somethign goes wrong, you'll still have something to work wiith the next time you hire someone for the job... i don't know if two days will be enough to solce the thing, though. but i guess we can talk about this again when we're there, yes?"

  112. (1:57:14 PM) uSea_a_GM: Jeeves' resolve crumbles under the filly's pleading look. He finds a toffee and gives it to Cerberus.
  113. (1:58:11 PM) ***Cerberus smiles in glee and takes the toffee, chewing it and forgetting coompletely about the negotiations, because sugar; her tail wiggles like a happy dog
  114. (1:59:41 PM) ***Geldnir pulls his mind from the fog that had been gripping it. Turning from his seat he watched the proceedings with interest
  115. (2:00:09 PM) uSea_a_GM: Morning Star addresses Gnash, "Tell you what, we can pay you 25 caps now (plus a few grenades of course) and another hundred when you're done. How about it?"

  120. (2:01:04 PM) ***Atom_Bell resists the urge to pet Cerberus, instead grateful that Geldnir has snapped out of his fugue. She whispers to him, "Thank Celestia yas awyck, ah think he'll want tuh sign a contract wi' yee neeo."
  121. (2:03:19 PM) ***Gnash Gnash ponders that for a moment; he probably would have ended up spending some of the pay on expenses related to the extermination anyways. "Deal." He pulls out a 'pest control' contract, unrolls it and shoves it towards the sheriff. "Just sign here," he gestures to al ine at the bottom with a talon.
  122. (2:04:57 PM) Geldnir: "Sorry about that I must have dozed off for a bit. Thank you Jeeves for the information, and the contract we'll get started on it tonight. Now I believe my compainons have an issue they need my expertise with?"
  123. (2:05:13 PM) uSea_a_GM: Morning Star's eyebrows rise and fall as he reads the contract. Particularly the fine print. "...blah blah blah, first born son clause, blah blah..."
  124. (2:05:33 PM) ***Gnash calls back to Geldnir; "Got it covered, looks like."
  125. (2:06:09 PM) Geldnir: "You sure? I could probably get you more pay out of it."
  126. (2:06:40 PM) ***Gnash shrugs; "You're welcome to try. He's looking it over now."
  127. (2:07:33 PM) ***Cerberus look up at geldnir "i'd say thhat we can make the reseraches in the town hall when it becomes dark and use whatever light is left to start checking the outside and find some viable routes to the city's skyline...."
  128. (2:07:59 PM) ***Geldnir gets up from his and wanders over to Morningstar. "Would you mind if I get a look over. He is my badygaurd after all, and I wouldn't want him to get a raw deal."
  129. (2:09:27 PM) ***Atom_Bell asks Jeeves, "D'ya hev a map iv the toon wuh cud borra, or at least see?"
  130. (2:09:54 PM) uSea_a_GM: "Be my guest, your friend is the one who produced this wall of text."
  131. (2:10:34 PM) ***Gnash sniggers; "Standard Pest Control Contract, but we Talons like to make sure ALL our bases are covered."
  132. (2:12:07 PM) uSea_a_GM: "I'm afraid not," Jeeves replies, "I had hoped you might find one in the town hall. I know where that is at least."
  133. (2:12:47 PM) Atom_Bell: "Muckle buildin wi' the clock towor, aye? easy enough tuh find."
  134. (2:13:18 PM) Ember left the room (quit: Connection closed).

  137. (2:13:53 PM) ***Geldnir starts reading it wincing every few sentences. . . "I can see that. . . You do relize that this town is need of 'Pest' control is anything but standard right?" As he continues to read geldnir starts to chuckle. "Well this simply wont do I'm afriad."
  138. (2:16:03 PM) ***Cerberus trots over umbra and sniffs at her, without telling a word
  139. (2:16:47 PM) ***Umbra blinks and looks down at the filly, bemused.
  140. (2:16:51 PM) ***Atom_Bell is awkwardly left alone with Jeeves at the table.
  141. (2:17:12 PM) Umbra: "Yes, Little One?"
  142. (2:17:14 PM) ***Gnash glances at Geldnir; "What? I figured ghouls would be along the same line of pestilence as radhogs or radigators. Advanced Pest Control is manticores or worse."
  143. (2:17:24 PM) ***SilentSpecter is staring off into space with her cigarette dangling out of her mouth
  144. (2:18:04 PM) ***Cerberus moves her muzzle nearer to umbra's muzzle, still sniffing
  145. (2:18:18 PM) Geldnir: "Yes they usually are but not in this number."
  146. (2:18:37 PM) ***Atom_Bell smiles wanely at Jeeves, "Um, if you'll excuse wor."
  147. (2:19:18 PM) ***Atom_Bell stands up and heads towards the corner where the other equine members of the team seem to have gathered, taking a seat next to the smoking unicorn.
  148. (2:19:22 PM) uSea_a_GM: "Well the plan was to piss off a load of ghouls and then blow them up. Thin the numbers a bit. I wouldn't ask you to take on the whole town, you're bound to get tired after the first hundred."
  149. (2:19:49 PM) ***Umbra inches her head back at the same speed the little filly moves closer.

  157. (2:23:38 PM) ***Umbra looks slightly affronted and not at all sure how to respond to that. Still, she takes a stab at it anyway. ''What do you mean by that?''
  158. (2:23:53 PM) ***Atom_Bell shifts, still feeling awkward around her erstwhile companions. Without really looking, she asks the unicorn, "See, yas Silent Spector reet?"

  167. (2:25:44 PM) ***Atom_Bell nods, not really having planned much more then that, "Fits bonny wey though, yee seem leek the silent type sure enough."
  168. (2:26:19 PM) ***Umbra relaxes, and snickers softly, patting Berry on the head. ''I like you too, Little One, you are very strange. Strange things must stick together.''
  169. (2:26:21 PM) Geldnir: "I see. Well you can at least tripple his orignal asking price, plus cover any minor expenses such as say lodging?"
  170. (2:27:05 PM) ***SilentSpecter takes a drag of her cigarette, turning her head towards the pegasus and shrugs
  171. (2:28:48 PM) ***Cerberus looks down for a moment. "ah.... i know i'm strange.... it's the curse... but yhou know what they say when you get some luck shortage in life... sucks to be you.... so, it sucks to be me"
  172. (2:31:51 PM) ***Atom_Bell paws at the floor, reconsidering her choice of the pony with the first name of "Silent" to talk to. Though the pinkish filly had monopolized the zebra's attention and it seemed rude to interject.
  173. (2:32:21 PM) Umbra: "Life is about Balance, Little One. There will be highs, and there will be lows. It is the way of things. It is imbalace that causes problems. If your luck ebbs, it will flow again, for from the bottom, there is nowhere to go but up."
  174. (2:32:26 PM) uSea_a_GM: "Hmm, alright, you drive a hard deal. We'll pay him 75 caps now and 300 when he gets the job done. We can't spare any more grenades though. But I can't offer you lodging. I was expecting you to do this tonight."
  175. (2:33:15 PM) Geldnir: "Fair enough. deal. Sign here please."
  176. (2:33:45 PM) ***Atom_Bell perks her ears up at that last bit of Umbra's. Despite making pretentions she wasn't listening, Atom chimes in, "Clearly yiv nivvor been in a pit, miss."
  177. (2:34:22 PM) uSea_a_GM: Morning Star signs and hands over 75 caps.
  178. (2:35:07 PM) ***Gnash grins at Geldnir; "You know your shit. Guess I should be glad I got assigned to you." He hands over 25 of the caps to Geldnir; "For your expert advice," he sneers.

  181. (2:35:49 PM) uSea_a_GM: "Get a nice big swarm to chase you tonight and lead them back towards town. We'll be ready with the fireworks."
  182. (2:35:58 PM) ***Cerberus nods to umbra, not understanding completely what she's saying "uh.... thanks?"
  183. (2:36:27 PM) Geldnir: "Sounds like a plan."
  184. (2:36:30 PM) ***Gnash smirks at the sheriff; "Sounds like a plan"
  185. (2:36:51 PM) ***Gnash chuckles at geldnir; the EX-Talon continued to amuse him
  186. (2:37:35 PM) Geldnir: "Right now though we have preperations for tonights expiditon."
  187. (2:37:36 PM) ***Cerberus notices that caps are exchanged and paws are shaken at the sheriff's table, this can only mean one thing "i hope we will finally get out this place and head to that town hall"
  188. (2:38:03 PM) ***Umbra pats Berry on the head again. ''Just keep going, things will get better. Eventually.'' Though the way she says this makes it sound like she is trying very hard to convince herself.
  189. (2:38:04 PM) ***Gnash glances back at the filly; "Keep your hooves on, we're done here."
  190. (2:38:46 PM) ***Atom_Bell turns her attention to SilentSpecter again, trying to make conversation until the griffins call for them, "How'd yee hyeuk up wi' this crew then?"
  191. (2:39:43 PM) ***Geldnir nods to Morning Star "Yes, we can plan on the way. Lets away." Waving to the others as he heads out the door.
  192. (2:39:49 PM) ***SilentSpecter blinks "I...really don't know. It just kind of happened."
  193. (2:41:08 PM) Atom_Bell: "Syem heor, ah suppose. Evarrypony needs a doctor these days it seems."
  194. (2:41:24 PM) ***SilentSpecter nods.
  195. (2:41:55 PM) uSea_a_GM: The party emerges blinking into the light. It felt like they were inside that bar for a whole week!
  196. (2:42:01 PM) ***Cerberus nods again to umbra and starts trotting towards the griffins "alright stripey, let's go..."
  197. (2:43:12 PM) ***Atom_Bell gets up, resettling the way her coat lays on her flanks before following after the rest of the group.
  198. (2:43:41 PM) ***SilentSpecter walks at the back of the group
  199. (2:43:50 PM) ***Umbra trots outside, happy to be getting on with it.
  200. (2:43:58 PM) ***Geldnir once outside geldnir takes to gliding rather than walking. "We have two flyers, and well need to do this on the roof tops. . . Were going to need rope."
  201. (2:44:30 PM) ***Cerberus "ah... doing what? we have to check the town hall before it gets dark...."
  202. (2:44:57 PM) uSea_a_GM: A very obviously drunk earth pony staggers towards you.
  203. (2:45:02 PM) ***Atom_Bell raises a hoof, "Technically, ah gan fly as wey."
  204. (2:45:34 PM) Geldnir: "Yes I know that. I was talking about an exit strategy incase things take longer than expected."

  423. (4:15:01 PM) ***Geldnir takes out his machete and clears the broken glass. "Eeyup."
  424. (4:15:42 PM) ***Berry nods at Atom_Bell "uh... yes please, can you take it? i'd like to take a better look at it...."
  425. (4:15:49 PM) SilentSpecter: "It is indeed a ribbon."
  426. (4:15:55 PM) uSea_a_GM: the way is clear, the room beyond looks empty
  427. (4:16:17 PM) ***Atom_Bell snerks, "Filly wants the bonny ribbon?"
  428. (4:16:56 PM) ***Berry blushes and steps back "n-n-no! i... it just seemed... suspicious! it could... ah.. it could be a clue!"
  429. (4:16:58 PM) ***Atom_Bell takes a deep breath and dives down towards the street, keeping an eye out for any sign of the ghouls that are supposed to infest the town.
  430. (4:17:14 PM) Geldnir: "Your turn Gnash. I'll be in right behind you. One of you up top tie off the roop and lower some down we'll feed it through the window."

  432. (4:17:57 PM) Desert_Lightning left the room.
  433. (4:18:08 PM) uSea_a_GM: The streets are deserted. Atom spots a menacing tumble weed but she stares it down bravely.
  434. (4:18:08 PM) ***Gnash barges in through the window frame, although it's a bit of a squeeze for someone of his breadth. He scouts the interior of the room from within now that he has a better view
  435. (4:18:13 PM) ***Atom_Bell Either way, it's better to be out in the open for a fight then inside a closed space. Atom can infer that from memories of the shredded remains of miners that encountered hellhounds in the lower workings.
  436. (4:18:22 PM) ***Berry "i'm on it!" starts tying the rope somewhere, trying to use a strong point where to tie it and uses a lot of knots
  437. (4:19:03 PM) ***Atom_Bell bests the tumbleweed, and flares into a landing by the fence. She snatches the end of the ribbon in her teeth.
  438. (4:19:36 PM) Geldnir: "Anything in there worth worrying over?"
  439. (4:20:22 PM) ***Atom_Bell tugs it free from the fence and turns around on the ground before taking flight for the clocktower return journey.
  440. (4:20:29 PM) ***Gnash goes to inspect some old sacks laying in a corner
  441. (4:22:49 PM) ***Geldnir climbs though the window grabing the rope and guiding it through the window.
  442. (4:24:59 PM) ***Atom_Bell lands next to where Berry works at tying the rope, ribbon in mouth, presenting it to the filly.
  443. (4:25:55 PM) ***Atom_Bell with an undue amount of bowing.
  444. (4:25:58 PM) ***Berry finishes the work and then takes the ribbon and looks at it
  445. (4:26:09 PM) ***Gnash hefts one of the bags, which is filled with sand. It's moderately heavy
  446. (4:26:54 PM) ***Atom_Bell relieved of the obstruction in her mouth, she remarks nonchalantly to SilentSpecter, "Thor weor a lot iv hoofprints in the yard doon thor, headin intee the kip."
  447. (4:26:59 PM) Geldnir: "We can use those to help bar the ground level entrance. After we clear this place we can use it as a central HQ."
  448. (4:27:18 PM) SilentSpecter: "Heading where now?
  449. (4:27:42 PM) ***Berry using her tail to help herself, the filly putse the ribbon in her mane "ah.... i don't think it is a clue,,, sorry"
  450. (4:28:08 PM) Geldnir: "I'll help the others in."
  451. (4:28:33 PM) ***Gnash ponders the sandbags; "My question would be why they're here in the first place."
  452. (4:28:35 PM) ***Geldnir flies out of the window and back to the roof where the others are.
  453. (4:28:38 PM) ***Atom_Bell facehoofs, "The house."
  454. (4:29:06 PM) SilentSpecter: "Why didn't you say that in the first place?"
  455. (4:29:21 PM) ***Atom_Bell pats Berry with a wing, It looks canny in yor mane though, lass."
  456. (4:29:48 PM) ***Atom_Bell frowns, "Ah did, yee just divvint understand it."
  457. (4:30:01 PM) uSea_a_GM: Those inside can hear the sound of hoofsteps downstairs.
  458. (4:30:02 PM) Geldnir: "Rooms clear time to come inside everypony. If Atom will help me I can help the rest of you get in."
  459. (4:30:33 PM) ***Berry sits on the roof and waits her turn to be transported inside
  460. (4:30:35 PM) ***Gnash lowers his voice, walking back towards the window; "Somethign moving on the floor below."
  461. (4:31:49 PM) Geldnir: "We'll be there shortly till then don't make a lot of noise. If it's a ghoul wouldn't want it to know we we're here."
  462. (4:31:49 PM) ***Atom_Bell eyes the two fully grown mares on the roof with her, "Reet. Ready when yas Geldnir."
  463. (4:32:08 PM) ***Umbra is more than ready to get an actual floor back underhoof, and glady accepts the help offered.

  465. (4:33:06 PM) ***Geldnir helps lower Umbra using the rope to guide her into the window. "Ready whenever you are."

  468. (4:34:25 PM) ***Umbra scrabbles though the window and into the room, then slinks off toward the next room to take a look.
  469. (4:34:58 PM) Geldnir: "You could play rock, rock, rock to decide or one of you could just come on."
  470. (4:35:23 PM) ***Berry "alright let's go" grabs the rope and descends to the window
  471. (4:35:49 PM) Gumdrop [[email protected]] entered the room.
  472. (4:35:58 PM) ***Geldnir helps guide her making sure she doesn't fall.
  473. (4:37:41 PM) ***SilentSpecter looks down at Berry making her way down
  474. (4:38:36 PM) Atom_Bell: "Ready tuh gan Specter?
  475. (4:38:57 PM) ***SilentSpecter nods and starts making her way down
  476. (4:39:15 PM) ***Berry once on the floor, the foal moves quietly towards the doro and listen to any odd noise
  477. (4:39:23 PM) ***Geldnir helps guide Specter through the window.

  479. (4:39:54 PM) ***SilentSpecter once inside she slides her rifle out of her holster. always helps to be prepared.
  480. (4:40:28 PM) ***Berry raises a hoof asking for silence for a moment
  481. (4:40:56 PM) ***Atom_Bell nods, and ducks inside. She carefully avoids getting to close to anything vaguely dangerous, i.e. the door.
  482. (4:41:08 PM) ***Gnash remains still, well aware that his bulk does not make for quiet movement
  483. (4:41:47 PM) ***Geldnir looks around for a bit before climbing through the window himself.
  484. (4:42:29 PM) ***Berry mutters "there's something rotting in this place.... beware for ghouls...."
  485. (4:42:59 PM) ***Gnash snickers; "Ghouls? That's a surprise. Never would have guessed that."
  486. (4:43:04 PM) ***Atom_Bell considers reaching for one of her sharper surgical implements, just to reassure herself.
  487. (4:43:42 PM) ***Geldnir whispering "We'll split up into teams of two, and seach the building clearing it of any hostiles. Then we have to move to bar the main ground floor entrances and windows.

  489. (4:44:15 PM) Geldnir: "After that we can look for salavage and what we came here for."
  490. (4:44:24 PM) ***Berry shakes her head "splitting could be dangerous... we risk being overwhelmed"
  491. (4:45:13 PM) Geldnir: "Not if we do it floor by floor. Staying in a large group could get us all killed in this confinded space."
  492. (4:45:16 PM) ***Atom_Bell listens, not really sure what to add to the conversation. She's not a fighty pony by nature, and certainly doesn't have any weapons (a fact Geldnir should know by now).
  493. (4:45:18 PM) ***Gnash speaks up; "The Zebra and I should go first; talon and hoof are much quieter than gunshots."
  494. (4:45:41 PM) ***Berry mutters again "no hoofprints here around, it should be clear"
  495. (4:46:27 PM) Geldnir: "Right. Atom you are with me. You stick with Specter, Berry"
  496. (4:46:30 PM) ***Berry "alright, i'd say we can split, but as soon as a group finds the stairs to go down it wil lstop and secure them while the others explore, okay?"
  497. (4:46:48 PM) Geldnir: "Sounds good."
  498. (4:46:56 PM) ***SilentSpecter shrugs
  499. (4:47:22 PM) ***Atom_Bell nods hesitantly; even the foal knows more about fighting then she does, "Or, rogor Geldy."
  500. (4:47:28 PM) ***Berry looks at specter "okay horny pony, let's move...."
  501. (4:48:49 PM) ***SilentSpecter goes with Berry
  502. (4:48:51 PM) ***Gnash moves off wordlessly, since that's the best he can do in terms of stealth, and motions for Umbra to follow
  503. (4:49:23 PM) ***Atom_Bell fishes into her bags for something even vaguely martial, coming up with one of her scalpels. She moves to Geldnir's side with a nervous glance at the door.
  504. (4:49:50 PM) ***Geldnir grins. "Alright lets move Atom. Stick close to me."
  505. (4:50:26 PM) ***Gnash comes up behind Umbra as slowly as possible, stopping behind her, notcing that she is clearly stealthier than he is
  506. (4:50:39 PM) ***Berry takes the laser rifle and turns off the failsafe, then powers up the weapon, that makes a shost whistling sound while the capacitors get to full capacity
  507. (4:51:43 PM) uSea_a_GM: The next room is little more than a landing with stairs leading down to the buildings reception
  508. (4:52:12 PM) ***Geldnir starts searching the floor they're on. "Don't worry about scavagening we need to make sure the building is clear before night fall."
  509. (4:52:19 PM) ***Berry mutters "hey, wait a second, where is the zebra?"
  510. (4:52:20 PM) ***Atom_Bell nods, unable to speak for fear of dropping her 'weapon'
  511. (4:52:21 PM) ***Umbra creeps slowly back out of the hall and into the reception room, moving back to where Gnash was following. ''I count six in the next room.''
  512. (4:52:32 PM) ***SilentSpecter nods at Geldnir.
  513. (4:52:55 PM) ***Atom_Bell follows obidiently after Geldnir
  514. (4:53:13 PM) ***Gnash looks at Umbra criously; "How many do you think you can handle on your own? You're a lot quieter than I am, and they'll bring the whole place down on us if they start shrieking
  515. (4:54:44 PM) Umbra: "Depends, I can get the drop on one, but I may not be able to take more than one down without making any noise, depending on how advanced their state of decay is."

  517. (4:59:41 PM) Gnash left the room (quit: Quit: See you !).
